A lovely soul album.

I do like the occasional Nina Simone song, but I find her voice starts to grate on me after a while. Lilac Wine is classic.

I'm giving one star for the title and album cover. I have tried countless times over the last 35 years to like this album. I never get past the first 3 tracks. I have absolutely no idea what the fuss is about. Terrible album!

Noisy alt-rock. What's not to like?

I've only every really listened to 'This Corrosion", which I love. This album is extremely good although it has a very 80's feel to it.

This, unbelievably was the first time I've ever listened to the whole album in one sitting. A revelation indeed. Brilliant album.

I was listening to a lot of electronica and punk/new wave when this was released. It took me until about 15 years later to actually listen to the full album. What a magnificent album it is. Just wonderful.

The turmoil and troubles in the making of this album are well documented. How they did it is a mystery but they did. A genuine classic album.

What a voice Karen Carpenter had. Just glorious. The trouble is that a lot of these songs just sound weak.

I can absolutely appreciate the musicianship, I just don't like the music the musicians make.
