Popular Reviews

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones

Can’t tell if I’m a big stones fan yet or not. But this album was killer. So much great energy and loved most songs.

All Ratings (238)

Van Halen by Van Halen
Apr 23 2025

Short and concise album. Have heard many of the songs before and liked second part a bit more as I hadn’t heard songs. Classic hard rock sound and great guitar riffs. Solid album

The Score by Fugees
Apr 24 2025

Enjoyed a lot more than I thought. A lot of songs I had heard and were overplayed. But loved the songs I didn’t know yet. Great album. Lauren is the standout.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Apr 25 2025

Never heard of the album but liked it a lot. Played it twice. Liked over half the songs on the album.

Kid A by Radiohead
Apr 27 2025

Thought of giving it a 3. One I’ll need to revisit. Very depressing. the sounds are interesting. Feel like it’ll grow on me over time. Hard to take in all in one listening

Apr 28 2025

Much better than I imagined. New this album and some of the songs, but never gave it a shot. Had preconceived notions. Hardly skipped any songs, even given the length of over 2 hours. Close to calling it a 5, as it has a lot of replay value. Production top notch 4.5

Aja by Steely Dan
Apr 29 2025

Enjoyed the album broadly. Need to listen with headphones. Music and instrumentation was pretty remarkable. Singing left me a bit lacking. Will relisten and did enjoy

For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music
Apr 30 2025

Instrumentation was great. But his voice didn’t work for me at all. Sounded like the guy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. But really great guitar, sax and others throughout. Was the redeeming quality 4/10

Tragic Songs of Life by The Louvin Brothers
May 01 2025

enjoyed it more than i thought, but wont revisit it most likely. didnt actively dislike it. giving it a 2/5. i was impressed by the lyrics and their depth and play of emotions. some darkness to the lyrics that I didn't expect. lyrics great, music itself isn't really my thing. very basic 3/10

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
May 02 2025

Didn’t do anything for me at all and found it hard to get through. Want to retry at some point to see why and if better in second listen.

Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
May 04 2025

solid. not my typical music, but was light and had a nice feel to it. not sure i'll listen to it front to back again, but still enjoyed

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
May 05 2025

Decent and enjoyed it enough but probably won’t revisit. Few great tracks, others were just fine.

All Directions by The Temptations
May 06 2025

Enjoyed the album and was a nice switch up after a lot of rock. Will revisit a few songs but probably not album from start to finish. Switched genres a lot which I didn’t love. First song was favorite

Violator by Depeche Mode
May 07 2025

Absolutely loved this album and learning about it. The music was superb and lyrics interesting as well. Will continue to revisit

Teen Dream by Beach House
May 08 2025

A bit boring. Songs sounded very similar and didn’t grab me. Some good ones

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
May 10 2025

Loved it, and especially learning about it. Will revisit even if it’s not an album that blew me away. Was a very enjoyable listen and appreciated all it meant for pop music as I read about it

Chore of Enchantment by Giant Sand
May 11 2025

Couldn’t get into this album at all. Voice was so lifeless to me. May try again in future but had no endearing quality for me.

Chris by Christine and the Queens
May 12 2025

Fun, solid pop album. Will revisit

Doolittle by Pixies
May 13 2025

Didn’t enjoy this much at all on first listen. Thinking I just don’t like this style of music. Will be interesting to see if any other albums in this genre connect for me. Just noises After second listen this grew on me much more. The energy was infectious

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
May 14 2025

Like the music but not the voice much. Back half was interesting.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
May 15 2025

Not bad but boring

May 18 2025

Surprised it made list. Seems like better albums in this genre. Not bad per se, but nothing special. Don’t see myself revisiting

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
May 19 2025

So much energy on this album. Starts off with a bang and never stops. Shortness helps the album too. Score is also based on history of album and what it meant for music

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
May 20 2025

Loved this album. Guitar is incredible throughout

May 21 2025

Pretty solid album throughout. Some misses but for the most part an enjoyable listen. Will relisten

Dare! by The Human League
May 22 2025
May 23 2025

first time i've really sat with Dylan and loved it. the first half, with its more electic mix, grabbed me. and second half was great folk music. want to spend more time with it all, especially the lyrics. not smart enough for everything he says.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
May 24 2025

Some real incredible highs. a few boring songs, but overall a great album

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
May 25 2025

Wasn’t the biggest cypress hill fan. Just never spent enough time with them. Really enjoyed this album, especially the production. Lyrics are what you’d expect. Will absolutely revisit

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
May 26 2025

Not for me at all. Too out there. sounded like music from a scary circus

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
May 27 2025

Unique mix of punk and folk. Not sure I’ve heard many albums like it before. Punk has never really connected with me so this was an interesting experience. Glad to have listened but probably wont come back too again

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
May 28 2025

11 year old me really loved this. Different at 37, but still enjoyed. Some songs are tough and lyrics are ridiculous but also some real high points. Enjoyed second half a lot. 4 partly off nostalgia. 3 is realistic. Not revisiting this often

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
May 29 2025

Couple songs in middle I could listen to, otherwise connected with nothing. Couldn’t listen to every song all the way through.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
May 31 2025

Great guitar riffs, energy throughout. Really enjoyed this one.

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jun 01 2025

First experience with anything morrissey (including smiths) and found this quite good. Only thing holding it back from a 4 is that it’s not the typical music I’d revisit often. Chat gpt said this and I thought it was put well Your Arsenal is Morrissey at a crossroad — glam yet introspective, political yet personal, funny yet mournful. It blends bitterness, bravado, and vulnerability better than almost any of his other solo work

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Jun 03 2025

never heard of them before but enjoyed the music. quiet eclectic with dramatic arrangements. will revisit. close to giving it a 4.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 05 2025

perfect pop album. never listened to full album before, so enjoyed sitting with full thing, even when knowing all the songs. great throughout

Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Jun 06 2025

Tough listen. No redeeming qualities for me

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Jun 07 2025

very much mood music. enjoyed it overall. no single song really stood out, all blended together, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. interested to try another listen.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Jun 10 2025

Incredible album. First half had so much energy and second half was beautiful slower songs. Very raw. Will add to rotation

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Jun 12 2025

Exactly why I started this project! Never heard this album and probably never would have. Enjoyed it immensely without understanding lyrics. Great energy and instrumentation. Will revisit a lot

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Enjoyed this quite a bit. Almost a 4, and could be after a few more listens. Not what I was expecting. A bit darker and more socially conscious

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jun 14 2025

Can’t tell if I’m a big stones fan yet or not. But this album was killer. So much great energy and loved most songs.

Jun 16 2025

classic hip hop album. rae and ghostface were incredible throughout, and rza had such perfect production for this album

Jun 27 2025

Type of album I wouldn’t have listened to or appreciated before this project Really punchy record. Enjoyed more than I thought

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jun 28 2025

Interesting storytelling. Probably won’t relisten. This type of country relies so heavily on lyrics for me as the music itself all sounds too alike. glad to have listened

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Jun 30 2025

Not bad just not really my type of music

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Jul 03 2025

I know it’s an important album but I found it pretty boring

Nixon by Lambchop
Jul 07 2025

Never heard of them. Type of music I could enjoy but didn’t like this album. Lead singers voice didn’t do anything for me.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jul 09 2025

I was never a big fan of punk, but this process has helped me develop a deeper appreciation for it. I have to be in the right frame of mind, but when I am, it can really hit. There are still a lot of misses for me (both in the genre and on this album) but there are also some real high points. I’ve come to enjoy the chaos. I plan to revisit this and other punk albums I listened to earlier to see how my feelings evolve with sequential listens.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Jul 10 2025

enjoyed. didnt actively listen as much as i should have. background music. a bit too long

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Jul 15 2025

Tical by Method Man
Jul 16 2025
Signing Off by UB40
Jul 17 2025

Felt very repetitive and long. Favorite tracks were the instruments

Jul 20 2025

beautiful album with such great emotion and energy. On first listen, I wasn’t quite sure how to feel. I had heard so many of these songs covered by others over the years, or had heard the originals first. Once I got past that, I could appreciate the album even more. Otis has such a unique voice. love this one

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

This shits hard. First full Black Sabbath album I I listened to and it was more than I would have imagined. Great guitar, lyrics weren’t as batshit as i thought they’d be. 4.5

#1 Record by Big Star
Jul 25 2025

Enjoyed more than I figured. Very catchy songs with good punch. 3.5

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jul 26 2025

Classic. Consistent from song to song. Nostalgia plays a factor.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jul 29 2025

Great pop album. Some all time classics. A few songs I didn’t love which leads to the 4. But the highs are so high on this album

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Jul 30 2025

Interesting listen and quite enjoyed it. Lyrics will take some time to really get and understand. Loved the production and it made the songs feel like a journey at times. 3.5. Could see this being a 4 after a few registers

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Jul 31 2025

Such a lively album. I think I’m a steely Dan fan

xx by The xx
Aug 09 2025
Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Aug 10 2025

Djam Leelii by Baaba Maal
Aug 18 2025

interesting enough but probably wont listen again. songs tended to blend together.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Aug 20 2025

I’d only heard a few Arcade Fire songs before, and honestly didn’t expect to love this album as much as I did. I thought the message might come across as a little heavy-handed, but it held together beautifully and was a great listen. I’m excited to go back through it again, since I imagine the lyrics will connect even more on repeat listens. My only worry is that some of the songs do blur together at times, with a bit of repetitiveness in the sound. Curious to see how it all ages. But loved it first listen! One of my favorites so far

The Sun Rises In The East by Jeru The Damaja
Aug 21 2025

Classic album. Premo’s production was incredible. Jeru solid throughout as well.

Aug 26 2025

B-52's by The B-52's
Sep 01 2025

Interesting listen. Some good but a lot that didn’t connect. Don’t get rock lobster at all. Males voice was biggest issue. Probably a 4/10

Sep 02 2025

Being There by Wilco
Sep 07 2025
