Rating 6. Solid album, but nothing memorable after the title song.

Surprisingly, a solid 8 for me. I'd listen again.

7/10. Stevie Nicks's songs are luminous, but otherwise, I'm not hearing much that's interesting. It's hard to go wrong with Fleetwood Mac, but why this album instead of the self-titled album?

I like the jazzy tracks, interesting sounds, acoustic instruments on some songs, and the guys' sense of humor. But I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it again. Good stuff, but not my taste. 6/10

Not my favorite Springsteen album, but it's a classic for a reason. It's worth the price of admission just for I'm on Fire and Dancing in the Dark, not to mention Cover Me. 9/10

Alice in Chains definitely has its own sound, but once you've heard one song, you've heard nearly all of them. Would? and Rooster are the only two interesting songs, and Would? is the only one I'd listen to again voluntarily. 4/10

Meh. Nothing special. The singer's voice grew more and more annoying the longer the album went on. 3/10

I generally enjoy Steely Dan's jazzy vibes and vocal harmonies, but I'm not a fan of this one.

It grew on me with a second listen. No rest for the wicked.

What a great discovery! During the first few songs, I couldn't tell what decade I was listening to. He incorporates great sounds and techniques from multiple eras and creates a timeless album. Funk, jazz and gospel inspired, with beautiful vocals and dreamy soundscapes.

Aside from a couple of songs, I don't find it memorable.

A very comforting album. Maybe it's the acoustic guitar and harmonica, but I see myself sitting by a fire pit in the desert with a glass of red wine in hand, listening to this album.

This album is pure fun.

Easy listening, but interesting enough to go back for more. Vocals reminiscent of Cocteau Twins.

90's Britpop. Obsessed with sex and infidelity to a boring extent.

A solid 1970's rock album, but it feels like others have done the same things better. There's nothing special or memorable about it.

Ska is blah, imo. The vocals are nothing special either.

This is a fantastic album that rewards a listener with a good set of headphones. Muti-layered with interesting sounds. There's lots to admire here, both musically and lyrically. The lyrics for Fell on Black Days are poetry. Spoonman is great fun and has an interesting time signature. There are many great songs, like Fresh Tendrils and the title track, that were never released as singles too.

An album that feels like a dream of a long lost home. You can really hear the Irish influence.

The thing about Bob Dylan, yes, he's an amazing song writer. Legendary. But he's got an annoying voice and an annoying harmonica. There are very few Dylan songs I like or can even stand to listen to. And none of them are on this album.

You can't go wrong with a classic Prince record. This one came out just before he reached his pinnacle with Purple Rain.

A sadder, more thoughtful Chrissie Hynde.

I admire her, but this is more challenging than I like my music to be. It's like a cross between Bjork and Les Mis. Too experimental electronica for musical theater, too musical theater for experimental electronica.

The albums before and after this one, Blue Lines and Mezzanine, seem like more complete visions. I like some individual songs (Karmacoma, Sly) and always love Tracy Thorn's and Nicolette's vocals, but too many tracks seem like rejects from Blue Lines. I think 1001 albums should keep Blue Lines and Mezzanine and let this one go. It's not Massive Attack's best work.

OK, it's a solid pop album. And?

Where has this album been all my life and why am I just now discovering it? When I was a kid, I saw the heavy metal album covers, thought they were creepy, and avoided the whole thing. People just talked about how it was satanic and about Ozzy biting the heads off birds and whatnot. Nobody ever told me it was actually good music, even without all the theatrics.

The music is all right, I guess, but I can't really listen to it because I know how he abandoned his son (who at the end of the day was the superior musician). I can usually separate the art and the artist, but not here. I'll leave it to others to analyze it.
