A beautiful time capsule
Classic
Heavy bass!
Smiths are not my jam but I do appreciate them
Hell yes
No thanks but appreciate this time capsule for what it is!
A beautiful audio postcard
heavy, dark, moody. genre creating. xo
A perfect album for smooching in the dark and cuddling
Wasnt entirely sure why I hadnt listened to SFA when the britpop boom was happening but now I know i wasnt missing much.
quintessential blue-eyed soul. love any song under 3 min that is so sonically expansive. Adele's predecessor by nearly 50 years. I'm Gonna Leave you is a highlight
core memory of seeing this tape in my dad's collection. next to his stereo setup in the living room that lived in the enormous media cabinet. Overall Wish you were here is the highlight, the rest of the album is less memorable. But Shine on you Crazy diamond is fun and expansive
this is not for me. thank you please.
All the bangers, all the lungs, straight up sanging
A beautiful bridge for what was to come for them post 1965! A top favorite of mine
So fun. Did not realize what an impact this album had on so many of their contemporaries. Franz Schubert is the highlight here
Not really my jam - rip it up is the star here but the rest is kind of forgettable
just perfect.
A definitive r+b 90s moment. But not her strongest album
Beautifully orchestrated - and feels very lead gray skies/Irish. Vocals give pogues vibes a bit.
Less good Oasis
Beautiful
Definitely a moment and pushed pop punk forward before it was ever called that
I can appreciate the Pogues but this aint really my jam. too much hurdy gurdy and tin whistles i suppose.
I LOVE STEELY DAN.
I love a 50s baby bop. the OGs of blue eyed soul.
this recording of this performance is a gift. this is a perfect concert. perfect music. dylan at his most powerful.
This is ok - TVOTR never really stood out to me for whatever reason.
Hell yes. Thank you glam rock.
This is ok. Definitely a time capsule
Moody, ethereal, with far reaching influence that still feels relevant
definitely very 80s in moments, but stand out, timeless moments. Kate Bush walked so Tori Amos and all the Lilith babes could even be.
u2 is just not for me.
overall this is fine and good but makes me want to listen to Kamasi Washington and Sly Stone more than anything
a britpop classic
i love this album. timeless.
reminds me of hot topic in the Mall of America and music videos and James Iha. Peak 90s nostalgia here
not for me thanks!
yessssss
i am loving this. i love a direct and clear artist's message and such a strong vision behind the album. definitely feels like performance art and less like a typical "album"
Well ok now! Lol
Hell yes
As much as I bow to Chrissy H and her trailblazing, this album is...boring.
always fun to encounter something completely new. some great moments and some meh.
weird and perfectly 1968 - a good reference for my friends king gizzard
knew the name but have never listened to them. very 90s alternative
Kick push! Daydreaming!
total bangers.
Elvis and Leonard cohen
i mean this is a masterpiece. it doesnt do a ton for me but it's amazing.
Amazing and perfect. Timeless
a few bangers but as an overall album, no thanks
this is a perfect album that im so kind of torn up about loving. frozen in time, it is perfect. in retrospect, less so. Also minus one star for the reissue with all the rearranged songs
This is so boring
Hell yes
Heart of glass is the jam
It's very 90s Brit pop!
Perfect
L.A. Woman and Riders on the Storm are perfect songs - the rest of the tracks dont add (or take away!) much from the Doors canon.
i totally get that this was a MOMENT, but not my jam
fun!
a universe away, wow.
So good!!
Perfect for an interstate drive
I loved this and will be listening to it at least 2 more times
what! this is so fun!
essential drum and bass 90s vibes. so reminds me of vintage clothing and r
INTO MY ARRMMZZZ
Ooh hell yes
ok - this was a fun surprise and far more timeless than i imagined
oh yes, this is great. introduced the kids to J5 and now they sing along and request songs
what is this? no thanks.
this is ok - the music/songs run together but her vocals are incredible.
honestly, the eagles do nothing for me. they're background music in a drs office.
80s rock classic - feels mostly dated now. but stipe's voice is an earworm for sure.
this is fine and fun but doesnt feel new or an improvement on elton, bowie, or t-Rex
i love this album, it is so fun. to have this much energy with live music is incredible
man i just cant stand morrissey.
yesss. cant believe this was 1990!
Fema is of Fela so of course I love this
unreal good - the perfect grunge album. I think even over nevermind
A heartbreaking album, her voice is so haunting and you can hear the anguish in it
i mean, pop is pop and this still sounds relatively fresh
weird dude, weird album
alright now. <3
country joe feels familiar and doesnt sound fresh but that's because i feel like so many borrowed so heavily from them. major respect.
this is so damn great. It took me way too long to get into Kendrick but i'm having so much fun exploring the albums.
loud, thumping, hypnotic - feels good on a grey cold spring day and rises to meet the political mood, building, rising, fading but never quite fulling spilling over. got me in the mood to workout.
not the strongest Gilberto album - def seem to prefer Joao.
Very similar to tommy. Rock operas are meh for me
wild, loud, fun
this is such a jam that i total slept on. still sounds real fresh
SLEDGEHAMMER IS MY JAM. In your eyes is also lovely. But the album as a whole doesnt do much for me.
Pretty boring as a whole
Well I was a Jr in high school when this came out and I was completely and fully obsessed with it. I think Radiohead may be the first band I loved fully because of the music and not because there were cute dudes in it which meant I fully focused on the music itself.
this is incredible.
more of a jam than i anticipated
fun and fast and just dudes
some jams some not
oh this is a perfect album. 5/5.
A moment that was not for me
some one offs but America is perfect
i love the energy and i wish i could have been there
holy sheet - i hadnt made time for this previously. i am so glad i had time to listen to this twice, back to back, without interruption. it is an incredible, cohesive album and reminds me a lot of Solange's A Seat at the Table.
I liked it but it didn't have anything that blew me away
I like PJ as a principle. This album is a time capsule and was fully like 7 years ahead of its time. But not something that would call me back to revisit it regularly
Oh Janis. ❤️
sonically not too different from anything Janis did solo
90s alt pop-rock movie b-roll soundtrack
nice and passive
no. hard pass. slipknot is far more interesting.
coming from limp bizkit to this is quite the pivot. but i love this album and i love this era of bob dylan.
some solid tracks about the end of WWI
feels raw, close, personal, exploratory
it doesnt get any greater than jazz police. but for real tho, I'm your man is so classic leonard cohen- so sexually poetic, raw, and beautiful. the arrangements are dated but the theme and lyrics are timeless. listening to this makes me lament the degradation of loss of great lyrical poets - father john misty is the only current artist i listen to that writes anything that approaches this level of poeticism.
fun. she is such a badass - always unafraid and authentic. speaks to the 80s kiddo who loves punky brewester
ok jazzy jam fest!!
Sonically so beautiful. Shocked that this is so far into his career - I always underestimate how early he started
Really mid
A masterpiece and a personal favorite. Side B forever
feels so young and fun - they were still getting along and enjoying making music together. doesnt have the angst and anger of the S/T album
an absolute person favorite - perfect for warm weekend mornings
liked it more than i thought i would - easy to have on as background
i honestly like this album - it felt so celebratory at the time. like RHCP were all clean and fully whole again. Frusciante is such a differentiator for them sonically and spiritually.
This feels so 1999 optimistic and groovy
honestly, peak pop that pushes subcultures forward and moves the edge
when i first listened to this album when i was like 10, i thought this was the trippiest most experiment thing ever.
i love this album so much.
didnt do much for me! early 90s club
Liked this a lot!!
A masterpiece
the specials are fun and historical and etc but dont really scoot my boot
well alright! grindcore had to start somewhere and i appreciate that it exists but its not for me
i love this album, and loved it so hard when it first came out. it feel deliciously timeless
is this the ultimate summer album??? i think we may have it folks!
this band really does nothing for me. have tried this and boy with the arab strap multiple times.
This is ok - I loved the first AF album and then felt like they swung so hard into indie schlocky campiness.
So good. I hadn't listen to DJ shadow in St just 15 years. This was a lovely reminder of how great he is
I love this album - it is so damn catchy, timeless and also nostalgic.
some of the most beautiful songs ever written - within you, without you, she's leaving home, getting better, lovely rita, and of course, a day in the life. perhaps the most cohesive songwriting between paul and john
not my favorite but fun and definitely of its time
similar to yesterday - fun and def of it's time. it definitely made me marvel at how far and sophisticated hiphop has come in terms of beats and melodies
This is beautiful
i was obsessed with this album when it came out and thought it was so beautiful and confessional. I felt like Richard's pain and struggle with his addiction was so clear. It still holds up and it was a lovely trip back to that time in my life as well.
I love this album and it is perfect
I wanted to shit on this because of what Coldplay turned into but reflecting on who they were when this was realized, it still holds up. It feels reflective, personal, and intentional. Not selling me on some global message or some characterized version of themselves.
a perfect rock album that a billion others have tried to emulate
good but not as good as my aim is true.
better than i remembered after a few re-listens. i think i was just salty with him for ending the band in such a big way only to come back less than a decade later and start non-stop touring again.
i absolutely love this. 5/5
Much better cohesively than I thought/remembered!
Fun, breezy. Feels like it was forever ago but also still fresh
