The Fall2 stars feels rough, but there's just much better post-punk albums out there. I'd likely never to listen to this again.

Just dreadful.
I generally am a big fan of post-punk and punk music but I didn't really like this one. Please give me something by the Cure or the Clash next!!!!
and every time you speak her name does she know how you told me you'd hold me until you die? 'til you die? but you're still alive!
This was one of my favourite albums as a teenager and it's still as good as the first time I heard it. I've always liked Radiohead, but I'm not as big a fan as a lot of people. In my opinion, this is the best Radiohead album. Truly excellent from start to finish.
Just not my cup of tea. I think if you halved the album and just picked out the good bits you could have something special, but it's just too long with too much filler.
Very generic 80s sort of new wave sound, and just nothing that made it stand out to me.
I feel like I can't give it less than 3 stars because there are some songs on here I like (or have liked in the past)... but some of this was pretty bad.
gave me a migraine
Between a 4-5 for me (would've been a 5 if the second half was just as fun as the first). Really really enjoyed it!
I've always been a casual fan of the White Stripes but I think this was my first time listening to Elephant - it's been on repeat ever since, truly great album.

This was fine, but I don't really understand why it made the list? I have to say, I'd never listen to this one again...
I found this to be unlistenable. Incredibly boring.
PJ Harvey is my absolute favourite artist, and this is in my opinion her best album. 5 stars is not enough!

Music has changed a lot since the 50s...

Pretty garbage but this list has had worse. Some songs really sound like Blur.
Way too long. If you're into electronic music then maybe this is something you need to listen to before you die, but the average person could definitely skip this one.
Wow! I do not remember this album being so good! I've always been a slight fan of Pulp, and always in particular loved Jarvis Cocker's absurd and funny lyrics (kinda like Sparks or some of the Smiths music). More music should be funny.... In particular, the run from track 1 to 5 is just banger after banger. This sits between a high 4 or a low 5 for me.
I am not a Smashing Pumpkins lover or a hater. For the most part, I found the quality of the album to be really good but I'm sorry - nothing justifies that run time. It is nowhere near engaging enough to be the length of a movie. If you have more songs you want to put out, then make a deluxe like everyone else? Bullet With Butterfly Wings is crazy good though.
"Pass the pub that wrecks your body And the church, all they want is your money The Queen is dead, boys And it's so lonely on a limb" Probably my favourite album when I was 17 and still one of my favourites today. 5+++++ "Send me the pillow.... the one that you dream on..."
Not terrible, but not for me
I think I am not a fan of reggae, but I can appreciate that this is probably as good as reggae gets
Maybe I've got rubbish taste in music, cause I kinda like Coldplay.
This is my kind of thing! I think with more listens it could be a 5.
It's too long with some songs that feel like filler. Some songs are good though.
I think jazz music is just not for me
All these electronic albums from the 90s are so dated. More dated than anything else this list keeps churning out. Please stop.
I listened to this in two parts as it is pretty long, but it is consistently good. I think the length and it being two separate albums doesn't work so well for streaming but I imagine this was cool as a CD.
Maybe pretty good at the time (?) but I won't be revisiting this one
Why is this one of the best selling albums of all time?
I liked it! High 3
Just dreadful.
Siouxsie & the Banshees version of Dear Prudence is so good that the Beatles sounds like a cover. I feel like I'm saying this a lot on here, but this album is too long, and it's so clear which stuff is good and which stuff is filler. Overall though it's still good. I preferred Rubber Soul though.
I don't feel I know enough about World music to give this a rating
solid 4. always loved Suffragette City.
Sounds like most other Radiohead stuff but more boring. I don't think this should be on the list.
Obviously...
What is it with this guy?
Hey hey, my my is too good
High 3, but not quite a 4
high 2 low 3, not completely garbage but still not great
Would have been a 3 if it was shorter
Let me here you depoliticise my rhyme... (One of my favorites, obvious 5)
This is not the most obviously bad album we have had on this list, but it's an album that I kept going "what?" to, and "that surely can't be the lyrics..." So yeah, easy 1. It felt like listening to the Wiggles at times, but with more adult themes I guess.
I enjoyed this...
Pretty much total crap but at least it was short.
Total snoozefest
I LOVE KATE BUSH & I LOVE THIS ALBUM!
Hilariously bad. It's an insult this is being classified as punk.
So many great albums didn't make this list, and this is just so mediocre. Also the vocals are pretty annoying.
I'm so sorry, Bruce!
I really enjoyed this! Made sense once I realised it was Steve Albini.... First song was trying a bit too hard to be edgy and wound up gross though...
Low 3, it was fine
I kind of have an appreciation of what they were going for here (I think it's supposed to be fun and not taken very seriously (?)). I won't listen to it again though!
Joni Mitchell is one of my favourite artists but Court and Spark was not an album I would ever reach for - and I was wrong! Joni might just be the greatest songwriter of all time!
bit boring, couldn't wait for it to end
This was a really interesting listen!
Not a huge prog rock fan but I can see why people like this album.
This was somehow worse than I was expecting. At the very least, it moved fast enough.
I went into this with an open mind but it was just kind of grating and yet somehow boring.
This is kind of a nothing album.
The Twilight soundtrack really was good huh
Am I missing something here? This album seems to be really lauded and I didn't enjoy it at all.
I vaguely recognised the song "Girl from Mars" from Gilmore Girls. I knew it was a Jess & Rory scene but I had the context wrong... apparently it's from the end of his first episode according to the interweb. I thought it was from a later episode in the scene where Jess is smoking at the petrol station (so dangerous!) Jess's first episode is a great episode of Gilmore Girls. I'd likely give it 5 stars. Time to review the album... this was fine to good. I could see why some people would really enjoy this. 3 stars feels apt.
A lot of harsh reviews on this one! I can see why this deserves to be on the list considering some of the other stuff that is on here. Much rather listen to one Robbie album than the umpteenth Bob Dylan etc. Angels is a perfect pop song. Not relevant to the music but I also really like the album art!
What is there even to say about what might be my favourite album of all time? The songwriting on this album is phenomenal and somehow relatable in a way that I cannot believe it is over 50 years old. Joni sings and writes about womanhood in a way that is absolutely timeless. I made a list of my favourite lyrics on this album because I think they speak for themselves: All I Want: "I am on a lonely road and I am traveling Traveling, traveling, traveling Looking for something, what can it be? Oh, I hate you some, I hate you some, I love you some Oh, I love you when I forget about me" "Do you see, do you see, do you see how you hurt me, baby? So I hurt you too Then we both get so blue" My Old Man: "We don't need no piece of paper From the city hall Keeping us tied and true" "But when he's gone Me and them lonesome blues collide The bed's too big The frying pan's too wide" Little Green: "Child with a child pretending Weary of lies you are sending home So you sign all the papers in the family name You're sad and you're sorry but you're not ashamed Little green have a happy ending" California: "Sitting in a park in Paris, France Reading the news and it sure looks bad They won't give peace a chance That was just a dream some of us had" "Oh will you take me as I am Strung out on another man California I'm coming home" A Case of You: "Oh I am a lonely painter I live in a box of paints I'm frightened by the devil And I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid I remember that time you told me you said "Love is touching souls" Surely you touched mine 'Cause part of you pours out of me In these lines from time to time" The Last Time I Saw Richard: "The last time I saw Richard was Detroit in '68 And he told me all romantics meet the same fate someday" ""Richard, you haven't really changed" I said It's just that now you're romanticizing some pain that's in your head" "Richard got married to a figure skater And he bought her a dishwasher and a coffee percolator"
Not as good as Elephant but a pretty solid debut. Had some good singles on it too!
Should not be on the list. Completely soulless. There are a few omissions from this list of albums that are actually quite defining in their own genres, and then you get something like this which just feels like a rip off of other music at the time.
This was pretty good. A bit slow for my personal taste, but overall enjoyable.
Great album with some huge songs on it. & the Gilmore Girls theme tune!
No, no, no. There is absolutely no need for a live Bob Dylan album to be on this list. Not when there are already 6(!) other Bob Dylan albums on this list.
Eh, 1.5 stars would probably be most apt
There was something in the air that night, the stars were bright, Fernando. Low 4.
I really like Paul Simon. Just beautiful song writing all around. Need me his jacket.
