While I’m familiar with Black Sabbath and have liked the few songs I’ve heard before, this was my first time diving into a full album. Was genuinely surprised at how much I liked this given I usually am not a heavy metal fan. The guitar, drums, and even Ozzy’s voice all sound really good here. As someone who is a big rap fan I was excited to do a full dive into this. It was cool to see how future artists would sample this. The beats, instrumentals, and whole vibe of this album is very fun, but man their rapping style is mainly just yelling which can get old fast. The jams and riffs are good but even with the big hit songs, it all pretty much feels the same. Likes: Hells Bells, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long

This is hard because it’s basically 2 different albums and I like the first side a lot more. There’s still enough gems scattered throughout though to make this a worthwhile listen/experience. Having an album called Destroy Rock & Roll and then delivering an uninspiring, boring, bland album is certainly a choice.

A pretty basic album where Young really doesn’t sound that great here. Surprised this made the list given his lengthy discography. Likes: Over and Over; Mansion on the Hill

This was really nice! Ray’s voice and the instrumentals all work really well together to create a smooth sound throughout. Likes: Bye Bye Love; You Don’t Know Me; It Makes No Difference Now; Careless Love

Did I understand what was being said? No. Did that stop me from enjoying this record? Absolutely not! The horns, the keys, the drums, and the vocals all create this fun, engaging, and atmospheric listen. A really good example of music overcoming barriers. A pleasant album which seems to be very similar to that of The Beatles’ early albums. Not necessarily a bad thing, but nothing to rave about. Likes: You Told Me; I’ll Spend My Life With You; You Just May Be The One; No Time

The rabbit hole down YouTube to listen to this is well worth it. The keys, the flutes, Heron’s voice all work so well together to create a cohesive smooth still thematically relevant listen decades after its release. It’s not bad, it’s actually quite enjoyable I thought. My biggest issue is the consistency because it can’t seem to pick a lane when it comes to genres and it comes off as whiplash. Likes: The Whole Point of No Return; Me Ship Came In; My Ever Changing Moods; You’re The Best Thing

There’s few reasons in my opinion for an album to have a long runtime, and this doesn’t meet those exceptions. The first few songs were actually pretty enjoyable, nothing special, but good background music that blends together, but it starts to take its toll at When the Stars Go Blue. Underrated album from Led Zeppelin that does a great job of blending of rock, metal, and blues. Likes: Good Times Bad Times; Babe I’m Gonna Leave You; Dazed and Confused; Communication Breakdown; How Many More Times

Pretty standard British rock/pop. Not bad but nothing really stands out either. Likes: So Young; Animal Nitrate; Moving

Second generic Brit pop/rock band in a row. Same as before: it’s not bad, just not a whole lot that sticks with you. Likes: G Song; Cheapskate; You Can See Me

3rd British pop/rock band in a row, 2nd Beatles album so far. Definitely not The Beatles’ best, some good gems in there but overall, seemingly like most British pop/rock, very basic and middle of the road. Likes: All I’ve Got To Do; All My Loving; Till There Was You; You Really Got A Hold On Me

This is something I would like to be played in the waiting room for all my doctor appointments (good thing). Jazzy, relaxing, cool, and atmospheric. Likes: Smooth Operator; Your Love Is King; Hang On To Your Love; Cherry Pie

The more I listened to this, the more it started growing on me. I appreciate the smaller instrumental details and just the genuine quirkiness of it all. Likes: Our Prayer/Gee; Heroes And Villains; Cabin Essence; Surf’s Up; In Blue Hawaii; Good Vibration

As someone who grew up on late 90’s early 2000’s country, this was refreshing. The harmonies and the instrumentals work well together and embody the spirit of country way more than some of the more modern country. Even though you can’t beat some of these classics (even if they’re overplayed) and good riffs, some of this still feels stale. Likes: Welcome To The Jungle; Nightrain; Paradise City; Sweet Child O Mine

A weird, horny, and inconsistent motherfuckin album. Like: Something Wicked This Way Comes; Miles

There’s a lot of fun moments here that really make this an enjoyable experience. But those moments are also brought down by why seems to be some random interludes here and there. Likes: Roundabout; South Side of the Sky; Mood for a Day

I wouldn’t say this was bad, it sounded nice…but wow was this hard to give my full attention to. Likes: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart

3+ hours is a lot. I get that this is supposed to go through the full songbook here, and there’s lots of great songs…but as a whole it can feel like a burden to go through. That being said, Ella has such a beautiful voice and paired with the instrumentals it creates an overall relaxing and enjoyable listen. Likes: there’s 59 songs total…I can’t remember the various likes throughout

To me this is an example of electronic music being repetitive yet unique while not sounding annoying. Plus each song seemed to effortlessly transition from one to the next creating a more cohesive sound. Likes: Since I Left You; Stay Another Season; Electricity; Summer Crane; Live at Dominoes

I think I like Led Zeppelin I more, but this is still a damn good album, especially considering it was released in the same year as LZ I. Some of the instrumentals were nice. But Jah’s voice really rubbed me the wrong way. As a whole this didn’t register with me. Side Note: if you’re going to have a song that’s the same name as the album, it should be one of the better ones in the mix.
