It's not an album I'll be saving any songs from or listening to again, but it did seem to have some pretty profound messaging for the time and feels like an early 90s hip-hop. I could see how this paved the way for other things, I didn't know there was music with this messaging then, feels spot on now
Did not like this album really at all. I'm just not an indie rock fan. None of these songs stuck with me and it all just sounded meh. Definitely not for me.
Good album, definitely ahead of its time. Multiple songs that stand up to today.
It's fine, I have no issues with it, almost akin to more background noise than anything for me, though.
I didn't take any songs away from this, but I did like it. Good vibe. Not something I'll listen to again, though.
No takeaways from me, but this put Steely Dan on the map for me, I didn't realize they had so many hits. Good album overall, but one I won't revisit
Good album, I've heard other things by them and it's very reminiscent of their other stuff I'd heard. No takeaways for me, though.
Album was fine, no takeaways for me and I wasn't crazy about it. Bang a Gong is still popular to this day, but aside from that nothing really stuck out to me
Good album, lots of hits here. I don't think I'll add any of them to my playlist, but I can definitely appreciate what's here.
Album was good, but nothing I'll be taking away. Probably not the style of music I listen to at this point
No takeaways from me, it was fine
This is really interesting, it genuinely feels like a guy talking over a track at times, I don't think I'm a fan. Although the music in the background sounds good. Summary: Sounds good, vocals bad
Good album, no takeaways but some big hits here
Good album, I've heard a fair amount of these songs before. Liked it overall
It was a fine album, no takeaways from me
Really like it, might just be hitting my mood but good background chill music. I won't listen to any of these on the regular, but really enjoying listening to it while working.
Good album, had some takeaways to put on my Classic Rock playlist. I enjoyed this one
I thought I had listened to this album start to finish, but I don't recall a lot of this. Really enjoy rap music that includes instruments (pretty sure I've heard flute and saxophone). So much of a chill vibe. It's times like these I'm often reminded I like the less popular rap songs, the most popular ones on this album I've heard, but they aren't my favorites.
Definitely feels early 2000s, I never liked this era of music. I can't tell if it's because it doesn't sound quality (well-done/well-recorded) or if it's just the vibe of how the music was then. Especially as it relates to rap and hip-hop music. Not for me.
Really did not enjoy this album. This might be the least favorite one from this experience so far. Just does not sound good at all.
Honestly, it was fine? Not a big fan, but didn't hate it. No takeaways
I expected this album to stick out a lot more to me given the popularity of some of the songs on it, but honestly it was just fine. Nothing memorable for me.
Enjoyed this album more than I expected. Songs are light, fun, and have good energy. I won't be listening to them outside of this, but enjoyed it still.
Not a folk music fan, I didn't hate it, but also not my thing. I can see why other people would like it. Also sounds good being from the 60s.
Not seeing the appeal of this album at all. I may also just be a 90s music hater. Really did not like this, would never listen again in my life
This was an odd one, definitely different, but not something I enjoyed really at all.
Not bad, but also not for me. No takeaways and won't listen to this again
Interesting, didn't dislike it, but nothing stuck out to me to save. Decent album
Not bad, don't have much to say, it was decent, but nothing caught my ear.
Interesting and unique album, I won't be listening to any of these again very likely, but I did enjoy the ride.
I'm honestly not sure why this album seems so popular. Did not enjoy it for myself. Wasn't awful, but also nothing special
Lots of popular songs on here, didn't realize this was so packed. I do like this, and have some of these saved.
Really fun listen, great all the way through. Great flow and listen as an entire experience. Really enjoyed this.
The sound is quality, and it seems upbeat. Feels like an album I should enjoy, but honestly not really a fan. I think it's because the songs sound the same the entire way through with seemingly little variation. Skipping through the songs and changing to different parts of them make them all blur together and sound like they have the same formula.
Eh, not terrible but didn't enjoy it.
Not bad, but no takeaways from me. Not my favorite, but it's interesting.
Not the biggest Metallica fan, but tried to go into this with an open mind. Wound up coming out empty handed.
Not bad, but no takeaways for me. Feels almost more like background music
This is certainly unique and different, that's for sure. Was not a fan
It was fine, no takeaways for me.
Pretty good! I had already known a couple of these. Nothing I'll listen to consistently but I can appreciate and enjoy it.
Good album honestly, interesting and fun listen. Did take away a track, now curious to hear more from him.
Great album, can definitely see why he was so highly touted. Holds up even today, was nice to listen to the album in its entirety as I haven't before.
It was fine, no takeaways but didn't dislike it
Absolute banger. Love music like this. Have never listened to a Ray Charles album before (probably very few songs) and this was wonderful
It was fine, no takeaways for me and something I wouldn't listen to again
I liked this one quite a bit, it was different, but had a nice feel. All songs feel like they had a lot put into them. I won't take away any of these, but wouldn't be opposed to listening to the album again.
I've heard a lot of parts of these songs used in songs that came after them. I can see where it was an inspiration for things to come, but I didn't like it. Not a fan of rap from this time period, I wouldn't listen to any of these songs in my spare time.
Feels like a different yet familiar sound, I likely won't listen to this again, but I did enjoy it. Definitely something I can appreciate.
Love me a classic Christmas album, great!
Surprisingly new a couple of the really popular songs. Still very relevant to this day, but overall not a fan. Just didn't like hip-hop from this era. Think their couple of popular hits are very cool for their time for sure.
It was fine, nothing extraordinary, but didn't dislike it. Nothing stood out to me.
Honestly enjoyed it more than I expected for hip-hop/rap in this era. It was good and has some things that seem to stand up today. I also like the softer songs in rap albums, which tend to be less popular. This had a couple of those.
It was decent, nothing stood out enough to me to listen again, but I didn't dislike it.
Not my favorite, nothing memorable and wouldn't listen to it again. Not awful, but meh.
It was decent, no takeaways from me but seems good. Hadn't heard any of the songs before.
Not for me, not my type of music unfortunately
Not a fan personally. All feels very same-y and nothing really stands out. Almost feels more like a background noise album?
It was fine, no takeaways for me and nothing crazy. Wouldn't listen to it again, honestly.
A little somber and slow for me. Not something I'd generally listen to, but it's not bad by any means.
Not for me, it was fine? Pretty low and slow and the singing felt uninspired.
Yeah, this was not it chief. Did not enjoy this at all.
It was fine, no takeaways from me, but I could see where people would enjoy this.
Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. No takeaways to listen to regularly, but the album was an enjoyable experience. Very soft, the use of a variety of instruments was very appreciated. Felt unique and real, if that makes sense.
Album was fine, expected to like it more based on the listens it has, but nothing really stuck out. I wouldn't listen to it again and no takeaways. Didn't dislike it, but also was pretty meh on it.
Album was fine, nothing stood out to me. Again, this feels like it's super popular (or at least has been listened to a lot) and it was just meh for me. Didn't dislike it, but certainly won't be trying to listen to it again.
It was certainly unique, especially for 1977. I liked the first song as background noise, but as the album went on it definitely lost me. Didn't enjoy the rest of it as much.
Was a decent album. No takeaways from me and probably won't listen to it again, but I can appreciate it.
It was fine, nothing stuck out to me although I had heard the Julio down by the schoolyard song before!
I wouldn't go back to it, but I could understand why it's on this list.
It was a fine album. Didn't know U2 made Mysterious Ways! That was cool. I think that was the only song I knew from this one. No takeaways and not something I'd come back to.
Eh, album was fine. Registered as music in the background, nothing I felt myself jamming to. Pretty meh on it.
It was enjoyable, I wish there was more to the scale, as I liked this more than the other 3s on this list, but not quite a 4. I'd have to say 3.5. Was fun, but no takeaways from me and I won't be coming back to it.
I can certainly see why people would like this. The appeal is there and it's well-made, but it's just not for me.
A classic, enjoyed this one. Have never listened to it start-to-finish before.
Wow, I didn't realize how many bangers were on this album. Absolutely killer album with hit after hit.
It seems like I love to hate on this era of music (90s to early 2000s), but honestly this was a nice surprise. I quite enjoyed this one. Nothing I'd take away, so probably not a 4? But 3.75 for sure, a 3 feels disengenuous.
It was fine, nothing special to me. No takeaways and nothing stuck out, but I didn't hate it.
It was better than I thought it'd be. The first 3 songs really hooked me and it lulled a bit from there. Alright album, no takeaways from me.
