Van Halen
1/5
Boring repetitive glam hair metal, nothing extra. If you enjoy this genre, it's time to get your prostate examined my friend, Solid one star at best.

Van Halen
1/5
Boring repetitive glam hair metal, nothing extra. If you enjoy this genre, it's time to get your prostate examined my friend, Solid one star at best.
Coldplay
3/5
Way better listen than I anticipated. Pretty dreamy almost gazy parts in some songs. Decent 3 stars, very deserved
Frank Ocean
3/5
Wilco
2/5
average folk rock, nothing much extra to write home about. All the songs sound the same. 2 stars at best
Fleet Foxes
3/5
pretty sounding chamber folk, the songs don't sound the same. Enjoyable listen, just not really my style. I find folk to be quite boring. Still solid 3 stars, I'm pleasantly suprised.
Common
3/5
Turbonegro
3/5
Pink Floyd
3/5
Couple decent songs but a lot of these are just fillers with nothing to add to the album as a whole. Still 3 stars are deserved.
Cyndi Lauper
4/5
suprisingly good rest of the album (meaning anything besides the two songs everyone knows). Enjoyable new wavey pop. deserved 4 stars
Moby
4/5
very good album, especially the first half. second half was kinda meh, kinda just waiting for the album to end. Still solid 4 stars
CHIC
2/5
fairly boring disco, nothing extra. The most commercially succesful song is 8 mins long for no fucking reason, while it could have lasted 4 mins at most and be semi-enjoyable. 2 stars at best, sorry boomers, enjoy your colonoscopy
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
3/5
classic 70s prog, i dont really like that genre this much, but this was album was more enjoyable than I anticipated. Still 3 stars, just not really my style
Talking Heads
3/5
Hole
4/5
some typical late 90s grungey pop bangers, the rest of the album was mid to decent. Still above average album, 4 stars
Fugazi
4/5
4 stars, very solid
Peter Gabriel
4/5
suprisingly good artsy pog pop, didnt expect much when I started listening but the songs are consistently good. Enjoyable, 4 stars
Nitin Sawhney
2/5
Tangerine Dream
2/5
its just ambient, nothing more. Still better than the albums I gave one star
Nas
5/5
classic 90s gangsta rap, aged very well.Still loving it. 5 stars
Talking Heads
3/5
kinda dissapointing consider how hyped this album is on sites like RYM, decent album with 2 catchy songs but nothing more than 3 stars
Public Enemy
3/5
kinda whatever hip hop, sometimes more of an elevator music. Its decent, but besides three songs its so very forgettable
Joy Division
4/5
Lou Reed
4/5
Fishbone
3/5
Brian Eno
2/5
Tracy Chapman
3/5
one of the better folks, has like three of four songs I'd re-listen to. Deserved three stars just because I don't really like folk. I prefer my music to not be a snoozefest
Milton Nascimento
2/5
The 13th Floor Elevators
3/5
suprisingly good 60s psych, still I'm far from liking this genre. So the middle of the pack for me, but I expected this album to be way worse
Billy Joel
3/5
Decent elevator music or nostalgia-filled music for 40+ yo boomers. Either way this album is just in the middle of the pack, not great not terrible. Just not very memorable
2/5
U2's music is just plain boring. It's the first thing you get when you Google the meaning of the word 'boring', it's the kind of music you put on when you're trying to fall asleep. Still later U2's albums prove thatsometimes it is better to be boring than to be straight up horrible, so I give them the 2 stars for that
4/5
nice early baggy britpop, enjoyable sometimes a bit too simple. Still a very good album, deserved a listen
Kate Bush
5/5
very enjoyable art pop, there's much more to this album than just 'that Starnger things song'. Everyone should listen to this album
Traffic
2/5
late 60s/early 70s prog rock and folk rock in general are one of the most boring genres that I cannot enjoy no matter what when being sober. Thank god there were some jazz-ish parts sometimes so person can wake up from the sleep and enjoy something. 2 stars at best
The Blue Nile
3/5
Pulp
5/5
Absolutely stunning album from start to finish. Best britpop album by a mile, not kidding. Do listen to this album, honest advice
Prince
3/5
For soul and R&B its pretty decent... 3 stars
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
Very good 00s garage rock, some songs are crispy, some less but every single song on that album is at least semi-enjoyable. 4 stars
Arcade Fire
3/5
this folk-ish artsy indie rock is/used to be one of the most overhyped albums in the indie culture, now it's somewhat trendy to hate on this. When one listens to this album and actually doesn't fall asleep midway, he himself can hear why it's considered to be overhyped as shit. It's middle of the pack indie, nothing extraordinary or nothing you'd want to claim as your favourite album
Bob Dylan
2/5
Bob Dylan really pioneered the harsh noise with his stupid fucking harmonica
Kanye West
4/5
many good songs, some more fillery.
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
average 70s rock n roll, nothing much else to be said. Average 3 stars
R.E.M.
4/5
very pleasant jangle pop with mumbley lyrics. Very influential album in early 80s indie scene
Fats Domino
3/5
3/5
Ali Farka Touré
1/5
absolute snoozefest, nothing to enjoy in this album
The Killers
4/5
very good early 00s alt/garage revival rock. Much more than like 3 songs everyone know. Recommended
Manu Chao
3/5
suprisingly decent reggae, I expected suffering but got some groovy tunes
Kraftwerk
3/5
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
Amy Winehouse
4/5
great soul-y R&B, good listen throughout the entire album
Eurythmics
2/5
prime example of an album that "has that ONE song that everyone knows so the entire album must be good". No, bigger half of the songs are pure garbage, the rest is average corny 80s synth-pop. Overhyped trash that I would be glad if it wasn't on this list, beacuse this certainly wasn't an album I had to "Listen to before I die".
Gets 2 stars only because Van Halen is even worse
The Cure
4/5
amazing 80s post-punk-ish goth rock. Most of the albums from The Cure don't miss and this one is no exception
Parliament
3/5
Lana Del Rey
3/5
as with every single lana record it's the same three song on repeat. It's a snoozefest that you mildly enjoy
U2
2/5
The Rolling Stones
2/5
David Crosby

The Notorious B.I.G.
3/5
OutKast
3/5
nice funky hip hop, tho the entire album couldve had like one third of all the songs from the album
Bauhaus
4/5
much respect to Bauhaus for experimantal post-punk, paved the way for many bands to-come
The Smashing Pumpkins
5/5
absolutely stunning and amazing 90s gazey grungey alt rock, this is imho one of the best albums ever put out
Isaac Hayes
3/5
pleasant listen to genre I dont usually listen to
The Specials
2/5
ska, that is enough to give this album two stars or less
Teenage Fanclub
3/5
Simon & Garfunkel
3/5
The Verve
4/5
SAULT
2/5
Led Zeppelin
2/5
to this day throughout all the music ive ever listened to Led Zepelin remains one of the single most overhyped rock bands. Maybe its the fact that i hvanet fucked like three whores to immigrant song back in the "golden years of 70s" but this music speaks so little to me. Pointlessly long transitions between parts of the song, Robert's annoying voice that gets put everywhere beacuse it's "another music instrument".
Overall excluding like two songs this album is a snoozefest, maybe they should've left the blues alone.
Bee Gees
3/5
when i first saw the artist i expected some repetitive stereotypical overplayed 70s disco, unaware of the bee gees origins. Honestly with a little tweaking in production quality and bit more creative song structures they could've been a much more than just a band with those like three disco hits. 3 stars
Franz Ferdinand
4/5
amazing post-punk revival. From start to finish almost every song is enjoyable, dancey.
Funkadelic
2/5
Metallica
4/5
good thrash metal classic album, aged very well and is still a banger.
Kanye West
4/5
many good songs, some more fillery.
50 Cent
2/5
stereotypical gangsta-wannabe. It's not as catchy as early Eminem album, not as funky as 90s west coast rap (Snoop, DRE, Nate Dogg etc.). Overall im not suprised his career was relatively shortlived compared to mentioned rappers. This album and 50 Cent brings nothing new to the table, just rides the hype build from his predecessors. Just listen to DMX from this era...
Supertramp
3/5
John Lennon
2/5
its kinda hard with this artist separating the art from the prson that produced it.
The album itself is meh, kinda funny that the two most popular songs are a communist manifesto and a song where John apologizes for "losing control", "feeling insecure". Ye he just "didn't want to hurt you".
Anyway enough about Jom Lemon, everyone's favourite BEATle, this album is good as an elevator music in giant malls
Saint Etienne
3/5
pleasant alt dance, sometimes dream pop-ish. But unfortunately some songs (almost half of them) are a miss. It doesn't get better than the first song. Still 3 stars is deserved
Talking Heads
3/5
kinda dissapointing consider how hyped this album is on sites like RYM, decent album with 2 catchy songs but nothing more than 3 stars
Pretenders
3/5
Fishbone
3/5
Morrissey
2/5
AC/DC
4/5
Brian Wilson
2/5
genuine question, why was this album created? bro was part of one of the biggest 60s bands and then 4 decades later he's like "yo, let's re-release most of the songs from that era cuz i mostly wrote and i need more money. Plus here's some filler songs to add to the album so it's not only Beach Boys songs"
Does this album really need to be on this list?
Wilco
4/5
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
Muddy Waters
2/5
Mudhoney
4/5
amazing late 80s grunge beginnings, one of the most influental albums of the genre.
Bert Jansch
3/5
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
4/5
Syd Barrett
2/5
Radiohead
3/5
overhyped band honestly, besides bends the albums are mediocre depressive british gibberish
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
i feel like the author of this album list lost his virginity while bruce sprinsteen was playing in the background. It's not bad but what's the point of having like 5 Bruce albums. He's not genuienly that interesting artist.
The Who
3/5
The Go-Go's
4/5
Public Enemy
3/5
Bruce Springsteen
4/5
The Stooges
4/5
pleasant early punk

Shuggie Otis
4/5
Charles Mingus
3/5
Femi Kuti
2/5
Fleetwood Mac
4/5
everyone's favourite spanish soap opera band's most commercially succesful album is actually very enjoyable, the filler songs don't sound all that filler-y.
Honestly it's still overhyped (the hype is immense in this album so there's no way the album can live up to it), but deserves to be among the better albums on this list.
Eminem
4/5
geniuenly funny horrorcore rap
Deep Purple
1/5
yeah brother, true music hell yeah. Anyway why was this album on this list. Why was any live album on this list? I regret listening to any of these songs, while they may be average/decent they sound like shit cuz it's recorded from a live concert with a shitty wallmart mic.
"But you gotta feel the atmosphere to appreciate it, hurr durr", bro no. KISS (god i hate that band) tried to put out live album cuz nobody wanted to buy their studio-recorded albums cuz they weren't blackout drunk in the middle of crowd and realised that their music is garabage.
Did Deep Purple think the same? IDK, either way this album blows
Carpenters
3/5
Madonna
1/5
almost 20 years since Madonna debuted, Madonna was basically replaced by autotuned AI version of herself. The only thing she is good at is keeping herself relevant in media with controversial bullshit.
The only song the autotune wasn't as obvious was that cover of American Pie, but let's be honest. That song is equivalent to a war crime.

4/5
my jaw dropped, i regret not hearing of this band earlier, little bit digging into their history and finding that they've been basically cucked by aussie radio managers is saddening. These guys are great, no doubt about it
