1001 Albums Summary

3 for me is middle of the road. I do like that it was all improve. lot's of fast paced movements and showing off his skills. Really helped as background music while play a board game with family.

Didn't love the style. or the Voice. seemed lazy. I know lots of people that love Bob Dylan. But I am not one of them.

Woof, So this is where the Whiny Emo bands got everything from. The lyrics from Add it Up? MAAAAYYY be a bit problematic... I used to think I was the kind of person that would listen to all types of music. This process has shown me that I absolutely do not listen to all types of music.

Very interesting, felt like i was playing GTA or watching an early 2000's movie. Not exactly my jam, but not terrible.

Needed that album. It was a fun listen. I do wish the rating system was out of 10 and not out of five. but what are ya gonna do. Just a nice rock album that I haven't listened to before. None of the songs stood out. Just the general vibe.

I actually really liked this album. I liked when it brought in the Orchestra. It's not the preferred album to listen to when going through a breakup... just saying. there's definitely some feels.

Maybe it's because I took percussion in high school. But man, those rhythms fucked me up in the best way possible. I would give it a 5/5. but I'm saving that for really special albums.

But this album made me rethink my whole life... Didn't even listen to the whole thing. I'm gonna go listen to some 2010's pop classics.

So, I liked the first song Blackstar, but the rest was kinda blah for me. This was made in 2016 and I don't know why it made the 1001 most influential albums? I feel like whoever compiled this list was a contrarian. Or maybe I've just been in my own echochamber of pop, rock, and dubstep. .... ah, I see that he died two days after the album released. Which shouldn't bump it up in the ratings right? But that's maybe what happened. 4/10

Very angsty, really fun. I don't know if I can listen to a full album of the Offspring. just a song or two. But it was fun to see a secret track at the end!

That was a BLAST. Exactly what I wanted from this list. It gave me good vibes like Styx, Boston, the classics. Really cool rhythms beats and just a vibe in general. I'll give this one a five star.

Ummm... Ok. Feels like you had to be there. It's got some good beats and some good moments. It's just so fucking long that I don't think that any of the songs will be in the rotation at any point.

I could see how this could be transformative and a necessary album if this was made in the 80's or 90's. But 2014?? This must just be the authors bias of the music tastes he likes. I swear, if we don't get one Taylor Swift album, I'm rioting.

Do I really need to listen to this album before I die? Probably not. It definitely didn't destroy rock and roll. And I could see how it would be transformative in the 80's or 90's. But having it come out in 2004.. there's so many better albums I could be listening to.

I dug the City, Country, City for the last little bit. but overall won't be listening again.

What an absolutely wild ride. TBH, I skimmed through a lot of them because I am trying to catch up and I know this album would take a lot to listen to and I feel like I got the jist. All of the collaborations? and Norah Jones at the end?? What a wild ride. I feel like for a lot of these albums, I would need to be in the right headspace and also grow up in the time and listen to the albums with friends to get the full experience. Not just blandly listen to them in my office with the blasted overhead lighting. But it was still alright.

The Prophet's song was a standout. Such a good album and bohemian Rhapsody just takes it to another level.

Skipped around, defintely wasn't my jam.

You Trip me Up almost made my ears bleed and I physically cringed while in my office while listening to this album.

I actually quite liked that. Not enough to give it a 4. But I really liked the Beautiful people. Also just goes to show societal views vs the actual music. and how we're all just humans trying to create cool shit and find meaning. Granted I haven't looked into anything in his personal life. But i know that maybe some sketchy stuff is in there?

Could be good background music and if I'm in a really chill mood for reading or something. But didn't grab my attention fully.

One of my dad's favorites. And I can clearly tell why. What a banger.

Weird, Schottkey 7th path has some Subtronics feel that he might have sampled from. But... forgettable and also background music.

Very good, but It didn't have Eleanor Rigby, we all live in a yellow submarine, or some other classics. definitely loved the album and they're the beatles for a reason. But I can't give it a 5.

Certified bangers, I can’t rate it a five because sometimes his voice is grating, but the hits are absolute hits.

I really thought that I would like this album more because Christina has an incredible voice. But I was just left wanting more. Sure, there were some jams. but I'd rate this a 6.5 or 7 /10. which is still in the 3 range.. I did save Dirrty tho.

God, this rocks. Usually, I wouldn't like his voice, but this album absolutely slaps and I needed to add Around the World immediately to my liked songs. The bass and the drums also really get me. Just a really good grungy feel that scratches parts of my brain.

Oh, I'm digging this. What a great listen on a Friday. The soul was palpable in this. 8/10.

I thought Sheryl Crow was country for some reason. But this is definitely not what I expected. Pretty good though.

... Yea, I'm a basic bitch. Each song takes me back and makes me feel things. I definitely had a crush on her as a kid. Her and Hillary Duff. But I'm pretty sure Hillary Duffs Metamorphasis album probably isn't here. So many of these songs are iconic and have lasted the tests of time. Baby One more time. Also, the Spotify Music video function is pretty fun.

That was a really fun listen. Yes, it was long, but I enjoyed the creativity and tubularness of the bells. :)

I feel like I'm listening to Lane's band in Gilmore girls. Sure, it can get the crowd going, and I feel like going to their concert back in their time would be a fun vibe. especially with the harmonica. But listening to is as an album just isn't it. I don't get his voice. And is this another europe invasion album? The guy that made this sure does have a certain taste.

That was a fun album. But I probably won't be revisiting it anytime soon.

Well well well, this journey has really brought out what I like and don't like in music. Whereas before, I thought I would say I'm much more of a rock/pop type person. But a lot of the rock albums on here, i've hated. haha. While I might not listen to this on repeat, the first couple of tracks were interesting. I know Tupac was shot, but I thought he died? Maybe he got shot multiple times? Maybe I'll ahve to look that up. But enjoyable!

Unlike Colton, I didn't like this album, but I am very perplexed why I liked the Tupac one and not this one? It might because it seems like these guys are just chilling and acting all tough. While Tupac seems like he had more passion and grit behind the sound? Interesting for sure. Also going through these two albums in the same day was a looot of rap for me.

Currently watching Mad Men and I feel like I should be courting a mistress wearing a fedora and smoking 2 packs a day. The song Making Whoopie? crazy.

After listening to Playing with Fire and some other terrible albums, I just didn't have the capacity to listen to this. Sure, there's probably some motif's that i'm missing and small things that I would pickup while listening to the full album. But I just couldn't do it today. Skipped around, and just sounded like another 80's synth rock/pop album. 2/10

Crack Roooook, how ya feelin? Definitely an interesting album, and I don't hate it. Don't think i'd revisit it. but if I had to, I could listen to it again. I like his voice and the chill vibe.

I don't know if I needed the second disk. But those first couple of songs really hit on a Monday morning. I know I love big band. and I think I'm going to give this a five even though it's probably more of an 8 or 9 out of 10. But I need to give credit when I really resonate with a piece. I used to always listen to Michael Buble's cover of You Don't know Me.

Unlike Colton, I did not listen to the lyrics intently. His voice does really remind me of Toy Story as well. I just can't see him popping off in 2026. No doubt he's talented and a different kind of voice and vibe. Which I think is a little sad that now there are formulas and algorithms to get the most out of musicians and thus people try not to be experimental or go off on weird voices like this. But with all that. I still rate this a 2.

Ummm, what was the last half of this album? Moss Garden? I really liked the other David Bowie stuff. But I'm not jammin' to this one. But I'll give it a 5/10

That bass player slaps, and it was kinda fun to hear him talk and use poetry as humor, like talking about how someone wanted him to dress nice and he used a lot of extravagant words. So I liked it more than I thought I would, even if he used some rapey phrases.

That was a very nice album. Probably the first one where the hype matched the music. I really loved the guitar rift at the end of Let's Go Crazy.

My lord and savior Taylor Swift has graced us with her presence and genius with this album. While I may be biased and definitely a fan of her work. I was interested to see what a full listen through of this album would do. Especially since I've listened to it so many times before. This is a no skip album for me. Even when the beats are a little bit more poppy and "girly", the lyrics hit you like a ton of bricks. This is the reason why she was inducted into the Song writer's hall of fame this past month. This album made me feel so many things while I was on my hike. I've heard it said many times that "If you don't like Taylor Swift, it's because you haven't needed her yet". So maybe with my past couple of years and relationships, and really understanding what she and so many others are going through just made this hit so much more. And being someone that's been in the public eye and so many rumors that this album is about Harry Styles, you can really see her yearning for someone that will stay and love her. My favorites are Out of the Woods, Style (That opening guitar rift always makes me ascend.), and honestly shake it off.

That was A LOT more sexual than I thought it was gonna be. A whole song about pussy, and about cheating. One of my Exes and her friends love SZA, and I can kinda see it? but not really my vibe. But I can see where some moods I would be into it.

Fun album! Definitely know heads will roll and that's mixed by a lot of EDM artists. Not my favorite, but could see why people like it.
