first clash album i sat through the whole of. very good, very much what i expected it to be. can’t imagine returning much outside of a few tracks. i loved white riot, what’s my name and 48 hours

they have a talent of putting the most gorgeous song you’ve ever heard right next to the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever heard 😭 obligatory: what the fuck student demonstration time

i went in thinking i was going to hate this. highway star immediately changed my mind. incredible start. the rest of it was fine. great moments. lazy was a huge standout. forgot jesus was in this band. huge plus.

her voice isn’t really for me, but the songwriting is incredible. unfortunately i don’t see myself returning to this very much outside of a couple songs, im just not big on her voice. fast car is great though, obviously.

this one was fucking awesome. i love electronic music. i loved the robots, the model and neon lights. the rest of it kinda dragged unfortunately. i wanted to give it higher but it was honestly perfectly split between really really good tracks and stuff i wasn’t really into.

it’s not doing much for me and i’m not fully sure why. it’s cute. doesn’t help that there’s a song that’s been ruined by overplay for me in the middle of the album. didn’t even like it that much to begin with. his energy is pretty great.

i’d heard this album before. this has historically been my least favorite smiths album. it’s not horrible, it’s just against heavy competition. queen is dead is one of my favorite albums of the 80s. fuck unhappy birthday, that song sucks. stop me if you think you’ve heard this one before is a new favorite. really liked it this listen. johnny marr rightfully gets a lot of credit but shout out andy rourke and mike joyce. godtier rhythm section. paint a vulgar picture is dreadful. yeah on this listen, this album was pretty rough. some standout tracks for sure, but a lot of dredge. i liked death of a disco dancer, stop me if.. and the rest are either fine or shit.

i love the guitar work on this. any album with a bass solo is incredible. this is pretty good. so far i really just haven’t cared for tracks 2 and 4. it’s kinda falling off in the second half. true confessions is sick though.

i’ve heard this album so many times before. i had a huge radiohead phase back in high school and early college. they are really really good at managing three guitarists on this album. incredible bass playing throughout. i mean it’s ok computer what hasn’t been said a million times about ok computer. the vibes are incredible. paying a lot of attention to all the glitchy computer sounds. incredible attention to detail throughout this whole project. also incredibly catchy. there isn’t a single song on this thing i don’t like. nothing’s out of place. the track sequencing is absolutely perfect. to think i was worried it wasn’t going to hold up. i havent listened to this thing since getting into a ton of other music. and im listening to the original, ive listened to the remaster and its waaay better. its insane how good this thing is. im at the drop of exit music. i would die for colin greenwood. god i love bass guitar. fitter happier blew my mind as a kid. i’m also listening to this in the middle of the night. really heightens the vibe. i think climbing up the walls is my favorite song this listen. i’ve always loved that one. it’s gonna be a glorious day BWOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW yea it’s hard not to give this a 5. i totally expected to be contrarian on this after listening to so much other music since the last time i heard this but yea it holds up. great album. lmao ok computer is a good album, big whoop.

there’s something about abba that just doesn’t really click with me. i didn’t really care for the opener. dancing queen is fun though. i used to hate that song but i think it’s grown on me. i think it’s their voices. maybe i just got this one on a bad day. it might just be that first song. i love my love, my life. yea it’s either the most incredible song ive heard or doing nothing for me. why is there a blues song on this. i wanted to like this. my friend’s a big abba fan but yea i wasn’t really feeling this. favorite tracks, dancing queen, money money money, my love my life. the rest was fine.

i have heard this album a couple times before. i don’t really have much to say about it. it’s just a good album. hits on hits on hits. the bass work so nasty, it’s really damn good. rain when i die hit a lot harder this time. that fake fade out is so cool every time anyone does it. fuck this thing is so good. i’m on down in a hole. first song i don’t really remember is next, sickman. hope it doesn’t fall off. i’ve heard rooster too much. i remember sickman. it’s kickass. i forgot that the bassline in rooster is incredible. i haven’t heard rooster too much, this song is awesome. WHATS MY DRUG OF CHOIIIIIICE 🗣️🗣️🗣️ junkhead might be the best song on this album and that’s saying A LOT. i love when they bring out the queens of the stone age guitar sound. fuck the end of god smack and untitled. corny asf. godsmack is a great song outside of that dumb voice at the end. hate to feel isn’t hitting. holy fucking ending. angry chair into would. christ. i’m sure this goes hard on heroin.

i’ve heard of this one a lot. i see it everywhere but i hadn’t listened to it. i don’t really know anything about it. didn’t know it was a 90s album. i thought it was super recent. i was probably getting it mixed up with the new black country new road album from last year. i’m excited i really have no idea what to expect. holy shit this is not at all what i was expecting. i had no expectations at all and it still surprised me. i don’t know what to make of this. i was confused by the name and the marketing so i went to get a better handle on their sound after listening to “movin’ on up” by going to their previous album’s “i’m losing more than i’ll ever have”. that song’s awesome, but it doesn’t affect anything bc it’s not on screamadelica. back on slip inside this house. i cannot imagine how fans of this band felt when this came out. i still don’t know how to feel about the movin’ on up, but this song is really good i like this. this album is genuinely insane though. i’m tired i started this after midnight. i’m going to go to bed and start this over in the morning. i woke up a little sick, im not sure if that’s gonna affect how i feel about this. going back into movin’ on up now. he sounds like pablo honey thom yorke. movin’ on up hit a lot harder this time. great song. slip inside the house is so my shit. the house drum beat, always love a good sitar. however you would describe the vocal, it’s working for me. just realized how groovy that bass line is. it’s like a fucked up talking heads song. specifically off speaking in tongues. i’m on don’t fight it, feel it. getting a very similar vibe to the last track. that’s not a bad thing AT ALL. but judging the huge differences between the first two songs, i thought this album was going to be way more eclectic. but i’m on the third track and this album is over an hour long, we’ll see. nvm this is way different, way more of a straight forward house track. i love it. this album just makes me want to MOVE. obsessed with the bass lines on this so far. i understand why this is way more well regarded than the previous album now. as much as i loved im losing more than ill ever have, ive heard that kind of song plenty of times. this is something special. im on higher than the sun now. this album continues to be incredibly eclectic. i also love this sound. these guys are bright as hell. movin’ on up is such an odd opener in retrospect but i don’t think it was a bad choice. WOAH. the last minute of this song is so fucking good. when the beat switches. insane. i’m on inner flight now. i think this album was exactly what sick me needed. i really thought i was gonna hate it bc this album just hit me on a weird day but this is perfect. god i love new age. i love this notes feature. i love a good interlude. i love music, man. life is good. i took a short break. i’m on come together. uh oh. it’s different again but i’m not sure how i feel about this. yeah i don’t really care for come together. it’s well made and it is what it wants to be, but it’s so dated. it gives me the vibe of the end of a kids movie where everyone’s dancing. it also goes on for way too long, which i haven’t felt about a song on here yet. i’m on loaded now. i’ve never been huge on early 90s “tribe called quest” “de la soul” style rap. i do love a good slide guitar though. it also sounds a little dated but it’s not nearly as bad. i like this a lot more than come together. come together had this preachy “let’s all just be friends” vibe that i just hated. i’m surprised loaded is their biggest song on apple music, im not sure why that is. it’s not bad, it’s just not as grabbing as the rest of the tracks here. i’m not fully sure why this was the lead single. i’m on damaged now, i like the start of this but im gonna take another short break before i start it proper. i’m back, listened to pavement for a minute. damaged is fucking gorgeous. love a good acoustic ballad. especially after those last couple tracks. if oasis was good. i’m comin down now. what the gong. that song was also absolutely gorgeous. hypnotizing. i love when a song is hypnotizing. higher than the sun still incredible in the reprise. thank god. i love sound. both parts of these parts im super into. i love this repeating bass part, super cool. all the house tracks are just incredible well made. i’m on shine like stars now. dammit this one isn’t really doing it for me. fine enough ending, i feel like this is a hard album to close out. i just don’t think this track sticks the landing too well. it’s functional, at the very least. really really high highs with some duds in the middle and a somewhat disappointing end. 4/5

i haven’t heard this album before. i like some rap. i’m very very picky with rap, im even pickier with rap from the 90s. here’s hoping i fuck with this one. it does somewhat worry me that there’s 20 tracks on this thing and it’s over an hour long. i’m going to go in with an open mind though. i like this intro quite a bit :D i’m on brothers gonna work it out. it sounds old, but it doesn’t sound obnoxiously outdated for me yet. i’m still a little sick, maybe this was a bad album for me to get today. just bc it’s a genre i’ve never really been into. i like the message of 911 is a joke. the song is cool. it’s definitely better than a lot of old school rap i’ve heard. okay yea this album is neat. i like the fuck you attitude. it’s very punk. the beats are mixed dark as hell. it’s a sweet vibe. this is good. i’m very tired. burn hollywood burn is my favorite song so far. i took a long break after burn hollywood burn. took a long nap. the takeout at the start of it power to the people is really funny. i think this is an album i’ll have to revisit. i generally have to listen to rap albums a ton to get really into them. the chopped vocals can get really grating at times. i am liking this more after the break :) it is kind of a lot though. because of the dark sounding beats and the very aggressive tone and how long it is, this album is kind of a marathon. i do like it though. okay i finished it. i think it kinda drags near the end, fight the power is good though.

i think i’ve heard of this band and album before. apple music calls it punk, i wasn’t really expecting that. it feels new wave-y to me, judging by the cover and band name. i’m excited :) i also think it’s funny there’s an hour long interview attached to the apple music release, and that’s the only version of the album on apple music. HOLY SHIT WHAT AN OPENING. i’m a little stoned for this one. this is johnny rotten????? i didn’t know he had this shit in him holy goddamn. the mixing / panning on this is weird as fuck, but it doesn’t really bother me. it’s pretty sick. my head hurts. whoever mixed this is an insane person. i love the bassist on this. mmmmm bass guitar. i accidentally fell asleep during the last song, i gotta go back and listen to it again. i’m thinking a 5 atm honestly. i’m sober now, listening to that last track again. it’s crazy, for sure. i like the audacity of it. i still like it a lot. i can imagine myself revisiting this. 5

i haven’t heard of this album before but i know the group. i don’t really have any expectations honesty, other than apple music calling it a hip hop/rap album. i’ve also heard of the band. i played a show last night. i’m a bassist :) partied hard after. slept over at my bandmates’ place. very tired and hungover today. i’m feeling this. i liked that punk interlude, that was fun. rock you was alright, im feeling sacrifice :) rolling with heat is fine. surprise surprise, questlove is a good drummer. the seed 2.0 is my favorite song so far. mmm water goes hard. i’m feeling a 4, i’ll probably revisit this. hooooly fuck the second half of water is awesome. the next couple songs were alright, something in the way of thing and thirsty were highlights at the end. ultimately this was a damn good album.

i’ve heard of these guys before. i know the backstory of them being bob dylan’s band. (i’ve heard all of dylan’s albums already, outside of this generator.) but i haven’t heard this album yet, im excited :) incredible start. i’m on caledonia mission now. this album feels like you’re in an old saloon and it’s BUMPING. oh i know the weight. i don’t remember liking this song this much, it’s good. that being said, it might be the worst song so far. we can talk was kinda mid. i’m worried this album was front loaded. lonesome suzie is cute, i like this. i was immediately very put off by the vocals of i shall be released, now it might be my favorite on the whole thing. damn good song. some really good moments on here, but it had some parts i didn’t really care about. my favorite songs were tears of rage and i shall be released.

this is working for me :) i liked the intro a lot. i wasn’t really feeling one two cha cha cha at first but it’s growing on me. mmm jazz. i hadn’t heard this before. i’m a little surprised by this. i had a feeling i’d like it but not completely love it. this is great, not really a dull moment on this. i could see myself revisiting this. another note, yesterday was pretty rough (so was the album i got 😭) and putting this on this morning was immediately good vibes.

i’ve heard of the the! i love their band name. no idea what kind of music they do. always got a the band vibe. i’m seeing now they are nothing like that. this is neat. i see a lot of people complain about the amount of new wave on this list. i love new wave. this is awesome. also this album is gorgeous. incredibly well made. ouggggggh the piano solo in uncertain smile 🤤 i’m scared of god, im scared of hell. so real. i’m definitely revisiting this. i liked every moment on this. may change later but definitely a 5 on this listen

i do not like goodbye baby. the first two songs were alright. cry to me was the better of the two. this is cute i had swans’ “people like us” queued up after this album. crazy whiplash. this was alright though, didn’t do a whole lot for me.

goddammit i fucking hate linkin park. i’ve heard this album before. i put this off pretty much all day. it’s 10:47 pm and im getting into the album now. it’s not even linkin park’s fault. their music just isn’t for me. i don’t really like chester’s voice, never have. evil backstreet boys. never realized how cringy runaway is. never paid that close attention to it. christ 😭 thankfully this album is short. god i hate the rapping on this. i understand why this is on here, it’s important for the cultural history of music. at least i got to reaffirm my hatred for this band to know that im not crazy.

i haven’t heard this album before. i do know aretha franklin though. hard not to. this isn’t aretha’s fault at all, but i really hate when old albums are stereo mixed like this. i put it on a speaker and it’s way better. this album is incredible. i’m definitely going to revisit this.

oh hey i know prince. i like prince. i’ve heard this album. i went on a huge prince deep dive a couple years back, listened to every prince album. bad idea, give them space. hated the guy once i was done. this one was a highlight though, im excited to jump back into this. dammit. i love this album but i don’t think im gonna be in the mood for this today. sucks. never mind absolutely in the mood for this. generational opening two songs. that being said, each song goes on slightly too long 😭 dammit i’m not really feeling this after delirious. great three track run. these songs just take forever to end. usually that’s not a problem for me, but it’s weird in a pop song. feels like it’s going for an extended gospel ending thing, i just don’t think it’s landing for me. and you can’t do that for EVERY SONG, PRINCE. oh god this next song is nine minutes long. thought the song was ending so i checked and there’s three minutes left. this isn’t an attention span thing, this is just genuinely too long for what these songs are. and shoot me but these later songs aren’t nearly good enough to be this long. well 1999 is a FANTASTIC song and even then i thought it was overstaying its welcome just a bit. i’m on lady cab driver. i haven’t fully liked a song since delirious. i’m worried bc this song is also eight minutes and by the sound of it so far has no reason to be. still on lady cab driver. this album is getting a two. yea i liked very disparate parts of this. mainly at the starts of songs. but i really didn’t care for this as an album. that surprised me a lot.

i like this album. i also could have listened to cars 13 times and gotten the same experience. now cars is a great song. there are multiple times that a song started and i was like. oh okay here’s cars. and it wouldn’t be cars. fuck man this guy loves this sound, can’t knock it. i’d like these songs more if i was hearing them apart from each other and with time in between them. as an album experience, it’s a little much. damn i really thought i’d like this. idk what’s not clicking.

i respect what this is and it’s place in history. not a fan of the songwriting. you don’t realize metal is just evil blues most of the time. i bet this went crazy back in 1968

faster is really fun :) this whole thing is pretty great. i’m definitely going to be revisiting this. i haven’t finished it yet but i liked it a lot so far. it’s very late and im very high.

i still somehow haven’t heard this album, or any rage against the machine album, in full. i think i’ll fuck with it, but i’m worried i may have missed the boat with them. it’s pretty late, finally getting into this. INSANE FUCKING BASS TONE. WOW. hooooly shit that’s a great fucking bass line on take the power back. this works in all the ways that linkin park doesn’t, for me. i say that mostly bc they’ve got a similar style. settle for nothing is incredibly depressing now in 2026. holy shit maynard. what the fuck is morello doing to this song 😭😭. he’s pretty good on this album. that solo was weird as fuck. i cannot believe that this all finger playing. also fuck your tim, pick playing sounds cool too 😭 as a whole, good message. a lot of these bars are pretty clunky though, all things considered.

YESSS i’ve heard about this. super excited to check this out. i’ve heard great things i do not care for the high pitched vocals. dammit. the rest of it is gorgeous, if a little one note. there are other albums i’d listen to to get this vibe, i think. i like acid house. and this is very well made. i just don’t see myself revisiting this all too much. it’s really cool how all these songs bleed into each other though. that cover is a tidal wave, not an avalanche the out of tune piano on tonight is cool. tonight in general is a pretty great track. maybe i will revisit this. wow. frontier psychologist is awesome.

first repeat for a band, i had music for big pink already. i thought it was cool, but it kinda fell off halfway through. let’s see how this one goes :)

was big into arctic monkeys back around when tranquility base came out, all the way until about right before the car came out. but i have never given this a full listen. also i have a headache this morning :( holy opener. this thing is great. it’s like more humbug, i love humbug. not a dull moment yet. i just love alex turner’s voice. sexy accent. sexy album. that bass tone on my mistakes were made for you is gorgeous.

lmao he sounds like bob dylan. i don’t think i ever checked these guys out bc of the band name. they’re good though. for the most part i liked under the pressure. red eyes was fine. atm, this isn’t doing much for me and im not sure why bc on paper i should love this. i took a break before disappearing. that song was gorgeous. and i’m loving eyes to the wind so far, surprised this wasn’t the lead single. there was a great stretch from suffering to the haunting isle. i hope it sticks the landing. i liked this but i also found it very frustrating.

holy shit what an opener. H>A>K is genuinely awesome. very excited for this. i’ve never heard of this artist or this album before. the production on this is so cool. it’s super hazy and impenetrable, but it really works for this. did you see butterflies? was another class act song. incredible. modern kosmology is also incredible. i don’t have much to say about this other than it scratches my brain good. good album to put on and sit with. did not care for the intro to slow motion, immediately took me out :( for some reason it’s mixed way higher than everything else so far. it’s not a bad song, it’s fine. but it’s super weird on this album. okay it’s not that weird after being midway through the next song. i really like loops in the secret society. the architect and the lightning back were both gorgeous. and the bass line underneath the chorus in valley is genuinely beautiful.

waited until pretty late to get to this. i’ve heard of it but i haven’t listened to it yet. also listening stoned. i have listened to a jethro tull album before, one that came out in 2025. i remember a lot of flutes, not much else. the title track for this is fucking awesome so far, unfortunately it is so tied to family guy for me. holy fuck the bass line during that guitar solo was awesome. cross eyed mary. holy flutes. holy shit this song is awesome. this is like an album of the most mythical led zeppelin songs, i’m living for it. the whimsy is palpable. i don’t generally comment on the guitar work bc guitarists get enough attention as is. but goddamn i gotta give props to the acoustic work on this. gorgeous stuff. i’m saying this at the start of my god.

i’ve heard this album before :) the stereo mix was bothering me, listening on headphones so i’m listening to the mono mix that got released last year. i heard that’s how it originally came out. he says “a love supreme” a lot more than i remember. yeah hot take a love supreme is good. really damn good. i’m on pursuance. this album is insane. favorite track on this.

yay!! i’ve heard this album, i love this album. was big into queens of the stone age for a while. i know the cover is for the 2011 rerelease, and it links to that same version. but i’m going to listen to the original release. i have listened to the 2011 rerelease loads of times, i liked it but i always felt it was a tad bit bloated. the panning on this album is really cool. the symbols on avon sound really weird though, never noticed that before. it’s fixed on if only, thank god. that bass tone is incredible, they always have crazy good bass tone. never paid this close attention to the self titled, not nearly as much as like rated r, era vulgaris and songs for the deaf. damn good album. the ending for sidewalks does not need to be this long. they do this concept way better on i think i lost my headache on rated r. always loved you would know. really fun to sing along to. queens of the stone age in generally is really fun to sing along to. i was in exactly the right mood for this album today. how to handle a rope is real damn good, really hitting this time. never really paid too close attention to it before, because it came between you would know (love) and mexicola (adore). mexicola is also really fun to play on bass :) haven’t seen a real low point yet, aside from the ending of sidewalks. i never got hispanic impressions, honestly. especially after mexicola. i’m liking it quite a bit on this listen though. it’s just odd. weird as an interlude, weird as a song. just odd altogether. holy shit i forgot about you can’t quit me baby. that bassline is so tasty. take what a said about them doing the outro for sidewalks better on rated r with lost my headache and apply that directly to quit me baby. they do that concept better on the same damn album with you can’t quit me baby. i’m harping just a tad bit though, it’s really not that big of a deal. i feel like i generally have a hard time remembering the last couple songs on this. they’re great songs, i just have a hard time conjuring them. i like how teenage model sounds like coming down from a high. mellow but slightly painful. not sure how i don’t remember this outro holy shit. yea good album, only thing holding it back is that i love other queens of the stone age albums more i think.

i haven’t heard this one yet, but my friend loves graceland. first paul simon album on the list. this thing is pretty gorgeous. goddamn there’s a lot of people on this album. very pleasant way to start easter morning.

i’ve heard this album before. i remember liking it but i don’t revisit it often. lotta tracks damn. the bass line is girls and boys is so good. great opener. i like that the background vocal that yells “GIRLS! GIRLS! BOYS! BOYS! GIRLS!” gets louder every chorus. there’s a direct line between syd barrett and tracy jacks. parklife and bank holiday is a crazy back to back run. this first side is banger after banger so far. it’s been said but this album is incredibly english. badhead is one i never really paid much attention to. the streak continues. never heard two interludes back to back before. weird. this album is good, i just need to let it grow on me and im not there yet. there’s something about the second half that isn’t hitting nearly as hard as the first half. also something came up while i was listening so there’s probably something there. lot 105 is jaunty as fuck

the most i know of this guy before this album is war of the worlds. he’s good at rapping, he should’ve stuck with that lmao. the album’s alright. i’m a little distracted, there’s a lot going on today and i don’t have time to really get into it unfortunately. 3

i’ve heard this album tons before, i could probably recreate it in my mind note for note in my sleep. kinda overplayed it to the point i don’t like it nearly as much now. still good though. meddle, dark side and animals better. yea the wall is good, big whoop. it’s very tight. every detail was very clearly thought out. incredibly meticulous record. it’s been said but they say “ooh babe” way too many times on this thing. the fretless bass on hey you cannot go understated. thank you david gilmour. for its length, the album really doesn’t drag. i’m giving this a four, if i had done this project a couple years ago it would’ve been a 5 for sure. i like the ending of waiting for the worms a lot, its sick.

i like fever a lot. didn’t expect that from elvis. i liked this album a lot more than i was expecting to. it feels weird putting this on the same level as my other fours, but that’s genuinely how im feeling.

i haven’t heard of this. looks interesting. i’m excited. i took the band name and cover of the album and incorrectly assumed it was going to be more like the avalanches. whoops. this is a little nuts for 1982. he sounds like david bowie. goes between being a bowie pastiche and a talking heads pastiche. i do love both of those artists though, so it’s cool. singer’s a little annoying. i was on its side for most of it, but this album kinda wore me down.

this has the weirdest bass drum sound i’ve ever heard. i am very mixed on this. some of its very pleasant, some of it i don’t really care about. i do love lap steel guitar, but sometimes its a little corny here. just a little too yachty.

i’ve heard this album plenty of times before. but i don’t know if ive ever really paid close attention to it. i remember being slightly disappointed by my pixies deep dive a while back. i think it was just surfer rosa not being as good as i remember. i have revisited this one a couple times more often since, i like it. monkey gone to heaven gets stuck in my head pretty often. it’s good. i can’t tell if it’s necessarily filler but i found myself just wading through most of the songs, waiting for the really good tracks most of the time. four seems too high, but three seems too low, so i did a four.

oh i havent actually listened to this yet. i’ve heard good things. forgot to take notes while listening, i was playing pokemon emerald. i liked it though.

i haven’t heard of this. exciting. i’m loving this, i needed this this morning. definitely my thing. it’s incredibly lowkey. his voice is slightly annoying, and i’m not sure if it ruins it for me. tit smoking in the temple of artisan mimicry is fun. i like this but it’s gonna take a few more listens to really get into i think. can’t tell if it’s a mile wide and a foot deep, or if there’s actually meat to chew into here. oh shit this was on young god? i do like this. i’ve just heard this done before, way better in a lot of cases. maybe not. i like when the sun shone on vetiver a lot. this might be where alt-j got their whole career.

this album has the quietest fucking drums i’ve ever heard. and the vocals are annoyingly loud. terrible mix.

oh i’ve heard this hundreds of times as a teenager. love the bit between chump and longview, endlessly cool. i LOVE longview. as a bass player, it’s so cool. i remember these songs being longer. not in a bad way, just didn’t realize they were so short.

i like the velvet underground. i love the debut with nico. i’ve heard this album before but i don’t revisit it often. the gift is a really cool song. i love the jam. the panning on it is really cool, even if that meant it took me a minute to finish it. the title track is good, not much else to say about it. this is just an insane album, it’s crazy that this got made. and its an insane follow up to & nico. the ending for i heard her call my name is genuinely so cool. i love when musicians just play bullshit. it’s not my favorite velvet underground album, but it is damn influential. and in a completely different way than & nico was, which is nuts for a single band. mmm sound… sister ray is cool. the amount of different ways he sings the same lines to mean different shit. super super cool.

LETS FUCKING GO. needed some jazz. the drummer in my band loves bill evans, so i’m pretty excited. pretty sure this is the first album i’ve gotten with a bass solo. i liked this a lot. i’ll have to revisit this pretty often. it’s a nice world to get lost in.

i’ve heard this before. haven’t listened to it since like high school though. this album is pretty hit or miss. but the part in emit remmus where he goes “english girl, american man” is one of the most hype things i’ve heard in a song. unfortunately the way he immediately goes to pronounce london pisses me the fuck off. never even realized that’s what he was saying today. i think that section is pretty descriptive of my feelings of this whole album. goes without saying, instrumental is consistently incredible. you don’t get as famous as flea as a bass player for nothing. a bit loud. i have it at like three volume because any louder would genuinely hurt. i can hear everything fine. flea doesn’t get enough props for his melodic playing.

i’ve heard of this! new to me though, haven’t made my way to it yet. given its reputation, i thought i would like this more. it just sounds like a white girl found motown. i really liked the instrumental at the end of so far away. it’s pretty. but i feel like for a singer/songwriter album, the lyrics are a little shallow? they’re very basic songs.

this list has pretty weird picks from the 10s and 20s in my experience. i’m four tracks in and there’s already too many interludes. 14 tracks. 6 interludes. christ. i like anderson .paak’s verse. he’s got a nice voice. i didn’t care much for the rest of this. it’s kinda crazy how much it drags near the end given how short this thing is.
