Icy, electronic pioneers,
Behind the drunken singalong big hits, some interesting homages to synthy 80s New Romantic posturing, albeit with a bit too much guitar for my liking. Also Brandon Flowers was hot. Reminds me of jumping up and down at misshapes on a Thursday night in the early 2000s. For the same vibe but better, prefer Ezra Furman, the Strokes or Franz Ferdinand
Fascinating back story, left to perform on a rehearsal piano, rather than the grand piano he expected, Jarrett abandoned his planned set and improvised for more than an hour. Interspersed by his on yelps as he surprises even himself. Still, interesting more because of his technical virtuosity and the chaotic circumstances behind its creation.
Feels like being 16
Prefer Mezzanine to be honest
