Popular Reviews

Wild Gift by X

Excellent! The blend of male and female vox works really well.

Tidal by Fiona Apple

How has this been reviewed so highly?! It's one of the most drab records I've ever heard. The songs were all excessively long, and sleep inducingly dull. I consider myself to have a very broad music taste but this was near unlistenable for me.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake

I adore this album. Solumn, simplistic, introspective and beautiful.

Tago Mago by Can

I wasn't expecting to like this but the whole album had me somewhere between captivated and vibing! Weirdly wonderful.

Excellent! Has left me wondering why I've never listened to Tom Petty before!

This album started as a 1 star, then upped to a 4 star, now I'm giving it the full 5! My mistake was thinking Pink Floyd would be an easy band, they're not, with so much to unpack first listen can feel like a right chore but I urge anyone rating this low to try it again and again. I'm on my 4th listen and its gets better every time. It doesn't top Wish You Were Here or The Wall for me but I can absolutely see why its so well loved. I'm well and truly down a Pink Floyd rabbit hole and loving it!

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Aug 09 2025

I'm not sure what other people are hearing that I'm not, didn't enjoy this at all.

Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Aug 14 2025

Why are so many people hating on this! Its pretty good! Not worthy of a majority 1 ⭐️ reviews! Bluesy, noisy, adlibbed-ish, nice grooves, quirky and fun! The lyrics go between the absurd and the obscene! While not my new favourite bad, I enjoyed it!

Low by David Bowie
Aug 27 2025
Jan 21 2026

His voice is nice enough but gosh its a bit drab and depressing. Wiki made it sound so good too!

Elephant by The White Stripes
Feb 03 2026
Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Feb 06 2026

Easy enough to listen to and I really like James' voice however, I found some tracks got lost into background noise. Would listen again but probably wouldn't buy on vinyl!

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Feb 12 2026

Not for me, I'm not keen on roots rock at the best of time and this record just hasn't aged well. I definitely feel some albums on this list are here for the influence they had on the wider genre rather than how good they are in their own right. This might have sounded great in 1973 but in 2026 its a dated bore and the excessive use of the N word in the first track is just cringe inducing.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Feb 14 2026

Very surprised by how much I like this as I'm not keen on reggae but I love the mellow tones, his voice is fantastic. I found myself getting really lost in the vibes.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Feb 17 2026

I must admit I didnt listen but I know bits of Kendrick's music and its just not for me - crass and vulgar. No way I was going to put myself through over an hour of this! Don't like hip hop beyond conscious artists like Kae Tempest who actually have something to say that I want to hear!

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Feb 25 2026

I definitely don't love it, but I dont absolutely hate it. One listen is plenty though.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 28 2026
Timeless by Goldie
Mar 01 2026

I guess it was probably influential within its genre but its a hard no from me. Nevermind "Timeless" it just felt endless!

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Mar 13 2026

Not sure how a bloke who never penned one word or note of his own music can be on this list. It was okay in parts, the last tracks rock n roll bits were quite fun but ruined by all the random interludes. Overall just feels like every rock cliché rolled into one album. 2 stars cos I did find myself bopping along a few times.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Mar 15 2026

This was a challenge! I don't particularly like soul at the best of times so to be thrown into an hour and 45 minutes of mid tempo soul was a little overbearing. I didnt hate it but I did think most of the songs could have been half the length they were.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mar 18 2026

Not for me, never particularly like the RHCP and this went on for far too long and ended upnfeeling like background noise not the focus of my attention. 2 cos I Under the Bridge is a cool tune.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Mar 19 2026

How has this been reviewed so highly?! It's one of the most drab records I've ever heard. The songs were all excessively long, and sleep inducingly dull. I consider myself to have a very broad music taste but this was near unlistenable for me.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Mar 21 2026

How is this rated so highly! Can people not hear how bad his voice is! Did not listen, will not listen - over an hour of his voice would likely make my ears fall off!

The Cars by The Cars
Mar 24 2026

Tailed off a bit in the middle but overall very good with some definite bangers!

Atomizer by Big Black
Mar 25 2026

Wow! This is fab! Yup, as the negative reviews say it is "just noise" gloriously erratic, angular, reverb drenched, make your ears bleed abrasive noise but thats the point! Its not an easy listen and nor is it meant to be! This is fight music, wind your soul up and ignite a fire you didnt know you had. Loved it.

evermore by Taylor Swift
Mar 26 2026

Absolutely not, I refuse to listen to this woman. Worst thing to ever happen to music.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Mar 30 2026

Didnt offend me, but didnt set my world on fire either. 2.5/5

Blackstar by David Bowie
Apr 01 2026

Not the easiest listen, very artistic and creative, lots of texture mixing experimental jazz and rock it was never going to be an album for the casual listener but for fans of Bowie's work its sublime, a wonderfully, uneasy, parting gift for his fans.

Parklife by Blur
Apr 04 2026

Its a decent album from the Britpop era but I'll always be Team Gallagher!

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Apr 06 2026

The other tracks on the album didnt live up to the expectation set by Come on Eileen. Not bad but left me a bit disappointed.

Woodface by Crowded House
Apr 12 2026

I always forget just how much I like Crowded House.

Cupid & Psyche 85 by Scritti Politti
Apr 13 2026

Its not as awful as its global rating suggests, it just hasnt aged very well - sounds super dated and not in a nostalgic way, a bit too 80s cheese.

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Apr 16 2026

It was okay, not the easiest album. Cant get on with modern prog always feels too erratic. Didn't make me want to turn if off but I'll also never listen again.

Cross by Justice
Apr 19 2026

No for me, just churning, obnoxious noise. Far better examples of influential electronica out there.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Apr 20 2026

Its pleasant enough and easy to listen to but I'm struggling to see what's influencial enough about it to see it included on this list.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
May 02 2026
May 06 2026

2 rap albums in 2 day, my poor ears! That said while not to my taste I like Public Enemy significantly more than NWA. As least these lot have something to say more than just swearing.

May 07 2026

Its alright, but rap/hip-hop just isnt for me however much of a classic it is. The constant use of slurs got really tedious, really quick.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
May 09 2026

I enjoyed this far more than I expected. Its a surprisingly easy listen given its a foreign language album and I usually put most of my value in the lyrics. That said I know I'll never listen again. Was nice to try something out of my comfort zone.

2112 by Rush
May 13 2026
GI by Germs
May 17 2026

Its okay, not a gleaming example of punk. I think Milo Goes to College or How Could Hell Be Any Worse? are way more worthy of a place on this list.

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
May 20 2026

Gosh this was hardwork, felt endless. Not for me.

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
May 22 2026

I like a bit of reverb and distortion but youcan definitely have too much of a good thing as this album proves. That said I still enjoyed it.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
May 24 2026

Love this!

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
May 26 2026

Not sure how this has been rated so highly! Its inoffensive, and pleasant enough but nothing revolutionary and hella dated.

Cut by The Slits
Jun 03 2026
Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jun 07 2026

I love the weirdness!

Jun 11 2026

Didn't listen. I'm very hit and miss on rap and if this is all profanity and dissing women I know I'll hate it so I'm not wasting an hour of my life on it.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention

Murmur by R.E.M.

One World by John Martyn
Jul 03 2026

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jul 04 2026

Loved the sound, her voice is amazing but the lyrical content of the whole album is a little too depressing.

Tago Mago by Can
Jul 11 2026

I wasn't expecting to like this but the whole album had me somewhere between captivated and vibing! Weirdly wonderful.
