Pump by Aerosmith
Nov 29 2023
Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Dec 05 2023

Rose Stone’s vocals on Sing a Simple Song 🥰 The album tracks > the hit singles I would not recommend trying the first half of this one before you’ve had your coffee. The spacey slow grooves won me over.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Dec 07 2023

Classic tunes. Was every song a single? Almost. 7/11. This means just about any greatest hits will repeat at least half of this one but for a good reason - the songs are great.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Dec 08 2023
Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Dec 11 2023

Link to Apple Music is wrong. Relentless but brilliantly cartoonish too.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Dec 12 2023

Nascent but same as he’d ever be.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Dec 14 2023

Kinda pales a little bit listening right after Alladin Sane ironically.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Dec 15 2023

Loved it

All Directions by The Temptations
Dec 18 2023

Live track 1? Nice & groovy. Fidelity lacks a little bit of bite on some tracks.

Very by Pet Shop Boys
Dec 20 2023

I listened to the Further version tracks 1-12

Arise by Sepultura
Dec 21 2023

I love the Sisters font. And the Front Line Assembly sounding production and effects, and the initial bits of some tracks. Otherwise I feel about this like someone else did about Motörhead - most of the actual “songs” sound nearly indistinguishable from each other. Crash crash riff riff solo riff riff riff the end “Desperate Cry” had a nice Ministry/NWO thing going for a bit, and the acoustic guitar is a welcome relief.

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Jan 01 2024

Meh. I like their very first album a bit But this is overcooked sheen is pretty much soul-free.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Jan 03 2024

I actually own a nice 2011 release of this that comes with a book. It’s not a masterpiece. There’s some noodling around. However is light and enjoyable. And Maybe I’m Amazed is great.

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Jan 04 2024

Danny Thompson plays bass - got me through some of the overly precious moments. Kinda liked parts of it, and it is a little weird.

Jan 15 2024

Skip track one (heard a few too many times) but love most of the rest. Great stuff done on just a guitar (1 track had drums I think). Thank Bob finally something very good.

Play by Moby
Jan 16 2024

Some of this is quite beautiful but sometimes I completely forgot it was even on. 😂

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Jan 17 2024

I like the Furs. This isn’t my favorite however. Half the songs are good, and half are a bit monotonous or monochromatic sounding. 2.5 stars from me but rounding to 3. Good stuff though when it is good. And not bad when it’s not, just a bit dull now and then.

Da Capo by Love
Jan 19 2024

Musically this was a treat. Unpredictable but smooth and enjoyable. I’m not used to the shout-style vocals (which aren’t constant), but I liked this. Reminds me of the Doors a little (the keyboards). I can definitely see why Syd Barrett was a fan.

25 by Adele
Jan 22 2024
Immigrés by Youssou N'Dour
Feb 07 2024

This took me far away, to another time, someplace else.

Truth by Jeff Beck
Feb 09 2024

Wankers

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Feb 12 2024

Space Truckin is fun.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Feb 13 2024

Listened to while walking 5km. Turned out to be somehow very direct 1:1 chat with Uncle Willie.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Feb 20 2024

I would like to be one of those hounds on the cover. ♥️

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Mar 01 2024

Too many Costello albums and no play makes Jack something something I did like Kinder Murder - nice guitar sound. But otherwise conventional and just 😴 I’m sure some one will rate it 5 but ummm no.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Mar 05 2024
Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Mar 06 2024

I thought for certain that cover depicted Zappa himself 😂

Raw Power by The Stooges
Mar 08 2024

Iggy Mix 5 Bowie Mix 3

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Mar 11 2024

Better than I expected Adele musta heard it on repeat at some point

Pretenders by Pretenders
Mar 12 2024

Brilliant. Ms. H is a sly genius Nick Lowe might’ve missed something 😉 Elastica blueprint

D by White Denim
Mar 13 2024
Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Mar 20 2024

Tuneless silliness. They sound like they’ve heard UmmaGumma and some Steely Dan and taken nothing but the worst from each. “taste”… agreeing with 95% of this lists ratings doesn’t make your taste better, just average.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Mar 21 2024

1001 Elvis Costello Albums You Must Hear Before…. Feels like it at least. This one was a bit better than the other 3 we’ve had. In fact, I actually liked it! 😂

British Steel by Judas Priest
Mar 25 2024

Better than I expected. I can hear bits of Guns n Roses, Motley Crue. Sounds like a better produced Motörhead

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Mar 26 2024

Oof. Love it, but it was one of my Dad’s all-time favorites and I can’t hear it without missing him terribly. Same goes for Vince Guaraldi. Time Out is timeless & time traveling - Take Five transports me with those drums (oft imitated since) with Dave’s piano starting up, it gives me goosebumps.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Mar 27 2024

First time listener. It made me feel very drunk, without the hangover. I did break into thirds - about 20 mins at a time is enough Waits to keep me inebriated.

xx by The xx
Mar 28 2024
Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Apr 01 2024

J. J. Cale (very) plus Dylan.

1999 by Prince
Apr 09 2024
Bummed by Happy Mondays
Apr 12 2024
Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Apr 15 2024

Miles got even cooler from here. But this goes down like a fine bourbon, and just as quickly.

The Rise & Fall by Madness
Apr 18 2024

Unavailable so I listened to five tracks from it on the U.S. comp Madness. Liked what I heard…

May 09 2024

At certain points I really thought I was listening to Peter Gabriel.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jun 10 2024

Perfect. My other favorite Beatles.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Jun 11 2024

Kinda the least of the first three JHE for me but still cool.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jun 13 2024

First time listener who was blown away. A few songs don’t connect but is beautiful 😍

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Jun 14 2024

Turning your pain into art 101. Brilliant and sad and also brilliant. Another favorite. Screw the versions crap and just bask in the full sessions: More Blood, More Tracks

Heroes by David Bowie
Jun 17 2024

Prefer Low, very slightly. Title track makes me tingle

Hotel California by Eagles
Jun 18 2024

Utter 💩 1 extra star for not being steely dan

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jun 28 2024

Sweet

Dummy by Portishead

Green by R.E.M.
Jul 22 2024
The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Oct 14 2024

1st time listener to the full album, but I was familiar with its singles in various compilations, so I chose to listen to the “deluxe” version. It’s better mixed to my ear than what we had in 198x, Morrissey is more integrated into the mix and you can hear the under-rated Andy Rourke’s bass better and it’s kicking ass. https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-queen-is-dead-deluxe-edition/1257810218 Less emphasis on Morrissey makes this better.

Oct 17 2024

I’m stunned at how good this is. I’m as surprised as anyone about this.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Oct 28 2024

Yecccchhhh 🤢

Spiderland by Slint
Nov 01 2024

Excellent but imperfect. 4.5.

So by Peter Gabriel
Nov 12 2024
Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Nov 13 2024

Listened to UK version.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Nov 15 2024

Sounds like The Bee Gees to me now 😂

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Nov 20 2024

I forgot to tell you about several sins 😂💘

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Nov 25 2024

Much loved as it is, and as much as A Forest is brilliant, as an album it’s a 3.33 star for me.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Dec 06 2024

Better than Ziggy for me

Dec 11 2024

I can hear where a lot of my New Wave favorites formative years were spent : listening to this. Very good.

The Bends by Radiohead
Dec 16 2024

This would be 3 stars but Street Spirit pushes it to 4

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jan 20 2025

A bit overblown tbh. Overdose of Roger, not enough Rick and Dave.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Feb 24 2025

Preferred this sound when Black Sabbath was making it 20 years prior. 🤨👎

Aja by Steely Dan
Feb 25 2025

Reprehensible.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Feb 27 2025

Monotonous Guitar and everything same sound every track. Zzz 🤤 🧟‍♀️

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Mar 04 2025

Neil Young sings like a 3rd grader

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Mar 14 2025

Hilarious, classic, fun, and with some filler. At its best it’s great fun. Would go well with some sort of beer rage too though. 3.5

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Apr 17 2025

Could be Frank Black was a fan? 😂

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Apr 18 2025

I still have on CD. It’s good enough.

1984 by Van Halen
Apr 29 2025

2.8 really

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Apr 30 2025

Cannot tolerate Win’s voice very long. 0 from me.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
May 01 2025

I don’t really get this, but it’s decent, and I have loved a lot of Paul Weller solo work much more recently. This is his formative years, and it’s a thing, but it’s a little too two dimensional for me.

Skylarking by XTC
May 22 2025

Knew Dear God ofc but the rest was a pleasant surprise. Liked this a lot!

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Jun 04 2025

Pretty good solo album from Andy

The Clash by The Clash
Jun 16 2025

Classic stuff, though some of the demos or earlier versions of these songs I prefer to the album ones.

Fragile by Yes
Jun 25 2025

I can’t. I tried.

Slayed? by Slade
Jun 30 2025

Kinda dull

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Jul 04 2025

Pretty sure I am Missing Something

Leftism by Leftfield
Jul 08 2025

Good. Original helps having Toni Haliday and that voice of hers purring through. I like Lyndon’s contribution too on Open Up. Some draggy bits too though.

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jul 21 2025

Morry is pretty much a 360 ° asshat but this is better than it might have been. Marr is missed.

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Jul 22 2025

The last time I heard Madonna and thought “not bad” was this. It’s a bit like Kaye Bush lite in spots, which is to say…not bad.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jul 31 2025

A few moments that are nice but overall it collapsed under its own (light)weight

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
Aug 11 2025

LMAO Why is this in the list???

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Aug 12 2025
Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Aug 21 2025

A revelation when I first heard it. This is what a great Steve Winwood record should sound like.

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Aug 22 2025

My parents stereo in the early to mid70s. Fire & Rain elevates this measurably.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Sep 23 2025

Too much noodling

C'est Chic by CHIC
Oct 07 2025

A little bit lightweight, could have used a few more tunes of the quality of Le Freak, which is fab. 2.5

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 27 2025
Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Oct 30 2025

Perfect Prescription is better but parts of this are wonderful too.

Fun House by The Stooges
Nov 18 2025

The blueprint for SO much that eventually followed, and it’s a rock solid one too. Best thing they ever did imo.

Low-Life by New Order
Nov 24 2025

Better than I recall but may be a bit overrated. Still gonna give a 4 tho

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Dec 03 2025

I really dislike “Like a Rilling Stone”. But I love the rest of this so much it somehow is STILL A 5 😂

Yuck. Cluttering mess.

Sister by Sonic Youth

Must be their blueprint for the next 5-6 records lol It’s good.
