I can take a Muse song here and there, but listening to that album straight through was too much.
This reminds me of Dan Coats, who has undoubtedly been the main source of The Clash reaching my ears.
Bob Dylan sucks. And why would they cram that suckiness into two 7 minuter and an 11 minuter? This album does have a couple of recognizable songs though
I'm just not a huge Bob fan. His singing voice style sounds forced and unnatural. Sorry Bob.
Not my favorite Zeppelin album, but it has some bangers on there.
Couple of good ones on there, Jesus Walks and All Falls Down stand out for me.
The only thing that saved this album from not even being listened to, was the fact that this was a bunch of covers. I literally have no idea how Willie Nelson sold a single album. Every single cover he did on this album was worse than the original, and not by a little bit. The only good thing about Willie Nelson is that he uses his bafflingly unlikely fame as a tool for cannabis legalization.
The Weight makes this a three instead of a two.
Cooking music imo
I don't think I've heard of this band, but I'm sure I've heard their stuff. A touch of pearl clutching lyrics. Good Stuff over all
Not my thing, but I didn't hate it. The music seems like a noisy jam session that they tried to make into songs. The all lowercase song titles almost dropped this down to a one star.
Makes me feel like I need a perm and a track suit.
Love this style.
Not really my thing, but not bad.
Whiney and boring
I made it through about 5 songs. Not my thing at all. I feel like you either really like this type of music, or you don't. I'm part of group 2.
Nothing I'd seek out, but I didn't hate it.
I'm a fan of the face-melting guitar solos. I want Jack Black to make a film based on this album, where he sings all the songs.
Golden Years is the star of this one.
"I bet it'll sell even if I put out some weird shit" - Kanye I feel like this album was the first major hint on where Ye was headed mentally.
Lovely
What a weird artist for Eminem to have beef with.
I didn't really like it, but I don't like the Smiths either, so it isn't very surprising.
Weather With You is recognizable for me, but not any others on this one. I enjoyed it though.
All. The. Drug. Frank Zappa is a weird dude.
Very David Bowie
I stand by my first Suede analysis, whiney and boring.
Classic 90s rap. I can see the fashion of this music in my head.
Jazzy.
I like
Serious bangers on their. I feel like The Strokes gained too much of their style from their lo-fi mic sound they use on every single song though.
I don't think this is English. I like lyrics too much.
Easy listening, soothing. I wish they did some stuff with J. Joplin.
Decent background music, nothing too distracting.
I feel like this era thought it was just soo cool to have separate left and right tracks. I almost find it distracting. Why is my left ear only hearing drums?
Decent old school vibes
Boring, the whole album could be one long crappy song.
A little too abstract for me. Not bad though.
Mid Zeppelin
My fav Rod Stuart song isn't Rod Stuart...: Stay with me.
I've never listened to so much electric organ at one time. When I hear Green Onions, I can't help but think of The Sandlot
Kids these days will never understand the joy of a 'disk 2'
this is mid zepp. on the soft side.
Top notch. This album takes me back to a very specific time in my life. Champagne Supernova might be better than Wonderwall just saying
three hours is a bit much, three disks is nutty, good songs though
A 13 minute song that has violin solos that sound like guitar isn't up my ally, I'm glad I heard it, but I don't need to hear it again.
This is my moms JAM. I feel like I'm 8 years old, driving to harmony house.
Randy Newman just isn't the same when it isn't Toy Story
Meh Lorde for me
Walmart David Bowie
The intro of this album is from something, I can't put my finger on it; a movie or video game.
I feel like I'm in my Grandma's kitchen.
Loved it.
Garbage
kinda weird, but good weird.
I don't know if this is country or rock, kind of forgettable to me.
I like this vibe. Folky.
I am not a Stevie Wonder guy. This would have been a 1 star if it weren't for Superstision and You are the sunshine of my life.
I don't get it
I'm not the biggest fan of Bob's voice, but I like the music and lyrics
I had no idea they did Feelin' Alright? originally. That being said, Joe Cocker is way better.
Did not like.
An optical illusion album cover is bad ass. Decent.
A little slow and sad for my tastes
Just meh for me, kinda weird.
Nothing special, but roundabout is a classic.
Some memorable ones on there.
Genuinely love this album, some real iconic songs
I love Sam Cooke.
I feel like I played some terrible computer game...way too much...way back in the day, and this was the sound track.
His band isn't as good as others from that era. Mid lineup tbh.
Sounds like a local shithole bar band, and I'm not a fan of the album art.
Kinda mid zeppein
dunno, some basement stuff right here
The Willy Wonka band? Happiness Stan has to be a willy wonka song.
this was fine.
This caught me on the right day.
Kind of riding that fatboy slim train
This seems like the kind of album your buddy listened to all the time and they rant and they rave about how amazing it is, then you listen to it and it's the epitome of meh.
Boring
This reminds me of my minidisk player
Bowie is mid to start, and this is mid-mid.
Son of a Preacher Man is the only song I was familiar with on this album, the rest was enjoyable though
I think I may have actually purchased this CD back in the day. Maybe the last CD I ever bought.... E-Pro is a banger.
The vocals were just blah, but the lyrics were good.
Terrible
I already listened to this one.... I previously said: I'm just not a huge Bob fan. His singing voice style sounds forced and unnatural. Sorry Bob. I stand by it.
80's vibe
garbage...for The Beatles, but not to bad compared to the field.
This one caught me on a good day, probably a 2 on a less optimal day.
I wonder if Common still fucks with Kanye
The goofy vocals, horns and organ were too much for me.
Kinda weird...in a good way.
Second time this one has come up...
Damn, I remember liking this back in the day. Stan is still a good song.
not good
unremarkable
Second time hearing this one.....still a 2.
Good vibes, but without understanding any of the lyrics, and a lack of variance between songs, it was like listening to the same song for an hour and a half.
I enjoyed the variation of style, nothing really stood out to me though
I'm fairly sure that Phoebe Buffay took inspiration from Liz Phair.
Yuck
At what point does a song become a jam session....somewhere prior to the 18th minute mark of Halleluhwah. When is a song considered an experiment of sound...rather than a song....because that's how I'd classify Aumgn. I did enjoy hearing the "Aumgn" lyric though.
This'd be a one if it wasn't for Pinball Wizard
I like Jazz, but this is a bit unstructured for my ape-brain jazz tastes. Still enjoyable.
wtf, never thought of the Byrds as a country artist
I don't like depeche mode.
Did not finish...
I didn't like it, but I didn't not like it
I feel like I'm stuck in an old video game. Not for me. DNF.
The 90s were weird.
I can see a place for it in Monty Python movies.
INTERESTING!
Weirdly mid
Really close to a 2
I want to like Radiohead more than I do. There is something about the style that is just too unwavering/consistent/identifiable.
It's like watching a movie.
The skits were okay!
Super Meh
Very Frampton
Tumbling Dice added to liked
I'm pretty sure that this is going to be my least favorite album on this whole shindig. DNF
I had three liked songs on this album before it came up on here.
Weird. Lyrics are not clever. Some good old school rap beats/sounds though
Jack White is a Detroit treasure.
Couldn't get this to come up on Spotify. I listened to an album by Khaled from the year after this one. It was enjoyable.
Really really liked the classroom talk setting at the end of the songs.
This started out as a 1, but it grew on me.
Love LOVE the music, vocals are okay. We saw a group at Cliff Bells in Detroit, and the guy sounded just like Tom Waits.
Meh, I listened to all 17 mins of Sister Ray.
Papa was a rolling stone is the one on this album, the rest is meh
Honestly, ZZ Top isn't really my sound. This album is loaded with iconic songs though, and I appreciate their style.
Iconic, not my sound though.
Big Iron brings this up to a three.
DNF
sounds like non-famous eric clapton
I don't know what the song Next is from, but I've heard it, and it feels like it was featured in a movie scene.
I can barely understand the lyrics, and 90% of the music sounds the same.
Running Dry sounds like it should be played on a harp, in some King's quarters...Weird cadence to it.
Lana Del Rey makes boring ass DEPRESSING music.
I didn't put any of these on my liked songs, but it's still getting a 3 for the instrumentals. I wish I knew the language.
