Pre listen: I don't think I will like , have avoided due to vocal so far Post listen: Vocal was OK, like Rodriguez and see it's influnce on contemporary acts like foxxygen. I think at the time it would have been more exciting/ground breaking but to me it's a little dull. I gather they liked heroine from the lyrics

Pre: I'm Fan of organ blues/jazz I will like this and did want on vinyl at one point Post: don't need it on vinyl, did like it. Was a bit more pop and commercial sounding compared to Jimmy smith

Pre: 1st album i know well. Tom Scholz ground breaking studio/gear analog wizardry for rock anthems. Amazing vocals by Brad delph? Post: amazing recored, guitar was less impressive then when I listend as a kid after so much thin lizzy ect but solid still

Solos are soulless goblody-gook yet still impressive, love the slower bpm stuff, higher bpm moments (most of the album) were an anxiety ride

What a fun ride. Great layers to these songs and the intro tracks was perfection for my rain filled drive into the city

Beautiful production and acoustic centered arrangements. His lyrics about his relationship coming to an end, in my interpretation at least, made my own relationship anxietys flare up

Immaculate song writing, vocal melody and catchy hooks and choruses throughout. A great album to lift your mood

Painfully white music, and I'm white. I can see the appeal but it left me wanting any groove/drums/rhythm ect. But that's on me not being in the mood for emotional a cappella art today I guess

I liked this more then I thought I would. Good use of the blues and Jack White stands out as unique

This had me asking "Who the fuck is Melody Nelson?" Then I looked it up after and man, mabey worst concept for an album ever. I don't speak French but he sure sounds like he would be up for some statutory. The funky instrumentals were cool though

Q-tip really shines on this album for me , incredible lyricism and great bass and drum beats

I have a love hate relationship with Metallica and this album represents the hate. The Symohony takes away from the original songs for me and the sonic experiment does not work and leaves me thinking they are a bunch of metal posers at this point
