Leftism
Leftfieldhow funny, just the other day i was saying, you know what this 1001 list needs more of? 90s british electronica thats 2 hours long

this would either be my least favourite 3/5 or my favourite 2/5
I don't understand the poor mixing comments. She's certainly mixed low on many of the songs, but I can't see how it isn't intentional. I think the low mixing being intentional comes off clearest on 'Hook'

was a 4, had to change to a 5, easily my favourite album generated after a month
weak, Immigrant song rules, nothing else stod out at all.
okay, nothing special

great album, i was surprised at how jaunty it was
this sucks and its too long and it sucks
Love it probably slightly below on the beach
There's nothing to see here. I'd be less annoyed if it weren't for the annoying lyrics as well. Too much name dropping, too many stilted, poorly flowing verses. "It stinks!" - Jon Lovitz, 1994
this sucks
2 long. I wanted to give it a 3 because I like Walk of Life until I was told it would be better as a Springsteen song and I can't agree more. Money for nothing is alright, just a pretty boring album.
i think you have to be at minimum 35 to like this
its alright, solid two and a half
solid singles hated everything else
I listened to this a lot when I was younger and figured it'd be a 3 before listening. The album is on the longer side compared to contemporaries, but being ~1 hour long isn't necessarily a detriment. As long as it is varied and consistent it should be good, but I don't think it quite achieves that, not like Enter The Wu-Tang or Black On Both Sides. I think it is worth a 4 though; there are some great beats on the first half of the album, second half slows down a little, but I think it flows well enough that its okay. The singles, though, are fantastic, so I think it needs to be better than a 3.
no redeeming qualities
so far the best 2/5
come on man
best left in 1990
this would either be my least favourite 3/5 or my favourite 2/5
oh my god thank you thank you i would hate to have died without listening to suicide by suicide thank you!!!
i dont rate many albums without listening to every song, but trust me, listen to track 1 and youll have it from there
it could be worse

maybe 3 good songs, the rest were complete snoozers
I'm not unfamiliar with music from this era, this is just uniquely annoying. I can't listen to Grey Goose with a straight face
Too one-note to be almost an hour
prohibitively boring
you don't need to listen to this before you die
im trying to not give three 1/5's in a row
I was really not enjoying it, but the last two songs brought me back around a bit. Probably my least favourite 3/5
you'll know your rating within 8 seconds of listening
good, but the songs blend together a bit
if i could give this a 0 it would still be too generous. i hate this album so much. stop whispering you loser, this is just brit pop maroon 5. except at least maroon 5 doesn't put on airs. oh yeah we're so smart we dont need guns to change the world we'll use our minds isn't that cool anyways let me see your tits
i had something to say about the album but that was 1h40 of music ago. i really hate his voice. 1979 is a good song though
i dont really have any strong feelings one way or the other. what i do know is that ill never listen to this again. it can sit with all the other 2/5 albums that i dont hate but dont care about
quite liked this one, wish it wasn't in stereo though. official beatles album rankings so far: 1. with the beatles 2. rubber soul
not bad, not exactly compelling though. right on the edge of 2/3 some would call that 2.5
I don't like his voice. If these were sung by someone else it'd be pretty good
a little subdued for my tastes, but still a nice addition to the rotation
I love this album, have since the first listen. Going through this list has just reinforced how amazing a work it is. I think that it can be easy to fence in The Smiths (especially Morrissey) as whingy, goth, opposite-of-life-affirming, etc., but that requires a level of cynicism utterly absent from this album. It is a lyrical triumph, completely pithy, sarcastic; totally, perfectly witty. After listening to ~70 albums on this list I've come to adore the restraint shown in the writing, Morrissey without fail, nails the message in the fewest words possible (some girls really are just bigger than others). All this without mentioning how on point the instrumentals and production remains from the first second to last wail. I've listened to, maybe, a million albums in my life and I'm still amazed at how tight every melody remains. Like the writing, they literally never get old. 100/5 Frankly Mr. Shankly is still my fav on this album. (One last note, how refreshing is a 37min album from the list? I think there are more albums >75 mins than <45 mins so far)
yep thats definitely music
there's so much depth to this album, so many sounds and instruments at the same time. I could listen to this over and over. I would usually find some of the songs saccharine, don't know if its the nostalgia, but I have no problems, great album
truly so boring. bored to tears. then a song comes on that ive heard before and im tired and bored. 1 or 2 i dont care.
I enjoyed it, but I don't get why it is on the list.
how funny, just the other day i was saying, you know what this 1001 list needs more of? 90s british electronica thats 2 hours long
some complete stinkers on this album. it shouldnt be on the list. theres no reason this and stankonia are here over aquemini and atliens, absolutely ridiculous. maybe theres a reason people dont put out 2h15, 40 track albums all the time, there is so much fat to cut off this album. if this was a normal single album, there could be some gold here. im gonna go listen to a 6/5 album; aquemini
Doesn't do anything for me, don't think I'll listen again
probably the funniest album so far
π
Strongest 3 without a doubt
Not bad, maybe a little samey, but too good to be a 2/5
if i'm being honest i probably won't listen to it again which means i'd usually give it a 2, but i think that undersells it
i really want to like this. the j dilla/mf doom songs are fantastic, but there is just too much inbetween to justify coming back regularly.
too much vibrato
just like iii it doesnt do anything for me
i dont really know what to rate this
