A classic - sparse and beautiful.
Hits, but feels a little empty/soulless.
Peak Britpop. Distinct Sgt. Pepper vibes.
Big 80s but better songs than I expected.
Nope. Dumb lyrics and not all that musically interesting. Probably would have hit different if I heard it first as a high school kid.
Just ok - not a huge fan of the vocal style
Revivalists without much original to say. Just listen to The Animals or Tge Doors.
In the genre I’d rather have Massive Attack or Portishead.
Horror show album cover. Solid to above average Brit Pop musically. A pleasant listen but certainly not indispensable.
Interesting, but I wouldn’t put it “lost classic” territory
I appreciate the skill/talent involved in making this. It just doesn’t speak to me at all.
The opening tracks are a slog, but the hit parade saves the day. Mother is an abomination.
Like the beats and production. Lyrics - meh.
Liked this more than I thought I would. It has a wild ferocity in the playing.
Hits are good, but don’t love the 80s hair metal influences drifting in.
It’s ok - but not as good as Sweetheart of the Rodeo
Expected to like this more today. Quincy Jones put in a hell of a shift here and MJ could sing, but it all feels hollow and fake.
