The Smiths
4/5
I never went all in with the Smiths, always suspected he might be a nazi and possibly responsible for the cardigan craze of my youth. However this has four genuine classics, great for a mix tape and always had time for marr's
jingly jangly riffs. Some dross on here though that can't be excused.

LL Cool J
3/5
Ain't no Erik B and Rakim but infectious rhymes and beats make this a winner. A good antidote to all the gangsta shit but some of the Boyz to men moments are a bit unforgivable. Mama said knock you out is one of the great walk on tracks, for any sport. Pumped.

The Rolling Stones
5/5
This has been made by a band having a good time in the South of France. Amazing what a bit of sun can do. It sounds like they were doing what they liked and didn't care about the hits, which is refreshing. The junkies and drunks probably got on Mick's nerves but it's rock and roll mythology at its best.

Johnny Cash
3/5
Overrated.... However, enjoyed the man comes around and song about accidentally shooting someone on a horse.
Black Sabbath
5/5
Funky heavy riffs, no better opening song for feeling of dread and doom. Enjoyed it.
The Who
2/5
Solid opener from the who..... They will go far. Point deducted for Peter Townsends search History.
Public Enemy
5/5
Genre defining mind bending trickery. Epic sampling and full of classics.
The Band
4/5
Influential stuff. Enjoyed it.
Coldcut
4/5
Groundbreaking beats.....
Sufjan Stevens
2/5
Always loved Chicago but rest unmoving and a bit god bothery.
Soundgarden
5/5
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
3/5
Sure it was good at the time
Madonna
2/5
Ok until Madonna sings.
Pere Ubu
1/5
Awful.
Gang Starr
4/5
Masters at work...
Derek & The Dominos
3/5
Could listen to Layla all day. Happy memories of gangsters being shot. Despite some great riffarama, bit dull. Must have been all that skag and wife stealing plotting.
Talking Heads
2/5
A bit too arty farty.
Wu-Tang Clan
3/5
Nobody fucks with the Wu Tang and you can see why. Epic in places and they sound like a funny bunch. Family loved it.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
You would have to be heartless not to enjoy the dub reggae of Bob.
The Velvet Underground
3/5
Quite interesting. Lou Reed not as annoying as I thought.
Jerry Lee Lewis
4/5
Filthy lunatic but boy oh boy could he rock the house down.
Lauryn Hill
1/5
Not aimed at me but not a fan
Herbie Hancock
4/5
Loved it on my walk along the coastal path this morning. Jazz, funk and rock hands all going at once. A genius.
Leonard Cohen
2/5
Need to listen to this again. He new he was on the way out and laid some personal stuff down. Lots of good funeral songs, quite liked it.
Wire
3/5
Blimey, did every 90s english indie band listen to this. They should sue Blur especially. Enjoyed the fuzz but couldn't name a stand out tune. Maybe that's what they wanted. Still think post punk is an excuse for over artistic experiment instead of some cracking tunes.
Carole King
3/5
Carole can write a tune, some absolute classics and enjoyed it. A lot to be said for living in Laural Canyon in the 70s.
Simon & Garfunkel
4/5
Never really listened to these dudes but thoroughly enjoyed it. Made me feel groovy.
Snoop Dogg
2/5
Appreciate this is a serious gangsta record but just too funny for me to take seriously bitches. Love snoop but won't listen to it again.... probably.
Kendrick Lamar
1/5
I have reached peak hip hop... Plus I don't like the way he pronounces bitch. This really isn't my cup of tea, nice beats but just pretentious waffle.
Fishbone
2/5
Who the hell is this... thought Freddys dead was about Freddy Kruger but sadly not. Thinking, quite like this song and jumps to some different style. Bit if a mess and sounds dated.
James Brown
3/5
He invented a few genres and can imagine seeing him in 62 would have been a riot. Battery aside, he got the funk.
Deep Purple
4/5
Never listened before and the riffs had me straight away but the boys disliked the screaming. For the air guitaring opportunities alone it's a solid 3/low 4.
George Michael
2/5
Very poppy but suppose that's the plan. Don't mind the occasional GM song but whole album is ott. Extra point for stoned ramming of snappy snaps.
Public Image Ltd.
3/5
Can't get more post punk than Lydon and enjoyed the driving base in most of the songs and albatross and careering were a bit of a revelation. Lydons sneering grates after a while though.
The Vines
3/5
Passed me by at the time, thought they were just shouty. More melodic than expected and sounded good. Strong 3.
The Cars
2/5
Sounded like a musical, nothing grabbed me.
The Who
3/5
Sounds like a great gig, not sure if you would get away with the girl guide/engine driver ditty nowadays. Bass and drums keep it chugging along but points lost for operatic nonsense.
PJ Harvey
2/5
Powerful music but just not my cup of tea.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
3/5
Surprisingly not heard before but he doesn't do short songs. I can imagine getting into this in the right environment and may revisit should the need arise. Quite hypnotic.
Abdullah Ibrahim
4/5
Never on my radar but smooth tunes. Nice will revisit.
Amy Winehouse
2/5
The Allman Brothers Band
3/5
More lounge jam than swamp jam but could imagine landing my Huey in a hot LZ with this blasting out.
The Thrills
4/5
Completely forgotten about the Thrills but memories of listening to them on my river, looking over the south china sea and it still works for me.
Ozomatli
2/5
Only managed to find one song and quite enjoyed it, made me want to go on holiday. There latest song moose on the loose could become a family favorite but still only 2 stars due to lack of availability.
Paul Simon
2/5
Pauls gone to a bit too far with this. If it was purely the Chevy Chase collaboration " You can call me al " it would be 5 but the rest is worse than Sting.
Ray Charles
4/5
Really enjoyed this, Ray is a bit of a genius and will listen to again, probably when the in laws are staying. Had a bit of everything and thank god it wasn't proper country music because that sucks.
Adele
1/5
I was dreading this moment, I knew it would come eventually. I gave it a listen out if respect but never again. If anyone put this on I would leave and for that strong feeling alone it gets a star.
The Black Keys
3/5
My nephew likes them and some good sludgy bluesy rock. Much better than Adele.
Songhoy Blues
4/5
I think a few bands have been on holiday to Mali and nicked their desert style. Hypnotic stuff and sounds great, will revisit.
The Dictators
3/5
Thought I would hate it but catchy tunes about MacDonalds and fast living is a winner for me. Can imagine having a riot listening to this at a toga party back in 75.... maybe not now as kids today are so woke.
Dire Straits
3/5
Loved the opening few tracks and nice bit of sax but all goes a bit Jeremy Clarkson.
Dusty Springfield
4/5
Everything is better in Memphis it would appear. Great songs and classic sound, very hard to fault. I don't want to sound like an old man but all the current chipmunk sounding ladies nowadays should listen to this and be embarrassed. Close to a 5.
Jefferson Airplane
3/5
Bunch of drug taking hippies. Not as good as I remember but white rabbit is the ultimate 60s trip.
Stan Getz
4/5
Gone through many a Bossa Nova phase and military juntas aside, Brazil in the early 60s would have been my bag. Stan is a master of the Sax and this is essential listening.
Ryan Adams
1/5
Blimey, think Ryan might have a overinflated opinion of himself. Listened on the fast forward as it's so long. Bland country rock, not sure how it got on this list but at least it's not Pere Ubu.
The Smiths
4/5
I never went all in with the Smiths, always suspected he might be a nazi and possibly responsible for the cardigan craze of my youth. However this has four genuine classics, great for a mix tape and always had time for marr's
jingly jangly riffs. Some dross on here though that can't be excused.
Portishead
5/5
Could be described as stoner music by some but I am not stoned now and it's a belter. All killer, no filler and original to it's very core. A true classic.
LL Cool J
3/5
Ain't no Erik B and Rakim but infectious rhymes and beats make this a winner. A good antidote to all the gangsta shit but some of the Boyz to men moments are a bit unforgivable. Mama said knock you out is one of the great walk on tracks, for any sport. Pumped.
M.I.A.
1/5
Thought she was taking the piss for most of it... Almost unlistenable. Quite like paper planes, probably been on an advert. Overall, quite annoying.
Elton John
2/5
Prefer Billy Joel but needs must. Sure there is a time and place for Elton, that was the 70s. Quite a funny reggae track on here and SNAFF is most enjoyable. Therefore dos stats.
Jimi Hendrix
3/5
Has the best helicopter hot landing song ever, all along the watchtower and could listen to voodoo child all day. He's clearly a legend but there is a lot of filler and some songs just don't seem like Hendrix.
Led Zeppelin
3/5
Wasn't expecting too much, normally a bit too cock rock for my taste. However, this chuggs along nicely without ever going full cock, so enjoyed it.
The Notorious B.I.G.
1/5
Bit sick of east coast, west coast rapping about their bitches and shooting people. It's not BIG or clever Mr smalls.
Scritti Politti
1/5
Good name, shit sound. Quite enjoyed the first song but then descended into mid 80s horror.
Frank Sinatra
4/5
Swinging indeed, in the old fashioned sense. Frank at his best and I wouldn't want to be nearby if he slipped anything goes or making whoopee on the record player. Max croonation and close to a 5.
Jurassic 5
4/5
Bit of a turn up, bit sick of hip hop but enjoyed this immensely. Great mixing by cut chemist and funky upbeat beats. All new to me and will revisit ... unlike gangster rap, which is shit.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
1/5
A annoying album. Singer far too needy and trying to be cool. I can imagine them all sitting around in tight jeans thinking how awesome they are. Hope they have been forced to get proper jobs in supermarkets or such.
A Tribe Called Quest
5/5
Winner winner chicken dinner. The samples, scratching, words and general vibe even put me in a good mood. Blows the rivals out of the water and giving it a genre busting 5 stars.
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
I have no strong feelings about Bruce. Musically it's solid and sure it appeals to people from New Jersey. Its 3 every day of the week.
Stevie Wonder
2/5
Not a massive fan of Steve's warbling style and all too wet for my tastes.
Nina Simone
4/5
Just realised Nina is a bet of a genuine genius. Not sure if you would pigeon her as Jazz, she can do it all. Amazing story telling, Four Woman and Lilac win for example. Will check out more for sure.
Pixies
5/5
This was my gateway drug to the world of US rock on the bus to school and it stills sounds amazing today. Who knows what nonsense he's screaming about but it made sense to me at the time. Plus as a geographer, there was the bonus of a song about the weather. Just awesome.
Morrissey
2/5
He's a witty lyricist but none of the songs grab me. Not entirely sure why he's held in such high esteem, probably because he's northern.
The La's
3/5
Obviously some might say one hit wonders but I would throw Timeless melody in there as well, so two hit wonders, which is better than most. I thought I liked this album more but now not so much.
Fun Lovin' Criminals
3/5
Despite misgivings about this collective being massive frauds, I found the album was worth a listen and pretty chilled, even without a big spliff in my hand. I won't be attending any nostalgia trips but a solid trieze.
De La Soul
3/5
I suppose it's a good antidote to all the bitching and shooting going on but it's just a little too chirpy for me. It's sample heavy but I like the jazzy nature of some of the tracks. Eye Know always works for me but album as a whole slightly annoying.
Hugh Masekela
4/5
Always been a fan of Hugh's and this is great. Not poncey jazz, just a funky trumpet, a bit of piano and great drumming.Think they say jazz meets afrobeats which is fine by me. He's up there with Herb for me. If it's a listen again it's a 4.
Miles Davis
5/5
This album is definitely a gateway jazz drug for many. Haven't listened to for a while but what a start and what a line up. I just feel hipper listening to it and whilst it never puts you in a good mood, it feels like you are going somewhere. I imagine in 59 this was a bit of a game changer. Those lucky baby boomers, they got jobs for life, cheap houses and final salary pensions. You can't really give such a influential album less than full marks
Germs
1/5
Good grief, this may be influential but only in a bad way. Belinda Carlisle was almost in the band which might have saved them. I think they described their music as ear cancer which is not something I think bands should aspire to. Total shit.
Air
5/5
This album accompanied me on many travels. It is the best thing to listen to on long bus journeys in exotic places or laze on a balcony watching the surf. Those Frenchies nailed it.
Stan Getz
4/5
What's not to like..bringing Bosonova to the masses. First track is up there with Stans best and perfect sunny Sunday tunes.
David Bowie
2/5
Not convinced by this and whilst it sounds harsh, it's experimental self indulgentness. I suppose that is ok if it's your parting gift but clearly clouded the judgement of some critics. Some decent jazzy moments but won't be revisiting.
The Flaming Lips
4/5
We can't let those evil robots win .. Too right. Loved this at the time and it still connects but maybe not so much now.
Aphex Twin
5/5
I don't remember when I heard this first but feels like it has always been around. Still chills me out after all these years, you can't ask for more than that. Ambient Techno doesn't quite do it justice, it's just the future. I like the idea he created a few songs to clear the raves he was DJing at but not sure that would work with this. Up there with Sabre as as a game changer for my listening tastes, genius.
Doves
4/5
This album passed me by at had time but pretty sure I went to one of their gigs. It ticks a lot of boxes for me and best listened to on the sofa with a cup of tea. Really enjoyed it and will revisit.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
5/5
Well well well, oh to be in Laurel Canyon in 69. I am a big fan of CSN and Y and what a carry on. Some of it sounds a little twee but the highs outweigh any of that. I would listen to Neil Young all day long if I could and Crosby is a true nutter. Put it on sunny day and zone out....
Radiohead
1/5
Words fail me, this must be the moment Radiohead finally stuck their glockenspiel up their arse. Its weird ambient vibe made me angry, maybe that's what they wanted. Possibly the most overrated band in history. They peaked with Creep but somehow got enabled by their weird fans to churn out this twaddle for decades.
Barry Adamson
3/5
Eclectic choice .. I love the idea of making a album as a calling card for future soundtrack jobs....listen to this and give me a job to do the music for your dark film. It works and a couple of songs I will revisit, especially swinging detective, Alfred Hitchcock and man with the golden arm.
Manic Street Preachers
2/5
Was never a manic fan and this is very much beige to me. Some of the shouty ones hit the spot but that is all.
Aerosmith
3/5
Enjoyed this more than I thought. Clearly a filthy bunch of coked up egotists but solid riffs and good tunes.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
4/5
Always partial to a bit of swamp rock and this ticks that box.Occasionally going a bit dukes of hazard but when they are good they are great. Awesome cover of heard it through the grapevine and would have landed my Huey to run through the Jungle. A low 4.
Fela Kuti
4/5
Wow, I should have listened to this years ago. 1970s in west Africa was a crazy time and zombie sums it up. Amazing track and I might put it on most mornings. Didn't realise political repercussions of the record. More afrobeats for me please.
Nanci Griffith
3/5
Sounded good on my walk across the fields but doubt I would wheel it out at a party. Preferred the folky numbers rather than the country ones about old people shagging.
Motörhead
2/5
Too fast, might as well be one long speedy song. I know they kind of invented thrash metal but that's nothing to shout about. Extra star for Ace of Spades.
Giant Sand
2/5
Just a nondescript album, most of it I did not like. Not quite Per Ubu though.
Pink Floyd
4/5
By no means a Floyd fan but listened to this a lot. Not sure why. It's quite self indulgent but wish you were here is one of the greatest songs.... ever
Red Hot Chili Peppers
4/5
Much to my shock, really enjoyed this. Kind of written them of years ago but very strong start, more than just slappy base and cocks in socks. Parallel Universe is a awesome song. Tails of a little towards the end but still a pleasant surprise.
Nick Drake
4/5
This is a odd ball of an album. Some of my favourite tracks, hazy Jane/northern sky and then others that wouldn't look out of place in a hotel foyet. Maybe it's the mix of people playing on it. Still think Nick Drake is a bit of a genius.
Mj Cole
1/5
Oh no, it's Garage. Always found this styleee a bit comedy and best suited to young chavs, of which I am neither. Still not as bad as per Ubu.
Sarah Vaughan
2/5
Bit too trad jazzy for me.... Sure it would be great listening in a smoke filled bar.
Peter Gabriel
4/5
Has some of my favourite eighties tunes, Mercy Street, In Your Eyes and a cracking duet but with the Bush. Can we forgive Sledgehammer..... Yeah we can.
Madonna
2/5
Strangely I seem to know a lot of the songs on this album.... think my brother must have owned it. It's not aged well, sounds like a children's album but like a prayer is a bit of a classic. No more Madonna on this list please.
Black Sabbath
5/5
Never bothered with Sabbath much, so glad this dropped. Supernatural, Snowblind and especially Under the Sun must have influenced any number of bands. They more or less invented a genre or two. I can't believe Ozzy shot his wife. I will listen again so that's a 5.
Bonnie Raitt
2/5
Bluesy, quite like it. Think my clapping dance moves would fit in at her concert.

3/5
Conjured up thoughts of strip clubs. Classy ones, not too seedy. All a bit much for a Monday morning.
The Who
2/5
It is a musical score, a rockier Jesus Christ Superstar if you will. Very self indulgent fare from Pete " just doing some research" Townsend. Obviously a few stand out tunes but it's a very long arduous listen. It's slightly better than Cats though.
Ali Farka Touré
4/5
This was a hypnotic beast of a album. It kind of all rolls into one, didn't even notice it finishing. He's clearly a influential dude and I will definitely go down this rabbit hole again.
Throbbing Gristle
1/5
I feared the worst and most songs are unlistenable. That's probably what they wanted. Worse than Pere Ubu and that's saying something.
The Roots
3/5
Something for everyone. A good antidote after enduring the musical shart of throbbing gristle. The gristle could learn a lot on how to be experimental and tuneful from these guys. God I hated the gristle
The Temptations
4/5
When they turn up the funk they are one of the best. PWARS is genius. Some of it is a bit too doo wop wop for my taste.
Marvin Gaye
5/5
This album flies by. Serious stuff done in a super smooth way. What's going on is the ultimate protest song and is still relevant 50 years after Vietnam. Unlike previously thought, not shagging music.
JAY Z
3/5
Enjoyed the sampling and technique but his ceaseless cussing wore me down. What would his Mum say.
Scott Walker
3/5
Mixed bag. Some absolute classics like old man's back again and enjoyed the opener, seventh seal. Scott is a tad pretentious and would be very surprised if he hasn't been punched often.
Björk
1/5
Avante garde twaddle.... not as bad as the gristle though.
The Velvet Underground
5/5
Don't mind a bit of avante garde arty farty music when it's this good.
David Bowie
4/5
Enjoyed some songs immensely... but did he really sing I would rather be dead than out of my head....sure he would disagree now. More morphinesque sax please.
Paul McCartney and Wings
5/5
There is a turn up.... he's better without the Beatles if you ask me. Clearly enjoying himself and chuffing a lot. I would like a time machine to deposit me on a yacht in 1974 to fully appreciate this.
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
2/5
This stinks of the 80s pop.... I had better things to do than listen to this filth. A lot of filler, not enough killer.
Mylo
2/5
Initial impressions quite favourable but slowly changed to boredom. Don't remember it at the time and forgotten it already. This never happened.
Tracy Chapman
3/5
You wouldn't be normal if you didn't enjoy some of this. However, the fact that Westlife covered one of her songs shows where it's at. Who doesn't like a bit of Westlife ....
Billy Joel
2/5
I wonder who came first, Billy or Elton. Some serious theft going on. Billy likes his wine and doesn't dress like a clown, so gets my vote. Never heard movin out, which is a classic of this tinkering genre.
Willie Nelson
4/5
It must be very tempting to give Willie a bit of a bashing but this is a good antidote to the pretentious punk nonsense of the era. Classic songs with a hint of Bing.... might wheel this out for the in laws at Christmas.
David Bowie
4/5
I don't want to like this as I have reached peak Bowie but it's good. He must have spent a lot of time in German sex dungeons listening to Krautrock.
Beatles
3/5
Overrated album alert....yeah it's got some classic George songs but it's too long and self indulgent. It was probably best they split up.
Stevie Wonder
2/5
Steve's starting to sound like a sex pest. I can imagine this being very popular in the swinging 70s but his warbling is starting to grate. No stand out tunes but a steady grind.
Bob Dylan
3/5
Think this is one that might be best with a time machine. Imagine it was a big deal 60 years ago. Wasn't expecting much but he's a bit of a lyrical gangster. If I was forced to sit in a coffee shop watching him strum away it would be awkward but on the Walkman enjoyed it, despite his annoying voice.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Steve's clawed his way back after that last offering. More funk thank god and less creeping about in people's dreams. Love a bit of mistra know it all.
Brian Eno
4/5
I was very nervous about this collaboration, both being a bit too arty farty but it surprised me. Ambient African samples with a drum machine and lots of twiddling. Ground breaking for the time and enjoyed it, will return.
King Crimson
1/5
Always wondered what king crimson were about, wish I hadn't. Pretentious waffle waffle of the highest order. I resented listening to it and feel people who have enabled such bolloxs be shunned forever.
Beatles
3/5
You had to be there.
Fela Kuti
4/5
Kuti can do no wrong but has anyone ever said, more drum solos please... hell no.
Fugees
1/5
Not my bag
Todd Rundgren
1/5
This is a poor advertisement for psychedelic drugs, gone from Yacht Rock master to unlistenable twaddle.
Duran Duran
3/5
Better than expected.... but still think bonbon and co have a slightly inflated opinion of themselves. Love Barberella though
The Rolling Stones
3/5
It's alright, not many bangers just blues
Rod Stewart
3/5
No doubting his voice and MM is a banger but rest is filler... he should have stayed in the small faces
The Crusaders
2/5
Can you have too much sax.... yes.
Bob Dylan
4/5
Good work Bob
Bob Marley & The Wailers
2/5
Bar stir it up, a surprisingly dull offering
Jimi Hendrix
3/5
I want yo like him more but apart from his classics, overrated.
The Divine Comedy
1/5
Is this really on this list, I thought they were a comedy act, like the wurzzles or raw sex. Pants.
Tina Turner
3/5
I would struggle at a Tina cover band concert but would be clapping along with all the old ladies to a few of these.... she was a pioneer so hats off and loved some sax
Pavement
4/5
Only recent grown to appreciate Pavement. Chose to diss them in the 90s to wind up a mate. What a fool I was. Takes me straight back to the 90s and lo-fi US rock is my thing. Still can't give them a 5 though.
Van Halen
4/5
I should have been listening to this when I was 14..... Hot for teacher is a speed rock classic.
Funkadelic
2/5
Always struggled with funk rock... Bit boring after a while, maybe I just lack the funk.
The Band
2/5
Too rednecky for me
Simply Red
3/5
No doubting micks got soul and holding back the years is a winner but more of a housewives choice
Arcade Fire
4/5
Peak Indie....
Aretha Franklin
4/5
Takes you straight back to the 60s and makes me feel like a natural woman.
Jeff Buckley
4/5
Less enjoyable than 94 but what isn't. A good listen nonetheless.
Talking Heads
3/5
Just blues into one jangly mash up but quite enjoyed it
Kings of Leon
4/5
Is this twenty years ago....crikey. Good party music and bucket makes me want to throw beer around.
Coldplay
1/5
I have heard this enough over the years, music for ladies. It's best suited to adverts and Martin is just embarrassing. How have they sold for many records? Concerts with gliwing f*cking wristbands, f*ck off.
Radiohead
3/5
I have no recollection of ever listening to this album. It's got some cracking songs thank goodness and not as w*nky as the last effort. Bit too long ...
Bob Dylan
5/5
Ticks all the boxes in 66.... Bob at his least annoying and you can feel the legacy of it all. Never listened to it but will revisit.
Roni Size
4/5
My D&B days are firmly behind me but preferred this to some of the more menacing offerings of the time. I could listen to brown paper bag all night, in fact I probably did.
Violent Femmes
2/5
Saw these once and didn't get it. Think I got confused by the drummer standing up and just too alternative. Remember speaking to the bouncer for some reason and he enquired what is this shit.... he has a point. Extra star for Blister.
Pet Shop Boys
2/5
Don't think I have ever listened to this, had a hint of New Order about it and made me think I never really appreciated their electric beats. -1 for going on forever playing the same stuff and wearing pointy hats.
5/5
You can't deny this helped change the world of music, most of it good, lengthy prog rock concept lbums aside. A few turkeys but they can be excused with a day in the life.
Guns N' Roses
3/5
No doubting the riffs and the voice but still a big hair band. Passed me by at the time, only aware of their singles so Nightrain was a revelation.
David Bowie
2/5
Not getting this..... Heroes aside lyrics are just arty farty nonsense.
Ice Cube
2/5
Not as bad as I feared
Os Mutantes
4/5
Bit bonkers but always dug them on the Tropicalia album during my Brazilian phase
Bob Dylan
3/5
It's alright but that's enough Dylan now
Big Star
2/5
They had lost it by this album, confused as to why it's here. Hopefully earlier stuff appears otherwise it's a travesty
Sonic Youth
4/5
Never appreciated at the time but appreciate it's koolness and fuzz nowadays. I remember the cool kids at school plastering this all over their bags ... tossers. Word up.
Suede
2/5
Suede in 92 was a bit of a classic, this is not.
Bob Dylan
2/5
FFS, enough Bob now
David Bowie
2/5
Even Bowie can't have listened to as much Bowie as we have on this list....
Chicago
3/5
Chugged along nicely, preferred the rockier moments but felt like one long Jam as opposed. to different songs.
Alice In Chains
4/5
Takes me back, still sounds as cheery as ever...
2/5
I have decided the kinks are slightly annoying and most of their sing as haven't aged well. This one is just too apple and pears for me.
Gillian Welch
3/5
A real mixed bag, revelator and everything is free chug along nicely but a few folk off numbers as well.
John Martyn
5/5
Bonafide Classic and deserved of a big spliff. JM is a bit of a genius and could listen to this all day..
The xx
2/5
Back in the game.... I like some xx but this just goes over the edge into dodgy Euro Dance... Dangerous is a good tune, good start.
Fred Neil
3/5
Always loved Dolphins
