This is one of my favorite albums! I remember hearing "Hot 'Lanta" for the first time and I was immediately taken aback by the musicianship of the group. It's still one of my faves by them! After hearing the live versions of their music, their studio albums just don't do it for me, haha.

Yep, that's a metal album alright.
1-Star Albums (4)
All Ratings
The songs felt all over the place, couldn't get into it.
A great listen, I also liked the Ska songs that were sprinkled throughout the album.
Super folky, thought he sounded like Woody Guthrie and then low and behold Guthrie makes an appearance on the album. Enjoyed the listen.
Not the genre that I usually go for, but I still enjoyed it.
The singer sounded a lot of Julian Casablancas and the music was moody all the way through.
Not my bread and butter, so it was a rough listen.
A good listen.
Not my cup of tea, but not so bad to listen to.
80s classic, some interesting stuff mixed in the middle of the album tho.
This was a fun western album that I really enjoyed listening to.
Black Sabbath on the softer side with a mix of their classic heavy riffs and rocking, enjoyed this one all the way through.
A classic
Interesting listen
The title is happy sad and it makes a lot of sense, some of the songs were pretty good, and then some were a little too long and slow. Overall, not too bad at times I felt like it could be a 4 but I've settled for a 3
I knew a lot of these songs and they're all pretty good, an easy listen.
My first time listening to Morrissey, and it was an interesting album that I thought had some good songs on it. There were a few where I also thought he's just saying things for a reaction but overall, not bad to listen to.
Was never a huge Bruce Springsteen fan, though I try to keep that to myself being that I'm from NJ, but the album had its classics that everyone knows and some other songs that were cool to hear for the first time as well.
A more obscure DB that I've ever encountered, but I was able to get through it. Not sure I would put this one on again though.
Not really my kinda music but didn't mind it so much.
I felt like this one was a cruel joke, I think it was a nearly 4hr album. After listening to the first 2 songs, I thought that surely it was almost over but that was just the tip of the iceberg. I did not listen to the whole album, so I feel bad giving it a 1 star, but that's what's happening.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time (FAOAT). It really encapsulates the west coast hippie movement sound IMO.
Good shtuff.
I was between a 4 and a 5 here, because I think the studio version of some of these songs sounds dull compared to when they are played live however, there is no live without the studio. Disraeli Gears is a classic for me and I gotta go 5 here.
I was a little surprised how much I enjoyed this album, it was a 3 that turned into a 4 for me.
Didn't dislike this, but at the same time nothing jumped out at me.
Not a huge fan of Billy Joel, but this album has a lot of good songs on it IMO.
Hmmm, interesting one. Between a 2 and a 3 but going to go with 2 because none of the songs really grabbed my attention.
Interesting listen, not too shabby.
I feel like this album is better than a lot of the 3s I've rated, but not as good as the 4s, I think that going forward I'll be more reluctant to just give a three out to an album that I didn't think was bad. 3 has reached a new standard.
Very punk, not as polished as their stuff after this though.
Not my cup of tea
This album made me realize how much I don't like hair bands, that being said it wasn't totally unbearable and I think that if I was into this kind of music then it wouldn't have been so bad.
Not my kinda music
Liked this one more than I thought I would.
Really enjoyed listening to this all the way through again.
Solid
Kinda glad this one was only 30 min. Something about it just didn't sit well with my ears.
I'm a huge fan of The Band and this one is a classic for me.
Felt like this one was between a 3 and a 4, but closer to 3 for me
Hmmmmm at first I thought this band sounded a little like Black Sabbath at but the more I listened the less true that became. A bit too out there for me I guess, but there were some parts of songs that I liked though they seemed to blend together at times.
I was in between a 2 and a 3 throughout the whole listen, I felt like some songs were 3s and others 2s. But because I had never heard of this band before and I was glad I listened to this one, I'll give it a 3.
Some very good and then very experimental songs on this album! I really enjoyed it from start to finish, besides the last 3 or so minutes of Liberation.
If this isn't the most Brit-Pop album I have ever listened to... At times they almost felt like a Beatles cover/parody band and then at other times they sounded like a the most British Pop group ever, I kind of enjoyed it though, kept me intrigued for the next song.
A very interesting, but cool listen for me
This album really caught me off guard. I had not heard of the Boo Radleys before and wasn't expecting much, but sure enough each song had me listening intently. Seems like they had a ton of influences since nearly every song was different than the next one. I'll definitely be giving this one another listen.
Probably my favorite CCR album.
I accidentally read reviews on this album before I listened to it, so my rating is a bit skewed, I think. I like the Beach Boys, and I liked the new versions of Heroes & Villains and Good Vibrations, but the stuff in between sounded like unfinished songs that were pieced together.
Some songs I liked, some songs I didn't, also some funny ones in there too.
This is the first time I listened to this album in its entirety and though I'm not a rap fan, I thought this album was very good.
Wanted to like this one more, but didn't!
The only other Wilco song I know is Jesus, Inc., which I like. This album was different than that song, but still enjoyable and something I'll give another listen to.
Some groovy songs in there, the first one being, perhaps, the grooviest.
A proper early 2000s Brit-Pop classic! Or maybe I should say, a classic Brit-Pop album... I can confidently say I don't remember a single song from the album, but a memory of how I felt when I listened to it. I never know if I like Brit-Pop or hate it, but I think the world is better for it being a thing.
For me, I think that was the longest 45 minutes I've ever lived. The scream to start the album was funny, there were some funny bits in the middle as well, and the last song was unique. I was surprised to find out this band put out 10 albums, this one kind of seemed like a couple of guys rented out a recording studio and riffed for a bit, then released it as an album. I'll give it a 2 because of how caught off guard I was when I started the album, and the guy started screaming in my ears for 30 seconds.
Wasn't expecting to find an album from the Pogues on this list, but I'm happy I did! I thoroughly enjoyed this album all the way through, even did a few hearty jigs along the way. The Dubliners collab, the Medley, and Fairytale of New York were my faves from this one.
didn't like this one as much as the other Beta Band album
hmmm, in between a 2 and 3 for me, but since there were some nice acoustic songs in there so I'll round up
The albums peaks with the first song, which makes the rest blend together for me.
Liked this one a lot.
Pretty good album, I liked her rock songs more than the other stuff she was playing though.
Love this one, a classic for me.
Thought this was a very good album with some interesting history to it as well.
I was between a 3 and a 4 here. I haven't listened to much Elvis Costello, but I found this album a fun one to listen to and enjoy.
This album had some really strong and classic songs on there that bring it up to a 4 for me.
I enjoyed this one, but no songs really popped out at me.
This one was out there! Reminded me of Pink Floyd's more experimental days in between the Syd Barret era and the Dark Side of the Moon album.
Not a bad song on here! Might be my favorite Neil Young album, maybe.
Iron Maiden has never been my thing, but I can appreciate what they were doing.
Acoustic Psychedelia! I'm giving this one a 3 because I am a big fan of Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd. My favorite song off of this album was and has been Octopus. I feel like he tried to achieve the similar results with the rest of the songs but wasn't able to find the magic and they ended up sounded jumbled up.
This one wasn't as good as I hoped it would be and a lot of the songs blended together.
A very chill album that was nice to listen to on a chill Friday.
I really enjoyed the first half of this album a lot but for whatever reason my interest waned in the second half, still solid though.
American Beauty has a lot of the Grateful Dead's radio hits on it, with Box of Rain being my favorite. That being said, I'm giving it a 4.
An all around goodie, Money For Nothing's opening riff still gets me, and I like the variety of styles that Mark Knopfler plays on the album.
Two stars for two good songs on one album. The rest of the album made me keep checking to see how much longer I had left to listen to.
I liked their hits, which I had already heard, but the rest of the album definitely blends together.
I kind of liked this one in the beginning, then the middle lost me, but the end of the album brought me back. I was surprised that I actually knew some of these songs, I think.
I enjoyed the first half of the album, but I felt like the second half got a bit more experimental and I was happy when I saw that the I'd reached the final song of the album.
I liked this album more than I thought I would. I knew "Drive" and "Pardon Me" before listening to this one and I don't really care for those songs, but it was the rest of the album that took me by surprise.
This is one of my favorite albums! I remember hearing "Hot 'Lanta" for the first time and I was immediately taken aback by the musicianship of the group. It's still one of my faves by them! After hearing the live versions of their music, their studio albums just don't do it for me, haha.
Idk what it is about XTC that this list loves so much, but I don't feel the same.
Pretty cool album, definitely worth the listen. A lot of the issues he raps about are still talked about today, though there are some that need updating and I'd be interested to say what he says about social media and phones! haha
I'm not a huge Elton John fan and I hadn't listened to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road before this, but that was a great listen! I enjoyed this one from start to finish and it was nice to hear some of his songs that aren't always on the radio.
Not great for me, but also not bad. I really want to like Morrissey, but I've only come across a handful of songs that I really like so far.
A lot of the songs followed the same formula, but I have to admit that I enjoyed listening to this one though I didn't think I would.
Not a fan
I don't like Cult of Personality, automatic 1 star deduction. Not terrible, but I didn't like it.
What a musical journey that was! Not for me, but at times I was dancing at my desk like I was at a club or something, which should be an automatic +1 stars.
Dare I give this one a 4? I shall. I feel like I heard so many 2000/2010s Indie riffs in this album from 1981. I'd never heard of this group before and yet I thought I had listened to half of their album before. I wonder if a lot of Indie Rock artists found inspo from this group because it sure sounded like it.
Great vocals and good 90s rock.
I was in between a 3 and a 4 for this one, but I have to go with 4 here. A lot of good stuff in here, nothing that blew me away, but certainly kept me interested throughout the album.
I've listened to this one so many times, so nothing new, but it felt commercial at times. I found myself liking the songs that aren't played on the radio more but still felt the whole album was very good.
Looks and sounds a bit like Oasis did
Not my vibe.
Pre-Classic Bee Gees, not too shabby. I hadn't heard any of these songs before and they sounded like a rough version of themselves before they became the refined hit makers. Still pretty good though.
I liked the album artwork, but not so much the music.
This sounded a lot like Bon Iver, I thought it might have been him at first. I would guess he had some influence from this group. Good album though, I'm in between a 3 and 4. I'll settle with high 3, but I think that could change to a 4 after a few listens.
This was an interesting album; it felt like a lot of these songs were some version of "Carnival Song." I think I've heard "Once I Was" before and I do like that song.
I liked most of this album... I had to break it up into sessions though and I think that the last session was the worst, so it ended on a bad note for me. Still, considering I enjoyed most of the album I'll stick with a low 4.
Went from rock to experimental in the blink of an eye. I liked No More Sorry, but not All I Need. Then right back to the regularly scheduled program of (garage?) rock songs.
Some good songs in there, not a bad listen.
I haven't listened to too much of the Flaming Lips besides their more well-known stuff. I would not have guessed that they were making albums in the mid-80s though. Solid album though I enjoyed it and he used "realize" in a couple of songs here and it sounds exactly like their song "Do You Realize" in the way he pronounces it, so I guess it's one of his fave words.
I liked some of the songs, but it's not my genre of choice.
I only knew Sunny Afternoon from this one, but pretty good stuff.
Liked this more than I thought I would
Wasn't expecting the western and pirate songs in there! This was a great one to listen to.
I'm a huge fan of The Band's music and this album could possibly be their best and at times my favorite.
I knew "Game of Pricks" off this album, good song. I was also surprised that they fit 28 songs in 41 minutes. Overall, a solid 3 for me.
Some very good songs on there, some not as good.
Not a fan at all of walk this way, but the rest was nice.
I had listened to this album quite a bit in the past and this could be peak grunge, perhaps. Very heavy guitar with great vocals.
80s montage.
Sounded like a not-as-good version of Rumours, haha.
I have never heard of this band before, but I think this was a solid 3. Very 60s sounding and an enjoyable listen.
Not my genre, but a pretty fun album
So bad it was almost good. I’m really not sure how this one made the list, but I guess this was the best that UK rap had to offer at the time. While this one was blatantly bad to me, I did enjoy listening to it because I had more than a few laughs along the way.
This album was okay for most of the listening, but I feel really ended on a high note. Not enough to make it a 4, but definitely enough to make it a solid 3 that I may return to.
A Van Halen classic, iconic guitar work.
I hadn't listened to this one by Neil before, but I really enjoyed it!
I was debating whether to slap a 5 on this thing, but I think it is a very high 4. Some 90s classics on here as well as some other songs that I hadn't heard before but really liked listening to for the first time.
I was afraid that I wouldn't like this one at all going into it, which is a bad mindset when exploring new music,,,, but it was not bad the first go around and the second listen I think it's a very solid 3. There are some songs in there that I will add to the rotation.
I feel lukewarm about this album. While it was a chill and easy listen, that's all it felt like.
A lot of songs on here that I knew, but didn't know I knew. I'm feeling the rare 4 from an album I've never listened to until yesterday.
This is a great.
I really liked this one, fun and easy to listen to.
First song is great, the rest blends.
Experimental for sure, although my Spotify auto-played a different Pere Ubu song after the album finished, and it made Dub Housing sound mainstream.
Really good album from start to finish.
Not sure this one has the power to destroy rock &roll... Nevertheless, I didn't hate it, but I also wouldn't listen to this one again.
Nice drumming, but many songs felt repetitive.
I like Velvet Underground, but this album seems like it was slapped together. Some decent moments in there though.
I know her from a guest appearance w/ the Band in the Last Waltz, but this album wasn't for me. Made me kind of sleepy.
I've listened to this one a few times before and I thought it would probably be a 4, but after a thorough listen I have to give it a 5.
I had high hopes for this one but was left feeling underwhelmed.
I would say this is a low 4. First time I've listened to a lot of these songs with Shanghai Noodle Factory and Light Up Or Leave Me Alone being my faves.
I liked this one more than I thought I would. I wouldn't say it's my jam, but for an 88-minute techno (to my ears) album, it was not half bad.
Some of the songs in there were pretty good I thought, but the second half was very sleepy. While listening I thought wow is this guy in his 60s/70s and writing some career sendoff album?? Wikipedia tells me that is not the case, he was in his 40s when this was released.
Great live album starts off with a goodie and finishes on top with Do You Feel Like We Do. This album displays Frampton's guitar work in ways the studio versions of his songs cannot.
I'd say this was a high 3, I enjoyed it but didn't love it.
I know of Frank Ocean, but I had never listened to him before. There were some tracks that I did like, and I can appreciate the music, but the overall sound wasn't for me.
Not a huge fan of Rush, but wow this was good!
Are you a Mod or a Rocker?? I'm a Mocker myself. I've not heard of this band before, but I might listen again. Album was solid 3 for me.
Not for me (-0__0-)
Wasn't moved by it initially, but I got into the second half of the album.
I think every song had the 80s synth sound. Overall, I thought it was a fine album.
After watching Dylan's recent biopic, I had a little more appreciation for his folk music as well as his early electric, which I did already enjoy. Also, while listening to the second set, I thought I recognized the jangly guitar playing of Robbie Robertson, only to find out that this way the era where Dylan was being backed by an early version of The Band.
First song was pretty good, the rest did not move me.
Part of me really wants to like Kings of Leon, the other part of me just can't get that into them.
Really not in my realm of music, but lyrically this piece was moving.
I thought this would be more pop bc of the title, but I don't think it was. Another 80s album imo.
I listened to the extended version with demos included, and I really liked the acoustic demo versions. I would probably give the demos a 4 and the album a 3. Being that the demos are stripped down renditions of the album I'll reach up to 4 on this.
Pre-grunge grunge. I thought it was a solid early grunge album, and it seems like they were ahead of their time in that sense.
Very groovy! You can believe that these two backed David Byrne in the Talking Heads.
It was fine.
felt like every song was repeating itself, boots and cats and boots and cats
Not my wave.
When I started playing the first song, I almost immediately turned it off and gave it a 2, but I decided to let it play. While this isn't my favorite genre by a long shot, I did enjoy some of this album. It reminded me of Metallica at times and the drumming kept me interested.
While I am not a U2 guy, I was expecting more from this album. Besides One and Mysterious Ways, which were songs I already knew, the album didn't do much for me.
I have this one on vinyl, so I was very excited when I saw it pop up as album of the day. While I do think the first side is better than the second, I really love this album as a whole. Syd Barrett puts a lot of twists and turns in the music and lyrics that I just love. It's too bad he wasn't able to build off this one.
I went into this album thinking it was going to be Carly Simon, but I was mistaken. Enjoyed this though.
Felt lukewarm about this one. Some of the kinda blended in a bit for me, didn’t like nor dislike.
The ones you always hear on the radio don't do much for me anymore, but I thought the deep tracks on the album were really good. Though, a lot of these songs don't song as good once you hear them live off of "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out."
Silver Soul is a song I've listened to before, partially because it was sampled in Money Trees by Kendrick Lamar, but I liked their original song a lot as well. This album was very indie, but I think it was missing a little something to take it to a 4 for me, but still a solid album imo.
Powderfinger alone carries this to a 4 for me, but I'm a big Neil Young fan and this is another goodie. I always love his soft acoustic set against the heavy toned electric sets.
I was not familiar with Julian Cope before this, but the album was pretty good. Nothing really catching my ears but not making them want to shut either.
I thought most of the album was okay, but that last song almost knocked my rating down a star.
I'm gonna give this a 4, I think this was a very good album all the way through. They reminded me of the Pixies and this was in 78'! People said the Pixies were early to the scene and this was ten years before them. Good shtuff.
Ehhh, I liked this at times, but that flamed out towards the end.
Not a huge AC/DC fan, but I can appreciate some of their songs. This one is a hard rocking album with some classics on it, but the other songs aren't too dissimilar. At the same time, it'd be hard to lump this one in with the other 3s that I've given out, so I'll put this as a low 4 for me.
Didn't like everything, but this was a passion project gone right I think
Some of this album I thought was really good, other parts I caught myself going to take my ear buds out because it was that bad.
Pretty solid, first song I knew and liked, the rest weren't pretty Smith-y as well.
Haven't listened to this one before, but some songs I really didn't like and others I thought were good and clever.
I liked this more than I thought I would. I wasn't expecting Ice Cube to make a guest appearance that's for sure.
I've heard these songs so many times on the radio that I typically don't seek them out anymore, but listening to this whole from start to finish made me feel like this was a masterpiece.
This was a weird one, it caught my attention and I kinda liked like music. I don't think I've listened to this band before, but they definitely caught my ears. They kind of remind me of David Bowie in certain instances.
What a comeback album from Elvis.
The seeds of Led Zeppelin. You can really hear where a lot of the influence that this album had on Zeppelin I.
Thought this had some funny moments in it, also didn't know that Frank Zappa was around this early. I thought he came around in the 70sish.
As slow as molasses running down a hill ona hot summa's day. The 12-minute final song was complete cheap shot too.
This was definitely maybe a 4. Some redundancy in their songs, but I liked it.
Getting Cool in the Pool is easily a top 5 song about pools for me, and the Persian one caught my interest as well.
Very cool album, 21st century schizoid man was sampled in a Kanye West song that I knew which I was not expecting at all.
I've never listened to a Prince album; I've only heard the well-known songs on the radio. It was good and I can appreciate the talent he has, but it's not my genre of music.
A solid 3, reminded me of music that would play in the background of a skateboarding game.
Didn't entirely like this one too much, but I liked how much he seemed to enjoy recording this.
This was a 3 for a while, but with the help of a grassroots folk faze that I'm going through as well as my jean overalls, straw hat, jug of moonshine, and lip full of chewing tabacci this was elevated to a 4.
What I imagine walking around France sounds like.
Reminded me a lot of Nick Cave and the Badseeds, so I was felt lukewarm towards this album.
it's not that the music was bad, but automatic star deduction for being that long of an album and all the songs practically being the same, in my ears.
I wanted to like this one more, but it was not to be. Still good, but not as good as I wanted.
I'm not a fan of T. Rex, but listening to the album as a whole I thought it was good. I don't think I've become a fan or will seek it out further, but still good.
A classic.
That was interesting, sometimes groovy.
A pleasant listen.
The first few songs I kind of liked, the rest not so much. The baby crying one at the end was pretty funny.
Sounds like a score to a musical, not a big fan of this one. The music wasn't bad per se, but not for me and by the looks of his Spotify, not for many others either... lol
Not usually my kind of music, but I went for a walk while listening to this and I was walking on sunshine. I enjoyed this album and really liked the driving rhythm section.
Pretty good
Very groovy, close to a high 3, but I'll nudge it up to a 4 for groovy-ness
I really enjoyed this album; it got a little sleepy at times but solid most of the way through.
I was surprised to see that this was the Byrds album included on the list. It was okay.
slow torture
Good stuff, a high 3 for me, not a 4 though.
A very solid 3 for me
Not my thing
Oh boy.
Didn't like this as much as I wanted to.
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would.
Sounded like they were trying to tap into the Strokes' sound but fell flat. It's in between a 2 and a 3 for me, but I liked some songs, so I'll go 3.
I forgot I knew some of these songs, pretty nostalgic to listen to and so very 90s.
This was a great listen through and through.
country western classic
A fine album, nothing bad, but nothing great either.
I wanted to like this one more, but it wasn't meat to be.
Didn't care for it.
I'm not an Alice Cooper fan, but I think this album was pretty versatile. I wasn't expecting to hear the different styles that I did.
Better than I thought it would be.
This album was all over the place, but I liked it.
First time listening to this one all the way through, an early Neil Young showcase.
This one had me in the first half and I truly believed this would be the first 4 I gave to an album like this, but the magic ran dry, and it finished as a 3.
I thought they sounded a lot like the Flaming Lips, only to find out that they have close ties. I thought some of the songs were similar and that first half was better than the second half.
Enjoyed this one all the way through, very good flow to it.
Assault! Assault!
Very good mix of songs.
The perfect The Doors album.
The guitar reminded me a lot of early Arctic Monkeys. Pretty enjoyable listen.
#4 was the best one and reminded me of Pink Floyd when they were in between Syd Barret and Dark Side of the Moon.
Such a good summer album.
I've heard the first song, and liked the album at first, but was over it on the back half.
Besides the last song, I enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would.
This could be a right place right time kind of album, but it was very soothing to listen to on this cloudy Friday morning. I think it has an intrinsic value of 3 but has been elevated to a 4 due to circumstances.
I had high expectations for this album, and it disappointed me a bit. A few of the sounds sounded like Fire and Rain and it just fell a little flat for me.
I felt very meh about this one.
I still have Walkin The Dog stuck in my head.
Very good for what it was.
I had a lot of fun listening to this one, I thought this was drill rap, but it is actually grime. Either way it's catchy, funny, and great to dance to.
This reminded me a lot of Prince, it was a good album, but not something that I'll be dipping back into.
didn't love it, didn't hate it kind of album.
Chill listen
Reminded me of the Zutons, I may come back to this album. I don't think it crossed the threshold of 4, but a solid 3 for now, maybe a 4 in the future.
It didn't seem a like a soul album, and it went on forever... Wasn't a great listen for me
I'm typically a big Neil Young fan, but this one didn't stick out to me like the other albums. I liked the tone and guitar work, but the songs didn't do it for me.
A three if there ever was one. Fun Rod Stewart album I reckon.
I wasn't dancing modernly to this one, there were moments where I enjoyed and other moments where I was checking how much longer the album had left.
The first half of this album is a no-doubter 5 with great tunes in diverse tones, but the second half of this album was one 30-minute funk rock jam sesh with Anthony Kiesdis ad-libbing in the mic and I'd give it a 3 for musicianship. So, I guess that makes this a 4, though with the great songs that are on here, you could certainly make the argument that it's still a 5.
A consistent album that sounded solid all the way through.
This was a difficult one to grade and I can see why this had a cult following. This was also the first Genesis album I listened to all the way through, and I get the sense you need to be a real ran beforehand to truly appreciate it. I'll give this a 3 but I understand it's probably a 4 if I liked Genesis.
Didn't entirely care for this one.
The Smiths copycat band. Good album tho.
A little disappointed, some of these songs sounded very similar and were too much for my soft ears.
Sounded A LOT like early The Arctic Monkeys albums, very similar. Who copied who? Either way, not as good as them, but it was a fine album if you're into this genre.
Average 70s rock album, can't help but hear Bowie in these songs.
Good 60s album, felt like all of their hits were on here and the other stuff was still enjoyable.
Seems like they were ahead of their time, solid album.
I remember hearing Paranoid, the song, for the first time as a kid and I was instantly hooked. This album is more commercial than their first album, but it is oh-so-good and always great to revisit.
I ended up liking this more than I thought I would, pretty funky, pretty fresh, pretty funny at times.
Praise you was the only song I knew and liked. The rest sounded like it was a long outro song to the 90s.
I thought this was Bon Iver for half of the album, but it was not, and he was not involved at all from what I can tell. I did generally like the album, but I couldn't fully immerse myself so it's a 3 not a 4.
Standard 2010s indie album.
80s hair band to the max, which isn't my genre in the slightest. It doesn't do anything for me which puts it in the 3 category for me.
Sounded familiar, pretty good beatzz, 90s hip-hop through and through.
My brother introduced me to the Stooges w/ Search and Destroy and I gotta say that was prob the best song on there. The others were good at times but didn't really grab me as much.
"Pip pippy pippy pip pip landerim" sounds like the activation code for a sleeper agent, but I digress. I don't know how to feel about this album really, it's not a three because it was so unique, but I certainly can't say it's a 4,, so I guess I have to give it a 2.
What a horrible way to start a morning :)
Good indie record.
I felt indifferent to this album.
This guy has 5 albums on here, a puzzling fact that I don't quite understand. It's a 2 fa me
I liked the 'tude of this album, a lotta good 'tude.
Very groovy, I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would.
Orbital, we meet again. Didn't like this one so much, maybe it was my circumstances i.e. not being in a former factory turned nightclub...
I thought about this one a good bit, I have to go 4. A classic mid 60s rocker, I’ve probably listened to My Generation over a hundred times and it’s just a classic.
Thought this was a decent rock album, I do like his unique guitar style. That being said, he doesn’t stray far from it.
Wow, can't believe I haven't heard of this group before. Great vocals, great folk jams, great listen.
This was really good, I felt like I got more into the album as it went on too.
I've heard a few of these before but enjoyed the whole album. I haven't listened to Jay-Z if forever and this was aged well IMO.
An interesting listen, some songs I couldn't for to be over, but it wasn't all that bad. Some good ones in the mix.
Thought that would never end... Not one I'd recommend using headphones for, could've broken that up into 2 albums pretty easily I'd say as well.
Second Brian Eno album sounds a little like the Talking Heads. It's derivative
If it isn't Friday I'm in Love, then get it out of here.
This was a great chaotic 60ss rock, an all-around rocker.
Extra point for having a cool name.
Pure early 2000s rock, sounds a lot like Arctic Monkey's records from this era. Pleasant listen all the way through.
I've listened to the Meat Puppets before, seemed like they were ahead of their time. Pretty good stuff on their, but not enough to get to a 4.
I thought this was going to be the band Roots, not the album. My ears were caught off guard to say the least. Overall, not my jam.
This one snuck up on me. I didn’t particularly like the other Cohen album, but this one was felt different.
It was a solid 80s album, In Your Eyes was a perfect anchor for this one.
I’ve never heard of this band before, interesting music though. Rhyming lyrics that were not so clever, seemed like it was their shtick though.
The first time I’ve listened to this whole album, I really liked the songs they liked while the other stuff was just good.
Great early Jeff Beck guitar work, Over Under Sideways Down being a standout song.
At first I wasn’t liking this one, but I realized that this is a moody album and that’s what they’re going for. In that regard, they nailed it, but still not something I’d be looking for.
Avg 60s album, the Byrds should have stuck to Bob Dylan covers, that’s their bread and butter.
I listened to this twice and I didn’t mind it the second time through. College rock is what this sounds like to me.
Raunchy, pretty good guitar work, but ehh overall. I guess a low 3 is where I’d put it.
80s synth pop hell, this was so bad it made me feel nauseous.
Meh..
This didn’t really do it for me, I’ve heard a lot about the album but it didn’t stand out to me. Maybe I need another listen.
That brother Ira was singing from the heart when he was going on about the devil and temptations.
The orchestra didn't work with a lot of the songs, Master of Puppets being the worst offense. I won't knock it for being 2hrs because it was a concert, but it would've been better if it was just them playing. Listening to this in two sessions helped a good deal in making it enjoyable during certain parts.
Nice and easy listening.
Such a greater all-around album by Neil, could be my favorite by him.
Great stuff from Green Day, I had this on CD when a was a wee lad.
A nice mix in the music, 80s celt crossover was not something I've heard too much of. Their rendition of Sweet Thing did the song justice too. Good listen.
This is a miss for me, sounded like an 80s album for sure, but it didn't stand out.
I was leaning towards a 4 halfway through the album, but I'm really not an Aerosmith fan. Maybe it is Steven Tyler's voice, maybe it was overplayed on the radio, maybe a combo. it's probably a 4 but I don't like Aerosmith.
ZZ Top before they were very commercial sounded good, they really refined their sound down the line, but I don't think they strayed too far from where they started musically.
This was fun and upbeat, didn't reach the level of 4, but still a good listen.
French Rammstein. Sounded redundant at times, but that could be because I don't speak French.
This album should come with a black turtleneck and sunglasses. I'm settling for a 2, this didn't move me.
A good rocker from 1965. I had not heard of the Sonics before, but they played their own style of some classic 60s covers.
Sounded like I was listening to the soundtrack from Coraline.
The instrumentals on this were really good and the other stuff was good
Fun and groovy, hadn’t listened to most of these songs before.
I hate to say this, but it felt like it was noise, not music.
Didn't feel strongly about this, wasn't bad as background music.
The whole album felt like a dreamscape.
I liked the surfer song, but the rest didn't do much for me.
I am a fan of the Stones' Mick Taylor era, and this has a lot of his influence in it.
I haven’t listened to Alanis Morissette very much, but this album is very good.
Love this one
It was OK
How the hell is this guy on here 7 times??
Not really my thing
Kind of what I expected Primal Scream to sound like.
Fun and funky
Some songs I liked, some I was hoping would be over soon. Reminds me of the Clash.
I'm in between a 4 and 5. On one hand it is a rocking album and a huge comeback album after their lead singer died. On the other hand, they use like the same four chords for each song. I'll go 4.
A less over the top version of Queen. It was good, but they aren't for me.
I'm a big fan of The Strokes and this album introduced me to their music. There isn't a song on here that I don't like and at one point in time, I think each one was probably my favorite off the album. The radio hits like Last Nite and Someday are good songs, but I've listened to them too many times at this point.
I'm not a fan of Aerosmith, but this album was solid.
I thought was the 90s group going into it, I was wrong.
Reminded me of the carpenters
An interesting album, with an array of different styles. I'll go a high 3.
This was a fun easy listen, high 3.
This was better than I thought it would be, different from what I expected. Not a 4, but a solid 3 and easy listening. Maybe it's a 4 if I was at a BBQ and it was 80 degrees and sunny out... I miss the summer
Solid all the way through.
There were some sections of this where it gets too "experimental" for me, but I love the Dead. St. Stephen is one of my faves and The Eleven and Turn on Your Lovelight jams were full of great energy.
I liked this less as it went on.
My first concert was Green Day on their America Idiot tour, this album meant a lot to me at the time. First CD I bought too, or my parents bought for me at my request..
I don't like the title track, way overplayed, but the album was pretty good.
Not my cup of tea, I hear Summertime Sadness and Young and Beautiful, but they aren't playing..
I liked the first song, I thought I would like the rest, but the songs didn't do anything for me.
Yep, that's a metal album alright.
An easy and chill listen for a Sunday.
What a gem, great listen.
I thought I would like this, but I appalled it. I thought it would be a fun early 2000s rock album, which it sort of is, but my ears didn't agree with it. Too much mumble yelling.
Easy listen.
I didn't feel strongly about this album in either direction.
This genre doesn't do it for me.
Not a huge LS fan, but so many classics.
Prob my fave of the Leonard Cohen albums so far.
Certainly an interesting vibe, at times slow.
Fun 90s rap album, not quite a 4 for me but I could see why people would say it is.
Good palate cleanser album, a solid 3
This album is great all the way through, Neil Young elevates this one compared to CSN’s debut which I enjoyed a lot.
Fun and easy listen.
I thought I would like this band more, maybe it needs a second listen.
It was fine, first song was the best.
Some good songs on here, it didn't elevate to a 4 though.
Reminded me of the band that sings love shack
Still not a Steely Dan fan but the album was good
Rounding up to a 4, some classics in there but also some not so great lyrics
I liked this more than I thought I would, besides the songs I knew already, the album had a great flow to it
I thought this would be a snoozer, but it was a pleasant listen, bad on me for assuming otherwise.
A disappointment, opens with Hotel California and doesn’t get close to that besides life in the fast lane
No Tom's Diner???
Pass
I don't like GNR, but this was hard to not like. Paradise City was stuck in my head for 12 hours afterwards.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting. Remember was my favorite track, the Do It Again sample in the background elevated that for me.
It was a regular Brit Punk band, nothing stood out in particular.
Didn't enjoy
Hungry LIke the Wolf makes this a 3, the rest I could do without
Beep beep boop bop beep
Some classics on here, still not a big fan of Fleetwood Mac though.
Talk about an album that sounded like every genre that had a moment in the 90s/early 2000s, I heard a lot of different musical influences.
OK Listen
The first half was a 5, the second half was a 3.
At times skippable, other times bearable.
Easy listen
Some great songs followed by some songs I felt less strongly about.
Pleasant surprise.
I really like the song No Other, the rest of the album didn't do it for me as much tho.
Not as good as the other T. Rex album
Title track was catchy, the rest didn't stand out
I felt dizzy listening to this album.
Pass
Thought this was the Stolling Rones
WACK! Don't like U2
twas OK
Good from start to finish
A lot moodier than I was expecting, still pretty good indie.
vocals were rough, but I get it. Good album, not a 4 but some 4 worthy songs on there.
Pretty good, sounded a little bit like No Doubt with less Reggae.
Very spacey at times.. to be expected though
Didn't move me, but it wasn't bad.
At times I forgot I was listening to the Beastie Boys; I thought this was a step up from Licensed to Ill.
This one disappointed me a bit, was waiting for it to kick in, but it never did.
Felt like a very long 35 minutes.. didn't do it for me
I liked this one more than Hysteria, I tried to imagine myself with a blonde mullet in a backyard at a BBQ, but that only held for so long before reality set back in.
pretty good indie album
Slow and moody besides Freedom..
My fave Bob Dylan album.
This has been the most enjoyable Nick Cave album so far.
This is much different from the material I'm used to hearing on the radio. I like some of his songs, but I wouldn't call myself a "fan" of his music. This album was a decent listen, especially considering it was released in the early 2000s after his prime. Kind of a long album, but Worlds Apart and the Rising were my fave songs from the album.
pretty good, probably one of the longer outro songs I've come across though.
a worse sounding Metallica
Enjoyed it, easy listen.
