Portions of it were mostly fine.
Bruce Springsteen is one of the all-time greats. This one in particular is filled with absolute gems.
It has its good/great/excellent moments. It has many of them.
It is quite great, almost excellent.
It sounds like the music I listened to when I was 14. I do not know if that's a good or a bad thing.
It starts beautifully, then it doesn't amount to much.
The beauty of this one is high up there.
In Bloom and Something in the Way are maybe the best songs Nirvana ever wrote. But overall, there's too much screaming for my linking.
It's almost very good, great start and end. Kind of weak in the middle.
I have never been a big fan, or any size of fan, of whatever that was.
Few have done it better than Johnny Cash.
It's just nonstop hits one right after the other for the first half, then it fizzles a little bit.
I don't think I had ever listened to something like this. It was marvelous.
I guess it's fine. Not really my style.
Yeah. I'm gonna go ahead and skip this one.
UPDATE: I went back and listened to it. So, so boring.
I didn't know what to expect with the Diane Arbus-ish cover. What a great surprise this was.
It's good. But not really my style.
What's not to love about Brit-pop? Even more accurate, what's not to love about early 90's Brit-pop?
I like Lou Reed, he's fine. But there's something that stops me from being a fan. This album is mostly good.
I really liked it but I'm note really sure of why.
It's not bad. However this style and time are not for me.
It has some very interesting songs. I don't necessarily like it as an album.
Hooked from the get go. Love this one.
They're trying too hard to be New Order. But they are perhaps better than Happy Mondays.
I enjoyed listening to this one, but I wouldn't listen to it again.
Unlike my cousin Oscar, I'm not such a fan of Queen.
A little bit like Mano Negra, but they were better.
Gotta love outlaw country.
This is something else. Wonderful.
I understand what was going on. But the gap between New Order and The Chemical Brothers was not filled by 808 State. However, I do recognize their importance.
I'm glad country evolved. But this is definitely a good foundation stone.
I like it. But not so much as to save it.
I guess I didn't know I was a Tom Waits fan.
Some interesting stuff. But not really.
Well, this certainly was better than I had expected. But there's a reason why that kind of music only lasted for a few years.
What's not to love about Sonic Youth?
Not for me. But I do appreciate it.
From the cover I was expecting some prog stuff. I was definitely not ready for what it actually is. What a thing of beauty.
They were onto something.
I've some Dusty Springfield's songs before, but this is something else.
As it started I didn't care much for it, but it kept on growing on me.
A couple of great songs, but not a whole album.
Wilco is one my favourites.
Not a big fan of old school country, but it's a fine album.
Even with Morrissey being the way that he is, this is one fine piece of work.
I don't get the love. It's not bad, but it's nothing that wasn't already done many times before.
I'm starting to get The Doors a little bit more after not liking them for so long.
Quite interesting. I prefer Peter Gabriel's subsequent albums, but this one is a fine listen.
Not really my style. But it was a good listen.
Too jazzy for me. But not bad.
This is a work of beauty.
I was ready to hate it. What a surprise this was for me.
It has a handful of good songs.
Enjoyable. But not really memorable.
It starts with everything it has. Then it’s a string of hits and misses.
You can really tell how this sound was constant in much of Pink Floyd's post-Barrett era. But they needed time to refine it. Good listen overall.
I first listened to Spiritualized in my teens. It was actually this very record. I hated it. I was so bored. I never gave them another chance. What a difference time makes.
I don't think I understand it.
I knew some of The Avalanches, but I've never devoted the time to listen to a full album. What a magnificent surprise.
This is the exact album that seemingly all restaurants in México played between 2001 and 2005, probably later. And for a reason. It's background music, nothing more.
Dark-ish, but the fun kind of dark.
Not much of a Bod Bylan fan, but there's something here.
This is quite good. Shame they suck live.
This is one of my favourites.
Not at his best, but a good listen regardless.
I really liked this one when it came out. Now, during this relisten, I was so bored.
Several good/great songs, but not necessarily a good/great album.
Weird and fun. But probably not weird enough.
I usually like loud and weird, but this is not getting it done.
Not their best. But not bad.
It's a constant hit and miss. Not a solid album.
I can keep on happily living without ever listening to The Specials again.
There comes a point, and we arrive quite quickly to it, when all brit-pop sounds exactly the same. This is not necessarily a bad album; it's just one more.
Good enough, but it's hard to be Fleetwood Mac and have to improve on Rumours.
