It's not an album I'll be saving any songs from or listening to again, but it did seem to have some pretty profound messaging for the time and feels like an early 90s hip-hop. I could see how this paved the way for other things, I didn't know there was music with this messaging then, feels spot on now
Did not like this album really at all. I'm just not an indie rock fan. None of these songs stuck with me and it all just sounded meh. Definitely not for me.
Good album, definitely ahead of its time. Multiple songs that stand up to today.
It's fine, I have no issues with it, almost akin to more background noise than anything for me, though.
I didn't take any songs away from this, but I did like it. Good vibe. Not something I'll listen to again, though.
No takeaways from me, but this put Steely Dan on the map for me, I didn't realize they had so many hits. Good album overall, but one I won't revisit
Good album, I've heard other things by them and it's very reminiscent of their other stuff I'd heard. No takeaways for me, though.
Album was fine, no takeaways for me and I wasn't crazy about it. Bang a Gong is still popular to this day, but aside from that nothing really stuck out to me
Good album, lots of hits here. I don't think I'll add any of them to my playlist, but I can definitely appreciate what's here.
Album was good, but nothing I'll be taking away. Probably not the style of music I listen to at this point
No takeaways from me, it was fine
This is really interesting, it genuinely feels like a guy talking over a track at times, I don't think I'm a fan. Although the music in the background sounds good. Summary: Sounds good, vocals bad
Good album, no takeaways but some big hits here
Good album, I've heard a fair amount of these songs before. Liked it overall
It was a fine album, no takeaways from me
Really like it, might just be hitting my mood but good background chill music. I won't listen to any of these on the regular, but really enjoying listening to it while working.
Good album, had some takeaways to put on my Classic Rock playlist. I enjoyed this one
I thought I had listened to this album start to finish, but I don't recall a lot of this. Really enjoy rap music that includes instruments (pretty sure I've heard flute and saxophone). So much of a chill vibe. It's times like these I'm often reminded I like the less popular rap songs, the most popular ones on this album I've heard, but they aren't my favorites.
Definitely feels early 2000s, I never liked this era of music. I can't tell if it's because it doesn't sound quality (well-done/well-recorded) or if it's just the vibe of how the music was then. Especially as it relates to rap and hip-hop music. Not for me.
Really did not enjoy this album. This might be the least favorite one from this experience so far. Just does not sound good at all.
Honestly, it was fine? Not a big fan, but didn't hate it. No takeaways
I expected this album to stick out a lot more to me given the popularity of some of the songs on it, but honestly it was just fine. Nothing memorable for me.
Enjoyed this album more than I expected. Songs are light, fun, and have good energy. I won't be listening to them outside of this, but enjoyed it still.
Not a folk music fan, I didn't hate it, but also not my thing. I can see why other people would like it. Also sounds good being from the 60s.
Not seeing the appeal of this album at all. I may also just be a 90s music hater. Really did not like this, would never listen again in my life
This was an odd one, definitely different, but not something I enjoyed really at all.
Not bad, but also not for me. No takeaways and won't listen to this again
Interesting, didn't dislike it, but nothing stuck out to me to save. Decent album
Not bad, don't have much to say, it was decent, but nothing caught my ear.
Interesting and unique album, I won't be listening to any of these again very likely, but I did enjoy the ride.
I'm honestly not sure why this album seems so popular. Did not enjoy it for myself. Wasn't awful, but also nothing special
Lots of popular songs on here, didn't realize this was so packed. I do like this, and have some of these saved.
Really fun listen, great all the way through. Great flow and listen as an entire experience. Really enjoyed this.
The sound is quality, and it seems upbeat. Feels like an album I should enjoy, but honestly not really a fan. I think it's because the songs sound the same the entire way through with seemingly little variation. Skipping through the songs and changing to different parts of them make them all blur together and sound like they have the same formula.
Eh, not terrible but didn't enjoy it.
Not bad, but no takeaways from me. Not my favorite, but it's interesting.
Not the biggest Metallica fan, but tried to go into this with an open mind. Wound up coming out empty handed.
Not bad, but no takeaways for me. Feels almost more like background music
This is certainly unique and different, that's for sure. Was not a fan
It was fine, no takeaways for me.
Pretty good! I had already known a couple of these. Nothing I'll listen to consistently but I can appreciate and enjoy it.
Good album honestly, interesting and fun listen. Did take away a track, now curious to hear more from him.
Great album, can definitely see why he was so highly touted. Holds up even today, was nice to listen to the album in its entirety as I haven't before.
It was fine, no takeaways but didn't dislike it
Absolute banger. Love music like this. Have never listened to a Ray Charles album before (probably very few songs) and this was wonderful
It was fine, no takeaways for me and something I wouldn't listen to again
I liked this one quite a bit, it was different, but had a nice feel. All songs feel like they had a lot put into them. I won't take away any of these, but wouldn't be opposed to listening to the album again.
I've heard a lot of parts of these songs used in songs that came after them. I can see where it was an inspiration for things to come, but I didn't like it. Not a fan of rap from this time period, I wouldn't listen to any of these songs in my spare time.
