Step In The Arena
Gang StarrI don’t know very much about hip hop. So maybe this is great but it wasn’t for me.

A couple of beautiful jams and a lot of beep boop. I owned this album and a lot of it sounded unfamiliar to me….and a little (a lot) Kid A inspired. They were effing excellent live.
Perfect. No notes. Not something I listen to on the regular but such a great record. The call and response in Mojo Working is one of the most joyous (and one of my favourite) relics of rock and roll.
I’ve never listened to album kiss (only radio kiss). I listened to this twice. Imagine being 13 when this came out and then two years later getting into cheap trick and thin lizzy.
I wasn’t feeling this one until in the ghetto. Needs a little ‘never been to Spain’ lol
1. Oh golly that’s a lot of mudhoney. 2. Ok, this is fun. The ole mudhoney clomp - love it. 3. This rules! 4. Who you driving NOW! 5. Nirvana sux. Mudhoney 4eva! 6. Okay, that’s enough.
It all sounds like one long song…
I’ve never actively listened to Zappa. I loved this!!! It’s hilarious and it sounds great and the musicianship is excellent. Stand outs ‘go cry on someone else’s shoulder’, ‘trouble every day’ wowie zowie. So good.

Huh. Meh. I used to really be into Beth Orton’s music. Upon reading their bio, she used to sing for them - makes sense. Don’t think I can spin this entire record.
Enjoyable but nothing spectacular. The Ray Charles cover was fun.
I feel like I should appreciate this more but it sounded like the musical equivalent of community theatre.
I love these songs. Bring it on home is an all time fave and I love his version of the Tennessee Waltz - the live recording didn’t do much to augment. Classics.
I remember Mrs Robinson but never got into this. 90’s classic. Rudderless-great. Very much a time and place for this one.
Loved this. Loved it so much I went to taz to buy the record at lunch. 10 minute version of papa was a rolling stone. Yes, please. The first time I ever saw your face was a skip but a solid album front to back.
I can appreciate the feat of making this album. It just doesn’t hook me.
It was okay. Didn’t give this one a deep listen. Love pretty in pink. I love his voice as well.
Classic. Tv party is a rompin’ good time.
It took me years to get into post ok computer Radiohead which is now so embarrassing to say.
This one is in the record collection. I love this record so so so much. teenage kicks, and the rest of it, is a masterpiece.
It’s a beautiful record - I was surprised how much I enjoyed. But it’s also very much boomer jams.

A record I did not like when i was 15 and very like now.
This was bad.
What’s up noise. I didn’t hate it but it started to make be feel woozy weird which is probably the point.
Five stars for me. Special place in my heart because we spent hours listening to this album at our place on monastery lane. It’s also just beautiful and cool.
