1001 Albums Summary

I think they've got better in them tbh, so i'm gonna keep this one low.

I really don't enjoy sultans of swing but liked the album as a whole, added it to my playlist to listen again.

I don't really like the Velvet Underground that much but i didn't hate this like i do Nico. I really enjoyed Pale Blue Eyes

It’s not an incredible album by any stretch but as easy listening country albums go, it’s very beautiful and props to using the word chrysalis in a song to ms muzzy.

A good album, corgans voice though.

This is a good album but I HATE neo soul.

The screaming is fun but a bit much. When i went to see Red Hot Chili Peppers at hyde park in...05?06? something like that - James Brown was booed off the stage.

I thought this album was really sweet, really pretty. A lovely autumn album.

There were some good songs in this but it mostly just dragged on and on for me. Not one i will be revisiting

Was about to hit the roof when i realised that this started with a cover but then looked at the original track listing and that wasn't on it. Dizzy highs but some bits a bit dull

Drags a little in the middle but the highs are dizzy high. it's a 3.5

I rinsed this album so much when it first came out. Remember seeing them on the second stage at V festival just after this album came out and feeling pretty smug about it. ABsolutely cracking beginning of the album (skipped brightside) Glamourous indie rock and roll absolutely stonking song. A hit.

A beautiful last album, talk about ending on a high. it's a 4.5 but i'll give it a 5, why not.

Neither of these beefheart albums are ones i would pick but this is definitely the better.

A Gospel one of the most deeply evil songs i've ever heard. It's an interesting album that's for sure. but a good album? I'm not convinced. You're the Best Thing is so madly different to the rest of the album, it's extra confusing. I don't think i'll be revisiting.

It was good but it didn't really grab me.

It's incredibly solid as an album but doesn't have any standout tracks for me.

REally enjoyed this, not usually my thing but added to my playlist to listen again. Maybe i was too harsh on elvis not writing his own songs as these seem to be standards too...

I listened to a song exploder episode about Take on Me and they spoke about the songs being originally written for a lower tone of voice and then they got this guy in. they realised his voice could reach higher pitches than other people while remaining strong. Having that in mind while listening was interesting. However, hard to open with Take on Me and have any other song mean anything. It's too dizzy a high.

I don't think i'll ever revisit this. it's good but i feel like it was done by others better.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this album. I'm sure some of the lyrics are probably questionable but i'm not gonna look too closely and will be listening to this one again.

I was really surprised that this is what The The sound like. Thought they were gonna be yet more 60-70s british beatles-inspired rock but absolutely loved this! looking forward to when their other album appears on the list :)

I find Hole just okay.

I was on holiday recently and this kind of music was playing by the pool in the hotel constantly and honestly, i've had enough.

This hanky panky songs needs to get to fuck. And some of this sounds like Chas and Dave (derogatory). But some bits were incredible. The opening of Paris 1919 was BIIIIIG.

I'm gonna listen to this again but first listen it was a little meh.

I find hip-hop and rap quite difficult to rate so i'm sure this album is better than I think. However - it's not my vibe. I will be giving it another listen. Loved Da Mystery of Chessboxing

This was a nice listen and he had quite the voice but how high can you rate something that wasn't ever written by him? watch me give 5 stars to beyonce.

An easy 5 for me, the songs still feel so fresh and furious.

This is good but you probably have to be in a very specific mood to listen to it on the regular.

I listened to this at least 3 times and it just didn't go in so i must therefore assume it's MID (very good, but not as good as other beatles albums)

This is very Trout Mask Replica-esque but not in a good way. but it looks like we've got another 4 albums to come for him to win me over. Great.

The worst band in the world is one of the weirdest songs to make it into this list. i didn't hate this tbf.

I don't vibe with her voice but this is undeniable.

I personally don't like this style at all but I do think that it's good if you do like it? I used to have this version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine from Limewire in the early 2000s. It was incorrectly titled 'I Heard It Through The Bassline' but I actually think that fits better, such an excellent cover.

I really enjoyed this. I can't believe this Mother song is by the police. it sounds very modern but also very beefheart.

I didn't know costello sounded like this i don't think. it was enjoyable, nothing ground breaking but nice.

As much as I'd like to be 'this is overrated' it's not. There's a reason it's always so high on these lists.
