Popular Reviews

This is the exact type of album that belongs to this list. Everyone needs to listen to this type of music at least once before they die. These other reviews are filled of people hating on this album for awkward rapping, terrible flow, and a horrible beat. They aren't wrong. This is the least musical work of music I've ever listened to. However, the lack of polish really make you think about the artists and why they chose to make this music. What inspired them to produce this album of questionable quality? It certainly wasn't another pop band trying to make another million dollars by hitting the top charts. There's something about this album that uniquely flawed. And that's what makes music so appealing to us as human beings. I'll never do my ears the disservice of listening to this again, but I'm glad I listened to it once

Fragile by Yes

Too bad all the songs can't be as good as Roundabout. Would be 6 stars if they were

I liked the part when Pink Floyd went to the moon and said, "wow this really is the dark side of the moon."

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen

This is the type of album I'm here for. This was something totally unique and different to my usual music taste. I was completely grabbed by the unique vocals and pulled in with the emotional lyrics. This will be one of my new albums to listen to late at night when my soul needs something to hold onto.

All Ratings (200)

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Jan 17 2025

70s talent on the instrument with almost a 50s feel with the vocalist. Adding this one to the library

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jan 21 2025

Not my kind of genre. Maybe if I was more of an edgy teenager in the 2000s

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Feb 11 2025

One of the more interesting albums I've listened to. A real piece of art

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Feb 12 2025

I always wonder what separates me from the people who like this kind of music

Tommy by The Who
Feb 13 2025

70s rock is always a good listen

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Feb 14 2025

I was very surprised by how much I liked this unique album. Definitely not my usual genre, but there's a reason I'm using this website

Parachutes by Coldplay
Feb 17 2025

Not a huge Coldplay fan though I see why people like them

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 07 2025

Always a fan of Fleetwood Mac. Probably not their best album but still a great listen

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Mar 10 2025

While the idea of building an entire album out of samples is interesting, none of these songs struck me as meaningful or unique

Mar 11 2025

The only thing I knew before going into this album is that Wonderwall is over played. I can now see why Oasis was popular and very overplayed

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Mar 12 2025

2 minutes into the first track, I was very tempted to stop listening. I'm glad I listened to the whole album. I found that as I treated it like a classical music concert, rather than a collection of rock & roll hits, I enjoyed this album a lot

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Mar 14 2025

What did I just listen to?

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Mar 17 2025

70s rock just hits the spot. That was some good stuff

Young Americans by David Bowie
Mar 19 2025

I've tried but I don't think I'll ever like David Bowie. Just not my thing

Arrival by ABBA

Is it embarrassing to admit when pop music hits the spot?

The Next Day by David Bowie
Mar 25 2025

Try as I might, David Bowie just doesn't do it for me

Fragile by Yes
Mar 26 2025

Too bad all the songs can't be as good as Roundabout. Would be 6 stars if they were

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Mar 27 2025

I hadn't heard of Morrissey before but several other reviews said he's controversial. No comment on that. I liked some of the tracks and not others.

Spiderland by Slint
Mar 28 2025

Honestly, I'm not sure what I just listened to

Moondance by Van Morrison
Mar 31 2025

Yeah I like Van Morrison

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Apr 03 2025

There is a very specific subgenre of music that involves solo female vocalists featured in vibe albums. Now I'm normally a rock & roll kinda guy, but there's something about albums like this that just hits the spot with me. I just vibe to it. 5 stars.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Apr 29 2025

Needed more electrons

Yank Crime by Drive Like Jehu
Apr 30 2025

Only using the most liberal of definitions could this be called good music

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
May 01 2025

Oh yeah that's what I'm here for. Who cares if I don't understand it? It's blues

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
May 05 2025

First time listening to Bob Dylan. Don't know why it took me this long.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
May 06 2025

I don't think I've ever heard acoustic punk before. Not my genre but I could appreciate the concept

Vulnicura by Björk
May 07 2025

Well at least it was unique. This was the first album where I couldn't make it completely through

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
May 08 2025

There's a certain type of music that contains really bass heavy synth sounds in the background that doesn't vibe with me. I really wish it didn't bother me so much

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
May 09 2025

60s music that would have been good in the 60s. Today not so much

Bad by Michael Jackson
May 12 2025

I grew up after the Michael Jackson era and had never listened to a whole album before. Yep makes sense why he was so popular

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
May 14 2025

Sounds like he's singing while sick and high on cold medicine

Entertainment by Gang Of Four
May 15 2025

Punk rock is pretty alright I suppose

May 16 2025

Hip Hop isn't normally my thing but I find myself liking a lot of the songs on this album. Good beats and good lyrics. However, the album was 3X longer than it needed to be. I'm also not a fan of how explicit it can be. I won't ever be giving this a relisten

My Generation by The Who
May 19 2025

Contrary to everyone else on this website, I actually like all the British Rock. This was was just alright though

Dirt by Alice In Chains
May 20 2025

Heavy grunge isn't my style. Not badly performed though

Calenture by The Triffids
May 21 2025

I don't know why all these other reviews are completely dogging on this album. It's not anything great but it's not horrible

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
May 23 2025

The album cover is a gun. That's pretty cool

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
May 26 2025

Nothing like Blues to drive the blues away. You can't listen to this music and have a bad time

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
May 27 2025

Music has no right to be this good. Some of the best jazz I've ever listened to.

May 29 2025

I liked the part when Pink Floyd went to the moon and said, "wow this really is the dark side of the moon."

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
May 30 2025

Probably would have been more enjoyable if I were high. Then again that's probably the case for most albums

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jun 02 2025

Do you have to be on psychedelics to enjoy psychedelic rock?

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 03 2025

Groovy stuff. Really makes slaving away in the cubicle much more enjoyable

Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp
Jun 05 2025

Chill vibe but not enough to stick with me. She wears a cool hat in the album cover though

Jun 06 2025

This is the exact type of album that belongs to this list. Everyone needs to listen to this type of music at least once before they die. These other reviews are filled of people hating on this album for awkward rapping, terrible flow, and a horrible beat. They aren't wrong. Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 09 2025

I hadn't listened to this before and now understand why it tops the greatest of all time charts. Fantastic album.

Guero by Beck
Jun 10 2025

Didn't love it; didn't hate it

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Jun 12 2025

First couple songs completely bored me and I almost quit early. I'm glad I stuck it out as there were some pretty decent tracks here.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 13 2025

If I were older I'd better appreciate the history of the album. But as a young whippersnapper, I thought it was just alright.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Jun 16 2025

This is one of the few albums I don't have a lot to say about. There was nothing here that demands my comments. I wish I either loved or hated it because then this review would be better

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Jun 17 2025

I went to an Iron Maiden concert in 2024. Nearly everyone there was middle aged and balding. Good times.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jun 18 2025

Is this album held up by "Money for Nothing" and "Walk of Life?" Absolutely, but those songs are so good I have to give it 5 stars

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Jun 19 2025

Was expecting emo guitars and that's exactly what I got

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 20 2025

Easily one of my favorite albums of all time. There's a complete emotional range I haven't found in other music. This album takes me from the highest highs to the lowest lows. I can't get enough of it.

Live At Leeds by The Who
Jun 23 2025

I was skeptical of a live album, but this really shows how good The Who was. Fantastic listen

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jun 24 2025

Didn't love it. Didn't hate it.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Jun 25 2025

This is the type of album I'm here for. This was something totally unique and different to my usual music taste. I was completely grabbed by the unique vocals and pulled in with the emotional lyrics. This will be one of my new albums to listen to late at night when my soul needs something to hold onto.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jun 26 2025

The fire got out of control and I burned down a city

All Directions by The Temptations
Jun 27 2025

As much as I love older music, this album did not resonate with me. The stereo mixing is not great on modern ears. Honestly I wish I'd have listened in mono

xx by The xx
Jun 30 2025

That was some pretty good vibes from an indie band I've never listened to before

Pornography by The Cure
Jul 01 2025

I'm not quite sure what I just listened to and if I should love it or hate it

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jul 02 2025

This should not be slept on. I was skeptical when it first started. But I promised myself I wouldn't skip any of these albums, so I listened to the whole thing. This album has to be approached like an electronic symphony, not a rock and roll album. I had a beautiful journey through this album and it'll be a new favorite

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Jul 04 2025

I was completely jarred by the first track dropping the N-word left and right. I'm sure many people have rated the album 1/5 and stopped listening there. However I've made it a goal to listen through every album in full on this list. I had to read up on the history of this album to see that it's a satire of American culture, particularly the south. With this in mind, this album became much more interesting to listen to. This is an album that requires active listening and not turning on as background music at work. I'm not rating this album based on how much I enjoyed it but rather the effect it had on me. This is an album I'm going to be returning to understand better. Also the instrumentation is fantastic. It's some of the best I've ever listened to. Would recommend listening to the Revisionist History podcast episode on this album to better understand the context.

Be by Common
Jul 07 2025

I'm not a rap guy. However this is some of the best rap I've ever heard

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Jul 08 2025

Once cool music that has become dad music. Time comes for us all

Water From An Ancient Well by Abdullah Ibrahim
Jul 09 2025

Pretty decent jazz. A little too experimental to be easy on the ears. The intro to Song to Sathima gave me chills though.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Jul 10 2025

Most of these tracks are very hit or miss with me. But when they hit, they hit HARD. Favorite track is Time which is easily a 10/10. It gets stuck in my head for hours and I never get bored listening to it.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Jul 14 2025

Mom can we have Pink Floyd? We have Pink Floyd at home. Pink Floyd at home. I think with repeat listens I could come to love this album but it didn't do much for me the first time.

Jul 15 2025

I love Sam Cooke so much. Beautifully stunning voice and such fun to listen to. Best live album I've ever listened to.

Jul 16 2025

Great example of indie rock. Didn't do much for me personally but I can appreciate why other people would be into it.

Protection by Massive Attack
Jul 17 2025

One of my favorite parts of this project is seeing how different my music taste from everyone else. I'm legitimately baffed that anyone could like this music because I didn't enjoy a second of it.

Paris 1919 by John Cale
Jul 18 2025

Not bad but nothing to remember it by

Jul 21 2025

I legitimately don't understand why this is so popular and loved. Maybe I was just born in the wrong generation

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jul 22 2025

Would be 5 stars if there was a little more beard

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Jul 23 2025

Every track felt like it would take one line and repeat it for the whole song

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

This is the first I've listened to a full Black Sabbath album. I was expecting heavy metal for the whole album and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. I can see why they're a beloved band

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Jul 25 2025

I love how rock & roll musicians in the 70s were able to play in a way that's slow loose and so tight. It's an incredible talent

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Jul 28 2025

Fantastic rock music. Where has this been in my life?

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jul 29 2025

Like another review said, this album is "simple yet pleasant." Didn't love it but there's nothing to hate here.

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott
Jul 30 2025

I can admire old country for it's style, but it's not mine. Definitely belongs on this list though even if I didn't love it.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Jul 31 2025

I really hope the leopard gets his hearing back. Hopefully he learns to obey the headphones volume warning on his phone.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Aug 01 2025

Capture the spirit of the 90s, but mostly the parts we'd rather forget. The musical style and lyrical content didn't resonate with me. However I will admit that Alanis has an incredible voice.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Aug 04 2025

For every other album I've rated so far, I've given it a complete listen start to finish. However I had to give this one a second listen. I first listened to this with my headphones down low while working at my desk. I didn't enjoy my first listen very much and I assumed I was missing something. Second time around, I turned it up and discovered that there are fantastic tracks on this album. I'm sure with more listening I'd come to love it even more.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Aug 05 2025

I enjoyed this as much as I enjoy hearing a kid banging on pots and pans in the kitchen

Only By The Night by Kings of Leon
Aug 07 2025

That's some good 2000s indie that's aged super well. That was a great listen

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Aug 11 2025

I can understand how this would have been a big hit at the time, but listening to this and comparing it to the music that came after made it hard to enjoy

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Aug 12 2025

I always wonder who the target audience is for this type of music. Cause I sure ain't it

Microshift by Hookworms
Aug 13 2025

Kinda weird but not in a terrible way. Not that great either

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Aug 14 2025

Not something I'll listen to regularly, but worth listening to for historical and musical history. Absolutely belongs on this list

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Aug 18 2025

What's not to love about blues music?

Aug 19 2025

I'm not a part of the generation that grew up with this but I can absolutely see why it was so big

Country Life by Roxy Music
Aug 21 2025

Besides the album cover, there's nothing going for this album

Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Aug 22 2025

Unfortunately not much here is interesting. If you like punk rock I suppose it'd be a good album, but there's nothing that makes this album unique or something that everyone should listen to at least once. The music is still pretty good though.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sep 03 2025

There's a few iconic songs on this album I actually like listening to. This does not mean I think Red Hot Chili Peppers was actually a good band. In the words of my old guitar teacher "even though their music was bad, they performed naked on stage and that was enough to get them sales"

Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings
Sep 04 2025

I always appreciate the unpolished music of raw country. Great stuff

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Sep 05 2025

I'm glad this is a movie I'm never going to have to watch

Sep 08 2025

I'm going to take a stand and dislike this album even though it's one of the most beloved of all time. I do like the instrumentation and the lyrics. However Johnny Cash just can't hit the notes he's supposed to be singing. Maybe other people like that, but it makes it impossible for me to enjoy listening to him.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sep 09 2025

This might just be the single greatest album of classic American rock music

Is This It by The Strokes
Sep 11 2025

Defining of the 2000s but not necessarily in a good way.

GI by Germs
Sep 12 2025

Yeah punk rock. That's what this is.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Sep 15 2025

I can't understand how someone could listen to this and like it. Maybe politics?

Debut by Björk
Sep 16 2025

Worth a listen at least once. Probably won't come back to it.

Raw Power by The Stooges
Sep 17 2025

I like rock music, but I prefer medium well to rare

Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma
Sep 18 2025

Fantastic stuff. Everyone should have to listen to this at least once

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Sep 19 2025

Out of all the punk albums I've listened to as part of this project, I liked this one the most. Still not a punk fan though.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Sep 22 2025

THIS IS WHY I'M LISTENING TO THIS PROJECT! It's very rare that a piece of music can grab me so completely and so fast. I fell in love within the first 30 seconds and this album kept my attention for it's entire run time. This is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. The fact this was improvised live on a crappy piano is unbelievable. This album instantly made it on to my top 10 list. I could listen to this every day for the rest of my life and still not get sick of it. 5 stars is not enough.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Sep 23 2025

I'm not a hip hop guy and even I liked this

Kenza by Khaled
Sep 24 2025

I'm glad I was exposed to the style. I probably won't listen to it again, but it was worth doing once. And unlike everyone else here, I actually liked the cover of Imagine

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Sep 25 2025

Well that's an hour of my life I'll never get back. 2 stars because there was an occasional 45 second section I didn't hate

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Sep 30 2025

Good classic country. Nothing to hate here. But not enough to make me listen to it again.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Oct 02 2025

You can only appreciate the talent on display here from the live recording. Great showcase of what jazz musicians are capable of

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Oct 03 2025

Has all the elements of great rock & roll music but it doesn't come together enough to make this album legendary. Not bad though

Disintegration by The Cure
Oct 06 2025

All the songs have the same feel and unfortunately this feel did not vibe with me

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Oct 07 2025

One of the few albums I didn't force myself to listen to every track. I try not to consider myself a prude or a puritan, but I can not handle lyrics this explicit

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Oct 08 2025

Not offensive in anyway which I can respect. Unfortunately there's nothing that stands out

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Oct 09 2025

Nothing grabbed my attention. Didn't hate it, but won't remember anything about it at all.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Oct 14 2025

Oh, this is why people like Black Sabbath.

Closer by Joy Division
Oct 15 2025

So much better rock music out there

Oct 17 2025

I'm sure someone out there really likes this type of music. But that someone is not me

Hotel California by Eagles
Oct 21 2025

Hottest take of all time. I like the Eagles

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Oct 22 2025

What a voice. I could listen to Stevie Wonder for hours. How does he do it?

New Forms by Roni Size
Oct 23 2025

One of the rare albums I did not finish, but in my defense the 20th anniversary edition is 5hrs long. All of these songs are bad. Who enjoys listening to this?

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Oct 24 2025

I feel like this is the genre I usually love, but this just didn't quite do it for me

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
Oct 29 2025

I initially thought I'd hate this album, but I actually found it rather pleasant to listen to

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Oct 31 2025

Not what I usually listen to but I enjoyed it well enough

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Nov 03 2025

I enjoyed the listen but there was a little too much funk for me to enjoy

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Nov 04 2025

Dripping with creativity. My favorite Beatles album.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Nov 05 2025

There are people who like funk. And I'm not one of them.

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Nov 06 2025

Listened to the original version instead of the clean version cause I'm not a pearl-clutching grandma. But that doesn't mean I like metal

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Nov 07 2025

I'd rather swallow razor blades before listening to this again.

Rio by Duran Duran
Nov 11 2025

Actually found this kind of grating to listen to. Unfortunate because I think this album has a lot of good things going for it. Too bad my ears didn't enjoy it

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Nov 12 2025

I didn't know Neil Young wrote songs that could sound like this

OK Computer by Radiohead
Nov 19 2025

You all are wrong.

Blur by Blur
Dec 31 2025

Album cover is cool at least

Eagles by Eagles
Jan 30 2026

I actually kinda like the Eagles

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Feb 02 2026

If it's got hammond organ, then I'm going to like it

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Feb 05 2026

Has some 10/10 songs but doesn't end up being a 10/10 album

American Idiot by Green Day
Feb 06 2026

More rock than punk which suits my taste

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Feb 09 2026

Usually not a fan of funk and soul but I find this pleasant to listen to.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Feb 11 2026

Weird way to make eggs

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Feb 12 2026

Worth listening to at least once. Yes the voice has way too much vibrato, but the vocals were beautiful and melodic. The background instruments were fantastic. And the lyrics were intriguing. I don't plan to listen to this against but I'm glad I did at least once.

Feb 13 2026

Country really started growing on me when I started learning to play it. Honky Tonk may sound cheesy, but it's one of the most fun instruments to play

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Feb 16 2026

Normally not a Pumpkins fan, but I found most of the song here fun enough to listen to

Dust by Screaming Trees

Didn't actively hate it but didn't enjoy any of it

C'est Chic by CHIC

Never listened to CHIC before. Couldn't believe there were this many iconic songs on one album

The Bends by Radiohead

I am not a Radiohead guy

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys

One of the few albums I couldn't make it through. I do not like hip hop

A Short Album About Love by The Divine Comedy
Apr 24 2026

Very over the top with cheesy lyrics but it commits so hard that it sounds good. Overall pleasant to listen to.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age

I liked the part where every song repeats the 5 second sound clip

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival

It's CCR. Impossible to not like.

Bad Company by Bad Company

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
May 01 2026

There's some absolutely fantastic songs on this album but a few were extremely repetitive and ruined what would otherwise have been a fantastic experience.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
May 21 2026

Some of the beats were pretty good. Not the worst rap I've ever heard. But I still don't like rap.

Some of the better electronic music I've listened to. There's some really good beats. But sometimes it hangs out on the most annoying sounds known to man for minutes at a time and I have to skip to the next song. Was almost good to listen to.

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jun 04 2026

The instruments sound great. Questionable lyric quality

The White Album by Beatles
Jun 08 2026

I'm starting to think the Beatles might be underrated.
