not an easy listen the first time. It becomes better towards the end so perhaps a repeated listen may make it more enjoyable. But for me not at all at the level of dre, snoop and eminem

I saw this album draws haters and lovers. I agree with both. She has a great voice and can make good music, i liked the cowboy Carter album. But this one has messy compositions. I guess the wealth of collaborations killed any consistency for the album. She should try less hard to be original and just make good music.
Great music, bringing back memories from an annual local African music festival we had in our town in the 2000s. Really fresh with a live music vibe. First african album on the list so far, i hope there will be more. 4+

What an experience to listen to this record. It starts with a song with weird samples that made me fear this would be a one star review. But then there are several really funny and cool songs. Not sure if I will listen to it again but this stuff is why I started this project, to open my mind to new stuff. Three stars.

In the past I listened to loose numbers but was never very impressed. After many stories that this album is so great I gave it another go from a high quality source, this time listening in one piece. I like it better now, although i dont consider it one of the best albums I have heard. Anyway, I’ll keep trying… four stars

Nice impressionistic album. The first songs are the strongest in my view, the album drags a bit towards the end with very long songs.
The album is OK with a few great hits. But as I remember I eventually got tired of those in 1989, I got tired of this album before it ended. The my bitch song must have inspired the fresh prince but then without the humor.

What a surprise to see this on the list. Brave choice from the authors. But I agree she shaped music in this era. A few of the songs are good, basically the hits, albeit very commercial. But there is also a lot of crap in the album beyond the hits. Three stars.

Fun 80s album with a lot of energy
great album, i nver listened to it before but like it much better than ever expected. What a beats. In doubt between 4 and 5 stars, decided to go for 4 since it does become repetitive at the end.
After 64 albums I did not have a single 1 star album. I guess this problem is solved now. I could act as if I understand the intent behind the music and give two stars but this was the first time I seriously doubted if I should finish listening. It is called noise for a good reason.

I had not listened to this album in a long time. It is great again, with such a special voice. Maybe not every track is perfect but the album as a whole has such a special vibe that it merits five stars.

One of the three Eminem albums I own, but I like the Marshall Matters LP better. This one is good too, but the beats and lyrics are less mature.

I was not too impressed with the first talking heads album i had to rate but weirdly enough I started to dig his voice and loved many songs on this album. It must have been great to listen to this live. I should probably relisten the other one… five stars!

So far most albums in the list were either brilliant, or at least enjoyable and the few that were not had some idea behind them that made them stand out. But this was just none of that. It was annoying, terrible songs with poor singing and nothing unique about it. The first time I regretted the decision I will listen 100% to each album. One star.

Apparently a lot of people dont like this and prefer pink floyd. For me the opposite, I dont really get the fuss about Pink Floyd and this is just good music with a unique sound.

The name of this album is so accurate. It was great to hear Southpark’s chef again after many years. The first song is so timeless and I like the buildup in the last spoken word song. 4.5 stars

This list got me into New wave and synthpop. I had never heard of this band but it was a refreshing introduction. The first few songs are the best on this album. It cannot really compete with my introduction into Talking Heads for instance. 3.6 stars
