Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
The Flaming LipsA nostalgic listen, I used to love the yoshimi battles the pink robots single. Only a couple of recognised bangers in there but a consistent and enjoyable listen. 8/10

Not for me. Hated 'Mother, the rest was pretty dull other than the classic 'Every Breath You Take'. I find listen figures on Spotify interesting too, so heavily weighted to every breath, no need to listen to any other song on the album. 3/10
Nice to see an album come up that you already know is packed with hits. Starts so strong, the whole 1st disc is hit after hit really. Disc 2 was less recognisable from the titles but pretty impressive to smash out 30 songs of such consistency. To be fair there are probably more recognised songs on disc 2 than on most albums that have come up on here. No song is the same to the next, so varied which I guess is because there are multiple great songwriters in the band with their own style. Other note Ob La Fuckin Di!
I love Arcade Fire so I already knew I liked the majority of the album but great to listen again. I think it says more about me than the album but I struggle to stay engaged with albums that are 45+ Minutes and I don't get the same enjoyment listening to it in pieces so that's the only negative with the suburbs for me. If you moved we used to wait and sprawl II up into the first 10 tracks you've got an incredible 40-45 minute album. But I'm sure I'm a heathen and missing some artistic reason why that would ruin it.
Strong start, great throwback to old FIFA soundtracks. Dangerous and on hold are tunes. I thought I'd enjoy it more than I did as I like a few XX songs but I got quite bored. Appreciate the quality of the music but the voices annoy a little. 6/10
One of my favourite albums, unique and perfect.
Movin out is a banger to start it off. Just the way you are is a classic. Vienna was good but doesn't deserve almost 1 billion plays on Spotify. She's always a woman is beautiful. Not really my usual style of music but I appreciate the lyrics and instruments. Quite a few classic songs on 1 album. A little cheesey, pub rock at times. 7/10
Enjoyed the first 6 tracks, culminating in sultans of swing which was by far the best track. Great guitar and tempo all the way through. Didn't really like his voice and it tailed off a bit in the last few songs. Almost an 8 but I'd say 7.5/10
Didn't enjoy the album on the whole. Solsbury Hill is a classic and waiting for the big one saved the back end of the album. It actually ended better than it started which is unusual. It was all over the place though. 3/10 Edit: re-listened to Moribund the burgermeister and it's a tune. 4.5/10
Free form guitar was painful. The rest of it was pretty boring. Even I'm a man went on too long. Not for me. 2/10
Solid album, probably wouldn't listen again but was fine. Loads of buzz about PJ Harvey winning the mercury prize a couple (?) of times but I don't really get through hype 6/10
One is beautiful song. Only liked the singles though.
Not for me but appreciate they were pioneers in something that has got much better since this.
