Perfectly pleasant background music

Sadly now sounds somewhat dated

Reminds me of Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers

I love the Cure when they rock it out but there’s not much of that on this album.

Just not my thing at all. I only give one star if I think that the album is one that I could never listen to again. This is one of those. Sorry to whoever listed it.

At times I thought that I was listening to Steely Dan but that’s no bad thing. Enjoyed it more than I expected to.

Sounds like a load of demos to me.

I always wondered if this guy’s voice would grate when listening to a whole album. It does.

Every track seems familiar, even the ones that weren’t singles.

Every now and then there was a bit where I thought it was going to liven up a little but those bits were very few and far between. I got bored well before the end but stuck it out in what proved to be false hope of enjoyment.

It sounds like something that someone has knocked out on a cheap Casio keyboard in their tea break.

Nothing outstanding but pleasant enough as background music.

Quirky vocals over fractured beats. I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not so I gave it the benefit of the doubt as it would probably grow on me with more listens.

One extra star for sentimental reasons - RIP Ozzy

Country music normally gets one star from me but this made me chuckle a couple of times so an extra star for that.

It grew on me on a second listen, hence the fourth star.

I’m not a Pink Floyd fan but I liked this more than I expected to.

This geezers voice is so monotonous it makes even the uptempo songs sound boring.

I always think that the guitarists in reggae bands must get really bored.

I liked their early stuff a lot and was disappointed with the second album but this is good enough for four stars.

I didn’t think I was going to like this at first but, in the end, I liked it a lot.

It wasn’t at all what I was expecting but it turned out to be great! If it had been in English I may have given it five stars!

I fail to understand the hype around this band. A couple of good singles does not make an excellent album.

Started off with an open mind about it, soon got bored and changed to something else three quarters of the way through.

A quirky choice which would be even better if this non Spanish speaker understood what the lyrics were about. Maybe it’s about violently slaughtering Burt Lancaster. Or maybe it’s a love song to him. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♂️

My old Dad used to love Herb Alpert but it’s not my thing but two stars for nostalgia and memories of my long gone Father.

I’ve been a big fan since the start and think that he’s always been underrated. This isn’t his best album by a long way but it shows where he came from and is well worth four stars of anyone’s ears.

What an amazing mishmash of styles. I never knew what quite to expect next!

I’d expected that a band called Vampire Weekend would be more edgy but this is ok as it is, I suppose. However, my music provider played other tracks from the band once the album had finished and some of those were far better than anything here.

Can’t take too much of her screechy voice

Formulaic pop for sure but she’s got a half decent voice and this album is more listenable than quite a lot of the other stuff on the lists.

Apart from the Vic Reeves Pub Singer style vocals this is a pleasant enough listen.

Couldn’t find a platform with the whole album but the five tracks I heard were pretty good.

First track was the best and I held out big hopes for the rest but it didn’t live up to that start.

There’s a German band called Leoniden who sound very similar to these guys. Both are great fun!
