Kid A
RadioheadI've always found Radiohead extremely boring, and nothing has changed.
I've always found Radiohead extremely boring, and nothing has changed.
Varied sound, very interesting and textured. Weirder than I thought it'd be. Kinda noodly, but some deep jams.
Regal but swinginβ
Classic
Good, but gets a little old after a while
Surprisingly interesting. Somewhere between Prince and Mooney Suzuki, or Elliot Smith even.
A few cool moments. But mostly just boring.
A little forced, maybe? Nice melodies.
Cool and snotty midwestern hard rock
This sounds like slint spiderland sounds. Fugazi but worse.
Fuzzy and young
Not what I expected. Cinematic, and often quite lovely.
A moment in time. Prince's sound?
Fun, weird, tons of samples. Skits that started the trend?
Fine. Better than I thought, but boring.
Like Devo, but more stuck up and less fun.
Crunchy dusk music from a house in the woods. A moment in time.
Kind of interesting musically. But nothing grabs me. And it sounds like there is weird pedophile-y stuff (really). Like a poorly fitted brown 70's suit with ornamental lapels.
Meh. It's interesting I guess? Too showy, voice too soft, too cute.
Didn't really know about Elastica, but had heard "Connection." Angular and melodic, poppy British (?) post-punk.
I've always found Radiohead extremely boring, and nothing has changed.
Dark and dangerous, but also too theatrical. I just don't LOVE Bowie.
Man this must have been crazy to hear in 1970. Dark, foreboding, hard but melodic. I prefer other hard rock from the era or Paranoid though.
Bright, sexy, classy. Floating in the city breeze. My favorite song on the album is "Sunshine," which has lowest plays out of all of them on spotify.
Well written 'tambourine on the 2 and 4' pop rock. Nothing wrong with it. A little boring though.
Moody but bright, perhaps reflective of the musician. Or the location and time?
Just, wow. One of my favorite jazz albums.
A couple okay songs, a couple bad ones. I feel about this album now the way I did when it came out.
Not horrible, but too dramatic and prog-y for my taste. Give me the pop songs!
A mood, to be sure. Kind of boring.
Classic.
A jam or two, but mostly kinda sappy and boring. βClowns caress you, figures undress your fearβ¦β
Real hard and real groovy. Crazy that this came out in 1969. Bitches Brew but rock.
Soft and lovely, but haunting.
More creative than Damned Damned Damned, but I prefer that straight ahead rock. You can tell with this album that they were heading toward glam/prog...
One of my top ten albums? One moment for this one stands out in particular, although there have been several. One afternoon in our sun-drenched little apartment, my future wife and I laid next to each other on the ground and just listened to this album. Sublime.
A little dated, like all early hip hop, but full of jams. This must have been so exciting when it first came out.
Yet another album from Dad. They don't call him the king for nothing.
Awesome.
Not a fan of futuristic music, or EDM or R&B. Not my thing.
This came out during a time in my life where I was avoiding anything at all popular. Now I finally know these guys. Different than I thought. Like the strokes but more polite.
Straightforward grunge rock, a little more U2 than Nirvana. My opinion of Pearl Jam has always been about 3 stars, except for the music video where he jumps off the rafters.
Not as good as live, but still pretty darn good. Turns out Free Bird is totally awesome. Thanks for suggesting I take another listen, Dad.
Such a good, tight album. JW's best.
This album sounds like 2020.
The best late-night drive.
Loose and rowdy. They sure don't make prison shows the way they used to.
Some good songs, some boring songs. Not my favorite LZ.
i can't help but compare this to Funeral, and it doesn't come close. I had to look up Win Butler after so many reviewers here mentioned (typically) that they like the music but don't like him. I'm not sure he's guilty of anything, and if he is I don't care. This album would get 3 stars regardless.
Boring. Cool that's it's African, I guess?
Jazzy and hip, obviously. A little meandering for my taste.
90s alt pop.
Really good, direct, and affecting. I heard the other day that when Trent Reznor first heard Hurt, he realized it was no longer his song.
Classic Merle, I probably wouldn't be able to tell this album from his other earlier ones. But great stuff.
Didn't know these guys, apparently it's a British thing. Not bad, not great.
From the intro, with top billin', subway noises, and west coast trolling, this album hits hard. One of the classic examples of golden era hip hop, skits and all.
So that's who wrote all these catchy songs! Pretty fun album, both angular and smooth.
The author must be British...
Messy and seems long.
Didn't think I'd like it, but pretty cool actually. Very cinematic, cooler John Hughes.
If you're in a Nick Drake kind of mood, nothing hits better. Wearing a sweater looking sadly out the window.
Lots of jams!
Also better than I thought it was gonna be. Listening on good headphones helps.
Some good songs, but too British for me
Apparently this album marked the beginning of a new funkier direction for the Temptations. But it's not the most interesting funk direction. It's not bad...
Some great melodies, obviously very Beatles-y. But too peppy and clean production for my taste.
Like heavy dark syrup.
Cool soundscapes. Well, not cool exactly. Kind of dorky. But cool.
