Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1
George Michael4 out of 5 supermodels agree the single is the only jam on this record.

I dunno…it’s like the sonic ‘candification’ of a phoebe brigers record.
I don’t know very much about hip hop. So maybe this is great but it wasn’t for me.
Not my favourite record…but that guitar tone is so distinct and perfect.
Ugh. I couldn’t
A couple of beautiful jams and a lot of beep boop. I owned this album and a lot of it sounded unfamiliar to me….and a little (a lot) Kid A inspired. They were effing excellent live.
Perfect. No notes. Not something I listen to on the regular but such a great record. The call and response in Mojo Working is one of the most joyous (and one of my favourite) relics of rock and roll.
I’ve never listened to album kiss (only radio kiss). I listened to this twice. Imagine being 13 when this came out and then two years later getting into cheap trick and thin lizzy.
I wasn’t feeling this one until in the ghetto. Needs a little ‘never been to Spain’ lol
1. Oh golly that’s a lot of mudhoney. 2. Ok, this is fun. The ole mudhoney clomp - love it. 3. This rules! 4. Who you driving NOW! 5. Nirvana sux. Mudhoney 4eva! 6. Okay, that’s enough.
It all sounds like one long song…
I’ve never actively listened to Zappa. I loved this!!! It’s hilarious and it sounds great and the musicianship is excellent. Stand outs ‘go cry on someone else’s shoulder’, ‘trouble every day’ wowie zowie. So good.

Huh. Meh. I used to really be into Beth Orton’s music. Upon reading their bio, she used to sing for them - makes sense. Don’t think I can spin this entire record.
Enjoyable but nothing spectacular. The Ray Charles cover was fun.
I feel like I should appreciate this more but it sounded like the musical equivalent of community theatre.
I love these songs. Bring it on home is an all time fave and I love his version of the Tennessee Waltz - the live recording didn’t do much to augment. Classics.
I remember Mrs Robinson but never got into this. 90’s classic. Rudderless-great. Very much a time and place for this one.
Loved this. Loved it so much I went to taz to buy the record at lunch. 10 minute version of papa was a rolling stone. Yes, please. The first time I ever saw your face was a skip but a solid album front to back.
I can appreciate the feat of making this album. It just doesn’t hook me.
It was okay. Didn’t give this one a deep listen. Love pretty in pink. I love his voice as well.
Classic. Tv party is a rompin’ good time.
It took me years to get into post ok computer Radiohead which is now so embarrassing to say.
This one is in the record collection. I love this record so so so much. teenage kicks, and the rest of it, is a masterpiece.
It’s a beautiful record - I was surprised how much I enjoyed. But it’s also very much boomer jams.
I don’t know very much about hip hop. So maybe this is great but it wasn’t for me.
A record I did not like when i was 15 and very like now.
This was bad.
What’s up noise. I didn’t hate it but it started to make be feel woozy weird which is probably the point.
Five stars for me. Special place in my heart because we spent hours listening to this album at our place on monastery lane. It’s also just beautiful and cool.
It’s good. It’s classic (rock). It’s not what grabbed me from that era as a youngster and listening now, the record all kinda globs together for me.
This was good - something I would have never listened to without this! Probably won’t pull it out again.
Fucking Donovan.
Meh - sounded like a movie of a 90’s lounge. Like a scene on sex and the city or something.
Classic. Bought this at the Rideau place mall (?)
Wish it wasn’t all ballads but this is beautiful.
Classic. It’s all over now baby blue is one of my favourite Dylan cuts. It’s the bridge album in his career…connecting the folky folk to that electric guitar.
I know he’s great but I don’t like his records……
it was okay…I don’t think I’d return to this tho.
Equal parts pretty and silly.
There’s some highs and lows on this but I love it
I found it very boring.
Masterpiece. Formative record for me. I used to record high and dry off the radio in grade 7 I was obsessed with how it sounded so big and spacious…the chorus of black star - incredible. The video for Just! Key 90’s album that still hits for me.
I feel like these songs are the inspiration for every jam found on a John Hughes movie. It’s a rough form of a style/genre/time I really like…
I love this. I know he’s a legend but I still think it’s the best music to dance to…of all time. What it must have sounded like when came it out. 🤯
This is my fav Floyd album with bullet.
The hits are amazing…but I found some other jams a little lacking. A classic of course!
A classic and a Bowie album I’m not super familiar with…funny that the 2 singles are buried late on the Bside.
I wanted to like this but I really did not…
Perfect from start to finish.
Kinda surprised how much it still hit. This is an institution of time and place for me and maybe that’s why I don’t find the dance rock as cheesy as I might otherwise.
Shot a few holes into the ceiling of Zaphod’s with my imaginary gun to this one… It’ll forever be the soundtrack to indie sleaze but there are some serious jams on it and love the nods to classic punk.
Classic. Rock.
Ugh. I couldn’t
Formative. Dubbed it off my high school heartthrob in grade 10.
This still hits. Surprised!
Hmmmm it’s okay. I know never let me down again via a smashing pumpkins cover.
This was fun!! Looks like they were the inspiration to some great names. I always find it funny what doesn’t cross the pond.
This album is jam packed with every song ever featured in every movie ever.
She’s definitely a mood but I found this beautiful. When she incorporates a more pop song structure to her music (like track 4 or 5 on this) it’s exceptional.
This record is very good. It’s taken some time, me and Rush, but I’m making up for lost time.
Into it. Her voice has had such a lasting influence but it takes a beat to get into.
4 out of 5 supermodels agree the single is the only jam on this record.
I could appreciate it but in general 90’s hip hop just isn’t my thing.
This was pretty meh for me…sloppy classic rock. But I love that song hush.
It was good. No star track jumped out and I probably won’t spin it again but it’s a decent album.
The flamingo guitar in the last track was a cool surprise. Ummm I know shit about jazz - but it was okay. Go Jays! Yesavage!
Friggin fiver for me. The battle of el goodo, baby’s beside me - masterpieces. ‘I never travel far…’
I guess now is the time I tell the group I really do not like reggae…appreciate this is a classic tho.
Nightswimming is an all time top five favourite song. This album is a masterpiece.
Not my favourite record…but that guitar tone is so distinct and perfect.
Very Duran Duran…didn’t love it and didn’t make it through a lot…
This record was a game changer and some of the songs are excellent. But I just can’t. Yasi says you need to be a Californian to fully appreciate this band and it’s my easy way out of not liking it.
I dunno…it’s like the sonic ‘candification’ of a phoebe brigers record.
It’s a classic, of course. Don’t look back in anger is a perfect song, the reincarnation of Hey Jude. Guitar solo in champagne super nova is an all time favourite. However, this record will always remind me of a French trip in grade 7 when the mean girls started being mean to me so it’s a circumstantial 4.
Know the band name but not their music…loved this. A lot. Thinking this might be a huge influence on numerous bands including the replacements…will definitely listen again.
I dunno…I always found the singles from this a little boring and there are definitely some skips but missing, black tambourine and broken drum are very lovely songs. I’ve never really loved Beck - but appreciate it.(maybe because mom used to get mad at me when I sang along to loser on the radio hahaha)
‘Let’s put all the weird jams on Side A and make the kids flip the record for the hits’-the only thing the police agreed on. Solid 5 for the record that has king of pain!!!
Gonna have to review the game tape to figure out how this got missed but outside of ‘I wanna destroy you’ it was all new. And I listened to it for the better part of the day. All bangers.
This is an excellent album - front to back. Dirty Work is my favourite SD jam. I should give it a five but there’s no heart in my appreciation for it.
It was meh for me. Jamie xx in colour - amazing. This was bland and the female vocal annoys me.
