I mean, I get it, but really couldn't force myself to finish the whole album
Is it an excellent album? Probably not. Is it catchy and perfect for daydreaming sessions ? Absolutely!
Favorite tracks: Love Goes On and Was There Anything I Could Do
It's not my usual kind of vibe, but it's still good and I actually went back afterwards to listen to it again. Great find!
The album’s musical style is overall pleasant. However, all the songs sound very similar and stay within the same melancholic mood. I enjoyed the beginning of the listening experience, but I quickly grew bored as it went on. 2.5/5
I can't believe I put off listening to Linkin Park for so long for some shitty reasons. This album is incredible!
Nice album that I was glad to discover and will definitely listen to again.
It kind of gives me a Phil Collins vibe, for some reason.
So happy that I discovered this one, I love the vibes of this album !
Favorite tracks : Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Girl VII, and She’s the One.
I just can’t bring myself to enjoy the singer’s whiny voice. It sounds like a never-ending "boo hoo, not all men" rant set to music, which unsurprisingly matches the singer’s reportedly abusive behavior.
It's nice, the songs are catchy, but they all sound very similar to each other, so none of them really stands out.
Fun and punchy album. Glad I discovered it!
Favorite tracks : Our lips are sealed, Lust to love, We got the beat
I think the album is great and original, but I had a hard time fully getting into it, especially the first half of the record.
I really appreciated the songs Liability, Writer in the dark and supercut.
3.5/5
Nice album, altough out of my usual comfort zone. I have mixed feelings about it, because I appreciated the melodies, but struggled to appreciate the voice of the singer.
However I could definitely see myself listening to this again with a hot chocolate and a book by my side !
Favorite tracks : Three Hours and 'Cello song.
Good and consistent album, I will definitely put it again as background music. I didn't find a song that particularly stood out for me, but the album as a whole is enjoyable.
I already knew the most famous tracks from this album, but hey, bangers always bang !
Like, sure, thanks Lenny for building this garden for us, but no one asked you to do it in the first place.
2.5/5
This album really surprised me, as I didn’t think I’d like this style of music !
Favorite Track : Brass Buttons
3.5/5
For some unknow reason I never clicked with Aerosmith. This album bored me to death...
I can definitely see the potential, and teenage me would probably have loved this album and plastered her room with Elliott Smith posters.
Favorite tracks: Speed Trials, Pictures of Me, Say Yes
3.5/5
Chill and comforting vibes.
Favorite tracks : Doves in the Wind, Prom
I really hope no one ever asks me to describe what this album sounds, because I have no idea what the heck I just listened to.
Objectively the album is incredible, but for me personally it just lacked that little something that makes me fall in love with.
I will probably give it a second listen later to see if my opinion changes.
4.5/5
I have mixed feelings about this one. There were a couple of fun tracks that I enjoyed listening to, but it felt overall a bit lengthy.
It's a solid 2 (and a half!) for me.
I liked the vibe of this album :)
When I heard the first song I thought I had found one of my favorite albums... But then I had the impression of listening to the same song over and over. I got completely bored by the end of it.
Also, are we going to talk about how problematic the lyrics of some songs are?
Nice album, but it didn’t live up to the expectations I had about it.
WOW WOW WOW!
Favorite track : Pick up your feelings
The album itself is solid and consistent, but to me the songs are completely unmemorable. I listened to the album twice and still wouldn’t be able to tell you which songs are on it besides Jump and Panama.
Overall, these are familiar and reliable tunes that would work well to introduce someone to what I perceive as old-fashioned rock.
3.5/5
I usually don't like this type of music. While this album did not completely changed my mind, I surprisingly found some of the tracks enjoyable.
Fav Track : Keep the car running, Black Wave/Bad Vibrations.
DNF, Too much nasal singing and harmonica for my taste.
Nice melodies. I had listened to Nick Drake’s first album before, and I actually enjoyed this one more !
3.5/5
Would I be listening to this album every day? Probably not.
Would I listen to it when I want to see the whole world burn? Hell yeah!!!
3.5/5
Not my favorite album, but it was fun to listen to. I’ll keep it on hand for spooky board game sessions with friends!
I expected a lot from this album, but I actually found it rather plain and boring.
I only really enjoyed the track "Misty Roses."
2.5/5
This is the first Björk's album I'm listening to. I really appreciated the mix of lyrical, mystical, emotional and electronical vibes that emanates from this album.
4.5/5
Either the album is too conceptual for my taste, or it tries to be more than it really is.
I am not familiar with David Bowie's discography, so I was surprised how different this album sounds from his previous album I listened to.
Favorite track : Fascination
3.5/5
I won't say it's a masterpiece, and you definitely need to be in a specific mood to enjoy this album, but if that's the case the album has some good tracks with surprising melodies.
Favorite Tracks : Of Lillies and Remains, Hollow Hills, Kick in the Eye, In Fear of Fear
The tracks sound dated and very similar to each other, but they also have a really comforting and familiar vibe that I like.
Favorite tracks : Treason, Reward, Kilimanjaro
3.5/5
HEAR ME OUT, guys, besides basket case and When I come Around, this album is fairly unmemorable...
I was not familiar with Meat Loaf's music, so this was a nice discovery ! I enjoyed the album as a whole, although no track emerged as a favorite.
Perfect album to listen to on a sunny day :)
I fear this one is a bit too abstract and trancy for me. Also, the album feels somehow unfinished.
My PhD didn't prevent me from loving this album 😄
Great tracks, of couse, but the album isn't very memorable for me, even after two listens.
3.5/5
I only partially enjoyed the second half of the album.
Favorite track : The only Way
Nice, but it felt a bit redundant.
I really enjoyed the melodies on this album. It's exactly the kind of alternative rock I like! It feels very dreamy and dark at the same time.
Edit: I listened to Kid A just a few days later, and I found it far more consistent, powerful and groundbreaking !
Rating: 3.5/5
I can't stand violent and abusive scumbags
This is the type of music I have been listening to lately, so I enjoyed it. It's definitely not a revolutionary album, but it's the type of background music enjoyable during chill work sessions (or alternatively for pole dance sessions!).
I suppose it wasn't conceived as such, but this album depicts perfectly how I feel when I have to get through a working day after a sleepless night.
Very consistent album.
The tunes reminded me of the music we used to listen to when my father drove at night during holiday trips, and I sat next to him!
Favorite tracks : Why worry, Ride accross the river.
On an artistic level, this album is undeniably good. However, this is the third Bowie album I've received in a few weeks, and I appreciated it less than the others.
As expected, THIS ALBUM BLEW MY MIND 🤯
Fun, simple and lighthearted
3.5/5
I fear this one is too much raw and dirty for me to enjoy it.
So simple yet so effective, powerful and intimate.
Not the most memorable album I have listen to so far, but it was still a nice discovery.
Great discovery, the record has very comforting and soulful vibes.
Favorite tracks : Son of a preacher man, Just a little lovin'
The record started of strong, but then it got repetitive and boring.
Not my usual cup of tea, but it was still a nice discovery and fun discovery. I didn't think it was possible to have a record with that many tracks (28!) that last under an hour, but they made it 😄.
Favorite track : as we go up, we go down.
I have mixed feelings about this record. While I did enjoy the first tracks and they even gave me chills, the execution falls short. I think the album could have been great, or at least more listenable, if it were half as long as it currently is.
Meh (although I liked The Humpty Dance)
Nice melodies, will definitely listen again to this record.
Not familiar with this band. It was a nice discovery, I liked the Metal Guru track, but besides that the album is rather forgetable.
I am not familiar with this band. The record is not horrible, but it's rather dull and boring.
I was not familiar with Sufjan Stevens' work, I'm really glad I discovered it thanks to the generator !
Regarding the album it is consistent and listenable as a whole which I appreciate. No tracks stood out in particular but all have nice melodies and vibe.
I hesitated between 3 and 4 stars. I see why this is a classic and enjoyed listening to it. Yet, this record didn't resonate with me as much as some other albums on the list.
3.5/5
So 80s-coded yet effective.
