Popular Reviews

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon

It was fine, nothing special to me. No takeaways and nothing stuck out, but I didn't hate it.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire

Eh, not really for me. It was fine to have on, but wouldn't say I particularly enjoyed anything. Not bad either, but just meh.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths

Not bad, but no takeaways from me. Not my favorite, but it's interesting.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues

The sound is quality, and it seems upbeat. Feels like an album I should enjoy, but honestly not really a fan. I think it's because the songs sound the same the entire way through with seemingly little variation. Skipping through the songs and changing to different parts of them make them all blur together and sound like they have the same formula.

The Score by Fugees

I've heard a lot of parts of these songs used in songs that came after them. I can see where it was an inspiration for things to come, but I didn't like it. Not a fan of rap from this time period, I wouldn't listen to any of these songs in my spare time.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Oct 17 2025

It's not an album I'll be saving any songs from or listening to again, but it did seem to have some pretty profound messaging for the time and feels like an early 90s hip-hop. I could see how this paved the way for other things, I didn't know there was music with this messaging then, feels spot on now

Oct 20 2025

Did not like this album really at all. I'm just not an indie rock fan. None of these songs stuck with me and it all just sounded meh. Definitely not for me.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Oct 21 2025

Good album, definitely ahead of its time. Multiple songs that stand up to today.

Kid A by Radiohead
Oct 22 2025

It's fine, I have no issues with it, almost akin to more background noise than anything for me, though.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Oct 23 2025

I didn't take any songs away from this, but I did like it. Good vibe. Not something I'll listen to again, though.

Aja by Steely Dan
Oct 24 2025

No takeaways from me, but this put Steely Dan on the map for me, I didn't realize they had so many hits. Good album overall, but one I won't revisit

Smash by The Offspring
Oct 27 2025

Good album, I've heard other things by them and it's very reminiscent of their other stuff I'd heard. No takeaways for me, though.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Oct 28 2025

Album was fine, no takeaways for me and I wasn't crazy about it. Bang a Gong is still popular to this day, but aside from that nothing really stuck out to me

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Oct 29 2025

Good album, lots of hits here. I don't think I'll add any of them to my playlist, but I can definitely appreciate what's here.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Oct 30 2025

Album was good, but nothing I'll be taking away. Probably not the style of music I listen to at this point

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Oct 31 2025

No takeaways from me, it was fine

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Nov 03 2025

This is really interesting, it genuinely feels like a guy talking over a track at times, I don't think I'm a fan. Although the music in the background sounds good. Summary: Sounds good, vocals bad

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Nov 04 2025

Good album, no takeaways but some big hits here

Moving Pictures by Rush
Nov 05 2025

Good album, I've heard a fair amount of these songs before. Liked it overall

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Nov 06 2025

It was a fine album, no takeaways from me

Smokers Delight by Nightmares On Wax
Nov 07 2025

Really like it, might just be hitting my mood but good background chill music. I won't listen to any of these on the regular, but really enjoying listening to it while working.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Nov 10 2025

Good album, had some takeaways to put on my Classic Rock playlist. I enjoyed this one

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Nov 11 2025

I thought I had listened to this album start to finish, but I don't recall a lot of this. Really enjoy rap music that includes instruments (pretty sure I've heard flute and saxophone). So much of a chill vibe. It's times like these I'm often reminded I like the less popular rap songs, the most popular ones on this album I've heard, but they aren't my favorites.

Phrenology by The Roots
Nov 12 2025

Definitely feels early 2000s, I never liked this era of music. I can't tell if it's because it doesn't sound quality (well-done/well-recorded) or if it's just the vibe of how the music was then. Especially as it relates to rap and hip-hop music. Not for me.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Nov 13 2025

Really did not enjoy this album. This might be the least favorite one from this experience so far. Just does not sound good at all.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Nov 14 2025

Honestly, it was fine? Not a big fan, but didn't hate it. No takeaways

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Nov 17 2025

I expected this album to stick out a lot more to me given the popularity of some of the songs on it, but honestly it was just fine. Nothing memorable for me.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Nov 18 2025

Enjoyed this album more than I expected. Songs are light, fun, and have good energy. I won't be listening to them outside of this, but enjoyed it still.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Nov 19 2025

Not a folk music fan, I didn't hate it, but also not my thing. I can see why other people would like it. Also sounds good being from the 60s.

Nov 20 2025

Not seeing the appeal of this album at all. I may also just be a 90s music hater. Really did not like this, would never listen again in my life

Sulk by The Associates
Nov 21 2025

This was an odd one, definitely different, but not something I enjoyed really at all.

Dummy by Portishead
Nov 24 2025

Not bad, but also not for me. No takeaways and won't listen to this again

The Band by The Band
Nov 27 2025

Not bad, don't have much to say, it was decent, but nothing caught my ear.

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Nov 28 2025

Interesting and unique album, I won't be listening to any of these again very likely, but I did enjoy the ride.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Dec 01 2025

I'm honestly not sure why this album seems so popular. Did not enjoy it for myself. Wasn't awful, but also nothing special

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Dec 02 2025

Lots of popular songs on here, didn't realize this was so packed. I do like this, and have some of these saved.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Dec 03 2025

Really fun listen, great all the way through. Great flow and listen as an entire experience. Really enjoyed this.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Dec 04 2025

The sound is quality, and it seems upbeat. Feels like an album I should enjoy, but honestly not really a fan. I think it's because the songs sound the same the entire way through with seemingly little variation. Skipping through the songs and changing to different parts of them make them all blur together and sound like they have the same formula.

The Coral by The Coral
Dec 05 2025

Eh, not terrible but didn't enjoy it.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Dec 08 2025

Not bad, but no takeaways from me. Not my favorite, but it's interesting.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Dec 09 2025

Not the biggest Metallica fan, but tried to go into this with an open mind. Wound up coming out empty handed.

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Dec 11 2025

This is certainly unique and different, that's for sure. Was not a fan

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Dec 12 2025

It was fine, no takeaways for me.

The Doors by The Doors
Dec 15 2025

Pretty good! I had already known a couple of these. Nothing I'll listen to consistently but I can appreciate and enjoy it.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Dec 16 2025

Good album honestly, interesting and fun listen. Did take away a track, now curious to hear more from him.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Dec 17 2025

Great album, can definitely see why he was so highly touted. Holds up even today, was nice to listen to the album in its entirety as I haven't before.

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Dec 18 2025

It was fine, no takeaways but didn't dislike it

Different Class by Pulp
Dec 22 2025

It was fine, no takeaways for me and something I wouldn't listen to again

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Dec 23 2025

I liked this one quite a bit, it was different, but had a nice feel. All songs feel like they had a lot put into them. I won't take away any of these, but wouldn't be opposed to listening to the album again.

The Score by Fugees
Dec 24 2025

I've heard a lot of parts of these songs used in songs that came after them. I can see where it was an inspiration for things to come, but I didn't like it. Not a fan of rap from this time period, I wouldn't listen to any of these songs in my spare time.

Electric Music For The Mind And Body by Country Joe & The Fish
Dec 25 2025

Feels like a different yet familiar sound, I likely won't listen to this again, but I did enjoy it. Definitely something I can appreciate.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Dec 29 2025

Surprisingly new a couple of the really popular songs. Still very relevant to this day, but overall not a fan. Just didn't like hip-hop from this era. Think their couple of popular hits are very cool for their time for sure.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Dec 31 2025

Honestly enjoyed it more than I expected for hip-hop/rap in this era. It was good and has some things that seem to stand up today. I also like the softer songs in rap albums, which tend to be less popular. This had a couple of those.

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Jan 01 2026

It was decent, nothing stood out enough to me to listen again, but I didn't dislike it.

Nowhere by Ride
Jan 06 2026

Not my favorite, nothing memorable and wouldn't listen to it again. Not awful, but meh.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Jan 07 2026

It was decent, no takeaways from me but seems good. Hadn't heard any of the songs before.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Jan 08 2026

Not for me, not my type of music unfortunately

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Jan 09 2026

Not a fan personally. All feels very same-y and nothing really stands out. Almost feels more like a background noise album?

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Jan 12 2026

It was fine, no takeaways for me and nothing crazy. Wouldn't listen to it again, honestly.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Jan 13 2026

A little somber and slow for me. Not something I'd generally listen to, but it's not bad by any means.

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Jan 14 2026

Not for me, it was fine? Pretty low and slow and the singing felt uninspired.

Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby by Girls Against Boys
Jan 15 2026

Yeah, this was not it chief. Did not enjoy this at all.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jan 16 2026

It was fine, no takeaways from me, but I could see where people would enjoy this.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Jan 19 2026

Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. No takeaways to listen to regularly, but the album was an enjoyable experience. Very soft, the use of a variety of instruments was very appreciated. Felt unique and real, if that makes sense.

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Jan 20 2026

Album was fine, expected to like it more based on the listens it has, but nothing really stuck out. I wouldn't listen to it again and no takeaways. Didn't dislike it, but also was pretty meh on it.

Album was fine, nothing stood out to me. Again, this feels like it's super popular (or at least has been listened to a lot) and it was just meh for me. Didn't dislike it, but certainly won't be trying to listen to it again.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Jan 22 2026

It was certainly unique, especially for 1977. I liked the first song as background noise, but as the album went on it definitely lost me. Didn't enjoy the rest of it as much.

Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Jan 23 2026

Was a decent album. No takeaways from me and probably won't listen to it again, but I can appreciate it.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Jan 26 2026

It was fine, nothing stuck out to me although I had heard the Julio down by the schoolyard song before! I wouldn't go back to it, but I could understand why it's on this list.

Achtung Baby by U2
Jan 27 2026

It was a fine album. Didn't know U2 made Mysterious Ways! That was cool. I think that was the only song I knew from this one. No takeaways and not something I'd come back to.

Talking Timbuktu by Ali Farka Touré
Jan 28 2026

Eh, album was fine. Registered as music in the background, nothing I felt myself jamming to. Pretty meh on it.

It was enjoyable, I wish there was more to the scale, as I liked this more than the other 3s on this list, but not quite a 4. I'd have to say 3.5. Was fun, but no takeaways from me and I won't be coming back to it.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Jan 30 2026

I can certainly see why people would like this. The appeal is there and it's well-made, but it's just not for me.

Arrival by ABBA
Feb 02 2026

A classic, enjoyed this one. Have never listened to it start-to-finish before.

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Feb 04 2026

It seems like I love to hate on this era of music (90s to early 2000s), but honestly this was a nice surprise. I quite enjoyed this one. Nothing I'd take away, so probably not a 4? But 3.75 for sure, a 3 feels disengenuous.

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Feb 05 2026

It was fine, nothing special to me. No takeaways and nothing stuck out, but I didn't hate it.

Gold by Ryan Adams
Feb 06 2026

It was better than I thought it'd be. The first 3 songs really hooked me and it lulled a bit from there. Alright album, no takeaways from me.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Feb 09 2026

I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Wasn't sure what to expect going in but wow this was enjoyable. I had it in on the background and I think that was absolutely perfect.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Feb 10 2026

I thought the fact that I recognized the name would mean I was in for some surefire bangers, but honestly found the album leaving me feeling pretty "meh". Was not impressed and wouldn't listen to any of these songs again. Was not for me.

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Feb 11 2026

It was fine, nothing stuck out to me, but also wasn't bad. No takeaways from me and won't be coming back to it. 2.75

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Feb 13 2026

It was fine, nothing special. Good music to have on in the background but nothing I would regularly listen to.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Feb 16 2026

It was decent. I think I liked it more than the other Bob Dylan album I heard on this list so far. Wasn't anything I'd jam out to, but was fun at times.

Feb 17 2026

It was interesting, but nothing that I particularly enjoyed. Nothing stuck out to me and I didn't think anything was great.

The La's by The La's
Feb 18 2026

Enjoyed this a fair amount for not knowing anything about it. It was fun, even knew a song from it. Would potentially listen to again, but no takeaways.

Feb 19 2026

It was decent. I saw one of their most popular songs was on this album, but I didn't recognize it and it didn't stick out when it played. No takeaways from me and I won't listen to it again. It didn't seem like anything special.

Guero by Beck
Feb 20 2026

It was fine, nothing stuck out to me. Was fine having it on in the background, but nothing I'd go back for.

Feb 23 2026

It was a good album. Enjoyable to have on in the background and I knew a couple of these songs. Really enjoyed this.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Feb 24 2026

Not my type of music. Just overall wasn't a fan. I don't think I would've enjoyed this album even if I listened to it when it came out. Was just alright for me. Meh

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Feb 25 2026

Honestly wasn't terrible but definitely not for me. Didn't hate it, but also didn't enjoy it.

Feb 26 2026

Album was pretty good, I already knew about it and enjoyed the songs. It's funny, I really love Electric Feel, but I always thought a remix could make it even better. Fun songs and hold up even today.

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Feb 27 2026

Really did not enjoy this. I had the album on in the background while working and I was actively trying to block it out, but couldn't. I constantly would get interrupted by it thinking "What in the hell is that noise?" Just not good at all for me.

Mar 02 2026

Pretty good! I enjoyed this one. No takeaways from me or any bangers, but it was an enjoyable listen.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Mar 03 2026

Was a fun listen. No takeaways from me. I was surprised to see this labeled as "pop" music. Apparently I would've enjoyed pop music back then!

1984 by Van Halen
Mar 04 2026

It was a good album! Already knew around half of the songs. Didn't blow my mind, but was definitely fun. I don't quite want to give it a 4, but like 3.5-3.75

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Mar 06 2026

It was definitely different and interesting. No that I really enjoyed it. I didn't find myself jamming out to it at all, but I did find myself intrigued at the space noises in the album. Was a cool concept, but execution was pretty ok for me.

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Mar 11 2026

Honestly enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Surprised it came out in 2003. Could get into this and vibe to it while listening. Like a 3.5

Pink Moon by Nick Drake

Not for me, didn't enjoy this at all. Not my type of music. Wasn't horrible, but also wasn't anything I'd want to listen to again.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Mar 13 2026

Enjoy this type of music for sure. Didn't jam out to it as hard as I thought I would've, but enjoyed having it on for sure. Overall good and was fun.

Mar 16 2026

Great album. Artist is obviously controversial, and I haven't liked anything he has put out for quite some time, but definitely was innovative and unique. I really enjoyed the listen. I already knew many of the songs, but haven't listened to it all the way through. 4.5 stars

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Mar 17 2026

Wasn't crazy about it. It was fine to listen to, but not anything I'd listen to again.

Electric by The Cult
Mar 18 2026

It was fine, no takeaways from me, but they did have some that sounded familiar. Nothing crazy, but not bad by any means.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Mar 19 2026

Enjoyed this way more than I expected to. Great music to have on while doing stuff and always felt myself saying "wow I'm really digging this vibe". Very fun album, did not think something like this existed in 1996.

Mar 20 2026

Honestly fun to have on while doing stuff, I enjoyed it enough. Probably 3.5 stars, nothing stood out to me as exceptional

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Mar 23 2026

Mar 25 2026

Had so many friends love Tupac growing up, but never actually gave him a chance. This album came out in 1995? Crazy, I really enjoyed this. I would have been playing this on repeat if I had heard it then. I'm not sure what playlist to save these to, but wow there are a lot of great songs here I'd like to listen to again.

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott

It was... fine? Not for me, I didn't hate it or anything, but it also wasn't that interesting to me

Was a good album, I think my expectations were a bit too high here, I expected it to knock my socks off. It was an enjoyable experience, but no 5 stars here.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Apr 02 2026

I actually really enjoyed another song by her that I realized after I started the album. The album was interesting, different, and fun, but I didn't love it as much as I know I like some other stuff by her. I'm curious to check more of her stuff out, though. This will definitely put it more on the map for me. Album was decent, but not great.

Apr 10 2026

The last song in this one might have saved it, I found myself enjoying that one. But man, everything else, I just can't get into it. Not enjoying listening and most times his singing feels way off. Maybe that's intentional, but I'm just not liking it.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Apr 17 2026

Didn't hate it didn't love it, firmly in the middle for me, but I have to pay respect as there were definitely songs I've heard before and still used in mixes today. Definitely built the foundation for some songs that are still going to this day.

Abraxas by Santana
Apr 20 2026

It was fine, got really old and "samey" for me after a while. Also was this just mixed poorly? The harmonica was so loud and vocals so quiet at times that it was hard to completely hear everything. Pretty meh from me overall

Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon
May 01 2026

I thought this album had a chance right away, but the longer it went on the more it fell off for me. Did not enjoy it much at all. Pretty ok at best.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 04 2026

Crazy how many popular songs were on this album, had to be revolutionary at the time. Enjoyed it, but wasn't swept off my feet. Still have to give credit where credit is due, it was good.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
May 05 2026

As a chill listen I really enjoyed parts of this, solid like 3.75 for music just to have on.

Woodface by Crowded House
May 06 2026

Album was alright, definitely interesting, but nothing I'd probably come back for. I still enjoyed the ride enough. Like a ~3.25

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
May 07 2026

For how popular some of the songs seemed I thought I'd either recognize them or they'd stick with me, but nothing stuck out to me. It was a fine album, but nothing crazy and I wouldn't listen to it again.

In Utero by Nirvana
May 08 2026

This definitely seems like a popular album with popular songs on it. I also know the band, but even given all of that I just can't get into it. Not my thing, did not enjoy really at all.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
May 11 2026

It feels like blasphemy to say, but I wasn't that fond of this album. It was alright to have on in the background I suppose, but with a group like The Rolling Stones I thought it'd knock it out of the park. Was just fine for me, but no takeaways and I wouldn't listen again.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
May 12 2026

I thought the album was ok, nothing stood out, but wasn't bad. It was alright/meh overall.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
May 13 2026

Really enjoy music like this, so it's a soft spot for me. Enjoyed this album, was a fun listen. Would definitely listen to it again.

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
May 14 2026

Honestly didn't really enjoy this at all. Not sure I can call it bad, but wow was it something I wouldn't listen to. I don't inherently have a problem with slow music, in fact I enjoy a lot of it, but this just all felt very same-y and didn't really pop out to me. It felt like one flat, long track playing.

Kilimanjaro by The Teardrop Explodes
May 15 2026

It was fine? I didn't really enjoy it, but it was interesting. No takeaways and nothing I'd listen to again, but it was an intriguing ride.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
May 18 2026

I can't really call the album bad, but I didn't enjoy it. It all felt very same-y and nothing stuck out to me. Probably a 2.5 honestly.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 19 2026

Good album, enjoyed it all the way through and I already knew a few of the songs. Seems like a solid and pretty packed album.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
May 20 2026

A decent album, nothing stood out head and shoulders above the rest, but it was an enjoyable listen. No takeaways from me and probably wouldn't listen again, but definitely not bad.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
May 21 2026

Paul McCartney man, even when I don't know the songs or they aren't very popular it's just a joy to have on. Really enjoy what he does. Probably not my favorite album by him, but it's always a treat.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
May 22 2026

It was certainly an interesting album. Nothing "bad" necessarily, but also not super enjoyable. Nothing I'd listen to again, but I can see how this would be very unique for its time. It sounds like it was made well, I just didn't vibe with it.

Moondance by Van Morrison
May 25 2026

Good album, just solid all the way through. Enjoyed this quite a bit, although I don't know that I'll have any takeaways I'd definitely listen again.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
May 26 2026

I feel like I'm just against consensus on Beastie Boys. Not a fan of the vocal tone nor most of the songs. Not enjoyable to me or something I really want to listen to.

Done By The Forces Of Nature by Jungle Brothers
May 27 2026

Based on what others were saying this seems like a foundational album that paved the way for future artists, but man I struggled through this. Just did not enjoy it and can't appreciate it for what it was in its time. The production and quality just don't hold up today imo. I wouldn't listen to this again. Granted, this album wasn't available on Spotify when I tried to listen, so I was using YouTube. It's possible quality was just strictly worse there. It wasn't awful, but also not something I'd like more of.

Actually enjoyed this quite a bit. I really like music like this and seemingly from this era. Would definitely have it on again, but won't come back to it. Something like a 3.5 score

Rio by Duran Duran
May 29 2026

Really enjoyed this one, I had heard Duran Duran before, and apparently knew some of their songs, but have never clocked them or sought them out. I thought this album was really enjoyable.

Jun 01 2026

It was an alright listen. I do love this type of music, but wasn't overall a fan of this. I didn't hate it, but also didn't enjoy it as much as I do this type of music on average. It was fine, but I wouldn't come back to it. Probably 2.5-2.75?

B-52's by The B-52's
Jun 02 2026

The album was.. fine? Like a 2.5? It wasn't bad, but also didn't enjoy it in any way. Nothing that got me interested enough to really jam to it.

Jun 03 2026

The album was... fine? I mean for 1996 it was probably pretty interesting, but I'm not sure it holds up to anything now. I definitely didn't dislike it, but wasn't "wowed" either.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jun 04 2026

Album was decent, it was enjoyable and I can see how in the 60s this would've had some bangers. Feels ahead of its time or groundbreaking for sure. No takeaways for me and nothing I'd listen to again, but I can appreciate it.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jun 05 2026

The album was decent, I did know their most popular song on it. Not something I'd come back to and I didn't take anything away, but enjoyed some parts of it a bit.

Jun 08 2026

The album was fine, an interesting listen for sure. No takeaways, but definitely feels ahead of its time for a 1998 album. Also heard some sound bits that are used in more modern songs, so can definitely feel the influence there.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jun 09 2026

The album was decent, obviously "Take Me Out" was an insane hit. Great still today, but would've slapped if I heard it when it came out. It was enjoyable, but outside of that song for me it was just alright.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Jun 10 2026

Album was enjoyable overall. Not takeaways and nothing crazy, but I did recognize one of the songs. Very light and fun.

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jun 11 2026

Album was... fine. Nothing stood out to me and didn't really enjoy it that much. Wasn't bad, but also pretty meh. 2.5?

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
Jun 12 2026

Wasn't anything groundbreaking but honestly an enjoyable album/listen. Certainly still holds up for being released in the early 2000s. No takeaways, but was nice to listen to.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jun 15 2026

Overall not that big of a fan. It was fine, I guess? But honestly not something I want to listen to again, not even as background music. Probably a 2 if I had to be honest.

Jun 16 2026

Pretty enjoyable and seemingly different. Probably a 3.5? I already knew Knights of Cydonia (shoutout guitar hero), fun and unique listen.

Jun 17 2026

Just not my type of music. Didn't hate it, but it's just super slow, almost monotone, and blah. All songs blend together and it's honestly hard to tell when they transition. Not for me.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jun 18 2026

The album was fine, nice to have on, but no takeaways and nothing particularly caught my ear to jam out to. Didn't dislike it, but wasn't loving it, firmly in the middle.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Jun 19 2026

Was just not a fan, it was alright? But like, really would not want to listen to this again. 2.25-2.5?

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jun 22 2026

Album was fine, didn't love it didn't hate it. Nothing stuck with me, but also nothing stuck out as bad to me. It was fine to listen to.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jun 23 2026

The album was decent, enjoyed some parts of it, nothing I'd come back to but it was fun. Solid 3.5

Leftism by Leftfield
Jun 24 2026

Album was a fun listen. It's a type of music I actually do enjoy having on in the background quite a bit. Probably 3.5? Very surprised it came out in 1995, definitely feels ahead of its time. But I don't think I can give it a 4 or above just because it wasn't anything that blew me away or that I'd listen to actively.

Jun 25 2026

The album was fine, nice to have on, didn't dislike it, but nothing caught my ear and wouldn't come back for more, but it was definitely interesting.

Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz
Jun 26 2026

Enjoyed this more than I expected, no specific takeaways, but it was definitely a fun listen. I'd say not quite a 4, but 3.5-3.75 territory?

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Jun 29 2026

Album was fine, nothing crazy and no takeaways, but definitely not bad!

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Jun 30 2026

Good album, I don't think I have any takeaways, but I could see really enjoying this one again. Fun to listen to and some good songs on there for sure.

Club Classics Vol. One by Soul II Soul
Jul 01 2026

The album was.. interesting? I didn't really enjoy it, but didn't necessarily dislike it? Firmly in the middle for me, it was fine, 2.5?

It was a fun album, but nothing crazy for me. Probably in the 3.25 territory. Fun listen, no takeaways, and probably wouldn't listen again.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jul 03 2026

This album was... fine? No takeaways, not a particularly enjoyable listen but also didn't dislike it. Had some interesting parts and was interesting enough.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 08 2026

Was definitely a different album. "Heroes" was great, the other stuff was fine? No problem with it being on in the background, but definitely not something I'd choose to listen to actively? Fun, but I can't give it a higher rating just because 1 song was great.

Close To You by Carpenters
Jul 09 2026

Pretty pleasant listen. No takeaways, but was kind to the ears. Not my type of music to jam to, but was pretty good. 3.25 maybe?

Jul 10 2026

I mean the album was pretty upbeat, but that's about all it had for me. It was kind of crazy, I could skip around to different points in songs and honestly feel like I was in the same spot I left. They all felt very one-note and they were all so long that it felt like it dragged on with a lot of the same. Not really a fan.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jul 14 2026

I mean it was... fine? Nothing special, especially for the popularity of some (at least one) of these songs. Nothing I'd listen to again, and didn't particularly enjoy it, but it wasn't bad either?

Elastica by Elastica
Jul 15 2026

The album was alright, neither here nor their. Didn't jam to it, didn't hate it. Firmly in the middle.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Jul 16 2026

I could see where this album was foundational. Wasn't anything crazy for me, but did have a song I knew and definitely seems ahead of its time. Was an enjoyable listen, but no lasting impression on me. 3.25 ish?

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jul 17 2026

I feel like purely based off of the fact that I know a good amount of songs in this album it needs to be rated above the average. This album made a lot of waves when it released, it was everywhere. Absolutely a defining album and paved the way forward. I'd say 3.5 because it's personally not my thing, but I can appreciate how massive it is/was.

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Jul 20 2026

Enjoyed this quite a bit, was very nice to listen to. Deserving of 4 stars I'd say.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Jul 21 2026

The album was fine? Nothing really stuck out to me, in a good or a bad way. I'd say middle of the road, no takeaways for me.

Album was fun, no takeaways and probably wouldn't listen again, but it was enjoyable. Probably 3.25

Album was fine, nothing crazy but nothing bad. Firmly in the middle, no takeaways from me.

Album was a fun listen, a bit all over the place in a good way. Song titles get interesting. No takeaways from me though. Solid 3.5?

Stankonia by OutKast
Jul 28 2026

The album was... fine? There was a couple that I knew, but honestly not a fan overall. Also the ones I know were never great songs to me, but were catchy. This does feel a bit special for the time period, but I'm not convinced it holds up.

Microshift by Hookworms
Jul 29 2026

Must not be my type of things. The music was fine, I guess, but wasn't very interesting. It felt like it was being weird for the sake of being weird, didn't sound very good. It's firmly in the middle, fine to listen to, but not memorable in any way.

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Jul 30 2026

Definitely not for me, wasn't a fan. All sounded about the same throughout the album honestly. Nothing stood out or grabbed my attention to listen.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Jul 31 2026

Album was... fine? Certainly nothing special, didn't like it much. maybe 2.5? It wasn't bad, but it wasn't enjoyable really either.

xx by The xx
Aug 03 2026

Funnily enough the first song without any words is the most popular. Really great intro that gets me hyped up only for the rest of the album to fall kind of flat imo. Just not my kind of music I guess, almost difficult to hear the vocals over the track. It wasn't bad, but left me feeling pretty underwhelmed.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Aug 04 2026

Definitely a fun listen, can see why he made such a splash over the years. Just enjoyable throughout. Also knew the first song. No takeaways that I'll be listening to again, but I can definitely appreciate it.

Be by Common
Aug 05 2026

Honestly enjoyed this more than I expected given the release date and not knowing the artist. I'd say solid 3.5. It was fun, felt distinct and had a great flow. No takeaways, but definitely enjoyable.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Aug 06 2026

Fun album, only recognized one song and no takeaways, but still genuinely fun to listen to. I was trying to put the blinders on and not just give name recognition, but I do like this enough to say 3.75 range.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Aug 07 2026

Very fun album, knew a few of the songs. Very upbeat and just fun to listen to. Easy 4 stars, probably 4.25. Didn't absolutely blow me away, but I did like it a good amount.

Hotel California by Eagles
Aug 10 2026

Great album, only knew a song or two, but was an enjoyable listen all the way through. 4.25-4.5 range? Fun listen, great songs throughout.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Aug 11 2026

Honestly expected to enjoy this more at the outset, but it was... fine? Nothing that special to me honestly. I knew a song or maybe two, but I don't particularly enjoy them. I'm sure it was foundational, but I was pretty meh on it.

Lost Souls by Doves
Aug 12 2026

Album was definitely interesting, didn't dislike it, but also took nothing away from it. Firmly in the middle, it was decent, but not a standout for me.

Olympia 64 by Jacques Brel
Aug 13 2026

Definitely harder for me to appreciate this, I feel like I can't even provide a good faith review because I don't understand it. However, the sound is nice, I did enjoy having it on. It was certainly different. I feel like I'm just going to go middle of the road for this one, but there's not a lot of weight behind it.

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
Aug 14 2026

Honestly was pretty enjoyable. Something like 3.5? I don't have any takeaways and probably wouldn't come back to it, but it was a good listen. Very fun and definitely seemed like it'd be unique for its time.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Aug 17 2026

Was a fun listen, and to cap it all off with "Riders on the Storm" at the end was a treat! I didn't know any of the others, but they were all good listens. No takeaways besides the last song, so probably a 3.5 as an album overall. Good, not great.

Fragile by Yes
Aug 18 2026

Honestly really fun album. Roundabout to start it off set lofty expectations, but that's not their fault. Rest of the album wasn't at that level, but still very enjoyable and a good listen. Firmly 4, if not a smidge more.
