1001 Albums Summary

Jazz. First song is really fun. Good sample opportunities. Insane that it was from the 70s, futuristic sound even for now. Second song is a lot more emotional, very 80s. Long songs. Third song is pretty “generic”. Lack of cohesion in some parts, but then others are well put together. Back half is much better. Car horn in the 4th song is crazy work. Pretty good song tho. Rumba mama?? ??. Palladium gets the album back on track, similar to first 2 songs with a lot of cohesion. Juggler was fine but couldn’t tell the did between palladium. Having sounds like it’s from the god father 2, specially the Cuba scene. Overall pretty good but not life changing.

Interesting. First song is good, didn’t want to like it but catchy. Different sound then what I’m used to. Second song is good too tbh. Again didn’t want to like it but it’s good music. At least one stretch of 3 good songs in a row to me means a good album, first 3 songs for that billing. Not sure abt Halloween. Good music bad lyrics. Childish. Transition into next song is really cool, monitor is good. Night shift was fine, kinda generic. In on sin in my heart. Great background track. Lyrics through the album are just eh. Music picks it up tho. Will never listen to head cut again. Not really good or bad, just fine. I want to like voodoo dolly but it’s over produced. Way too much guitar going on. If every song was like the first 3, it’s a solid 3.5 pushing 4 stars. Underwhelmed with the back half. Songs I will listen to again, 3.18 total score

First song was pretty good, really quick and would’ve liked more. Very 70s, type of music you’d hear on 70s on 7. So much love is fun, want to sing along. Good baseline/guitars. Son of a preacher man:banger. Had heard this before. Guitar riff is sick. Don’t like the vibe change from song 3 to 4, but song 4 was really good. Back to the ballad on song 5, no skips yet. Guitar, lyrics and singing voice are so good in every single song. Only notes for the middle is that I kind of wish some of the songs were longer. Love the background strings in the windmills of your mind, also cool song title. Mans if make believe was too short, that was a sound I wanted to keep listening to. No way way down gets the album back on track, once again just a well written song with good music behind it. Cohesive last song, very 70s, not the best on the album but not the worst. Ultimately I was very pleasantly surprised. 3.86/5

First song was classic Fleetwood Mac, second is NOT. with that being said I like both. Think about me is fun, I like this one too. Save me a place is mid. Don’t like the guitar. Production is really good on Sara, but not a fan of what they did with the vocals. More weird sound decisions on what makes you think you’re the one (drums are overpowering)a, but catchy tune. Storms is really really good. That’s all for everyone is catchy, but also over produced. A lot going on but still a fun song. Not sure abt the xylophone. Not that funny is pretty good, not much more to say than that. Next two songs I liked, but nothing earth shattering. Angel is oddly normal compared to the rest of the album. Another one where I find myself nodding my along to. That’s enough for me was fine. I like brown eyes a lot, would listen to this song again. Production is funky on on I know I’m not wrong, but it’s a really fun song. Honey hi is forgettable. I like beautiful child a lot, very emotional, good lyrics and good background track. 10 seconds into walk a thin a line and I’m not a fan, again way too much drums it’s hurting my head. The chorus is catchy but production ruins it. Risk is really good, classic Fleetwood Mac. Production again is funky but I think they make it work with this one. Never forget is good not great, probably won’t listen to again. Overall I enjoyed the album, more good than bad ultimately. Probably would listen to the album as a whole again. Don’t really understand the hate, 3.4 stars

Never heard of artist or band coming in, so limited expectations. First song is the type of song you’d hear on an early 2000s sports video game, reminds me of childhood. EDM before EDM. Good opener. I don’t even know what genre this is but I think I like it. Second song is good too, they just throw sounds together but it works. Great guitar on both, subtle but great. Diesel power 🔥🔥🔥. Funky shit is good stuff too, it’s like new age jazz. Had no idea they were making music like this in the 90s. Great transition into serial thrilla. Good song not great. Another cool transition into mindfeilds, right of the bat I can tell this is a good song. Beat is sick. Narayan is very interesting, kind of dark but again good music, but a lot of build up of a lack luster beat drop. I think I’ve heard fire starter before? Stadium song, at least the intro. This song is awesome. No more notes needed. The Climatize guitar/bass wow. Whole song in general again is just really good. Biggest critique is that it could’ve closed with a better song. Overall a really good album that I will listen to again. 4.2 stars.

Before listening notes: I had heard rumblings of someone having a legendary performance at a prison, thought it was Elvis but looks like it was Johnny cash. Looking at the track list I know some of these songs so high hopes. Right off the bat you can tell it’s OLD, but the recording of the first song is actually pretty good. Great opener, fits the situation as well which you have to appreciate. Find myself nodding along, good lyrics. Fun guitar solo too. Guitar is really good on wreck, but not as catchy as wanted man. Still a good song. I like the ad libs between songs, his voice is so buttery. I walk the line is a classic, it’s insane this is with 0 auto tune or anything of the like. I wish it was longer. Darlin companion is very 60s. Will never listen to again but not neccasarily bad. He’s a great songwriter/story teller. Starkville is fun. San Quentin is another fun one, but I’m starting to think a lot of these song sound pretty similar. Not a bad thing because it’s a good sound. I wish all of the songs were longer. I kind of love the back to back. Boy named sue is an all time classic. Great recording. No notes. Seems like a lot of thought went into the tracklist, peace in the valley fits with the theme so well. Not the best song not the worst, but needed. NEED more Folsom prison blues. Underwhelming ending because I really want more. Really fun album. 3.92

Big opener, I think Ive heard it before. Guitar riff is sweet. Very fun song. Almost similar to jazz; lots of sounds thrown together but it works through 2 songs. Cross eyed Mary is a really good song, good guitar and bass. Find myself nodding along. Flute solo into guitar solo is awesome. Cheap day return is a change up. Good filler I guess, I’m sure there’s some deeper meaning that I’m unaware of. Back on track with mother goose, really fun. Good song writing, good production. Intro of the electric guitare towards the end is great. Wondring aloud was fine, similar to cheap day return. Love the beginning of up to me. This is another awesome song. The flute is such a huge part across the whole album, very cool for what I would consider a rock album. Wish up to me was longer. The way they incorporate the electric guitar on my god is so good, and back to the flute. Really, really good. It just doesn’t stop, I don’t understand how someone has the lung capacity for that. Hymn 43 is pretty good, nothing special necessarily. Slipstream is a good segue song. Love locomotive breath going all music to start, great intro and great beat drop. More flute, love that once again. This is a really good song. Wins up is pretty good, not the best not the worst. Really good production. Ultimately I think it wrapped up the non bonus track album up well. Kick your fingers is good, definitely fits the the vibe of the rest of the album. Good flute again. Not the best not the worst. Not sure exactly what is different abt it, but I like the wind up quad version better. Really good album, multiple adds to the playlist. 4.04 stars

Heard of van morrison, never listened to an album. First song is fine, not life changing. More poppy than what I was expecting. As I listen more I’m liking more. Have heard moon dance, banger. Immediate add to the playlist. The jazz fusion in both of the first 2 songs is really cool. Good songwriting too. Songwriting is good on crazy love, song itself is fine. Too soft rock ish for my taste. Chorus is catchy not much more to it. Caravan is better but still not life changing I’d say. Fun song/chorus. Great singing voice. I like into the mystic, production is really good. Songwriting too. Sax solo at the end is really good too. Come running is an interesting change of pace. Fine song. I like these dreams of you better, but still not life changing. Another cool sax solo. I like brand new day, catchy not much more to it. I like the background vocals a lot. Everyone is a fun song, cool background track. Glad tiding is a good song, feel like I’ve heard it before but I have. Great way to end the album, wish more songs were like that one. Ultimately the album was fine, probably won’t ever listen to again. 2.5 stars

Never heard of the band or album, no expectations. First song starts off good it’s fun. Songwriting isn’t special but I like the production a lot. Really cool intro too. A little long but cool nonetheless the less. Red eyes is fun too, this band is more abt music than catchy choruses which I can respect. Find myself tapping my foot along to the beat. Suffering is super emotional, piano and keyboard riffs are sick. Don’t usually like sad songs but this one is doing something to me. First 3 songs all good. I like an ocean as well but not as much as the rest, good not great song. Better songwriting, not as good production. Disappearing is another good one, this album is super cohesive. Eyes to the wind is another one that’s not the best of all time but just a good song. The haunting idle is interesting. Good music, cool bridge song but a little too long. I like burning too, another emotional but fun song. Lost in the dream has some Bob Dylan vibes with the harmonica. Again good not great. In reverse is a really good closer. There’s no one song that I’d say is a commercial hit, but the album as a whole is a really good easy listen. 3.2 stars

Never heard of album or singer. First song, Extremly British. Very 70s as well. Fun song I guess. Very Irish too with the flutes. Not my style. Calvary cross is MUCH better. Love the production. Withered and died is fine to borderline bad. All I have to say abt that. I want to see the bright lights is much better. Love the horn/guitar work. And good songwriting. Beatles vibes. “Drunkards” is good, fine music and songwriting but I like the harmonizing a lot. Good guitar solo too. Not a fan of hallelujah, did not last the test of time. Friend for me is fine nothing special. Little beggar girl is catchy at least, but again just too old. Father Time beat the shit out of Thsi album. End of the rainbow is mid. The great Valerie is probably the best song in the album, but still just good at best. This album as a whole was fine to not good. Worst I’ve listened to so far. 1.8 stars

Finally an album I’ve heard of before today. Start is elite, thinks bout you is one of the best songs of my generation. High school banger ever for how emotional it is. Production lyrics aiming all top notch. Fertilizer is a fun bridge nothing more to it. Sierra Leone is fine, hard to follow up thinks bout you. Great songwriting though. Good subtle base line too. Production and songwriting once again elite on sweet life. Very 2000s with the skits/bridge songs. Not just money works so well. Super rich kids is another banger and a massive part of my childhood. Again just great production and songwriting. I like the chorus to pilot jones, production is pretty good. Ultimately a good not great song. Not really a fan of crack rock, good transition into pyramids tho. Pyramids production🔥🔥. Lyrics great, sweet flow ditch up in the middle. Great song. Guitar outro is amazing. Lost has the best production of any song so far. What a song once again. White was cool enough. Nothing really special. Monks was just fine as well. Coldplay sample on bad religion?? Looks like it’s not credited but opening sounds just like fix you. Good song. Great production. Pink matter🔥🔥. What a feature from 3000. Guitar solo also so sick. Forrest Gump is very interesting. Love the movie quote interpolations. Song itself is fine. Really good album but not his best. Plus some points for significance to me. 3.7 stars

First one I’ve previously listened to end/end and also own the CD. Starts off so hot. Any of the first 3 could be the best on the album, and all have massive significance over future rap. The Dre production and the cube and eazy rhymes are just so good. Fuck tha police has some of the best production that I’ve ever heard in a rap song. And again on gangsta gngsta. Dre/yella were the engines. Lyrics were great too, just another really good song. Starts to slow down with it ain’t ruff good not great song. I really like parental discretion. Piano and bass work so well together. And then the piano solo at the end🔥🔥. Sick sample on 8ball, super similar to boyz n the hood. Ad libs/samples are so ahead of their time. It’s just good song after good song. Something like that is another really good song. Express yourself is another all time classic/all time sample. Another one with massive influence in future rap. No notes on Compton in the house. Great production, great rhymes. I ain’t tha 1 shows exactly why cube had a successful solo career. Dopeman is a classic, no notes needed. Quiet on the set is fine, not life changing. Something 2 dance 2 is a great closer, different from the rest but I think it wraps everything up well. This album is an all time classic and will be played again. Top 100 on Apple for a reason, influential and great music. 4.4 stars, could’ve been 5 with a little more range.

This is a very interesting sound. I think I like the first song a lot. Great guitar. Wish it was longer honestly. Zig zag has Beatles vibes, and love the name. Fun, old school song. Good songwriting. Call on me is pretty good, kind of jazzy/throwing sounds together. Dropout boogie is another fantastic title. Song itself is weird. Not bad but weird. Really cool that they were making these sounds in the 60s. Love the piano. I like “I’m glad” a lot too. Interesting listening to these 60s band and hearing the Beatles influence all over. You could tell me that was Beatles and I’d believe it. Electricity is 🔥🔥. Opening, production lyrics all so good. There’s never been a bad song with yellow brick road in the title, all I gotta say abt that. That’s three great signs in a row, this is a quality album. ABBA zaba is another interesting one, I like the music alot. Kinda just shouting into the mic tho. Sweet solo. Plastic factory is pretty good, nothing special. I like the switch in the middle. When there’s woman sounds like a whole new band/singer. Great range. I like grown so ugly as well, the background tracks have been so good across all songs. Mix of Beatles and Dylan. Autumn’s child is fine but a bit underwhelming as the closer. Doesn’t ruin the album by any means. This was really cohesive and a lot of good songs. Would recommend. 3.4 stars

Really fun opener. Bass line is so sick. How were they doing this production without computers. Guitar on days of the lords🔥. Songwriting is really good too. This is a great song. Can’t get over how good the guitar and bass are. Love the slow fade in on candidate. Rest of the song is just Ok. Back on track with insight. Again, how did they make some of these sounds. Good/catchy lyrics. Really good songs, outro was very cool. Guitar once again on new dawn fades is fire. The layers of instruments work so well. Production is insane on the whole album. She’s lost control is so good too. These guys don’t miss. Shadowplay is a great one again, can’t help but bop along to it. The whole album has 70s influence, but you can tell it’s going towards the 80s pop sound/production. Wilderness is pretty good, good guitar and bass again but not as catchy. Interzonenis very interesting. The harmony is cool, never heard 2 songs in 1 like this. Also very catchy. Ahead of its time, sounds like it’d be from the 90s. I remember nothing is dark in the best way. Makes me want to run through a brick wall. Good closing song, but with how it started I thought I was going to get a little more. Overall this is a really good album. Ahead of its time. More people need to listen to this. 3.8 stars.

Opening song is a banger, all time pop classic. She’s got pipes. Reminds me of childhood even tho it came out 10 years before I was born. Express yourself is another banger. Love song is really interesting. I like the production a lot, not very catchy tho. I like til death do us part, great production again and much catchier. Really good story telling/songwriting. Promise to try is pretty good, really good songwriting, a little too melancholy for my liking. Cherish is another classic that reminds me of both childhood and my retail days. PTSD from the BJs receiving dock. Banger nonetheless. Production is so good on dear Jessie. Good not great song, kinda cheesy? Lyrics. This song was not made for me, simple as that. Really cool transition Into oh father. Another song with great production. This is a good song all around. Keep it together is pretty good, more 80s than the rest. Catchy tho. Madonna is a great song writer. Shines through again on Spanish eyes. Really cool ending with act of contrition. This is worth another listen, I think second time around would get an even better score. After first listen, I give it 4.1 stars

This is a hard album to rate because I don’t have much jazz listening experience to compare against. It is definitely audibly pleasing, but I’m not going to be adding any of the parts to my music. I like part 2 the best, the piano is incredible. Part 4 is next, feels almost emotional and angry. 1 and 3 are fine, nothing too special. Good music to listen to while working. Pretty calming too. Overall pretty average, but best I’ve heard for jazz yet. 3.4 stars.

Heard of Otis Redding only from samples from modern songs. First full album listen. Ole man trouble was good, he can really sing and good background track. Respect is a banger. Honestly I wish it was longer. I love the trumpets on all the songs. Extremly soulful. This is hard to judge because I’ve never listened to anything like it. It’s good music either way. I like changes gonna come a lot too. The way all the instruments work together is so good. Ahead of its time. Down in the valley is the worst song so far, but that’s saying something because I still think I like it a lot. Simply good music. No notes on I’ve been loving too long. Could’ve been longer and maybe better lyrics but great music. More fun with Shake, I like the switch up. My girl is obviously classic, no idea it was Otis. What a goddamn song. Wonderful world is pretty good, hard to follow up the best song on the album. Rock me baby is great songwriting. Not as much of a ballad. Sweet guitar solo in the middle. Satisfaction is another classic. Bangers beginning middle and end. Horns and songwriting are so good on water. Another Extremly well made song. Great way to wrap it up. I wanted more. This is really good music. 4.2 stars

Never heard of album or band. Immediately tell it’s going to be alt-ish. Zebra was fine. Nothing special. Silver soul has a better start. Emotional, but I like it. Pretty poppy. Love a good song to sing fade in. Norway is pretty good, I want to like it more but there’s some parts that I don’t get. Walk in the park is the best song so far. Pretty catchy but not much more to it. Used to be is pretty fun, good song writing and I like the piano. Lover of mine is mid. I actually like better times a lot more than the last few. Emotional and good background music. Really like the guitar. 10 mile stereo is pretty good too, picking up towards the back half of the album. Real love is pretty good too. I like the piano a lot. Really cool outro too. Take care is a really good closer, one of the best songs of the album. Overall, not life changing. Good not great. Probably won’t listen to again. 2.4 stars

Never heard of album or band. Not ready for a 2 hour album but here we go. First song is funky. Sounds almost like electric jazz, sounds thrown together. Apple Music says this is one of the most popular songs, I’m not making it all the way if that’s the case. Lots of different sounds but not much cohesion. Still not even halfway through the song. Needs to be done by now. It’s like one of those painting that looks like it’s just lines and colors in no particular order but for some reason it’s really famous. I was making beats like this as a 13 year old and they were just as bad. Second half are we fucking kidding. Very 90s/goofy. Stupid as alarms and phone rings. I can’t believe how much I hate this song. And they made it 20 mins. After minute 15 sounds like a horror film score. Not sure if the vocals were repeated enough (sarcasm). With all of this being said I like the outro minus the vocals. I like saint angel better, actually works together but should’ve ended after 3.5 minutes. I like state of mind, that piano is really good. First one that actually sounds like a real song. Pharrell vibes. Doesn’t even credit the vocalist which is the best part of the song, that’s crazy. 4 minutes too long once again. I like the baseline a lot. First minute of this is a bad was good, then it just gets weird. Sea of tears is kind of fun. Don’t need the guitar. Would like lyrics. Base at 340 is a great addition. Should’ve ended at 430. All of these songs are Extremly long for no reason. Especially considering there’s a lack of cohesion so you could just split them into two songs with a cool fade bridge from one to the next. There are some really good 30 sec-1min parts of all of these songs, but that means nothing when their 12 minutes long. Nah the seventh seal sounds like “futuristic” video game background music. Drums are pretty good. Back half sucks. Over produced. Beeps are annoying/way too loud. Bass line on sense of rage is sick, interested to see how it gets ruined. Called it, don’t know why they switched it up. Excess Beeps are much needed (not). This doesn’t seem like music that you could dance too. Still life is more of the same. Just not my style but I’m going to tough it out. Good working music because there’s nothing to get distracted by. Similar to the one minute thing I mentioned earlier, a lot of these songs have good elements just too much in top of it. Great vocals on angel. They need more of that. Back half is awesome. This is the best song on the album by FAR. Adrift sounds like an intro song, should’ve put it at the start. More of the same. Not really a fan. Whole album is the type of song that you’d play around your boys and they’d all say “what is his shit?” But in the worst way. None of these songs go together in the way I’d hope from a cohesive album. Maybe in cohesiveness is the theme and I’m not smart enough to get that. With that being said anyone who tries to tell you this is good is lying to themselves and probably sniffs their own farts. Is this what Europeans listened to in the 90s while America had jay z and mj and prince and Whitney Houston etc? They were missing out if so. Up until now I don’t have any worse than a two stars. This is getting a .5 just so it shows up as 1 star but I would not recommend to anyone. Half the time and I’d call it an average music production. It’s two hours of nothingness that my ears won’t get back. I hope this is number 1001 of the 1001 most influential. I can’t believe there’s still 4 songs left. Drums are super fast on kemistry. Did this type of music create the need for Molly or did Molly create this music? Either way both are bad for you. Cool outro on kemistry. First minute seconds of you and me 🔥🔥🔥. Next 5 is more overproduced bullshit. Piano is good. Admittedly I haven’t listened to much electronic, but comparing this to something like skrillex or avicii makes it sound like trash non sense. Inner city life baby boy edition is good. Actually sounds like a real song. Wish I didn’t have to wait an hour and half for it. Sick bass line. Normal length too. Rabbits version is worse. Didn’t need that. Like I said before, this album is getting a .5. I want my 2 hours back. Don’t waste your time.

Heard of band not the album. View from the afternoon is a really good start. Great guitar, catchy lyrics. Very British. Cool switch up in the middle. Find myself nodding along. Dance floor is super catchy. Very early 200s pop rock. Great song writing. Honestly wish it was longer. Love the guitar riff on fake tales. This song is really good. Love how it continues to build up as the song goes along. Again, wish it was longer. Not as much of a fan of dancing shoes, a little cheesy lyrics wise. Good guitar solo. “You probably” is fun. Good not great. The song writing throughout the album is really good, I love the story telling. You know nothing is so fun. Song you want to sing along to. Riot van is more of the same in the best way. Red light has the best guitar of any song so far. Not sure how I feel abt the tuning on the vocals but song is really good. More really good song writing on Mardy bum. Don’t know what that means though. Perhaps is pretty good, nothing special. Sweet outro. When the sun goes down is another fun song. Catchy chorus. Awesome bass line on Ritz. Simple guitar but works so well. Songwriting is great as it has been the whole album. Such a good song. Another great bass line on certain romance. Great music, more great songwriting. 5.5 minute outro rocks. Guitar solo in the middle is good as well. This album just kept getting better as I listened to more, and the same can be said for the last song. Banger, great way to close it out. Will have to to listen again soon. 3.7 stars, could end up going up on second listen.

Fan of one muse song but never heard this album. Take a bow is awesome, feels and sounds like a real album opener. I love how it just builds and builds. Bass drop is crazy. This is a really good song. Good transition into starlight. Good songwriting on this one, not as good background track imo. Black hole is very poppy. Good amount of range on this album so far. This song is really fun. Very 2006. Best guitar so far on problématique. I love the piano as well. This is another banger. Soldiers poem is fine, shows good range but not my style of music. Back on track with invincible. Started slow but songwriting is so good and picks up as the song goes on. This whole album is a great blend of pop and rock, with emphasis on the rock. Assassins is more similar to the muse I had heard prior to this. Just a good rock song. Great drums and guitar. Crazy sounds on exo politics, production is fantastic. City of delusion is good too, cool use of violin/strings. Not the best but not the worst in the album. Horns too at the end wow. Not a normal rock song at all. Hoodoo is super interesting. The first half is mid, but once the piano and following instruments come in it is awesome. I think I’ve heard knights of Cyndonia before? Banger. Classic muse. Glorious is pretty good, I’m counting Cydonia is as the last one. This is a great album. Muse is a great band. Will listen to again. 4.1 stars

I own this album but never actually listened all the way through. Rocking with U2 tho so high hopes. Good opener, very interesting sound. Real thing is catchy, good songwriting. Pop rock. Very cool guitar solo. One is a classic. 30 years later and still in commercials says something. End of the world is fine. Nothing special. Wild horrors is catchy, but very generic U2. Production on so cruel is ahead of its time. Great piano/drums. Simple but super affective. Too much going on with the fly. Not a bad song but the production is off. I like the guitar solo tho. Followed up by the best song on the album, maybe the best ever released by U2. Mysterious ways is just a great song, no notes. I like trying to throw your arms a lot. Need more emotion in their songs like this one. Bono is a great singer/songwriter. Ultra violet is pretty good, great songwriting but a little generic. I like acrobat, classic U2. Love is blindness feels like a closer which I like a lot, makes the album feel like an album. Emotional/different which the album needed. Over pretty good, some all time classics but as an album just pretty good. 3.4 stars

Never heard of album have heard of band. She found now is fine? Music is pretty good, lyrics don’t add anything. Not really Catchy at all. Not a fan of only tomorrow. Some cool sounds but not a song I’ll ever listen to again. Same with only tomorrow. Too much guitar so far. Need a little variety. This is angsty teen music and I am not an angsty teen. Really good guitar solo on who sees you with that being said. Is this and yes sucks. It’s not a song it’s low fi wavy beats to study to. 4.5 minutes too long. Still waiting for the song to start. If I am is better but still not great. New you is more of the same. Vocals are way too quiet. Last 45 seconds is such a waste of time. I actually kind of like in another way, something abt it is better than the rest. With that being said, it’s a minute too long once again. Still waiting for “nothing is” to start. Same bad guitar riff for 3 minutes, what was the point. Didn’t even fade into the closer. Again, what was the point. You can’t tell me someone heard that and said “this is a great song”. Album didn’t stand the test of time. Influential in the sense that it’s a blueprint of what not to do when making an album. 1 star.

Never heard of band or album. 10 minute first song has me weary. Cool baseline. Vocals suck. A theme I’m noticing with these older rock albums is that the background music is way louder than the vocals. Guitar is choppy and feels improvised but not in a good way. Could’ve ended this song after 3 mins. Drums were good I guess. Memories is a lot better. Still bullshit vocals. Unnecessary. Swan lake is pretty good. Great guitar. Bass/drums are the best part of every song. Ending is really weird/bad. Pop tones is fine.way too long tho. I don’t understand these sounds going for so long when it’s the same riff on loop. We didn’t need the last 3 minutes of that. Careering sucks. Giving me a headache. Socialist is ok. More of the same. Graveyard has some good element but feels incohesive. I can’t believe it’s not even halfway done. This album just didn’t stand the test of time. I can understand how at the time of real ease it could’ve been “influential” but it’s not a good listen at this point. No birds is fine. Not the best or worst on the album. Weird ending again. Chant is weird. Good guitar. Radio 4 is kind of refreshing? No weird shouting or ad lib bed guitar. Works as a closer. I think this saved it from 1 star but I would not recommend. 1.5 out of 5

Never heard of album or band. Good guitar/drums in first song. You’ll never convince me that screaming into the mic like this is talent. With that being said the songwriting isn’t bad. Ending is really cool. Attitude is a very apt name. I like this one. Cut throat is fine. The background tracks have been really good throughout so far I just don’t like the vocals. Rattamahatta is more shouting. More good guitar. Breed apart is crazy in a good way. Makes me want to rage. Straighthate is 🔥🔥🔥. Best one so far. I’m liking this album and subsequently the genre as a whole more and more as I hear more. Spit was fine nothing special but not bad. Lookaway is really cool/unique. Layered guitars is so cool. Ending is a little unnecessary. Dusted is pretty good not the best not the worst. I like born stubborn a lot. Great guitar/drums. Solo is 🔥🔥. Jasco is so so refreshing. Incredible bridge into the last third of the album. Incredible range to go from heavy metal shouting into the mic to making great music like jasco and itsari. Hard to put into to words what I like about these songs but they are just good listens. Back to regularly scheduled programming with ambush. Can’t help but nod along to the guitar riff. Really catchy lyrics too. Not sure abt the back half. Endangered species 🔥🔥. Guitars are insane throughout. Dictator shit was fine. Interesting start to canyon jam. Interesting all the way through. So different from the rest of the album. Not great but not horrible. Overall I enjoyed the album more than expected. Made me appreciate heavy metal a lot more. 3.3 stars

This is a great album, I had a long drawn out review that disappeared after I had to take a pause from the album to go to a meeting at work. The production and recording is better quality than San Quentin, but I think I like the San Quentin set list a little bit more. Great music, great lyrics throughout. I love how he interacts with the crowd. 45 mins of fun music, even the ballads. I would absolutely recommend this album. 3.92 stars, same as San Quentin.

Never listened to album but know some of the songs. Hot start. Movin out is a banger. Stranger is another really good song. Great songwriting. Production could be a little better. Whistling is super impressive. Just the way you are is another classic. Great saxophone. Very catchy. First part of Italian restaurant is EH, second half is much better. Fun song. Vienna is so good. Start to finish just a perfect song. Only the good die young is another all timer. No notes. She’s always a woman might be the worst on the album but that’s saying something because it’s still good. I like get it right the first time, more of the same. And a fantastic closer in everybody has a dream. This is a really good album, 0 skips. Billy Joel has it. 4.1 stars

Never heard of album or band. Not sure what to expect. Stephanie knows is interesting. Good guitar, sounds ahead of its time. Not the biggest fan of the solo but I like the jazz fusion. Orange skies is fine, nothing special. Que vida is good, good songwriting but background is old. Not really a fan of the castle. She comes in colors is better. 18 minute closer is crazy. Let’s see how far I make it. Really good production/background music at least. Fine song, didn’t need to be 18 mins. Pretty good album but nothing special. 2.5 stars.

Heard of band but not sure I know any music. Cool start on neighborhood #1. Really good production for the most part, wish the vocal were a little louder. Love the piano. Fun song. #2 is a fun/well produced song as well, is there a connection to number 1? Unclear. Less of a fan of une année. Good guitar, don’t like the drums. Feel choppy. Just a little too slow overall. That’s until the last 45 seconds. Great solo. This is what I wanted tempo wise. Xylophone is uneccasary on #3, but rest of it I like. I also love the cohesion of the album so far with the different neighborhoods. #3 is so good, keeps getting better as it goes. Love the guitar. Great songwriting. #4 is pretty good not the best or worst. Good songwriting, music is kind of simple compared to the rest of the album. Crown of love is fine. Good songwriting but just doesn’t hit me. Really cool last 55 seconds. I’ve definitely heard wake up before, sounds like a radio song. Guitar is awesome. This song is so good. Haiti is fine, saved by the transition into rebellion. Rebellion is awesome. One of the best on the album. In the backseat is a great ender, captures the theme of the whole album. Constantly build up. Really fun album. Would listen again. 3.4 stars

Not sure what to expect, never heard of album or band. First song starts off weird. Not neccasarily bad but weird. Harmonica solo is cool. For how choppy this is it’s actually pretty catchy. Blues music reminds of beck in a good way. This is another good song. Love the guitar on garbage man. Relatively simple but works so well. It’s another good song. Best one so far I think. The drums on all of these are very interesting, it not just your generic drum beats. Have to appreciate that. Eyed have miles as a whole is just fine, nothing special really. Not a fan of baby’s got sauce. Just a little too cheesy. Really good lyrics on rhyme for summertime. Good song. Cold beverage is fine. I like fatman. Great title and fun song. I like this ain’t living a lot. Classic 90s song. Definitely have heard on the radio before. Walk to slide is fine. Nothing special. Shooting hoops is goofy but also really well written. Don’t feel like it fits on the album. Back in track with some people’s like that, pretty good. Town to town was just fine. I would’ve liked a better ender. I live you is just fine. Overall the album was good not great. 2.8 stars

Never heard of album or band. Had started a review but didn’t save so quick recap: like school but the sound engineering is very off. Way to quiet at random points. I like bloody well a lot end to end. Hide in your shell is fine but not great. Asylum is awesome, good lyrics set to great orchestration. 100% have heard dreamer. Absolute classic. No notes. Rudy is very well written, guitar solo at 2 mins is great. Middle is kind of uneccesary, seems like a time filler. But then 430 on is great, love the build up but sounds like a completely different song. Not necvasarily a bad thing. I like the piano and flute a lot on “listening” beyond that just an average song. Title track is a great ender, feels like a culmination of the whole album. Some elements similar to the rest of the songs but Also feels like the last song. Pleasantly surprised as a whole, I think I need to give this another listen in the future. 3.2 stars.

Going to keep this short and sweet because once again my review did not save. Immigrant song is a classic, great opener. Friends and celebration day are perfect examples of why people think zeppelin is one of the goat rock bands. Incredible guitar and drums, mixed in with great background tracks and vocals. Since I’ve been loving you is just fine. Out on the tiles is forgettable but still a good song. Gallows pole is incredible. Best song on the album so far. Banjo mixed with electric guitar is awesome. Just keeps going in the best way. Never want it to end. Tangerine is a little goofy, not my fave. With that being said the guitar solo is super cool. That’s the way is very well written. Absolute ballad. Another great song. Guitar right off the bat on bron-y-aur 🔥🔥. The lyrics/harmony just go so well with it as well. Can’t help but tap my foot along. Sign of a great song. Never heard a guitar like the one on hats off. First half is A little too disorganized for me. Back half is really cool and a great outro for the album. This was an incredible album that I will be listening to again. Top to bottom great music. 4.3 stars

Never heard of album or band. First song is pretty good, simple but effective guitar. Vocals are kind of bull shit. Same with go be delighted. I just hate the heavy metal auto tune screaming type deal. Again good guitar and pretty catchy background track. Rockets are red is more of the same. It’s not good songwriting but the band is good. Sounds is off on this one too, band is way louder than vocals. Satin down is my favorite so far, closest to a normal good song. Until 2 mins in. Then it’s back to shouting over a pop track. It’s nickleback but screamo. Let me come back is loud for some reason. I do like the guitar tho. Just take out the vocals and all of these songs are better. Guitar once again is SO loud on learned it. So much louder than anything else. With that being said I do like the guitar riff, and the drums are good. Just not enough variety song to song. Also no cohesion between songs. More of a playlist than an album unless I’m missing something. I like get down because you can kind of understand what the singer is saying. More basic guitar and drums. Bullet proof Cupid kind of rocks. Bullshit lyrics (wicked quiet again) but catchy background music. I honestly feel bad for the band members aside form the singer. They deserve better. 7 seas is fine. I’m still waiting for something influential or unique from this album. I just don’t think it’s coming. It’s generic rock with bullshit lyrics. I wish I bailed out sooner. 1.4 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Strong opener, but definitely dated. I like the background track a lot, especially the guitar. Yes sir no sir is really fun too. Again dated, but it’s still a good song. Love the horns. Not as big of a fan of some mother’s son but the harmony is cool and it’s not horrible. Drivin is fun but nothing special. Brainwashed is super catchy. This is a great song. Guitar solo on Australia is awesome, especially mixed w the horns. Rest of it is eh. Don’t really like shangri la but also it’s not horrible. Mr Churchill says is a banger. Great songwriting and guitar. Feel like I know the words without ever hearing the song before. Princess marina is just fine, nothing special. I like young and innocent days a lot, really unique music. Great production. Nothing to say is very well produced as well. So many layers. Great guitar throughout. One of my favorites. Arthur is really good too. Guitar is so good too to bottom. Songwriting too. This album just kept growing on me. One I want to listen to again. 3.4 stars. I

I have high hopes for this album but also not neccasarily a jazz fan but know the legend of miles Davis. Right off the bat I get it with “move”. Incredible trumpet player. Sax is incredible too. Wish it was longer. I like Jeru a lot too. It hard to give good analysis because I don’t really know what I’m listening for, but it is audibly pleasing/uplifting while have no words. I didn’t want Jeru to end. Moons dreams is just a little too slow for me. I like how it builds up as the song goes. Venus de Milo is awesome. Can’t help but nod along. And then into budo. I’m getting the hype. Deception is fine, not the best on the album. Godchild is just fine as well. Back on track with boplicity. Great music. And it just keeps getting better as it goes. What a fun song. Rocket and Israel were both fun too, but middle of the pack as far as song rankings. Rouge is really fun, and a great way to close out. It’s a very fun 33 minutes. Will listen again. 4 stars.

Finally. A true all time classic GOAT album. I don’t have to listen because I’ve heard it 1000 times in the last year but I’m going to because that’s how great it is. Second hand news is a great opener. Sets the tone and sounds like an intro. Incredible harmonies. Great production as we’ll see throughout the album. Electric guitar is subtle but adds so much. Wish I got more of that outro is my one critique. No notes on dreams. Great song, one if not the best on the album. Songwriting is so good. Production is so good. Guitar on never going back again is so good. Just another great song. Harmony too🔥🔥. Not long enough. And then into don’t stop. Piano and electric guitar carry. Great songwriting as we see throughout. Have to five love to the bass line on go your own way. Song is so damn catchy. Almost perfect. 1 of 4/5 perfect songs on the album. Guitar solo at the end is simple but so effective. Songbird might be my least favoraite in the album but that’s saying something because it’s still a great song. Again great blend of piano and guitar. Also incredible vocals. Need a song like this to lead into the chain. Which brings me to my next point. The chain is one of the best songs of all time. It’s hard to describe why but it just is. From the very first bass drum kick it’s perfect. The production, the vocal harmonies, the songwriting it’s just great. Not only that but it keeps getting better as it goes. I wish it would never end. You make loving fun is another banger, just hard to follow up the chain. Great production. Very poppy. I don’t want to know is so good too, but feels a little out of place. Feels very fun, surrounded by much more emotional songs. Good pallet cleanser. Oh daddy I so emotional but still makes me want to hear more. The production once again is so good. So many musical layers. And a perfect ender with gold dust woman. Guitar is so good. Lyrics are so catchy. Perfect encapsulation of the album as a whole. Again, never want this song to end. It’s an easy 5 stars. Top to bottom incredible album. Only 1 of a few that will get a 5.

First time with an album in a different language. Production on tantos is good. I like the piano a lot. 2 mins too long. Love the transition into Voce gosta. I like this song a lot. Ne neblina is a very interesting sound. I kind of like it. Whole album has heavy jazz influence. Piano carries throughout. Songs are just a little too long. Antropofagos is so good. Just keeps going but in a good way. Inspires emotion. Feels catchy but with no words. Violon and sintar🔥. Back to very jazzy with felicidade. This is really good music to have on while doing work. Um dia comum is a great production. Give this beat to a pop star and they’d go number 1 with whatever they sang over it. Sereia is not my fave but not awful bad song. Gringo is really fun. Great guitar and percussion. Abraco is fine. Good aspects but doesn’t hit as hard as other songs on the album. A noite is good not great. I like the a change of pace in the middle. Cool sounds. First and last 2 mins are good, middle 3 are eh. I like pecados a lot. Very dark. Good closer. Ultimately a pretty good album. 2.5 stars.

Never heard of album or band but I’ve liked the metal albums on this list so far so high hopes. Opening song is really good. Nodding along the whole way. Drums are crazy. Vocals are eh. Song writing is fine but not a fan of the lead singers voice. Great guitar solo at the end. Caught in a mosh is also good but not as good as among the living. The guitar and drums are so good. I am the law is a classic heavy metal song. Nothing life changing but good song. NFL is my favorite song so far. Pretty catchy. More good guitar and drums. I like skeleton in the closet. Good chorus. Indians is more of the same. Good song not great. Very cool solo. One world is fire. Mosh music. Crazy solo at the end. Intro to ADI is so good. Wanted more of that. Rest of it is meh. With that being said, it doesn’t feel like 7 mins which is a positive. Outro is really cool too. They might’ve save the best for last. I really like imitation of life. Obviously the guitar is great but this one is als very well written. Good not great album as a whole. 2.8 stars.

Obviously have heard of Bowie but haven’t listened to any albums. Young American is a classic. Not the best of all time tho. Great trumpet. Win is fine. Not my style. Fascination is pretty catchy, but definitely dated. Cool guitar for sure. Production as a whole is really good, again it’s just a little dated. Right is also a bit dated but the music is so good. I love the layers of instruments used on all of the songs so far. Somebody up there is good not great. Very well written, cool sax. This is just not the Bowie I’m used too, incredible range which hands to add points. Ending is really good. Not really a fan of across the universe, it’s fine but don’t need to hear it again. It did not ch age my world. Can you hear me is so good. Not my style at all but it just makes me feel something. Guitar and bass are so good. Ending with fame (a classic) is such a good way to close this album. I immediately want to listen again, it just kept getting better as it goes. Do yourself a favor and listen. 3.6 stars on the first listen.

Never heard of album or band. Not a fan of song one. Ending is pretty good but first 90% is not. Good elements but lack of cohesion. Track B is a lot better. This is classic jazz. Not the best I’ve ever heard but good either way. Really good piano on track C. Really good flute too. This song keeps growing in me. Guitar is so good as well. Should’ve ended after that. Not a fan of the drums. Ending is pretty cool. 19 minute closer. Once again I like the guitar a lot. Best part of the album and it’s barely used (so far). This is a classic jazz song. Again tho I’m not that impressed. Horns are screechy and don’t work together. Drums don’t make sense. Piano is pretty good. I don’t get why it doesn’t end at 645 and start with a new title, there’s no cohesion either way. Definitely some cool sounds in this song there’s just a lot that doesn’t go together at the same time. Is that a xylophone? 11:40-13:00 is really fun. Back half is definitely better than the first half but still just ok overall. It’s definitely no Coltrane or miles Davis. 2.3 stars.

Very interesting start. Jazzy but not jazz instruments. It’s very dated. Vocals are ok at best. Background track is trash. Low expectations considering Apple Music says this is the most popular song. Good guitar and bass on hard coming love, but way over produced. Vocals are off too. Too loud. Cloud song is pretty cool. It’s funny because there’s some really dated elements to this album but also some parts that were ahead of its time. Earthly delights is fine. I like the production in this one alot better but still a little too much going on at parts. Wooden wife is very 60s. Fun but not my style. A lot going on. Where is yesterday is a very interesting switch up. I like this one. Love the fade into coming down. By far the best song/production so far. Simple guitar/bass that work so well in tandem. Dead Che is a little too slow for me. Good production though. Stranded in time is fine. I like the singing parts. Music is mid. Pt 1 couldn’t be any more different than the previous two songs aside from there being way too much going on. Tuba (I think) is unnecessary. Good guitar solo. Switch up at 2 mins is crazy. What an interesting song. I think I like this song as a whole a lot. Great closer, leaves me wanting more. 2.4 stars for the original album. Bonus tracks: osamus birthday was fine. Nothing special. No love to give is more on brand. Over produced but good aspects. Wooden wife alt version is really good. I like it better than the album version. You can never come down is pretty good. Definitely catchy. Perry peur is very wimsical. Good keys. Good song writing on tailored man. Sound is a little off again tho. A lot of these bonus tracks are starting to sound the same. I get why they didn’t make the base album. Alternate version of circus is way too much. Had to skip to mouse which I actually thought was really fun. Heresy too is fun. Overall not the best but not the worst. Sticking with 2.4.

2 “krautrock” albums in a row on a random list is crazy. Never heard of album or band. I like the intro song and how it continues to build up. Relatively basic but not in a bad way. Spoke a little too soon. It never really reaches a crescendo which is a let down. 12 minutes of GTA loading screen music. It’s not bad but also not necessarily good. Wasn’t expecting English lyrics. Sad skinhead is goofy in the worst way. Bullshit song. Over produced. Guitar is good tho. Jennifer has a lot of interesting sounds going on. Actually work pretty well all together. Really good/unique bass. Not a fan of the vocals. Last 2 mins are interesting. I like the piano to close it. Guitar on just a second is really good. Wish they stuck with it. The bug part in the middle sucks. Not really a fan of the end either. Again, first two mins of giggy smile are fun. Middle is a lot better than second. Really good bass line. Sax is fine. Would’ve liked more of everything else. Another switch up at 4 mins, I like this one too. Back half was kind of whack. This album just isn’t my style. Laugh is fine but more of the same. A lot going on through out. After 4:30 it’s simply a new song. Pretty cool, I liked it more than the first half. I like it’s a bit of pain, I think if the rest of the album was closer to this one(aside from the weird guitar in the middle) I would’ve had a better feeling about it. Mid to bad album. 2 stars.

Never heard of singer or album. Childs Christmas in wales is pretty good. Fun song. Very 70s. More poppy than rock but good background track. Good songwriting in hanky panky no how. Catchy song. Definitely dated. Bass on the endless plain is so good. You could put any lyrics over that production and have a hit. Good guitar too. How was this released in the 70s, I can’t imagine how long it took to record all of the instruments. Andalucia is fine. Nothing special. Very 70s. Macbeth is different. Very much so 60/early 70s rock. Beatles vibes. Good production again. I like Paris 1919 a lot too. The production is ahead of its time through out. He’s singing over orchestras it’s very audibly pleasing. Graham Greene is fun, not much more to say abt it. Same with half past France. Don’t like the whispering on Antarctica, but the background track is good once again. Pretty good album. Not life changing. 2.6 stars.

Heard of Elvis Costello but never listened to an album. No action was fine. Nothing special. Good songwriting/rhymes on this years girls. Pretty good song. The beat is fun. None of this is life changing so far though. I like pump it up. Definitely dated but catchy nonetheless. Good guitar too. Little triggers is forgettable. You belong to me in the other hand is a great song. What a bass line. And the keys too. Honestly wish it was longer. Hand in hand is pretty good too. Good production. Good production again on lip service. Really well written again, catchy chorus. Living in paradise is kind of simple but it’s fun again. This is all refreshing/fun music at least. Lipstick vogue might be my favorite on this album. Production and lyrics are both really good. I want more of it. Night rally is just ok. Kind of forgettable. Big tears is pretty fun. Good production as is most of the album. Radio radio is pretty fun too, not much range on this album but overall pretty good. Probably won’t listen again. 2.6 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Is this a musical? UFO sighting is choppy. Weird flute. This song kind of sucks. I like Blackhawk a lot more. Still seems like a musical though. Not neccasarily a bad thing just not my style. Piano on come on is really good. This is an all around fun song. Not a fan of John Wayne gay ce. You could tell me this was released in the 60s and I’d believe it. This is not a good thing for a 2005 album. Jacksonville is kind of fun. As I keep listening I can’t help but ask: wtf is this album and who is it for. I can’t believe I’m only 7 songs in. Decatur is goofy. Chicago isn’t horrible. Good songwriting. Dated background music. Can definitely appreciate the song writing on Casimir. Very impressive. Rock river valley is fine. Again, I can appreciate the songwriting on metropolis but it’s just not my type of music. Predatory is more of the same. If you like soft rock this is the album for you. Just not my cup of tea. Cool horns I will say. Cool transition into night zombies. Back half is a lot better. A lot of filler on this album like in this temple. Really cool fade into seers tower tho. Tallest man is good music but not a great song if that makes sense. Riffs and variations is pretty cool o guess. Out of Egypt too. Again it all sounds like a musical soundtrack. It’s definitely a unique album. Just not my style. 2.2 stars.

First song has prince vibes. Pretty good pop tune. No is a really cool sound. A lot going on but I like it. Not a fan of bop, very dated. Gloomy Sunday is pretty cool. Jude spoons too. Nothing crazy but good enough song. Middle part is bullshit/unneccasary. Skipping was forgettable. Better this way is ok. Party fears two is definitely the best in the album. Very 70s. Not a lot of uniqueness on this album. No one instrument stands out. Club country is more of the same. This album seems more like pop than rock. Can’t believe it’s not even halfway done. Another album with great critical reviews that I just don’t agree with. This album is nothing. 18 carat love affair is pretty good I guess. Kind of catchy. Not a fan of them I read a book. Australia is pretty fun tho. Good songwriting. Good piano/bass on Grecian. Rest of it is pretty whack. Room we sat in is only good because it’s the last song. This album is very 80s pop. If that’s what you like then you’ll like this. I think it’s generic and lazy. Not at all life changing or “influential” from what I can see. 2 stars.

Obviously have heard of nirvana, never listened to this album. Not sure how I feel about acoustic but let’s see. Kurt cobain can fuckin sing. About a girl is really good. Can’t believe it’s live. Guitar solo is great. Come as you are is a classic. It’s crazy because it doesn’t sound acoustic at all. That guitar riff is just so good. “Jesus” is fine. Not my fave but good enough song. Woah what a rendition of the man who sold the world. Immediately makes me want to listen to the original then go back and listen to this one again. Pennyroyal tea is another really good song. Definitely had heard it prior to this. Great songwriting and guitar. Cello on dumb 🔥🔥🔥. Bass too is so good. Polly is fine. Nothing special. I feel similarly about on a plain, but I’d say the songwriting is really good. Woah I like something in the way a lot. Again the cello is so cool. Plateau was pretty cool. Not much more to say than that. I like oh me better. Good songwriting, good guitar which is a theme throughout. Lake of fire is another really good song. All apologies is one of the best nirvana songs without a doubt and I can’t believe they did this live. Sounds better than the real album version. Cello again is sweet. And I like where did you sleep as a closet. This is a really good album, and the story behind it adds to it as well. Will listen again. 3.9 stars.

Own this album and have listened a handful of times. Starts kind of dark with “once”. Love the initial build up. Great guitar. Not the best in the album but it’s a good song. Even flow is so good. One of the goat rock songs. Guitar riff is so good, lyrics/flow so catchy. Insane guitar solo. Followed by alive which again is so good. What a chorus. How can you not love the message of this song too. Never heard why go before today, but it’s another banger. Surprised it doesn’t have more radio play. Fade into black was very cool. Such an underrated thing in a good cohesive album. Black is another classic. What a guitar. Simple but so good. And the songwriting is great too. Back half guitar is not at all simple and still so good. Piano is a great addition. Maybe a perfect song. Into Jeremy which is another all time classic. So much emotion. Again so many layers that work so good together. Oceans is kind of forgettable. Good not great song. Nothing special. Porch I like a lot more. I like the guitar solo in the middle a lot. Multiple levels of guitars going on. Garden is good not great. Catchy chorus, good guitar. The solos throughout the album are just so good. Deep is really good too. It’s more of the same but in the best way. The sounds they get out of these guitars is insane. Ending is so cool. And then the fade into release to close it out. Opening harmony with the guitar is a great sound. This song makes you feel something. Songwriting is so good. Another one that I can’t believe didn’t have more radio play. And then the switch up in the middle. Just a great way to close this album out. It’s not perfect but it’s damn close to it. Listen to this album asap if you have not already. 4.6 stars.

In a bad mood listening to this so keep that in mind. I love an intro like that. Save the life is super interesting. Music is really good but the production is just eh. America is a full on production. Good song. Not really a fan of overs. Just an OK song. Voices of old people is apt. Really unique album. Old friends is really talking to me for some reason. The strings in the back are really good. 2 part bookends theme🔥🔥. Shit like that is what makes a perfect/cohesive album as opposed to feeling like 10/15 songs thrown together. Then the guitar on fakin it. Good song. Pinky’s dilemma is kind of goofy. Not my favorite. Good bass line. Mrs Robinson is an absolute banger. All time classic. Hazy shade of winter is so good too. What a guitar. Great lyrics too. I wish that was the last song, would’ve been a great closer. At the zoo is fine but not the best. Overall it was a good not great album. I like the composition of it a lot, songs are just a bit dated. 3.3 stars.

I had a long review, then got pulled into meetings and it disappeared. I love this album. It has all time classics (you’re my best friend and bohemian rhapsody) deep cut bangers (death on two legs and prophets song) classic 80s rock songs (I’m in love with my car and 39) and some great bridge songs/fades in and out from one song to the next. You only ever hear about Freddie mercury, but damn do the guitars shred on this album. Will get you in a good mood. A great album that I will listen to again and I suggest you do too. 4 stars.

Have heard of rush but never this album. Cool first minute turns into what I would consider the classic rush sound. Great guitar and drums. With that being said it definitely different compared to anything I’ve listened to prior. Good songwriting in the 5 min segment. After 7 mins should just be a new song but that’s ok because I like the sound. 19 mins of good music to open this album. Not life changing but good nonetheless. Crazy guitar at 11 mins on. Great switch in tempo. Just keeps getting better as it goes. Passage to Bangkok is very well written. Good guitar solo too. Twilight zone is more of the same. Good rock song. Best part is the guitar. Lessons was kind of forgettable. Nothing special. Back on track with tears. This is a full on ballad. Great song. Something for nothing is another banger. Great guitar as is the theme through out. Good lyrics/vocals again in this one. I enjoyed this album, just some good classic rock. 3.5 stars.

Heard of The Beach Boys, don’t know if I could name a song. Don’t think they make the type of music I like. Don’t go near the water is a fun song, very well written. Really good production on long promised Road. The solo in the back half is really cool. Take a load is goofy and dated. But with that being said it is musically impressive. So far, not what I was expecting when I saw the Beach boys. Disney girls was more what I was expecting. Not my style, but not horrible. Good lyrics and harmonies. Student demonstration time is awesome. So many cool sounds going on. Again not what I was expecting from The Beach Boys. A classic rock song. Not a complicated song, but sometimes simple is better. Fuel flows is saved by the guitar/flute solo. Other than that pretty average song. Looking at tomorrow was pretty average as well. Nothing really stood out about it. Life of a tree is really cool. Good use of the flute again. Great song writing. Really emotional. Not a fan of til I die. Just too much going on. Not very catchy. Surfs up is really well written. First 2 mins is what I would expect felt beach boys, very poppy. Cool switch up in the middle. Good piano. Good closer to the album. Very fun overall. 3.5 stars

Heard of Neil young but never heard of the album. My my hey hey is pretty good. Well written, good guitar riff. Good song writing in thrasher, music is nothing special. I like ride my llama more. Good guitar. Pocahontas is fine. Well written again. Not much uniqueness so far. Sail away is pretty good. Cool harmonies I guess. Harmonica/guitar solo is really good. A lot of layers of music that work really well together. Woah powderfinger is different. I like what’s going on here. Good first and background vocals give this a good sound. Good guitar solo in the back half. I like welfare mothers too. The electric guitar is much needed. Good songwriting as is the theme through out. Sedan delivery is fun too. Nothing really special but fun song. Electric hey hey my my is so much better. The first half acoustic back half electric is really cool and adds points for creativity. Good not great album. 3 stars.

Never heard of album or band. First song has good background track but not a fan of the vocals. Looking like another generic Indie album. Drums are not good. Almeda has a cool guitar solo but other than that forgettable song. Ballad of big nothing is goofy and generic. Between the bars is at least a change of pace, but still whiny and not my style. Postures of me has some Beatles vibes, but it’s 30 years after the Beatles. It’s dated and just an average song. No name no 5 is more of the same. I at least like the guitar on rose parade. More whiny/quiet vocals. Not a fan of Punch and Judy. Begging for more variety. Angeles is eh. Cupids trick is better. Finally not just a slow whiny song. I keep listening eclectic a great song to come up. It’s not gonna happen. 245 is well written but more of the same. If there wasn’t only one song left I’d bail out here. Say yes is well written too but again sounds like the exact same song as the other 13. Overall Extremly basic album. Don’t waste your time, you absolutely do not need to hear this before you die. 1.4 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Intro is interesting. Pretty unique sound. Good background track. Great guitar solo in the back half. Caught by the fuzz is fine. Just an average rock song. Mansize rooster is a super fun song, followed by alright which is an absolute banger. Heard it before but even better in the midst of the album. Sour catchy chorus and great guitar. Lose it is pretty catchy as well. Not a ton of substance to these song but they’re catchy and the background music is good. I like strange ones a lot too. Great songwriting and music combo. Just a good song. Sitting up straight is generic. Not bad not good. Will never listen again. Similar with she’s so loose. Well written. Pretty catchy but not the bets of all time. Almost immediately skipped we’re not supposed to. That first 15 seconds is horrible on the ears. Goofy/bullshit song. Can appreciate the switch up in sound. Time couldn’t be any more different. I like this one. Really cool harmonica. Sofa is a good song too. Last half musical solo is really really good. With a really good fade into time to go which is so apt as a finishing song. This is how all albums should be put together. It’s not the best songs of all time but it tells a story. Worth the listen. 3.4 stars.

I think this is the first album by a woman in weeks? Months? Thank god it’s not another indie alt rock album. Guitar is so good on move over, especially how it works with the organ. Not the most catchy but good song. Really good musically and Janis has pipes. Cry baby is a lot slower. Not my fave but I will say it’s ahead of its time. Sounds like a paranore song kind of. Good piano and well written. A woman left lonely is really good. Absolute ballad. Great vocals and great background track. Half moon is more of the same in a great way. That piano towards the end is so good. And janis Joplin ca flat out sing. Hard to have a bad song with vocals that good. Throw anything simple behind it. Buried alove is super interesting. The music is good not great but the story behind the song is really cool. Wont affect my rankings but cool either way. RIP Janis. Back on track with my baby. Another good song. The way the work the piano organ and guitar is like I’ve never heard before. Me and Bobby McGee is so well written. Love the switch up to primarily acoustic. Best song on the album. Very catchy. End to end banger too, solo at the end is great. Mercedes Benz is on the same plain as “blues”. It’s not a song I’m going to add to the playlist but the significance and where it is in the album is perfect. It’s very well written too. Trust me is good as well. I really like this album. There’s a lot of song that sound kind of similar, but then some so different which is how an album should be comprised. I don’t want to hear the same sound over and over again, you will not on this album. And it closes with get it while you can which is just more of the same. Great album 4/5

Never heard of album or band. Looked up on Wikipedia and have low expectations. First song is pretty cool I guess. Very 90s. Cool sounds. 5/4 is a good song too, already this is beating my expectations. So many layers of sound working well together. Rock songs on rap beats. I like that. Production on tomorrow is so good. Piano and harmonica are awesome. Not really a fan of new genius. Just an ok song. I’ve heard Clint Eastwood. This is a banger of a song. Great production, great songwriting. Man research is a cool sound. Not the best song overall tho. Not a fan of punk. The clapping is so goofy and uneccasary. Gravity is really well produced. Great bass line. Lyrics are eh. Double bass was interesting. Not the best or worst. Rock the house is really fun. Production with the horns and flute is so good again. This one is really well written too. Hate 19-2000. Production isn’t bad the lyrics just aren’t good. Spanish switch up is crazy. Hate the guitar on this one but rest of it is good. Guitar is a lot better in strarshine. This one is interesting. It’s a catchy beat but lyrics kinda bullshit. Slow country is fine. Don’t have much more to say than that. Doesn’t blow me away. I like the piano tho. First minute 45 of M1A1 feels unnecessary. But I like the back half of it. Jamaican Clint Eastwood is kinda sick. I think I like the reg one better but this one is good too. 19-2000 remix is way better than OG. As a whole this album was way better than expected. It’s a fun listen but not life changing. 3.1 stars.

Had a long review that was lost after I put my phone down for a bit to work. I was Extremly pleasantly surprised with this album. The first 5 songs fading in and out of each other is something I think all albums should have. Middle is eh, but le feel internacionale is a great song. Every single song in the back half of this album is really good and none really sound the same other than vocals. Some live songs, some straight rock anthems. Either way they’re good. The horns and unique sounds used throughout are very cool. I’m so proud is also an incredible song. And then ending it out with just one victory which is very 70s but still so fun. The songwriting is great. Just a really fun album all around. 3.7 stars.

Listened while shoveling so a bit of a concise review. Opens with a classic in tiny dancer, song you still hear today. Levon and madman across the water are classic Elton John songs, very good. Incredible production, great use of modern and classic instruments. Piano throughout the album is so good. Indiana unsent tells a great story, also has country vibes. Good not great song. Holiday inn is a little goofy but shows good range. And again good production. Rotten peaches is forgettable but leads into 2 really good songs In all the nasties and goodbye. Good bye is exactly what you want in the last song of an album. Over I thought this was really good. Not Elton’s best but a great album. 3.7 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Highway star is very classic rock. Pretty good not great. Back had solo is really good. Guitar on Leo is really good again. Nothing special other than that. These songs are carried by the guitar. Generic rock vocals. So many bands wanted to be the Beatles in the early 70s. Songwriting is pretty good on pictures of home. Never before is pretty cool. None of these songs are bad, they’re just generic 70s rock songs. Cool keyboard/guitar solo on never before. And then you get to smoke on the water. What a guitar riff. All time classic. Simple but so good. Guitar at the beginning of lazy is really cool. Harmonica too is good. This is a great sign front to back. And space truckin is pretty cool but not amazing. Overall average to good album. Pretty generic but not necessarily in a bad way. 2.7 stars.

Heard of the group but never listened to the album. Right off the bat I can tell I’m gonna like it. As is 90% of this list it seems, it was realeased between 70 and 80 but it’s such a different sound. Great production, great vocals on shining star. Keys are so good. Way of the world is good not great. I like the harmonies a lot. Just a little basic. Happy feelin is really fun. Apt name. Good production and good lyrics. Live the horns. And the xylophone too. Really unique. Slowing it down for all about love. Definitely a love song. Not my style but good production again. Ending is really cool. Not sure how they made those sounds. Yearnin learnin is a really good song. Really fun production, good lyrics. Pretty catchy too. And then back to pretty slow with reasons. I like how it’s jumping back and forth between fun and emotional. Africano is really cool too. Again super unique sounds. Not often do I like a song with no lyrics but this one does it. See the light is fun. More of the same. Good production good vocals. Overall this album is a breath of fresh air. Worth a listen for sure. 3.3 stars

Never listened to a full def leopard album so excited for this one. Rock!rock! Is really fun. Well written and great guitar which I’m thinking will be a theme. Chorus is catchy too. Great fade into photograph. This is an all timer of a song. Probably heard 1000 times growing up. Very catchy. Stage fright is another banger. Just great music. Then slowing it down with too late for love. Harmony part at the beginning is really cool. Guitar solo is awesome. Multiple layers an good drums. Die hard the Hunter has the best solo but other than that good not great song. Foolin is really well written. All of the choruses are very catchy. Another great guitar solo. Rock of ages is another classic. A little bit of a simple song but just a well made rock song. Coming under fire and action before word are good not great. Kind of forgettable. Classic 80s rock songs. Billys got a gym is really good. Can feel the emotion. Great guitar. Love the story telling. Great way to end this album. Lives up to the hype, and will listen to again. 4.1 stars.

Never heard of album or singer. Starts off so good. Gloria is a great song all around. It’s a roc track with very unique vocals. I enjoyed it a lot. Rendondo beach is good not great. Good songwriting. Not as much of a fan of bird land but I appreciate the change of pace. Patti has a great voice. Good piano on this one. It just keeps going. And keeps getting better. Piano is so good on free money again. Love how it starts slow and turns into a real rock banger. Really like this song. Kimberly is a little goofy but not horrible. I like the organ and bass. Break it up is fine. A lot of the same good elements from the rest of the album, this one just doesn’t hit as hard for some reason. I will say I think it has the best guitar on any song. Land is a banger. What a background track. Vocals work so well over it. Élégie is ok. Good change of pace from land for sure but not my fave. It’s a good album overall and blew away my expectations. 3.9 stars.

Heard of the doors but never this album. Opening background track is really good. So many layers working well together. Doesn’t even need lyrics. Guitar and piano working together on the solo 🔥. Waiting for the sun is pretty cool. Lyrics aren’t the best but the sounds are really cool again. You make me real was good not great. Nothing life changing. Peace frog is much better. This one is really fun. Good songwriting and really good background track. Love the change of pace on blue Sunday. Bass line carries. Lyrics aren’t really good as well. Ship of fools is very unique. Not the best but u can appreciate the range. Not completely sure abt the sailor theme in the back half. It’s not bad just a little goofy. Still really good background music. It’s growing on me as I keep listening. Piano on spy is so good. I like this song a lot. It’s another really good change of pace. Queen of the highway is good not great just doesn’t hit as hard as some of the others for whatever reason. Guitar is really good tho. Maggie Mgill is really good. Really catchy lyrics, good bass line and good guitar. Another song with so many layers working well together. I love how it fades out, and I didnt want this album to end. Both good signs. 3.7 stars.

Never heard of album or singer. Based on the timing of the release I have pretty low expectations. I love your lovin is very 60. Kind of catchy. Cool piano. Definitely dated. Woah was not expectingthe jay z story of OJ sample in the second song. The production is so good just like the Jay version. Lyrics not as good. Great song either way. What more can I say I super emotional. What an ensemble of intsruments. Another really well made song. Super interesting album because it’s not at all my style but I enjoy it a lot. Not at all what I was expecting. Lilac wine is another emotional song that works. Breakdown and let it all out is much happier while still being emotional. Songwriting on This one is the best so far. Wild is the wind🔥🔥🔥. Another one still being sampled to this day. Piano is so good. Lyrics are so good. This one is 100% better than the logic song that samples it. If I should lose you sounds ahead of its time. Love the piano solo at the end. Production again o either way I lose is so good. It’s not the best song on the album but it’s still a good song. This album was way better than expected. I can fully understand the influence, it’s a sound so different from everything else around this time. 4 stars.

Never heard of album or band, low expectations considering this came out when I was alive and I still have heard of it. Flight tests is weird. Honestly exactly what I was expecting in the worst way. Goofy. Songwriting isn’t bad at least. “Futuristic” sounds that don’t really work. I do really like how one song fades into the next. Not really sure what to say abt one more robot. I don’t hate it but I also think there’s wya too much going on. Over produced. Yoshimi one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard. Not gonna spend any more time on that. This album would be really cool if it was released 30 years earlier. It’s generic y2k alt pop slop. Part 2 sucks as well, way too much going on. While also nothing going on. Goofy sounds thrown together in an unorganized way. In the morning is fine. More alt pop bs. Not my style. Kids In my middle school were making the beats on this album on I music at 12 yo. Bass line on egotrip is good, everything else is more of the same. Hypnotist has goofy ass lyrics. Production is better but there’s still elements that add absolutely nothing. I actually don’t mind summertime. By far the best on the album. Not sure what to make of do you realize. First 45 seconds is kinda catchy. From there it’s more over produced bullshit. Who is this album for. Why is it on this list. I don’t like all we have is now either. It’s more of the same. My problem with these alt albums is they all sounds the same;slightly whiny with way too much production behind it. Birds (the animal) should have a feature on half these songs which is ridiculous considering they add nothing except annoyance. Last song isn’t bad. Lack of lyrics actually adds to it. Makes it seem less overproduced even tho it still is. All in all this album is mid to trash. It’s not for me. I don’t get how it ended up on this list considering there’s 100s of albums that sound just like it. .5 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Not really sure what to expect. Bury me deep is very poppy. Catchy chorus. Good not great song. Vocals/lyrics are good. Kelly’s blues is much more of a classic rock song. I like it better than the first. Great piano too. A trick of the light is kind of a mix of both. Really good writing in this one. Tells a good story. Fun song. Hometown farewell is fine, a little bit over produced. Some elements that just didn’t need to be added but overall not a bad song. Definitely very 80s. Unmade love is back to heavy rock. The organ is really cool. Good drums too. Vocals kinda bullshit. I don’t like open for you but I like how this album has a theme, goes from pop to rock and back again. And the songwriting is good, it’s just dated. Too many bells on holy water. This is a fun song but a lot going on again. Would’ve been fine with generic instruments and piano. I guess I kind of get the church bells considering the name I just don’t like them. Blinder by the hour sounds like a queen song, I like this one a lot. Really catchy. I like the musical solo in the back half too. Back to more of a rock vibe with vagabond holes. Cool name, and more importantly a good song. Guitar on this one is really good. Jerdacuttup man is another good story telling song, not my style tho. Very pirate-y. Doesn’t fit the rest of the album but good range. Calenture is super interesting. I like the piano a whole lot. Felt like it should’ve been an interlude into the next song but I don’t think it is. Again feels a little out of place but I’m realizing that that is just this album. Save what you can is back to the poppy style. The story telling on all of the songs is good but doesn’t seem to be much cohesion in the stories. More of the same on can I walk you home. Good background track on this one. Last 45 seconds is really fun. Region unknown isn’t my favorite. I like the guitar/bass combo tho. Lyrics just not hitting as hard. Bass line on love the fever is so sick. Mixed with the piano and guitar too. This is a great song. Bad news is forgettable. Pretty generic 80s pop/rock song. Song writing on “everything” is really good. I like the guitar too. This is a fun song. Good closer. This album as a whole exceeded expectations. It’s fun and unique. 3.4 stars.

Heard of D’Angelo but never listened to an album. Brown sugar is pretty good. Catchy chorus. Good production. Very mid 90s. Alright was fine. Very forgettable. O thing special or unique to it. Production on jonz in my bonz is a lot better. Songwriting is lacking. There’s barely anything going on with the last two songs aside from the production. Too much auto tune too. Much better songwriting on me and those dreamy eyes. This is a good song. Production on shit damn is really good too. Rest of it is eh. Smooth is the opposite. Good writing but not as big of a fan of the production. Good piano tho. Cruisin is really good. Good vocals/lyrics and really good production. This is a banger. Chorus is going to be stuck in my head. Piano in all these songs is so good. When we get by is another really good song. Horns and drums with the piano are elite. Good songwriting again. Trumpet solo towards the end🔥🔥. First half of lady isn’t my favorite, second half is much better. Really good production. An again great production on higher. So soulful. Great way to end the album. Very 90s but I like it. Overall good not great album. Some really good songs but also some really forgettable. Overall, 3.3 stars.

Pretty sure my grandma loves Simon and Garfunkel. I’m sure I’ve heard songs but never a whole album. First 2 mins of trouble watered is quiet and not that good. Songwriting is pretty good. When it starts to pick up in the middle it really oicks up. Good piano and accompaniments. Not really a fan of el condor pasa. It’s very dated. Not a lot going on with it. Cool flutes I guess. Cecelia is a banger. All time classic. So fun, so catchy. Great production. Customer is really fun too. Def not as catchy but a fun song. Ahead of its time. Last 2 songs were so much better than the first 2. Frank lloyd wright is closer to the first 2 unfortunately. Again cool flute I guess. I like the drums too. Lyrics bullshit and not catchy. The boxer is pretty good. Definitely more catchy. Still not that much substance. I guess it’s kind of telling a story but it takes too long to get to that point imo. Baby driver is really goofy and dated but it well written and well produced. It’s a fun song. Needed this one. Only living boy is fine. Pretty forgettable. Nothing to write home about. Why don’t you write me is a lot better. Maybe the best written song in the album. Bye bye love is another classic. Love the live version. Guitar is so good. Song for the asking is another pretty forgettable song. Would’ve liked a better closer. Overall it was an up and down Blum, pretty average in all honesty. 2.5 stars.

Second dusty album is crazy but I liked the first one so let’s see abt this one. Mama said is a banger. It’s classic dusty. Great songwriting. And then followed by you don’t owe me wow. How did I never hear of dusty before this list. Absolute banger. I wish it was longer. Do re mi is really fun. Really catchy too. Love the horns. Through his eyes is good not great. Very well written but kind of forgettable. I like the horns. Good change of pace on colouring book. Great story telling too. Ahead of its time. Mockingbird is fine, not my favorite mockingbird song but not bad. Tulsa is forgettable. Nothing is another banger. Super catchy. Great production. Anyone who had a heart is so well written again. Love the harmonies on the chorus too. Background track is just OK. Will you love me is not like that, great background track. Good vocals/lyrics. Dusty was the og pop star. Wishing and hopin is another banger. No notes. Love the horn/piano solo on don’t you know. Rest of it is good not great. I only want to be with you is another all time classic. The songwriting is so good. Very catchy. It’s very 70s but holds up.hes got something is more of the same in a good way. Dont like every day I hav to cry as much but its still a good song. Can I get a witness is so good too. I like I wish I’d never loved you a lot. Great horns. Great lyrics as always with dusty. Once upon a time is another classic. It’s dated but a great song. Great closer in summer is over. Apt name. Really good song. I love this album. Where has dusty been all my life, 2 certified classic albums. 4.2 stars.

Finally an album from my prime. Love Kendrick, but this is my least favorite of his albums aside from the most recent one. Admittedly haven’t listened all the way through since around when it came out so def room for improvement. Slow fade in for Wesley’s theory is how every album should start. Sample on this song is really cool. Really good production. The bass line is really weird tho. Don’t think I like it. As is with every Kendrick song, it’s Extremly well written. Love the music on for free. Greta piano, great horns. Lyrics are eh, the hook is dumb. King kunta is one of the best songs of the 2010s. So catchy. Incredible production. Could listen 1000 times in a row and not get sick of it. And then Great fade into institutionalized. I hate the weird voice Kendrick randomly uses. I wish he would just rap normal on all of his songs, they’re always so much better when he does. Production is really good again tho. Once he stops using the dumb voice at abt a minute it’s a really good song. These walls is another banger. This is just a classic Kendrick song. Love the guitar on it. Chorus is super catchy. I don’t like “u”. It’s over produced and he’s doing the dumb voice again. Mid song. It just never picks up when it seems like it wants to the whole time. Followed by alright which is the complete opposite. Great song end to end, all components. No notes. Love the production on the for sale interlude. Good lyrics to. This song is really good too. Verses and production on momma are really good, if it had a catchy chorus it would be a great song but it doesn’t. Good not great. Hood politics is a banger. What a beat. This is the closest to a GKMC song so far. Classic Kendrick. How much a dollar cost is not as good but still a good song. Best writing of any song I’d say. Love the story telling, that’s when kdot is at his best. Complexion is fine, nothing special. I like the piano. I like rapsodys verse. Blacker the berry is the most underrated song on the album. Should have the commercial play of alright or king kunta but it doesn’t for some reason. Production is sososo good. Lyrics too as always. You ain’t gotta lie is fine, again nothing special. I like how this one at least has a real chorus. “I” is another classic. Production is the best in any song of the album. This song will last the test of time. Wis it ended with this one. With that being said I am a sucker for a 10+ min outro so can’t really complain. The super long songs are my favorite on all 3 of his other albums, this one is not as good as those 3 (sing about me, fear, mother I sober) but it another really good long songs doesn’t feel like 11 mins at all. He just goes and goes and goes, these songs are always the best written. Wish the beat kept going in the middle poem section, could’ve made it real quiet and I think it would’ve added a lot, as seen by when they come back in with the piano and it adds a good bit . Really good message. As a whole, my opinion on the album hasn’t changed much which I’m honestly shocked abt. I still don’t think it’s one of his three best albums. There are some really good songs, but also some songs I’ll never listen to again which I would not say abt any of his other albums. This album is more abt the message than the music IMO. But I’m rating purely off music. 3.4 stars.

Heard of steely dan but never a whole album. Starts of super interesting. The way the use the piano drums and guitar together is really cool. Song writing is good not great. Really good guitar solo. Song writing is really good on razor boy. Again really good piano. Boston rag is really good. Great mix of story telling and background music. Fave so far. Guitar solo is again so good. Your gold teeth is another awesome song. You could put any lyrics over this production and it would work. Show biz kids is more of the same, another banger. Catchiest one so far. Harmonica 🔥🔥. I don’t like my old school as much as the rest but it’s still a really fun song. Pearl of the quarter is similar. Nothing life changing, but fun song. Right off the bat I like king of the world better. That background guitar is so good. Synth solo is soso cool. And then the regular piano comes back in. Song writing is soo good too. I had only heard good things abt steely dan, and I was still pleasantly surprised. Really good album. 4.1 stars.

Had a long drawn out review but then got distracted by work and lost it. Not starting from scratch. This album is better than what I was expecting. Only ever heard good things about sound garden and I understand why. Guitar and drums carry through out. Good not great songwriting. Nothing life changing, but really solid album. A little too prestige, but it does have some good changes of pace. Good title track which is a plus. Overall probably won’t listen to agin but not upset that I did. 3.3 stars.

Never heard of album or band. 20 seconds in and I can tell it’s my type of music. P funk is so funky. What a collection of sounds. Pretty Catchy too. Mothership is good not great. Very groovy. Really good production. Lyrics are fine. Clocked the regulators sample right away. Good chorus. Un funky ufo is absolutely funky. More of the same. Great horns. Greta production. It feels like all of the songs work together which I like. Supergroovalistic has just a little too much going on for me. Definitely ahead of its time. I like handcuffs better. This one is pretty catchy. Production is good as always. Kind of feels different from the rest in a good way. Give up the funk is an all timer. The production, the lyrics, the harmonies it’s perfect. This song will never die. Wish it ended with this one. Thumpasorous is just ok. Overall I like the album. Very different than most of what I’ve heard so far. ALS still being played today. 3.4 stars.

I didn’t get the hype behind this album/eminem in general until around this time LY. Then it hit me. Heard 100+ times this year, but let’s go again. Love the start, the skits/interludes are so good throughout (except Ken kaniff). Right into kill you, love the Dre production. Extremly well written as is the Eminem way. It’s not the best or worst on the album, but it’s really good. As much as I love stan the song, it feels a little out of place in the album and that is my man complaint with the whole thing. It’s an all time classic, maybe the most recognizable em song. I get it after “kill you” but I think both should be later in the album or put it first, with Jill you right after, then into who knew . With that being said, Stan has one of the best samples of all time and top to bottom is a great song. Love how the Paul/steve berman skits keep coming up throughout the next few albums. I’m a sucker for cohesion like that. Who knew is another banger. Again the beat/production is so good. Every song seems like it was produced and written at the same time, they all work so well. Very catchy chorus. The way I am is all about the lyrics. Beat is so cool too, but a little simple. The way he can tell a story/Talk about his life in rhymes like this is unmatched. And another super catchy chorus. Love the bells. And I love how you can feel the raw anger all the way through. Fade into real slim shady🔥🔥. It’s not the best song on this album, but it probably is the most recognizable. Beat is so sick. This song reminds me of watching vh1 music videos during summer break. Really awesome music video, haven’t seen it in 15 years at least and I think I know every scene. Chorus is the best, overall song is middle of the pack compared to the rest of the album. Remember me is just Ok, but the lead into I’m back turns it into a much needed add in this spot. Beat is really cool, lyrics are goofy. I’m back is so good. Great lyrics, great production. Great middle of the album song. I want to like Marshall Mathers more but I think it’s jus ok. I like the chorus, verses don’t hit so hard. Still a good song, just not as good as the song prior. Ken kaniff skit sucks. I skip everytime. Drug ballad rocks. No notes, I love this song. Beat is pretty simple but works so well. Amityville too is just straight 🔥🔥. The back half of the album is banger after banger. Snoops verse on both please is so good. The beat is so good. And xzibit from limp my ride? Yup. Another fantastic song. Kim is pretty good, I like the raw emotion and story telling. Beat is just OK. This should’ve been the last song under the influence is a good song but feels out of place. Should’ve been around drug ballad. Even though I think that Kim should be the last song, I still believe that criminal is a great choice to end it as well. I think I just would’ve liked Kim More. With that being said criminal ties everything up and sticks to the theme. It’s a great closing song. It’s also a great song on its own. Overall, I love this album and everyone needs to hear it. It’s not perfect but it’s damn close. Top 20 album I’ve ever heard, pushing top 10. 4.6 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Low expectations. First song is fine. The sound mixing is bad. Vocals way too low. Cool guitar tho. The one part repeating over and over again for the last minute plus doesn’t hit at all. Background track on the whole world is really good. Sound mixing again sucks. Goofy vocals. Songwriting is pretty good it’s just the sound engineering that makes it sound bad. I like the piano a lot on this one. I hate the repeating of nding again. Just end the song if you have nothing else to add. Look at last nite Is very Beatles wannabe. Good guitar, good harmonies just unoriginal. Honestly it’s def the best song so far. Won’t let it happen is good not great. Need more guitar solo. Lyrics are trash. Move over is more of the same. I like the guitar. Lack of substance to the lyrics. Gudbuy tjane is dated. Icky feeling when they Talk abt her being so young. Best story telling in this one. Background track is very 70s. Wha are these ridiculous clapping sounds on gudbuy. This production sucks. Guitar is by far the best part of this band, rest of it is so generic and forgettable. Hate the production aside form guitar again on mama wear. This band really likes repeating the same shit over and over and over again. This band is Walmart AC/DC. These song would be so much better if it was normal vocals, a guitar drums and some keys. That’s it. But it’s not. First minute of I don’t mind is exactly what I was asking for. This is a good rock song. Good times roll is fine, but not even the best song using the chorus. It’s way dated, and overproduced as is a lot of the rest of the album. This is a solid 2/5. A couple “good” songs and then 6-8 songs that sound exactly the same. Don’t waste your time.

Never heard of album or group. First song is cool, well produced. Didn’t really need any vocals, they’re just OK. It definitely makes you want to dance. Really cool bass line on lose control. Very dancy again which I assume will be the theme through out. Trumpet is really cool too. Not a a fan of soft machine. Choppy and bullshit lyrics. Very Y2K. Hate the lyrics on hyponotise but I like the beat/production a lot. Same deal with hey you what’s that sound. Sounds like a kidz bop song lyrics wise, sick beat. Take a little time is very 80s. Definitely still dancy but different vibes from the rest. I hate disco II disco. Something abt that sound gives me a headache. Don’t like the cowbell. Had to skip it doesn’t worn through headphones. Brothers is a lot more palatable. Can’t believe how much disco turns me off of this album. It’s like when you go to hipotle and halfway through you realize there’s a whole bay leaf in your bowl. Doesn’t completely ruin it, but it immediately disqualifies it from being a good bowl. Mdc verendi is pretty good. Classic dance song I’d say. Same thing with Jacques. I like them a lot more when there’s not a lot of vocals. The production is really good. About funk is really cool and I love the ending into the beginning of sometimes. Tho is the best one with lyrics for sure. Damaged people is good not great too long. Good production, ok vocals. Overall that’s the theme of the album. It was just ok. 2.1 stars.

Lost my long review. Not a fan. Can never actually hear what the singer is saying. Guitar is really good, one shining star. No one song that stands out as really good. Hate some of the random scratchiness, ie on long stockings. Nothing to make it stand out from any other album. A lot of the songs have cool beginnings but never turn into anything. Just don’t really have mic more to say than that. 1.8 stars.

Love this album. Haven’t listened in a while. Guitar intro on I ain’t the one is so good. The song writing and vocals are so good all the way through. Really cool keys too. Tuesday gone is an all timer. That guitar riff is so good. Super catchy. Awesome piano solo in the middle. Gimme three steps is another banger. Not as much commercial success as some of the others on the album, but just as good/catchy. Love simple man. 0 notes. One of the best songs I will ever listen to. It just hits. You want to sing every word. Things going on isn’t the best on the album but it’s another great song. Incredible piano. Vocals/guitar fire as always. Underrated guitar solo. Mississippi kid is such a good change of pace. All of the same great elements of the rest of the album but slowwwwed down. Love the guitar/bass combo. Harmonica solo🔥🔥. Poison whiskey is forgettable but you need a song like that to lead into free bird. What a way to end an album. This is a perfect song. Every single version you listen to, you never want it to end. Greatest guitar solo of all time. No other notes needed. I love this album. I honestly think it’s one of the best of all time. I could listen to it over and over again, and probably will for the next few weeks. It’s close to perfect, but I know there’s better out there so I can’t give it a 5/5. 4.8 stars.

Heard of fat boy slim but never listened. Not sure what to expect. This initial production is really cool. Exactly how an album should open. I’ve definitely heard this song before. This beat is so good. The Rockefeller skank is an all time classic. Remember hearing this when I was very young and loving it. Super cool fade in too. Just so catchy. In heaven is ok, definitely not as good as the first 2 but hard to live up to that. Love the horns on gangster tripping. I find myself bopping along to the whole thing. Build it up is forgettable. Just ok. I like kalifornia better. Feel like this album could be a lot better with real lyrics. Insane all of the different sounds that are put together to create great music. Really like soul surfing too. And has a beachy vibe, the name fits. You’re not from Brighton is fine, more of the same and nothing special. Praise you on the other hand is so good. Commercial song. Drums are so good. So is the bass line. Love island is somehow different but still the same. Really cool beat. And acid 8000 is pretty sweet too. This is definitely the best dance album I’ve heard on this list so far, I really enjoyed it and I am not a dance music fan. Like I said earlier, could’ve been even better with reply lyrics. Overall, really fun album. 3.5 stars.

Have obviously heard of Lennon, as well as the title track of this album. Never heard anything else from it tho as far as I know. Title track is a banger. All time classic. Great writing. Awesome but simple piano. Super catchy. Crippled inside is not as good but still really well written. Very 70s. Elton John vibes. Kanye/pusha sample on “jealous guy”. Like this version better tbh. What a song. He’s an outstanding song writer. A lot of variety on this album. It’s so hard is something like I’ve never heard before. Love the piano on I don’t wanna be. Really cool production all around. Not as catchy. Sax solo🔥🔥. This song musically is the best so far. Gimme some truth is more what I was expecting. Sounds like a Beatles song. Good not great. Oh my love is too slow for me but again shows the range. No one song sounds the same which I love. Production on how do you sleep is so good. Cool guitar riff, awesome strings. Songwriting good as always. How is fin. Nothing special. Oh took is really goofy. I get it’s supposed to be a “love” song but it doesn’t hold up. Don’t think it ruins the whole album tho. A lot of good elements, just goofy lyrics. Overall it’s a really fun album with a ton of range. Some absolute classics. 3.6 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Not sure what to expect. First song is jazz done by a white guy. Rock instruments just thrown together. Doesn’t work quite as well as normal jazz but not horrible. Very experimental. Guitar riff at 7:50 is really good. Wish there was more of that. I can’t believe how long it is. 13 mins rocks. This is the best part so far. Final four minutes is fine. I’m realizing it’s super ate songs all in one 18 min song. Not a fan of Jeremy bender. Too goofy. Bitches crystal is definitely better, but I think just a little too much going on. Well written, too may instruments in the background. Sometimes less is more. This album is not less. The only way feels dark and scary. Lyrics are crazy. What an interesting addition. Infinite space is pretty good. I like the piano. Much simpler as a whole which I was looking for. A time and a place is really cool. A lot going on but works better in this one. Are you ready eddy is very 60s. Not a fan. Very different from the rest of the album. I hate that this is the last song. Bad after taste. Cool album cover has to be mentioned. Fine album. 2.4 stars.

I had never heard of this album or band. Lost my long review but that’s ok I’ll keep it short and sweet. The guitar is so good on every single song. By far the best element of the album. Stormy clouds is my favorite song, but there’s a handful of other good songs as well. Very 90s rock, but that’s not neccasarily a bad thing. Pleasantly surprised overall. 3.2 stars.

Never heard of album or band. Not sure what to expect, not usually a fan of electronic. First song blew me away. I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it. Great bass line. Production all around was so good. So audibly pleasing. Didn’t need any words. Sexy boy has great production again, not really a fan of the vocals. Beats are so good. All I need is better lyrics wise. Good guitar. Good change of pace from the first 2 songs. Subtle piano is fire. Lyrics are kinda bs on Kelly watch but the beat is so cool once again. Great music to listen to while working. Tailsman was cool, fun song not much more to say. I’m liking this style. You make it easy is fine. Very soft rock. Not really my style. Horns on ce matin are so good. Not as much of a fan of the harmonica. Strings are cool. Really cool bass line on new star in the sky. Good piano too. Lyrics are kind of unnecessary. Voyage de Penelope is super cool as well. I don’t know what some of these sounds are but they work. It’s so much slower than any electronic album I’ve ever heard. Blew away my expectations. Just a really nice listen. 3.7 stars.

Never heard of album or singer. I’ve liked the r&b albums so far so looking forward to this one. Cry to me is super old. Really simple. Well written. Production is good for 60s, mid for now. Just out of a reach is just a little too slow for me. I like the production a lot better in this o e. Goodbye baby is pretty catchy. Nothing too special. If you need me is cool too. Not a lot of range on this album so far. Great song writing on can’t nobody love you. Simple background track again. I like the harmony and guitar on someone to love. Good not great song. Won’t you give him didn’t last the test of time. Bad song. Hard is relatable and well written again. Good guitar. I like the chorus on can’t love em all a lot. Great piano/horns too. This is a good song. A lot of the songs kinda blend together. Not a great trait. He’ll have to go is fine. I think it works as a closer pretty well. Overall album is fine. Definitely dated. Enjoyed it, but won’t ever listen again. 2.6 stars.

The band the album cover and the album title give me low expectations. With that being said it looks like it’s electronic as opposed to “alt/indie” which is the vibes I got from the title and band. 5 seconds in and I hate it. Not made for headphones. Hurts my head. Will not be finishing if this is what it’s like all the way through. Sounds like a bad movie score. II is better because there’s at least some type of rythm. Still sucks tho. I made these beats on imusic by accident. 7 minute song with no lyrics is insane. Duke is a lot better (not). More of the same. Bulshit sounds. Don’t really work. Who published this. And then who agreed to waste even more money on a remaster. Beat that starts in the middle of flight bath I actually like. The original beat that plays throughout ruins it tho. Drum beat on planet d is cool. Everything else is unnecessary and waters it down. Beginning of Wilmot is unique in the sense that they used new instruments/slunds. But it’s more uncohesive bullshit. Back half is the same as every other song. Bass line is pretty good I will say. Can’t believe how long these songs are considering it’s the same riff over and over and over and over again. Every good element on any of these songs last for a bit then they go back to the dumbness. I like the guitar riff a lot on tow truck. I hate what’s in the background. Last minute and a half is cool. Theme is another movie score. It’s not bad but it’s the same thing where it’s one riff constantly repeating. Guitar is good. I have a meeting in 2 mins with 5 songs to go. I don’t think I’ll be picking it back up when I’m out of my meeting. This is up their for worst I’ve heard so far from this list. Especially when comparing the the electronic album I got LY that was only a few years older that I thought was wayyyyy better. Don’t waste your time. .5 stars for tryin.

Never heard of album or band. First song is weird. Kept expecting it to start but it’s just mic feedback the whole time. Didn’t feel like a real song. Hit by a rock is more of a song but still weird. Bullshit lyrics. Valley is a TikTok with no visuals. I have no clue what I’m listening to rn this is not music. Title track is actually a song which is cool. Again it just never picks up. 6 minutes of weirdness. Finally some lyrics on weeping. Terrible voice. Mid lyrics. One positive I will say is that it’s good music to work to. Not distracting in the least. Sounds like normal outdoor sounds. Again I asked who gave the green light on the remaster. Why do I kind of like AB/7A?? Again great work music. This one is really well produced. Sounds like a real song. I’m glad I didn’t bail out. Just because of this one song. Écoli is back to bullshit. Ready to be done again. Last 2 songs more of the same. Glad it’s over. The one song kept it from .5 for trying zone. 1.2 stars.

Heard of The Who. Never this album. Not sure which disc I’m supposed to listen to. Starting from the beginning. Armenian city in the sky is pretty cool. Well written. Good guitar. Heinz is super interesting. Really good horn and drums. Weird this early in the album. Mary Anne is pretty fun. Very 60s. Really good writing on ordorono. I like the radio hits from one song to the next to. Makes it feel like a real album. Tattoo and our love was are pretty forgettable. Classic rock songs. I can see for miles is a lot better. Awesome guitar. Great drums too. Really good keyboard and songwriting on I can’t reach you. Don’t really like medac. Dated. Relax is a lot better. Very fun song. Great guitar again. Love the solo. Don really like Silas stingy. Sunrise is fine. Good lyrics I guess. Nothing really special. Real is pretty cool. Really good drums. Flute is pretty cool add. Overall underwhelmed with this album. It was just OK. Pretty dated. No real bangers. 2.4 stars.

Obviously have heard of Sinatra. Never heard this album. Buttery smooth voice. Great songwriting on you make me feel so young. Good love song. Very 50s. Monterey is pretty good. Basically the same as the first song. Good orchestra in the background. I have a feeling that there won’t be much variety on this album. “Habit” is really fun and well written. Marvelous is pretty good too. The production and songwriting are top tier throughout. Just very dated. Old devil moon is pretty cool. Same with Pennie’s form heaven. Like I assumed, all song are pretty similar. Under my skin is fun. Catchy chorus. Super well written. All the songs are starting to blend together. Not the worst thing because it’s not a bad style of music. Wish anything goes was the last song. This one is really good. How about you is fine just doesn’t hit as hard. Overall pretty good album but nothing special. Not enough variety. Great singer/somgwriter tho. Solid 2.6 album.

Wonderful more electronic. Top 100 Apple Music album so I have higher hopes. Beat on mysterons is really cool, bs vocals. Beat and vocals are great on sour times. This is a really well made song. Love the guitar. Simple but works so well. Great bass line. Not a fan of the beginning of strangers but it picks up as the song goes on. I like the beat a lot, vocals never really get there. It could be sweet is pretty forgettable all around. However I do appreciate the change in pace. Production on wandering star is so sick. Good songwriting too. It’s a fire is pretty good too. The production is really good, vocals leave a little to be desired. That’s a common theme. Numb is cool. Interesting sounds but they mostly work. Good writing. Roads is very 90s. Good not great song. The horns with that beat on pedestal is sick. Great song. No joy is forgettable. Glory box is really really cool. Love the guitar. Great production as always. Better songwriting in this one. Better than my expectations. A lot of really well made songs. Good to great album. 3.4 stars.

Andddd another alt album nice (not). Low expectations based on band name/album cover. My favorite part about alt albums is that the sounds engineering is always horrible like it is on this one. Background track is way louder than vocals. Good guitarist. Good guitar on break my body as well. Still too loud. Bullshit vocals. I like something again until they start singing. I’m starting to realize the background tracks are so loud because these alt bands don’t have anyone who can sing well. They put on a goofy dumbass voice and call it alternative. Broken face is the best so far because it sounds like a normal song (aside from the chorus). Gigantic sucks. That’s all. The lyrics just aren’t good or catchy even tho they try really hard to get the bullshit stuck in your head. You can’t just say one word ten times and call it a chorus. Good guitarist solo. More inaudible nonsense to start off Euphrates. Glad they bring it back in after 1 verse (not). Really good guitar on where is my mind. Why a riff. I think I have maybe heard this song? Chorus and vocals are so underwhelming. That guitar is just so good. Drums are way too loud on cactus. More bullshit vocals on Tony’s theme. This song sucks again aside from the guitar. Same thing in golly. Guitar on vamos sounds impressive but idk how hard it is to do that. I like this one when there’s no singing. I’m amazed isn’t bad. I like how it only 2 mins long. I like brick is red as the closer because it’s encapsulated the theme of the album which is great guitar and pretty good drums followed by terrible vocals. If all songs had minimal vocals like this one it’d probably be in the 3/4 star range. But that’s not the case. 1.7 stars. Would’ve been .5 for trying without the guitarist. I feel bad for him he deserved better.
