If Gwen Stefani sang in an alt rock band

I am now cultured
Might be only album from my listening history on this list
Classic
Enjoyable enough
No thanks M&M
Love
The 80s personified
Quintessence
Too bad he’s a terrible person
Classic
Too Andy Warhol for me
No thanks
Surprisingly more enjoyable than I expected it to be
Jazz music is best experienced live
All because of Hurt
Weirdly reminiscent of Tim Burton films
I prefer 70s Bowie
Meh. Likes the instrumentation
Strangely nostalgic for some reason
Part lofi part obnoxious radio show
This was so fun! Why don’t people make music like this anymore? I probably am just ignorant
Interesting
Call me basic but I prefer RHCP’s more mainstream albums
Reminds me of Sesame Street
Really great! Love his voice a lot
More of a high three than a full 4 stars. Heroes is a classic and the ambient songs of the second half are interesting.
Catchy and fun. Would have loved to hear it live
Reminds me of being in my figure drawing classes
Enjoyable, different and interesting
Absolutely classic
Interesting
It was fine. Catchy but also somewhat repetitive for my taste.
There are some sings I liked, others I didn’t. It was somewhat repetitive as well
If this is the album we have to thank for modern Latin music, the. This deserves five stars. That and it’s super fun.
Fun and funky. The first two songs are the best
The forerunner to some of my favorite artists?? Ie, Dixie Chicks, Kacey Musgraves, Band Perry, and dare I even say, Taylor Swift??
Hmm maybe not
Very 90s. It’s the synth drum set that got me.
At first it seemed to blend into all the other retro albums we’ve listened to so far, but then I realized I was actually enjoying myself and listened to the whole album at least twice while driving around on Saturday
Cool and smooth. Could easily listen to for hours on repeat
Really enjoyed Rollin Stone and the first track, the rest of the album was ok.
Felt thrown into a 90s teenage Rom com
Makes nice background music
Enjoyable, a bit repetitive, but I love the energy and the classic rock sound
Pretty great
Not my favorite. Every song sounded exactly the same. I do love Frank Sinatra but I got so bored with this one.
Quite fun
Kinda boring
Really fun! A little repetitive at times but the guitar was awesome.
Fun and catchy. Can definitely see the roots of house music here.
Fun
How did I not know about this band? I’m sure if I had discovered them in 2011 I would have been obsessed. As it is it has a nostalgic sound without me ever having heard them before.
Super
Kinda boring
Fun to run to
I’ve had Me and Bobby McGee stuck in my head for the last 24 hours
Fun felt maybe a little derivative
Really like the instrumentation. Don’t love the style of singing all the time but his voice is smooth enough I don’t mind it as much as some others
Awesome.
If only every song was like Take Me Out
Obviously love Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova.
So great. Her voice is perfection.
If you look past the violent and somewhat sexist songs, this isn’t the worst. I like his voice at least.
Some classics here. Fun vocals and bluesy instrumentation.
Not a huge fan of his voice but I like how hypnotic the songs are
Not really my thing
Fun. Don’t love the vocals, and the songs are too long and repetitive. But fun to exercise to.
Fun jazzy and experimental. A little more chaotic than our other jazz albums so far.
Fine. Sounds like most other psychedelic albums from this era
Classic. Songs I’ve been listening to forever. And will probably keep listening to forever.
It’s giving Robbie from Gravity Falls
Pretty great
A more British Beatles but not as charming
The monologue was not my fave. But his voice is smooth and funky. He was definitely ahead of his time. Just wish the album was longer.
There are some songs here that I will be listening to again. But there are also some songs that border on outdated and a little culturally appropriated.
As Wes said, “this is grandma music”
SO GOOD
Boring Boring Boring Wait the coconut song? Cool Boring Boring boring
Fun and retro. Felt kind of samey after a while.
Such fun. 80s rock is the epitome of classic rock.
Super fun. Some of their weirdest songs but that makes them so great.
Fun, sometimes
Not really my cup of tea
This is my genre
Enjoyable! Quite liked it
Liked the instrumental but not the vocals as much. Not my least favorite but the guitar was great
We listened to this album, but I don’t remember anything about it. I think I liked it? But honestly the fact that I can’t remember anything about it says loads.
Fine I guess
I appreciate it culturally. And live it would probably be awesome. But just casual listening it’s not really my thing.
Love me some Joni
Quite fun and classic
This whole time I thought R. E. M., Styx, and REO Speedwagon were the same thing
I love Joni Mitchell. Have I already mentioned that?
Weirdly nostalgic. It’s reminding me of when I was really little living in Texas in the 90s.
Not really my thing
Way better than the last Velvet Underground album we listened to
It’s Ella. What more do I need to say?
Weirdly enjoyable. Much more than I expected.
I liked the instrumentation, but not always the lead vocalists voice
Still don’t like his voice
Some really famous songs on here
Kinda fun
Yeah no. Not my thing.
Quite good. I could listen on repeat all day (and I have)
This rings of my adolescence
Enjoyable. Inoffensive. Never listened to the full album.
Definitely a work of art. I love Kendrick’s poetic style and exploration of deeper themes. Also his ability to say things the way they are.
It was fine I guess
Fun but felt like pretty generic rock
Fun and very nostalgic
I’ve finally listened to a Radiohead album
Objectively a good album. Quite enjoy Jimi Hendrix
Very calming until the growling started
The voice that defined a decade
It was chill
It’s too bad he’s an awful person
There is something so soothing and nostalgic about an acoustic guitar and Wille Nelson’s croon
The number of Beatles-like bands on this list is astounding
Very Daisy Jones and the Six coded
If Gwen Stefani sang in an alt rock band
Darker and spookier than their other albums
Aww she’s just a baby. Not my favorite Dolly but it’s alright
So long and so boring
Fun I guess
Fun precursor to some of my favorite bands. But didn’t love the voice much
I listened to this album on Friday and don’t remember anything about it
Makes me want to dance
Haunting and modern. Quite liked it.
Just classic and so fun
Very interesting
Fun but kind of repetitive
There is an over abundance of 70 bands on this list
Two too many songs about murdering your girlfriend for cheating on you
Michael Jackson sound alike
Inoffensive and nice, but kind of forgettable
Really fun! Too bad their most famous song from this album is my least favorite of theirs ever.
Fine. Songs grew repetitive and mor monotonous as the album went on. Though I did like Once in a Lifetime
Perfect ambience for a tavern
Just gorgeous and beautiful and iconic
Classic, and I like the timbre of her voice. But she didn’t sing with much variety from song to song which made the album kind of blend together for me.
Yeah that’s what I’m talking about.
It was fine. Retro and classic, but repetitive and somewhat misogynistic.
Not fun and I like musical theater
Smooth and strangely old school
I really love the sound but realized I do tend to prefer lyrics with some meaning
A more mellow Of Monsters and Men
Not as weird as I was expecting
Classic
Low key gave me a headache for some reason
So weird. There were a few vibes tracks that were somewhat interesting. But mostly not my thing.
