Rose Stone’s vocals on Sing a Simple Song 🥰 The album tracks > the hit singles I would not recommend trying the first half of this one before you’ve had your coffee. The spacey slow grooves won me over.

Classic tunes. Was every song a single? Almost. 7/11. This means just about any greatest hits will repeat at least half of this one but for a good reason - the songs are great.

I love the Sisters font. And the Front Line Assembly sounding production and effects, and the initial bits of some tracks. Otherwise I feel about this like someone else did about Motörhead - most of the actual “songs” sound nearly indistinguishable from each other. Crash crash riff riff solo riff riff riff the end “Desperate Cry” had a nice Ministry/NWO thing going for a bit, and the acoustic guitar is a welcome relief.

Cetera’s bass playing is underrated

Meh. I like their very first album a bit But this is overcooked sheen is pretty much soul-free.

I actually own a nice 2011 release of this that comes with a book. It’s not a masterpiece. There’s some noodling around. However is light and enjoyable. And Maybe I’m Amazed is great.

Danny Thompson plays bass - got me through some of the overly precious moments. Kinda liked parts of it, and it is a little weird.

Skip track one (heard a few too many times) but love most of the rest. Great stuff done on just a guitar (1 track had drums I think). Thank Bob finally something very good.

Some of this is quite beautiful but sometimes I completely forgot it was even on. 😂

I like the Furs. This isn’t my favorite however. Half the songs are good, and half are a bit monotonous or monochromatic sounding. 2.5 stars from me but rounding to 3. Good stuff though when it is good. And not bad when it’s not, just a bit dull now and then.

Musically this was a treat. Unpredictable but smooth and enjoyable. I’m not used to the shout-style vocals (which aren’t constant), but I liked this. Reminds me of the Doors a little (the keyboards). I can definitely see why Syd Barrett was a fan.

This took me far away, to another time, someplace else.

Too many Costello albums and no play makes Jack something something I did like Kinder Murder - nice guitar sound. But otherwise conventional and just 😴 I’m sure some one will rate it 5 but ummm no.

Tuneless silliness. They sound like they’ve heard UmmaGumma and some Steely Dan and taken nothing but the worst from each. “taste”… agreeing with 95% of this lists ratings doesn’t make your taste better, just average.

1001 Elvis Costello Albums You Must Hear Before…. Feels like it at least. This one was a bit better than the other 3 we’ve had. In fact, I actually liked it! 😂

Oof. Love it, but it was one of my Dad’s all-time favorites and I can’t hear it without missing him terribly. Same goes for Vince Guaraldi. Time Out is timeless & time traveling - Take Five transports me with those drums (oft imitated since) with Dave’s piano starting up, it gives me goosebumps.

First time listener. It made me feel very drunk, without the hangover. I did break into thirds - about 20 mins at a time is enough Waits to keep me inebriated.

1st time listener to the full album, but I was familiar with its singles in various compilations, so I chose to listen to the “deluxe” version. It’s better mixed to my ear than what we had in 198x, Morrissey is more integrated into the mix and you can hear the under-rated Andy Rourke’s bass better and it’s kicking ass. https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-queen-is-dead-deluxe-edition/1257810218 Less emphasis on Morrissey makes this better.

I don’t really get this, but it’s decent, and I have loved a lot of Paul Weller solo work much more recently. This is his formative years, and it’s a thing, but it’s a little too two dimensional for me.

Morry is pretty much a 360 ° asshat but this is better than it might have been. Marr is missed.

The last time I heard Madonna and thought “not bad” was this. It’s a bit like Kaye Bush lite in spots, which is to say…not bad.
