I am told by this site that I am a generous reviewer. I cannot be generous here. I think hair metal is not for me.

Sure the songs are kind of all similar, but it's a wonderfully soothing listen nonetheless.

The only reason this didn't get 1 star is because of "Black Hole Sun," an oasis in a desert of grunge.

Want to basically hear Machine Head again, but with like half an hour of extra gratuitous solos? Have I got an album for you!

This would have gotten three stars, but "Sir Psycho Sexy" is so bad it is a one-star deduction on its own.

The three singles have transcended the overall corniness of this album and I actually liked "Wild in the Streets" but the rest is pretty awful.

As far as I'm concerned, this is THE grunge band and an incredible album.

Some extremely biting dark folk music.

Somehow I got two jazz-inspired rock albums in a row and this is less compelling than Steely Dan's Aja.

I had this album when I was much younger and re-listening all these years later, I can appreciate the two sides of this album for the very different sides of the group they bring out. Big Boi goes hard on Speakerboxxx and has tons of features, with incredible bangers like "Ghettomusick" and "Bowtie." Andre 3000 on The Love Below experiments a ton, with several songs barely even featuring rap at all. It's unsurprising in hindsight that his first post-Outkast album was so different from anything he had done before. What a treat this double album has been to reflect on!
