I haven’t gotten into blues but this might just do it. I really love the intro part to the first song.
‘I’m Waiting For the Day’ has a solid drum beat Now I want the vinyl of it The songs are all really good
“Uh oh, Love comes to town” IS A STRAIGHT UP BOP 10/10 “New Feeling” has a great intro, makes me want to shake my head side to side. Has a good message, I love the riffs in the guitar. I just can’t shake the groove out of me. I can definitely see this song being in a movie. Has some weird highs and lows, but other than that it’s great. 8/10 “Tentative Decisions” has a great little riff intro, the drum beat seems to be really solid, the chorus vocals are really good, but the vocals are kinda quirky for lack of a better word. Ooh I love the second part of the song after the first chorus. Has a good hype up to the next part which is back to the riff then the melody, it’s great composition. Feels kind of like a marching song and dancing song simultaneously. Good outro piano part, with the classic fade out obviously. 7/10 “Happy Day” has an interesting and ear-catching intro, I like the creativity. The vocals are great in this song. The high falsetto notes have kind of grown on me, I guess it’s just a style I’m not used to. I like the intentional pauses in the music, it adds just a fresh little bit to be like “wait what? I gotta keep listening!” And it has good song-writing the rhythm is very good. Writing poems is hard enough, I have no clue how song-writers manage to put in a whole bunch of instruments into a poem and make it sound good! 8/10 “Who is it?” That intro is just so powerful and groovy. I like how this song manages to have this much repition and still feel fresh and new. I like this love song it really contrasts with the crooning that pertains to most love songs. Very creative. I love the cut-off at the end. 10/10 “No Compassion” has a very interesting title. I don’t know how much this song speaks to me. It has some pretty good drums and guitar but it doesn’t stand out too much to me. It’s a good quality of song for the most part. The last part kind of carries the song with the fade in and out imo it just doesn’t have enough to stand out. 5/10 “The Book I Read” has a good intro and stands out a lot! Really gets me excited for the next part, and I love the piano that they included into a rock song! The singing is pretty awesome. I can’t get enough. I can’t believe he’s living in the future.😮10/10 “Don’t Worry About the Government” has a solid intro, and a good bouncy tune. It’s very upbeat I like it a lot. I just wanna bounce around with this song. Singing is pretty good and fits for the song. I like the ending. 9/10 “First Week / Last Week….Carefree” has a very long title, I don’t know what I expect. I love how spunky all these intros are. The sound that plays at the beginning is very cool. It’s very stand off ish which is what we love to see. I’ll definitely remember this name because of its spunk. 9/10 “Psycho Killer” has a violent name. But when I look at the playlists that are related to this kind of music, they all feature psycho killer, so I have high expectations. Good bass line. I like how it builds with the instruments it draws attention. I love it. Has some good metaphors. It’s very memorable. Great outro. 10/10 “Pulled Up” has interesting lyrics. But they start being pretty uplifting. Good bouncy tune, less bouncy than “Don’t worry about the government” though. 8/10 “Love➡️Building on Fire” is an interesting metaphor and I’m intrigued to see how they justify it. I do not get the lyrics at all… but it has a great tune. 6/10 “I wish you wouldn’t say that” has a weird psychadelicky background noise. Feels nice to listen to. The ending has a weird yelling bit in the back. 6/10 “I feel it in my heart” has a spunky intro. Has good lyrics. I like the boldness of this song despite the lyrics contradicting it. It’s a catch-22, it’s interesting. 8/10 “Sugar on my tongue” is the last song on this album. I’m excited to see how this album comes to a close. Ooh that’s a nice sound of an intro, winding down, coming to a close. Great bounciness. Just what I expect for an ending song. 9/10 Overall the album is a 4.8/5
The album starts off with a bang which is pretty cool. I don’t know about the vocals and the way Cyndi Lauper sings them though, it’ll probably grow on me. It did. I like the harmonica in the first song. All through the night is pretty good too. Girls just wanna have fun is pretty good Time after time is my favorite song so far Yeah yeah has a GREAT intro
HEY YA I LOVE THIS ALBUM! War has a really good middle section with the fade out and in to a different feeling. The song Church is very good, it has a great flow and drum beat.
Cool album cover The transitions between some of the songs are seamless!!
First song isn’t that good to be honest. Just a weird effect on talking. 2/10 Snuff is the only semi-acceptable song on the album imo, I just don’t like their style.
Seamless transitions. Some vulgar language tbh. So Many Tears is really good. I like the intro to Temptations. They all sound pretty similar though. Very good lyrical flow. Death around the corner is really good
Pretty calming stuff. Words are a little unclear at some parts. The end of Little Bird is really good. I like caravan.
Such a good album but I just wish it was on Spotify ughhhhhhhhh :(((((
Freedom Rider just went boom it’s so good. I was not expecting such an outstanding intro from what I heard the song before. Honestly solid frickin album
Pilgrim is a good song I really like the composition of this album.
Great album, somewhat reminds me of Yusuf Stevens Best Track: Can You Heal Us (Holy Man)
Seamless transitions Reminds me of Sing Street (it has a certain kind of umph to it) It has great instrumentation and vocals
Pretty chill album. I would listen to it to be calm.
Kind of slow towards the end of the album but makes great easy listening
I’m a big fan of this genre and I also love chemical brothers so I’m kinda biased Seamless transitions.
I like the composition of the tracks, I’m a sucker for Paul Simon.
