Popular Reviews

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades

I loved it at first… and then I found myself wanting to change the station. I guess I like my salsa like I like wasabi… just a touch. 2.7

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears

80s music is usually not my jam… but Tears for Fears is one of the few exceptions. Such a solid album, so many hits. Right when Everybody Wants to Rule the World comes on… all the feels. 4.5

1-Star Albums (7)

All Ratings (193)

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Jan 19 2026

Maybe it’s because I havn’t listened to piano music in awhile, but really enjoyed the listen.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jan 20 2026

Not everything Dylan touched was gold…

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jan 21 2026

Arguably the 5th or 6th best Stevie album…. But it’s still Stevie. 4/5

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Jan 22 2026

Great album… but trying to be judicious in the rankings. Very solid 3/5

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Jan 23 2026

100/10. RIP D’Angelo. So smooth, so cool. He was on my list of artists I have wanted to see for a long time and never made it happen😢

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 24 2026

Beatles are one of the biggest bands ever for a reason… but not one of their best albums. 3.5

Dust by Screaming Trees
Jan 25 2026

It’s fine. Was never a huge Screaming Trees guy…

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Jan 26 2026

I really like live albums… but cheap trick isn’t there to off my list. Need to be in the mood for them.

Harvest by Neil Young
Jan 27 2026

Classic album and huge influence on a lot of acts I like.

Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
Jan 28 2026

Enjoyed the album, but not in the regular rotation.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Jan 29 2026

I get down with it. Fun beats and vibe.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jan 30 2026

That vintage sound is money… but still only a 3/5 but me

Different Class by Pulp
Jan 31 2026

Didn’t do it for me today. Almost too apathetic.

Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Feb 01 2026

Super fun, but have to be in mood. I remember having a fishbone shirt when I was younger (like 8), but had no idea who they were.

Revolver by Beatles
Feb 02 2026

Enjoyed the hits. Not a five, but close.

Feb 03 2026

Iconic album … but only a 4 four for me. It’s not that I don’t like it… I just find myself skipping some songs.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Feb 05 2026

Love Bowie… but this wasn’t my favorite album of his.

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Feb 06 2026

Love this album… no skips. Whenever I talk about a top albums, this one comes up. Full 5/5.

The Score by Fugees
Feb 07 2026

Really solid album. Really liked it for a long time. It embodies that hip hop soul sound of the time.

White Ladder by David Gray
Feb 09 2026

I really like David Gray… cool voice with good instrumentals behind him. Sold 7.5/10

Smash by The Offspring
Feb 10 2026

Liked in high school but doesn’t have the staying power as other albums. Probably just under a 3.

Feb 11 2026

I have never done a deep dive on Genesis… although maybe I should (although I listened to other stuff on different albums and liked them more…) solid 3.

Third by Soft Machine
Feb 12 2026

What was that hot garbage? Ok, maybe hot garbage is a little harsh. In the right mood that might work… but I was not in the mood to go all experimental prog jazz today. Only a 1 😬

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Feb 13 2026

Love this album. It’s just an amazing ride through a chill guitar dad rock. Full 5/5

The Cars by The Cars
Feb 14 2026

I like the cars… but they are not I regular rotation. Good background music.

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Feb 15 2026

Didn’t love the singers voice. Tunes had a nice beat. Probably won’t revisit anytime soon.

25 by Adele
Feb 16 2026

Best singer I have ever seen live. This album is a masterpiece and really live everything she puts out. Full 5/5.

Is This It by The Strokes
Feb 17 2026

One of the coolest sounding rock bands. Two days in a row with full 5/5 albums.

The Stooges by The Stooges
Feb 18 2026

A crappy Rolling Stones… would enjoy in a small club… but not beyond that.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Feb 19 2026

I have really leaned into jazz lately and this hits just right.

Green by R.E.M.
Feb 20 2026

Solid 3.5. REM is one of those bands I liked in high school and still really enjoy. I really wish they would play live again! It’s a unique voice on top of solid instrumentals. Not REM’s best album, but a lot to like.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Feb 21 2026

His album Harvest is a 5… after the gold rush…a 2.5. He has a unique voice that, for me, only works on certain songs. This album has some… but just some.

Fishscale by Ghostface Killah
Feb 22 2026

I like a good rap album with skits. It’s nostalgic and can be clever. This wasn’t my favorite… but respect the artistry. 2.5

Feb 23 2026

Talking heads are a favorite (Remain in the Light is an all time album). This album has its bright moments… but also had a few lowlights as well. I’ll go 3.5.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Feb 24 2026

Don’t know if it’s because it’s a Friday and it is getting warmer out, but really enjoyed the listen. Much better than the other Dylan album. Solid 4

Feb 25 2026

Funky, groovy, and on YouTube because… you know, Spotify, so I had to stay engaged. Anytime an album makes you want to get up and dance… solid.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Feb 26 2026

Listening brought me back to Graceland… Elvis’ story is so complicated and sad… but I feel like 60’s Elvis was a little too canned. 3.4

So by Peter Gabriel
Feb 27 2026

I feel like the 80s are a bit of a hole in my listening habits, but maybe I should revisit. Really great album. There is a reason he is in hall of fame.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Feb 28 2026

He has such a deep catalog… liked it alot more than the previous album we reviewed. Fun experimental 70s album… sign me up.

Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp
Mar 01 2026

Good in the right setting… but not something I will revisit often.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Mar 02 2026

Solid album… didn’t blow me away, but enjoyed it. Solid 3.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 03 2026

Really enjoyed the album. Not the most sonically advanced record, but something about their voices and lyrics hits me the right way.

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Mar 04 2026

Did not expect to enjoy that as much as I did. Even had some jam adjacent psych rock… 3.9

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 05 2026

Is it bad if I rate this album a 3? Just average? Moments I really enjoyed, but felt disjointed at times… I’m a horrible person.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Mar 06 2026

100/10… one of my favorites bands of all time. Just the right amount of energy/funk/rock/hiphop/freedom. Also one of the most electric live bands out there. A true 5 gem.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Mar 07 2026

I’ll go 3.4…. Early electronic sounds that are fun for a moment, but no sticking power FOR ME (I capitalized “for me,” so don’t “at” me). I really want it to be cooler…

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Mar 08 2026

Never heard of this group before, but the voice was pretty recognizable. Of Albarn’s projects, blur and Gorillaz are far better (IMO) than this record. I probably like rocket juice and the moon more too… but don’t mean this album is bad… maybe will grow on me.

Mar 09 2026

Good synth fun… but not something I will revisit. It’s like art where you are like… that’s nice but not something I will seek out.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Mar 10 2026

Really dig this album. It’s fun, accessible and musically interesting. 4.7.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Mar 11 2026

Do I not like Bowie’s voice? Is that it? Other than some hits, I have not dug deep into Bowie. Most of these songs started with a decent groove and some sax too…Bowie’s voice didn’t make them better. (Although Fame is an absolute banggggger). 3.6

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Mar 12 2026

I really like Curtis Mayfield’s voice though.. and that funk. Going 4.1 on this.

Third/Sister Lovers by Big Star
Mar 13 2026

Kind of got bored… wasn’t horrible, but not feeling it.

Mar 15 2026

Felt a bit cheesy for me… couldn’t really get into it.

Mar 16 2026

Had not really dug into war other than their hits. That was a mistake and I ask for forgiveness. This group is rad.

Mar 18 2026

RIP Freddy. Queen is an amazing worldwide phenomenon. Not every song on this album is generational, but some generational ones on it for sure. 4.4

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Mar 20 2026

I’m not a huge 80s guy, but Jesus and the Mary chain are an exception. 3.6

Mar 21 2026

It’s wild something recorded in 1959 can still resonate. If that isn’t a testament of music I don’t know what is. 3.4.

Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson
Mar 22 2026

Honestly… could not get into it. Some songs were more NIN sounding and could get behind. But the rest felt less musical and more shock to me. 1.2

The Last Of The True Believers by Nanci Griffith
Mar 23 2026

I feel like this was a good get out of bed and start the day album. However, unlikely I revisit anytime soon. 2.8

Hotel California by Eagles
Mar 24 2026

70s rock at its finest. Tight band, fun songs, and lots of nostalgia. 4.3.

Mar 25 2026

Listened to this one twice. First time I did not like it… the second time I was more chill and really liked it. Prob go a 3 👏

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Mar 26 2026

So smoooooth and a great voice. I’m going to go 4.4.

Mar 27 2026

I liked this more than I thought I would. Have always thought Rod Stewart was cheesy, but this album was catchy and fun. 3.4

Devotional Songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Mar 29 2026

What was that… never heard of this artist and will probably not revisit… but that music had feeling and I appreciate that.

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Mar 30 2026

I listened to a ton of punk during my youth (still so if the mood is right). I love that it is so “bad” it is actually good. 3.6

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Mar 31 2026

I loved it at first… and then I found myself wanting to change the station. I guess I like my salsa like I like wasabi… just a touch. 2.7

Skylarking by XTC
Apr 02 2026

Felt… boring. Never heard of this group and might not again (sorry).

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
Apr 03 2026

Low key vibed with the pop star. Beautiful and dirty… going 4.0

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Apr 04 2026

Fight the power!!! Felt a bit repetitive at times, but solid 3.3

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Apr 05 2026

If I was cooler I feel like I would like them more… but not bad. 3.0

Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters
Apr 06 2026

I like the name of the group 😂. I vibe with some of the tunes (shout out take your mama)… but over all only going 2.2. Hard to really get into it.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Apr 07 2026

I was just talking about how the fleet foxes injected me with energy once… great chill but still upbeat album. Going 4.5!!

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Apr 09 2026

Didn’t do tons for me. I mean, it’s no pixies. All and all can only go 2.3.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 10 2026

At one point this was one of my favorite albums (along with the foo fighters self titled album). While it is still an absolute gem, has not had the staying power as other albums… 4.3

Apr 13 2026

One of the most underrated groups. So funky and fun. Some of their other albums are better, but a real solid 4.3.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Apr 14 2026

As long as I picture an angry man singing, then I like it. I’d say a solid 3.2

Apr 15 2026

Banger on top of banger on top of banger… unfortunately I really dislike the Gallagher brothers… but the album is a very quality 4.4.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Apr 16 2026

I’m here for it. The gritty synth, driving beats, blues riffs, and wacky Morrison vocals. 4.2

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Apr 17 2026

I feel like I’m at riot fest. Quality old school I don’t care rock. Solid3.4

Blur by Blur
Apr 18 2026

Song 2 is an absolute banger… rest of the album suffers because that is such a good song. 2.8

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Apr 19 2026

Not even a top 4 stevie album and still a very solid 4.5. One of the best. Dancing crying and contemplating here while watching volleyball. Takes you to a better world. Stevie!!!!

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Apr 20 2026

I know I’m supposed to like dinosaur jr more, but it has never clicked for me. Decent rock…but really only a 2.1 today.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 21 2026

When born on the bayou started, I knew I was in the right place. Proud Mary… yes! Could have done without the good golly Miss Molly cover… but love me some ccr. 4.4

Apr 22 2026

I listened to it twice, and both times I was like, I should really like this. It has all the elements of songs I usually like…. But I just don’t. 1.8

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Apr 23 2026

I love Paul Simon and Train in the Distance is my favorite tune of his. The rest of the album Is really good, but not great. Strong 4.1

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Apr 24 2026

I’ve tried to get into MBV before. I guess there is a reason I never could. Trying way too hard to be cool. I said it. 1.8

Be by Common
Apr 25 2026

Chicago’s own Common! Excited to see him on this list. So smooth and chill but at the same time insuring. 4.1

Songs The Lord Taught Us by The Cramps
Apr 27 2026

That was rough. The mix, the songs, the vocals… even the cover. If I never listen to the cramps again that will be too much. 1.4.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Apr 28 2026

Great early 2000s alt rock. Not the same staying power as some other albums of that period, but a 3.8.

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
Apr 29 2026

This is one of the 1001 best albums??? Musically I interesting at times, but no plans to revisit. 2.0

Sex Packets by Digital Underground
Apr 30 2026

When I first read it I thought it said Sex Pistols, clicked the link and the humpty dance came on… there was a real cheesy period of rap and this fit right in that. I can get down at times, but only a 2.3 for me.

John Prine by John Prine
May 01 2026

The story telling, the make you feel at home melodies, the whole package. 5 stars. Thank you John Prine!

Transformer by Lou Reed
May 02 2026

Will I get canceled if I say this album is very average? Cancel me… 3.0

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 03 2026

Crunchy bayou rock… hell yes. Album doesn’t have the huge hits, but it doesn’t need them. 4.2

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
May 04 2026

I feel like I would have liked this a lot more if I was a lesbian. I love Joni, but not feeling this album more than a 3.3.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
May 05 2026

80s music is usually not my jam… but Tears for Fears is one of the few exceptions. Such a solid album, so many hits. Right when Everybody Wants to Rule the World comes on… all the feels. 4.5

Tuesday Night Music Club by Sheryl Crow
May 06 2026

I bopped to this back in the day. I mean… I enjoy it. It’s not transcendent to me. But a solid 3.7

On The Beach by Neil Young
May 07 2026

Is he a great singer? No. Is the music complicated and clean? No. But this is just great mad old man music (even when he was young), and it has grown on me. 3.6

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
May 08 2026

Yooooo! Black Crowes are a bop. This album is fun, loud, and hits when the mood is right. 4.5

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
May 09 2026

If it’s going to that kind of party I’m gonna stick my dick in the mashed potatoes!! This brings be back to riding in the back of my friend’s truck to basketball practice after school and it still holds up. 4.8 love it!!

Moon Safari by Air
May 10 2026

I’ll be honest, never really gave air a good listen to before. That was wrong. Really enjoyed this! 3.4

Let It Be by The Replacements
May 11 2026

Was not in the mood for some wanna be rock stars (I might get hit by lighting). 2.1

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
May 12 2026

Yes this is long… but honestly could have been longer. I think I only knew my sweet lord… but sweet lord I need to listen to more GH!! 4.1

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
May 13 2026

I really liked this album when it came out. I still think Two Weeks is a great capture of the sound of that period. However, the rest of the album has not held up for me. Going to go 2.7 on this one. Not horrible, but a fading tribute to 2009.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
May 14 2026

I feel like Tobias on arrested development taking the $12 shuttle to the airport: excited at first but as it goes on and on and on… the more I want to get off the bus. 2.5

Suicide by Suicide
May 15 2026

If your name is suicide and your album is bloody you better bring it… but they did not. Ugh. Did I listen to an snl skit of someone trying to be cool but it was just unpretentious schtick? 1.1

Arrival by ABBA
May 16 2026

That was fun… I kinda turned into a theater kid for a bit and had a good time! 4.3

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 17 2026

I have never gotten into Elvis Costello… I feel like I am supposed to. Pretty average 2.4

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
May 18 2026

Was in an upbeat mood… and now I feel like a slug. It’s not bad… just blah-ish. 2.5

Odelay by Beck
May 19 2026

I loved this album in the 90s and I still love it. Some of it is experimental, but the thing about experimental music is the more you listen to it the more approachable it comes and it just becomes a jam. 4.4.

The Visitors by ABBA
May 20 2026

Not my favorite ABBA album, but middle of the road ABBA is still a good listen. 3.4

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
May 21 2026

Why do I know so many of these songs? And why are they catchy? And why do I keep bopping my head? Do I like Britney Spears? No I tell myself… it’s bubble gum pop… you love it. Still only a 3.8 though.

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
May 22 2026

That’s one of the greatest 1001 albums? Pretentious much?? 2

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
May 23 2026

If I ever find myself in a pub I am putting on cigarettes & alcohol and burning it down like a bad ass in a cool jacket and boots… album bangs. 4.4

Kimono My House by Sparks
May 24 2026

Was not familiar with Sparks, but I am glad I do now. I never want to meet them in real life, but if they were playing a festival I would check them out. 3.4

Tellin’ Stories by The Charlatans
May 25 2026

This came out in 1997… I was 17 and was deep into music and these guys didn’t even blip on my radar… and good… sooo, as the kids say, mid. 2.4

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
May 26 2026

Swoooon. Am I allowed to say that about Paul Simon? The music, lyrics, and even the voice. I even liked the blues tunes… 4.7.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
May 27 2026

More Paul Simon… fun two day run. Fun fact the high school choir sang bridge over troubled water at the recent graduation. Cecilia! Boxer! Going back to back 4.7s!

Eternally Yours by The Saints
May 28 2026

You know when a singer is so bad you actually end up enjoying it? It’s giving those vibes… for the first few songs and then it dies off. A bit of a temu ramones/stones. Didn’t hate it… but also not going to add it to the rotation. 2.7

May 29 2026

When I started it I really dug the music… but then the dude started singing … ugh… do not like his voice. What does Linda see in him? Is he hung like a horse? I don’t know… I don’t get it. There is a version on Spotify that included some live songs - those were the highlights for me. 2.8

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
May 30 2026

That’s a five from me. Musically it tickles my brain the right way. It just makes me smile and want to dance. I have lots of great memories of this album. I bought it in vinyl at amoeba in Hollywood, saw Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew play it in full in Chicago a few years ago, and recently saw David Byrne play some songs for this album. Everyone it just makes me want to smile and put on an oversized suit and dance. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

May 31 2026

Love me some Tupac. His flow and beats harken of a simpler time 😂 … but will say some of the harsher lyrics are a bit off putting in a weird way (where as in high school I was all about it 🤷) . Man I would old. Dear mama is an absolute gem. I’m going to go 4.4.

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jun 01 2026

Decent 90s rap… but just on in the background. Nothing jumped out as something I plan to revisit.. 2.4

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jun 02 2026

You make me feel so young comes on and I immediately tear up. What an absolute masterpiece. Can you imagine sipping on some whisky neat while this guy croons with a big band behind him? 4.7— loved listening to ol’ blue eyes

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Jun 03 2026

Did I listen to disc 2… nope, I value my dignity and worth. I didn’t know music could be this bad. The middle school band that practices by the town square blows these guys out of the water.

Infected by The The
Jun 04 2026

I previously said the 80s sound is not my vibe… with some exceptions (tears for fears being one of them). This is not one of those exceptions. It’s not horrible… but not my jam. 2.0

90 by 808 State
Jun 05 2026

Man… this was actually fun - in the weirdest way possible. A fun little surprise, but musically can only give it a 2.4 😂

Jun 06 2026

👸 Rock legends. Just an album you can put on and your broom becomes a guitar and microphone. 4.2

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jun 07 2026

You smell that??? That’s some funky shiiiit. Love love love this vibe. 4.5

Throwing Muses by Throwing Muses
Jun 08 2026

Eh… I really don’t know what else to say. I like hole more than this band. Hard pass. 1.8

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Jun 09 2026

Pleasantly surprised by this album. Totally transported me to a hip 1950s that is entirely created in my mind. 4.1

Fever Ray by Fever Ray
Jun 10 2026

I remember when fever Ray made a live comeback and people were excited. I was like, I don’t know fever Ray… should I? I did a bit of a dive and decided that was not for me. This album reaffirmed that feeling. 1.8

Dog Man Star by Suede
Jun 11 2026

Sorry… a couple tunes felt like the 90s hey day… the rest of the album fell flat for me. 2.4.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jun 12 2026

I feel like I to listen to listen album multiple times back in the day before I liked it… and then I loved it. Solid 4.3 for that Frank ocean magic.

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Jun 14 2026

I love me some Randy Newman… but in small doses 😂. I feel like if I listened to a song a day it would be higher… but going 3.0

Heroes by David Bowie
Jun 15 2026

Have I said I usually dislike the late 70s and 80s sound scapes? This is a huge exception!!! Bowie for president. 4.4

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jun 16 2026

Willie the pimp is a force to be reckoned with 😂 and I couldn’t explain why. He is so odd… yet still accessible. 4.1.

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Jun 17 2026

Glad to hear xtina is still dirty… I mean, girls got bops… not all super interesting, but fun pop fodder. 3.4

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Jun 18 2026

Damnit… more Randy Newman. It’s not a bad thing… but small doses of Randy are so much more enjoyable. Birmingham is a bop for sure… but sticking with 3.0

Signing Off by UB40
Jun 19 2026

I would like it a lot more if I was on a beach… but I’m not. 2.7

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jun 20 2026

Ok… maybe I do like 80s sounds and there are more exceptions than I thought. Money for nothing rips. Walk of life? Banger. Some tunes didn’t bring the same energy… but going 3.8

Third by Portishead
Jun 21 2026

Yikes… not feeling this today. Sounds like someone in a cardigan whining about putting 2% milk in their coffee instead of soy milk.

There's A Riot Goin' On by Sly & The Family Stone
Jun 22 2026

Ohhh yea. I feel like Kramer in. Pimp suit strolling through manhattan. 🔥🔥🔥

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Jun 23 2026

A true gem of an album. From chill to absolutely lose your mind… great great album. 4.5

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Jun 24 2026

I feel like it’s unfair for this to be right after the white stripes. It’s a solid solid rock album… but gotta go 3.4.

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Jun 25 2026

I love how something from the 60s can still sound super cool and relevant, even though it got a little tired at times. 3.2

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jun 26 2026

I was scared of this album before listening… 80s and by a band called Siouxsie and the Banshees 😬… and my fear was warranted. I thought melodically it was interesting at times, but could not connect with vocals or songs in total. 1.6

Debut by Björk
Jun 27 2026

I have always liked the idea of Bjork… but never dived into her discography. And maybe that’s for the better. Don’t get me wrong, I like avant-garde pop as much as the next guy… but found myself wanting to skip early and often. 2.1

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Jun 28 2026

80s sound again… but low key it was a banger. Gary Newman thank you for making the rare 80s synth pop album that doesn’t suck.

Jun 29 2026

I wanted to like it more… but leave the poor singing to Bob Dylan. I would see him live… but only For $10. 2.4

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Jun 30 2026

Hell yea!!! Pick up a keyboard and create a beat Using the factory settings to make a hit … Yes!! And the cartoon band members… it works. 4.1

Cut by The Slits
Jul 01 2026

Well… album cover caught my attention. The songs were simple and amateur … but not in a great ramones way. Eh.. 2.5

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jul 02 2026

I feel like there is better Depeche Mode… but album is not slouch. Didn’t have the big bangers. But a solid 3 (which is alot for an 80s album).

Protection by Massive Attack
Jul 03 2026

Massive wet fart… for some reason I thought I liked this group, but this album didn’t do anything for me. 1.8

Purple Rain by Prince
Jul 04 2026

This is a top album… 5/5 all day every day. I could sash-ay to the album all day.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jul 05 2026

Putting aside she married Travis Kelce and has never really scratched my itch… album is a banger. 4.4.

Ctrl by SZA
Jul 06 2026

SOS is such a better album… but was fun to listen to her earlier album. 3.3

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jul 07 2026

Karen O is so cool. That was such a great listen. 4.4

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jul 08 2026

Brought me back to high school with this one… although, I think I mentioned before, I sometimes cringe at the lyrics (which is weird since it isn’t a moral issue… just seems lazy 😬). But I still bop to this shit. 3.3

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jul 09 2026

WOW… every time I listen to this album it gets better. Sooooo many masterpieces. 5/5… no notes.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jul 12 2026

Could you imagine walking into a bar in the south with these guys ripping?? So good. Fogerty and gang are special. 4.3

Van Halen by Van Halen
Jul 14 2026

Holy hell… loud, titillating rock and roll. Put this in the air buds and I think my hair grew 12 inches. 4.4 🤘

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Jul 15 2026

I know for a fact that I’m not a hipster because I still think the Ramones are better than the dolls… but the dolls are still super enjoyable. 3.6

I have a love hate relationship with this album. Beautiful day, stuck in a moment, elevation… one of the best first three songs on an album… but then it fizzles for me. I get it, everyone hates u2 because they forced everyone to get their album on apple… but they have hits… just that the rest of the songs don’t do it for me. 3.0

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jul 17 2026

I don’t know what to say… I love it… but feel like Radiohead has so many other better albums. Hearing it with my noice canceling headphones certainly enhances the album. 4.1

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Jul 20 2026

One of Dylan’s better albums. A voice of a generation. 4.0

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jul 21 2026

When I saw this pop up, I thought instant 5… and after listening for the millionth time, I still agree. The only knock is his best song (imo <- that is how kids say in my opinion… weird I know) northern sky is in a different album. I found Nick drake in college, and the person who introduced me to him was kinda pretentious so I thought I shouldn’t like Nick drake, but I love his music. I revisit it often. Never gets old. His story is so sad… gone too soon. But sometimes those tortured have some of the most beautiful things to say. 5

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Jul 22 2026

Good indie vibes… but didn’t stand out. 3.0

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
Jul 23 2026

This was a mid tier album for me when it came out. I like it.. but don’t love it. Quality grunge area tunes… but there are better ones. Sorry Perry. 3.4

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Jul 24 2026

1967!!! This would go hard with the sad girls resurgence recently… but didn’t do much for me. But props for relevant music in 1967. 2.8

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jul 27 2026

That was sooooo smooth. That’s the kind of album cocktails were made for. 4.4

Jul 28 2026

Another album I didn’t love when it came out… and still doesn’t resonate with me (although I really dig doll parts). 3.2

Teen Dream by Beach House
Jul 29 2026

Nice dream pop indie… but got a bit bored. Could just be the day… but 3.0

Jul 30 2026

What’s up with all these 90s bands that were *shrug* in the 90s now being hailed as part of the greatest albums? It’s not bad… but nothing too special. 3.0

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jul 31 2026

Crosby… stills… and Nash? Yes please. I thought there were some stand outs, but kind of expected more. Still, 3.7

xx by The xx
Aug 03 2026

Intro starts out so solid… the whole album is… maybe I should have gone to their day at lolla?? I mean, I would have skipped Tate McKrae to see them. 4.3

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Aug 04 2026

I feel like Elvis Costello would take about how great paintings of soup cans are. 2.8

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Aug 05 2026

Everyday people is an absolute BANGER. Love the style and the vibe. 4.2

Calenture by The Triffids
Aug 06 2026

Yikes… 2 hours of 80s ballads. .8
