I don't have the musical sense to understand why this is good. I'm sure that to many people, this is an objective masterpiece -- otherwise it wouldn't be on this list. But I don't really have the patience for twenty minute-long jam band sessions. At best, I'd put it on as background study music.
this just rules. I don't know anything about this genre of music, and I'd never heard of Chao, but this was such an enjoyable experience. it's sort of beneficial that I feel like I don't know what's going on (due to both language and genre), because I can get very lost in the music!
First know that I'm not a proghead so I had no idea who these dudes were, nor did i understand wtf was going on for the entire duration of this album. Usually i have zero patience for these meandering, self indulgent 20 min tracks. But unlike the allman bros, this was actually fun and entertaining to listen to. so, based on my enjoyment of the experience rather than my actual knowledge of the music, i'm giving this a 5. deal with it

I really liked this. I feel a bit silly for convincing myself that I "didn't like metal" even though I had never really given it a try. It's definitely not something that I could listen to all-day-every-day, but a lot of the songs pack a real punch and I loved the political lyrics.

pretty good! predictably, the songs with the most plays were my favorites.
honestly a bit underwhelming ... ofc the popular songs were enjoyable, but not really affecting. other stuff didn't hit at all and many of the songs were needlessly long.

"have I carved enough, my lord?" "child, you are a bone."
I had to take a break in the middle to listen to Nelly because I was bored
Remember when this guy advocated for the death of Salman Rushdie via death fatwa
sad I didn't like it more bc I love The Killing Moon so much.
Good, but not as fun as manu chao. Songs sound nice but dont really stick out to me
Listened to this album twice before -- O woman you!! But the end lags a little bit. I love the energy of precious things, happy phantom, and girl :)
i don't know how to rate this, but it FEELS awesome, so i bet it IS awesome. Also this dude had like 27 wives
Easily the most influential album of my childhood + teen years, one of my all-time favorites. No way to say how much this record means to me. Every note feels measured and intentional without losing any of the emotion behind it. And of course, I'm a sucker for a good theme. Wake Up, Tunnels, and Backseat send a chill down my spine a thousand listens later. I love you, Arcade Fire.
I just adore this album. it's twee as fuck, and I don't care!! It's awesome!! I feel weird giving it 5 stars because I think their output continues to improve in the next two releases, but ... oh well!
U know how i feel abt these jam albums. Also im becoming harsher i feel like a grumpy old man
Took a nap to this and it was the most peaceful 55 mins of my life
I like donald fagen but it felt a bit samey. no real "wow" moment.
"both of us" and "it doesn't matter" were bangers, but that's only 2 bangers out of 21 songs, or approximately 1/10th banger. that math adds up to NO MORE than 2 stars. sorry stephen </3
This is just reflektor but 4 years late and not as awesome
Tight. Obv they can't all be silver springs, won't fault the other songs for that ... no reason to give less than a 5.
I cant. im sorry but i cant. 12 minutes ... yes i know you're THE frank zappa ... but i need to stop letting men convince me to listen to songs over 7 mins ... this is getting ridiculous
I really loved this. I don't think I fully absorbed it, but I'm going to give it a 5 because there's nothing i DIDN'T like about it, and I think I'll continue to like it more and more as I re-listen.
I feel bad bc i really liked the first album of theirs i listened to (...Like Clockwork), but this didn't affect me as much and felt a little bit too long. "If Only" and "Avon" were my favorites.
Otherside is one of the greatest songs of all time. But this is a little too long :,(
I love the cure ... I really do! But there's only two songs on here I would revisit.
It was okay. I don't think it deserves to be on this list, but I don't want to be a hater. So let's go with a 3.
Only david bowie could make a 10 minute song that I would actually choose to listen to multiple times
I appreciate their influence on later groups like Iron Maiden that are more my speed. Unfortunately this doesn't do a whole lot for me. Nothing personal !!
Good but didn't hit the same as my slime shivkumar sharma. I am woefully unqualified to speak on this topic. Plz disregard arbitrary star rating
