Popular Reviews

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan

I just cannot understand, why Dylan is adored by so many people all over the world. I really gave him chances over the last two decades, but it does not work out for me and him. This might be the album I „like“ the most. It has some solid Tracks, but Mr. Dylans „singing“ just does not work for me. Plus, every time I hear a harmonica, it feels like waterboarding. Sorry… Fav: I want you

Thriller by Michael Jackson

I try to see the art apart from the artist, to a certain amount of my own moral point of views. That being said, I just cannot listen to songs named "Baby be mine" or "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" by Michael Jackson, without an awful pain in my stomach. So, the album might musically be real good, but that is not what I am rating here, as I cannot and will not listen to it, again.

Dog Man Star by Suede

I like the dark athmosphere of this record, which is very different to many other records that came out in this period in the UK. But the overexpressed singing, almost like in musicals, did not do it for me. Fav: Heroine

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure

A classic. A Forest is one of their best Songs ever. Although this album is great, the made Even better ones later on.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald

What a stupid idea to feature an „Album“ that runs three and a half hours. Did not listen to it.

Nice. Fav: God only knows

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jul 11 2025

I did not know, what to expect, knowing only Elvis‘ recent music. It is classic Rock and Roll, some Soul and RnB and sometimes it sounds like it was written for TV sitcoms. Fav: Welcome to the working week

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jul 15 2025

I do not think, the Stones and I will come together any time… Fav: Paint it black

The Coral by The Coral
Jul 16 2025

A surprise. When it came out I read it was retro and psychedelic and I was turned off. Was I stupid (again), it’s beautiful! Fav: Skeleton Key

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

Not the best by Sabbath, but a classic. RIP Ozzy!!! Fav: Supernaut

Stankonia by OutKast
Jul 25 2025

In Utero by Nirvana
Jul 28 2025

So much better than Nevermind. Fav: Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Jul 30 2025

Again, Mr Costello used some sounds that were common (Alt Rock) at the time of this Album. It’s good he did, otherwise the songs would have been too similar. Fav: Kinder Murder

Jul 31 2025

So many classics and, of course, one of the best Pop Songs ever written. Fav: Bohemian Rhapsody

Green by R.E.M.
Aug 04 2025

Aug 08 2025

A classic. Although I am not a fan of including live albums in this collection. Fav: Space Truckin‘ (But only the first five minutes)

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Aug 11 2025

I just cannot understand, why Dylan is adored by so many people all over the world. I really gave him chances over the last two decades, but it does not work out for me and him. This might be the album I „like“ the most. It has some solid Tracks, but Mr. Dylans „singing“ just does not work for me. Plus, every time I hear a harmonica, it feels like waterboarding. Sorry… Fav: I want you

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 14 2025

Poor Amy made so many wrong decisions in her career and in her life. R.I.P. Fav: -

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Aug 15 2025

Some kind of folk album by Mrs Harvey. The stripped down song arrangements are pretty nice, most of the time (well, not the trumpet. I know what she wanted to say, but it's hard to endure). Unfortunately, I do not like her singing on four or five songs. That is a pity, when the voice is clearly the most important thing on a Lo-Fi record. The lyrics...well, they gave nothing to me. I don't wanna say, they are bad, but I really feel no need to dive deeper into war themes and countries invading other countries, right at this time. But this is not Mrs Harvey's fault. So I am conluding with the old british saying: Make tea, not love! Fav: The words that maketh murder

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Aug 18 2025

.

Aug 19 2025

I was a little afraid to listen to this Album, that I was growing up with, 25 years later. But what can I say...still one of the best Hip Hop albums I know. The Beats are brilliant and raw, Chuck D one of the best MCs. Flavour Flav annoying at times, but without him it would not be Public Enemy. Fav: She watch channel zero?!

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Aug 20 2025

I like it. Oldschool, often minimalistic beats made only with percussion. The lyrics a sometimes a little childish, ironic but the things you hear in newer rap songs are already here. Fav: It's like that

Hotel California by Eagles
Aug 21 2025

It's too much. Everything about this Album is too much. It is too overproduced for a solid Rock record, too boring to be remembered (except for two tracks), too many recorded tracks on most of the songs and the lyrics are too bad. They can thank Big Lebowski, that they are still around. A meme, that's what it is. Fav: Life in the fast lane

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Aug 22 2025

Quite a surprise. Did not expect anything (was even a little afraid of the record, but it was fun. The songs remind of 00er Indie-Songs, Foals "Antidots" came to mind and the lyrics are frightenly accurate for present times. Keyboards/Synths sound a little trashy sometime, but it was 1981. I like it. Fav: Geisha Boys and Temple Girls

Aug 25 2025

More of the Same. Second half of the Album is way better than the first, but still not my cup of tea. Fav: It‘s alright, Ma (I‘m only bleeding)

Station To Station by David Bowie
Aug 26 2025

None of his big hits on this album, but it works pretty well as a whole. Some spheric and repetitive elements which were new in his sound cosmos, but it fits. Not my favourite by Bowie, but a good one. Fav: Station to Station

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Aug 27 2025

That's the music your parents (or probably grandparents?!) put on, when they were making love in the seventies. Fav: Let's stay together

Konnichiwa by Skepta
Aug 28 2025

Never heard of Skepta, but while hearing I recognized two "songs". Most of the songs sound very similar, nice QOTSA-Sample, though. My neighbour has a DAW, and the beats he is "producing" sound pretty much the same as on this record. Well... Fav: Shutdown

Hms Fable by Shack
Aug 29 2025

I was surprised I did not know the band. Some Brit Pop/Rock with rich instrumentation, sometimes too much. Mostly harmless. Fav: Daniella

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Sep 01 2025

I know, I know, it‘s the King. But…meh. Fav: Blue suede shoes

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Sep 02 2025

Times were different. Fav: -

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Sep 03 2025

Reminds of CCR, Allman Brothers and the Strokes. Not perfect but waaayyyy better than the mainstream trash they were releasing years later. Fav: Trani

Sep 04 2025

These guys were insane in their very own and positive way. Did not care about genres or styles and just did what they wanted. I also like the fact, that they put 43 songs on that album, just because they wanted to cash in more money off Spotify streams. F*ck the System, Yeah!

Sep 05 2025

Wow. Second try for TV on the Radio. This time it clicked, I gave the songs the time to develop and it was amazing. A wild mixture of Indie, Soul, Post-Rock, A Capella...you name it. It goes together so well. Fav: Dreams

Sea Change by Beck
Sep 08 2025

Never been into Beck, but this Album is great, although i read, that it is not representative for his other work. Anyways, good one. Fav: End of the day

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Sep 10 2025

I try to see the art apart from the artist, to a certain amount of my own moral point of views. That being said, I just cannot listen to songs named "Baby be mine" or "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" by Michael Jackson, without an awful pain in my stomach. So, the album might musically be real good, but that is not what I am rating here, as I cannot and will not listen to it, again.

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Sep 11 2025

...meanwhile at the production meeting: "So how about you, playing some songs that are already famous?! But maybe we add something new to it..like screaming?" Fav: The Witch

Sep 12 2025

One of my earliest MTV-memories is the clip "Tennessee" by Arrested Development. I loved it back then as a ten year old. Still love it. Great album. Fav: Tennessee

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Sep 15 2025

I gotta focus more on the positive things: Gimme shelter is a good song. Fav: Gimme shelter

1999 by Prince
Sep 16 2025

This did not age very well. The long instrumental parts, songs are very long, sound boring nowadays. Fav: Little red corvette

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Sep 17 2025

Man, was I sad when Kyuss called it quits. But man, was I happy when Mr. Homme returned with that album. Fav: You Can't Quit Me Baby

Odessa by Bee Gees
Sep 18 2025

In his few best moments, this album sounds like a plain rip-off from the Beatles. The rest is hard to listen to. And the lyrics? Come on…

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Sep 19 2025

Pardon my french, but this is boring af. Fav: rien

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Sep 22 2025

Not bad, I would not call it prog. More like when dad wants somerhing more challenging on the weekend. I liked it. Fav: Dreamer

Synchronicity by The Police
Sep 23 2025

They ended on the highest note. Great album. Fav: Tea in the Sahara

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Sep 24 2025

My Grampa always says: there is not enough anus in todays music. Now I know what he means. Fav: Get it on

Purple Rain by Prince
Sep 25 2025

His best Album, imho. More organic, more rock and really good Songs. Fav: When doves cry

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Sep 26 2025

Never heard of Dirty Projectors, but it blew my mind. Finding an album like this is the reason, why I joined this club. Fav: Remade Horizon

Illmatic by Nas
Sep 29 2025

Overdose on N-Word? Besides that, it was not as bad as expected.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Sep 30 2025

Not a fan of Jazz and especially not when a Big Band is involved. So sorry...

Who's Next by The Who
Oct 01 2025

Great rock Album and probably The Who`s best Album. Fav: Won't get fooled again

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Oct 02 2025

Perfection! Fav: Born under punches (The heat goes on)

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Oct 03 2025

Grew up with Post-Punk and this is really nice. I like the wavy influences. Fav: Dumb waiters

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 07 2025

If you‘re looking for Dad Rock, this is for you! Fav: Something in the Night

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Oct 08 2025

Okay, did not expect them to appear here. It's trash.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Oct 09 2025

No idea why this album is featured. Some generic, boring sixties band, like many others.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Oct 10 2025

Hm, this sounds conspiciously like Lurleen Lumpkin, but worse.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Oct 13 2025

A voice like no other. Some songs pretty similar to others, but not bad. Fav: Four Women

Oct 14 2025

Great album with strong retro-vibe, but sounds so modern at the same time. Fav: Electric Feel

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Oct 15 2025

Did not stand the test of time. Oh, and f*ck Eric Clapton.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Oct 16 2025

Love it. Lo-Fi, guitar and drums but such great songs. Fav: Hotel Yorba

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Oct 20 2025

Not into Reggae. But aside from this, I think the songs are rather boring, all samey and without songwriting „finesse“. Maybe you need to be stoned to like it. Idk.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Oct 21 2025

Hearing „Cinnamon Girl“, probably Young‘s heaviest song, got me hoping for a fine Album (although the cover by Type O Negative is soooo much better). But then the old Neil came back with his songs somewhere between Country and Rock and Roll Solo-Guitar masturbation. What‘s hilarious is, the one song, where he is singing about killing his wife/girlfriend. And then in the next song he is crying about how hard love hit him and what a poor mf he is, now that she is gone. LOL. Fav: Cinnamon Girl

Oct 22 2025

I wanted to like Devo very badly, but somehow it did not click. But I guess it‘s okay. Fav: Uncontrollable Urge

Violator by Depeche Mode
Oct 23 2025

Track 2: Sweetest Perfection …says it all. Fav: Enjoy the silence

Brothers by The Black Keys
Oct 24 2025

I love the Black Keys, but this is one of their weakest Albums, imo. The Songs feel a little harmless and three or four songs less would have been better. Fav: Howlin‘ for you

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Oct 27 2025

Okay, I did not expect that, but I really enjoyed this Album. Well, maybe except the high pitch tremolo singing, but I heard outstanding bass playing, nice harmony guitar leads and really good songs. The lyrics are goofy, but they could be worse. Nice. Fav: Children of the damned

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Oct 28 2025

Not as good as four, but on a level with three. On some days as good as one. Fav: Bring it on home

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Oct 29 2025

Not as good as I remembered it, but still solid. Fav: War Dance

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Oct 30 2025

Yes, that was boring and repetitive. The lyrics are a little, well, one dimensional!? Fav: That‘ll be the way

Tago Mago by Can
Oct 31 2025

I guess you have to be in the right mood or have the right substances to appreciate this Album, the way it deserves. First couple of tracks are way ahead of their time and are foreshadowing later alternative and experimental music. After that it gets totally weird and hard to listen to. But the closer is great again. Fav: Bring me coffee or tea

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Nov 03 2025

Probably the best live Album ever recorded. JC owns this prison. Fav: A Boy named Sue

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Nov 04 2025

Great Album. Experimental tunes stand beside great catchy rock/pop songs. Fav: The Murder Mystery

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Nov 05 2025

I slowly come to believe that Mr Costello made up the 1001 Albums project to support his own music. I think this is the third Album I listen to. Again, no masterpiece but not too bad either. Fav: Goon Squad

Fuzzy Logic by Super Furry Animals
Nov 07 2025

Just listened to the Album an can‘t remember anything.

Ramones by Ramones
Nov 10 2025

Ramones have always been the „epic“ Punk band, I liked the least. Songs sound very samey and the overall sound feels pretty harmless. There were better band options imho. Fav: Let‘s dance

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Nov 11 2025

What a stupid idea to feature an „Album“ that runs three and a half hours. Did not listen to it.

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Nov 12 2025

This is boring as can be. Oh, and f*ck Eric Clapton.

The Yes Album by Yes
Nov 13 2025

They can play and sing it all. Unfortunately I get the feeling, that they did not care much about writing good songs. It is more like "hey, I got 173 ideas, let's play them one after another and call it an Album". And like this their musical abilities become a showing off of their skills, which bores me after some time. But there are really beatiful parts in certain tracks.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Nov 14 2025

I really like the later Beastie Boys. This is annoying at best. Sometimes the songs feel like they couple be a new one by The Lonely Island, which isn‘t a good thing.

Odelay by Beck
Nov 18 2025

So many different genres, and Beck does em all. Dancy and melancholic, some Folk, some Rock, Electro and HipHop. Great one. Fav: Devil's Haircut

Kenza by Khaled
Nov 19 2025

Boring mainstream pop with some oriental influences. Not special.

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Nov 20 2025

Album doesn't hurt nobody. From a music theory standpoint, the songs are very interesting and "Superstition" is a banger. Fav: Superstition

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Nov 21 2025

Sorry, the sax makes it almost unhearable for me. Had to cut it.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Nov 24 2025

I was afraid to listen to this Album. So big, such a reference, but what was I to think? I think, if you let yourself fall into it, it can change your life, it can be more than music or a hell of a lot of single notes. At the same time, I totally get, that you cannot see more than some guys doing weird, disharmonic stuff. I also think that at some moments it gets too repetitive, too long and too caught in itself. But overall, it is the best jazz Album I know. Fav: Bitches Brew

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Nov 25 2025

One of my favourite bands, great Album! Fav: Weird fishes / Arpeggi

Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
Nov 26 2025

Some people listen to podcasts to fall asleep, others take medicine. I strongly recommend this album.

90 by 808 State
Nov 27 2025

Wow, that‘s bad stuff.

John Prine by John Prine
Nov 28 2025

Yeeeeeehaaaah!!!

Dec 01 2025

Classic. Little overplayed with obvious flaws. Covers are better than their own songs, so good choice. Fav: Jesus don't want me for a sunbeam

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Dec 02 2025

A live recording of lots of Daddy rocking tunes, at best consumed in an irish pub. Fav: Massacre

Lost Souls by Doves
Dec 03 2025

Quiet Indie-Rock, bit boring at times. You need to be in the right mood for it. Fav: Catch the sun

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Dec 04 2025

Words cannot describe how boring this is. You have to fall asleep yourself.

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Dec 05 2025

I usually like simpler song structures, but here the melodies and songs often feel a bit naive. The lyrics are pretty good, but the singer tries a little too much to sound really cool, you know? Fav: I‘m straight

American Idiot by Green Day
Dec 08 2025

This was a big letdown for me back then. Haven‘t checken them out since.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Dec 09 2025

MJ was a bad man!

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Dec 10 2025

Nice athmospheric Indie tunes. Really enjoyed it.

Third by Soft Machine
Dec 11 2025

Jammy Jazz Rock, highly experimental with bad sound quality. Some parts are genius, some worse with naive, dull melodies. You have to be in the mood...

OK Computer by Radiohead
Dec 12 2025

Probably the best Album that ever got made. Fav: Paranoid Android

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Dec 15 2025

Never heard of Mrs Monáe before. Her debut is a wild mix of different styles and genres, which are masterly connected and celebrated by Mrs. Monáe, who has a beautiful voice. Really surprised and delighted. Fav: BabopbyeYa

2112 by Rush
Dec 16 2025

Musical and composatory mastership. If only the songs were a bit more memorable.

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Dec 17 2025

Didn‘t expect anything from this „R&B-Record“, not knowing about Kelela. But this Album isn‘t a plain R&B mainstream album, it‘s superb. Athmosperic, electronic and unconventionell Beats plus Kelelas great voice makes this Album great. Fav: Onanon

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Dec 19 2025

Classic! If only it had two or three fillers less, it would be perfect. Fav: Gigantic

Parachutes by Coldplay
Dec 22 2025

By far their best Album, imho. Catchy, melancholic songs, dig it. Fav: Shiver

Moondance by Van Morrison
Dec 23 2025

From Wiki: "I had to forget about the artistic thing because it didn't make sense on a practical level. One has to live." What a slap against his own work and his „consumers“. Lol. But yes, album is pretty boring.

Dec 24 2025

Really chilled, moody stuff, written for a great dark movie. It has a strong jazzy retro vibe, it´s almost lounge music. Fav: Playground love

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Dec 29 2025

I love this Album.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dec 30 2025

Chili Peppers go stadium Rock. Hard not to like it, cause the songs, at least on the first half of the album, are very nice. Fav: Scar tissue

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Dec 31 2025

Not my type of music, everything pretty samey.

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Jan 01 2026

Lyrically another monothematic album, which unfortunately sounds pretty samey.

Face to Face by The Kinks
Jan 02 2026

A fine rock Album. Fav: Sunny afternoon

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jan 05 2026

More „classic jazz tunes“ than I expected. Somehow I considered Mr Hancock to be more of an early electro pioneer, what will follow, I guess. The Jams are, well, long. There are some pretty nice and grooving moments, but Most of the time it just flows by.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jan 06 2026

Great Album, a little more quiet than the previous records. Fav: Gallows Pole

Dog Man Star by Suede
Jan 07 2026

I like the dark athmosphere of this record, which is very different to many other records that came out in this period in the UK. But the overexpressed singing, almost like in musicals, did not do it for me. Fav: Heroine

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Jan 08 2026

The Album isn't for me. Songs are ok, but nothing special. And the spoken word bits are really annoying. Fav: Lazy Sunday

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jan 09 2026

Straight Blues Rock Album. No "Hits" on it, but it has a nice flow. Fav: Waiting for the sun

All Directions by The Temptations
Jan 12 2026

Not a fan of Funk, boring to me. We have some Funk songs and some ballads and the typical Motown production, which does not help the Album. Fav: Papa was a rollin´ stone (if it was eight minutes shorter)

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 13 2026

Great Album with one of my alltime favourite songs. But they will have even better records… Fav: Norwegian Wood

Arular by M.I.A.
Jan 14 2026

Great Album. Fav: Pull up the people

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jan 15 2026

What a cruel mix of Dance, Trip Hop, Psychedelia and Rock. Not for me.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Feb 12 2026

I loved the older albums by Hole, I also like this one but it has a completely different vibe than the others. Much brighter, more pop and some of their best songs. Also the lyrics are remarkably good. Fav: Malibu

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Feb 13 2026

They have done it better, they‘ve done it worse. It‘s okay, I guess. Fav: -

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Feb 16 2026

African Bluesrock Album, that is the best when it embraces african influences. Also some Standard Blues Songs on it. Fav: Al hassidi terei

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 17 2026

All the Hits on this record. Bruce is a nice guy and is saying and doing all the right thinks in this dark days. The music is pretty boring to ok. Fav: Dancing in the dark

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Feb 18 2026

IMO the second best Album by MSP. It contains the probably best pop song ever written. Fav: A design for Life

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Feb 20 2026

I don‘t like every Song on the record, still find it outstanding. Fav: Pyramid Song

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Feb 23 2026

Sometimes it can be so easy. Fav: Blue Orchid

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Feb 24 2026

This is as boring as it gets. Music that wifes get beaten up to in movies. Oh…and f*ck Eric Clapton.

Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys
Feb 26 2026

Interesting. It has a sixties-vibe, reminds me on Krautrock at times but ist also a tight rock album at the same time. Fav: You`ll have to go sideways

Medúlla by Björk
Feb 27 2026

If you do not like her voice or the unique way she songs, you‘re out. Totally get that. Especially because all the noises here are human voices, some manipulated by effects some don‘t. It’s an avantgardistic, but surprisingly catchy album. Fav: Where is the line

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Mar 02 2026

I understand the influence they are to so many heavier bands. But when I listen to it, it has quite a lot of flaws. Very long songs, solos a pretty boring (I am not a solo guy) and that annoying organ. On the other hand, solid riffs and nice leads. Fav: Into the fire

Metallica by Metallica
Mar 03 2026

Metallica for the masses. Great Album, but not as good as the ones before. Fav: Wherever I may roam

Microshift by Hookworms
Mar 04 2026

What a gem. Never heard of Hookworms before, but it's magnificient. At the same time, it's complicated, poppy, introverted, playful and has odd timings. An Album just like me. Fav: Negative Space

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Mar 05 2026

Not their best Album, but a solid Indie-Dance record. Not a Great great fan of the Voice and some synths. Fav: Flutes

Rocks by Aerosmith
Mar 06 2026

That was more boring than I expected. Guess they are a singles band.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 09 2026

Reminds me of my childhood, hearing that in my parents car all the time. Fav: Proud Mary

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Mar 10 2026

Hm, nowadays this record sounds like the parody of itself. It was top notch when it came out, but I fear it did not age very well. I get some Lonely Island vibes here and there. :D Fav: Looking down the barrel of a gun

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Mar 11 2026

A classic. A Forest is one of their best Songs ever. Although this album is great, the made Even better ones later on.

Smash by The Offspring
Mar 12 2026

First listen after at least 20 years and it still kicks. This is one of the albums I grew up with and I still like it. Although I doesn't have the same feelings than back then, it gave me a warm feeling of nostalgia. Fav: Smash

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Mar 13 2026

Love everything about Q-Tip. Flow, Style, lyrics and attitude. The Beats jazzy and funky, really nice.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Mar 16 2026

This might be the Bowie-Album I like the least. The switch to more Pop and Soul music and the omnipresent Sax...too much for me. And the cover version of "Across the universe" is unnecessary, IMO. Fav: Fame

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Mar 17 2026

Beautiful Songs. Fav: River

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Mar 18 2026

Nope, don‘t get it.

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
Mar 19 2026

This is so boring, lyrics and music are predictable from the first seconds of every song. Poor, heartbroken fcukers.

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
Mar 20 2026

Brings back memories… I loved this Album, the melancholy and the quirky little songs between Lo-Fi Songwriting and Brit Pop. Was a pleasure to listen to. Fav: Once around the block

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 23 2026

Some beautiful songs on the Album, some mediocre ones. I wanted to give 4 points, but I give 3, because of the poor imitation of the even poorer Bob Dylan. Fav: Scarborough Fair/Canticle

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Mar 24 2026

Reminds me on The Beatles or the Kinks, and has always a melancholic vibe with it, which I dig. A shame they were not successful enough to go on. Fav: Time of the Season

Leftism by Leftfield
Mar 25 2026

Fav: Open up

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Mar 26 2026

Under normal circumstances I am all in when it comes to crossing different styles over. But this here is just plain boring. Not a fan Country Music, and the way it is finalised on this Album is just…meh.

One World by John Martyn
Mar 27 2026

I don‘t know. I like some Echo effects on the guitars, but that’s about it. The Album is often described as esoteric or ambient, I think it’s pretty boring.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Mar 30 2026

Very interesting record, dealing with some „pulpy“ topics. The music mirrors this and gets darker and experimental, well at least in the cosmos of the Temptations. :D Fav: Runaway child, running wild

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Mar 31 2026

Probably my favourite Album by PF. Space athmosphere and master musicianship. Love it. Fav: Wish You were here

Timeless by Goldie
Apr 01 2026

Some generic Drum and Bass stuff, the sound of Dancehalls in the 90s :D I guess I am too sober to enjoy this.

Mask by Bauhaus
Apr 02 2026
Highly Evolved by The Vines
Apr 03 2026

Really loved this when it came out, somewhere between The Strokes and Nirvana, musically. Unfortunately all Albums after this one were mediocre to bad. Fav: Get free

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Apr 06 2026

Solid Album musically, a little too much praising the Lord, imo. Fav: What‘s going on

Debut by Björk
Apr 07 2026

It’s a great Album, her sound is so unique, you can tell in the first seconds, that a Björk song is coming. Maybe her housiest Record, but that’s okay. I don’t give 5 points, cause her best albums are to come. Fav: Venus as a Boy

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Apr 08 2026

Fine Post Punk Record. Fav: All Mod Cons

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Apr 10 2026

Classic Album, a role model for a lot of garage and folky alternative Bands. Fav: Blister in the sun

Apr 14 2026

My favourite of the American Recordings, when Mr Cash sings "Hurt" I am getting goosebumps for years. RIP Mr. Cash. Fav: Hurt

Apr 15 2026

I have to split my rating. Speakerboxxx is up there with the worst Albums I have ever heard. It’s so bad. 1/5 The Love below is better, it has the hits and it feels musically balanced. Liked it, but it has too much songs and running time. 3/5 Fav: My favorite things

Marquee Moon by Television
Apr 16 2026

A great inspiration for countless Indie and Alternative Rockbands. Really good songs with long instrumental passages and a dark athmosphere. If only I liked the singers voice more... Fav: Marquee Moon

We all know that one song, right? The Album is surprisingly tasty, combining pop, R&B and gospel. And there is Mr. D‘Arbys very unique voice. Unfortunately you can hear pretty well, that all this was produced in the 80s, which does take it away a little for me. But overall it is better than expected. Fav: As yet untitled

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Apr 20 2026

Record starts of with some great songs, but then it gets quite repetitive, which is a problem I have with many 60s Records. But then the mighty "California Dreamin`" comes somewhere in the middle of the record. Banger of a song.

Apr 21 2026

Start of the record with the singles is great. Then it gets a little unconventionell, unfortunatley not all songs hit. But I like it a lot. Fav: With or without you

Diamond Life by Sade
Apr 23 2026

The everpresent saxophone makes it almost impossible for me to listen to this record. Sade‘s voice is the clear center, framed by pretty boring soul standard. Fav: Hang on to your love

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Apr 24 2026

Half a Bowie Album, written in their wild years in Berlin. It’s like the unwashed brother of Ziggy Stardust, and it has Hits! Fav: The Passenger

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Apr 27 2026

Early Beatles, looking from today, are a beat band with pretty good songs. Not more and not less. Fav: Can‘t buy me love

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
Apr 29 2026

A classic, I know. But tbh, you know one song you know them all.

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
May 01 2026

I like the psychedelia entering the folky pop songs. Not a fan of the brass section, but dig the voice of the lead singer. Kinda reminds me of Nick Drake. Fav: Mind Gardens

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
May 04 2026

Good Album, not every Song hits, but overall I felt entertained. Fav: Court and Spark

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
May 05 2026

Really nice. A shame I don‘t speak spanish. Fav: Plástico

Roxy Music by Roxy Music
May 06 2026

Not as good as I expected, reminded me on Bowie several times. Some songs feel a little random, without a good idea. And then there is this Sax…well. Fav: If there is something

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Jun 03 2026

It’s not too good, the blues influence feels wrong. The praise of having the best wife and Family in the world annoys me. Most important, the Songs are boring and don’t „amaze me“! :D Fav: Maybe I‘m amazed

Fun House by The Stooges
Jun 04 2026

Great Album. Fav: Dirt

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Jun 05 2026

If I had to rate this in 1998 it was a 5/5. But with the follow ups, I have to rate a bit lower. Fav: Suggestions

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jun 08 2026

Cannot find words that describe, how boring this is.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jun 10 2026

Knowing Funkadelic only by name, I did not expect a psychedelic rock album. Raw, chaotic and also a little funky. Like it. Fav: Maggot Brain

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jun 11 2026

Recorded 50 Years ago (!!!) this year. Great album, it`s esoteric, psychedelic and electronic at the same time. Never heard an e-Album, that sounds so organic. Fav: Oxygène, Pt. 4

Bossanova by Pixies
Jun 15 2026

The Pixies at their peak. I love the melodies, the chaos, the screaming, feedback and the pop appeal. Such an influence to other bands, also. Fav: All over the world

Jun 16 2026

The best of him, so far. „Btw, how many Albums by Mr. Dylan are featured here?“ -„Yes!“ Fav: Oxford Town

Achtung Baby by U2
Jun 17 2026

I never got into this Album, it`s not bad, but one of the weaker albums by U2, imo. Fav: The Fly

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jun 18 2026
american dream by LCD Soundsystem
Jun 19 2026

How much can you sound like the Talking Heads? James Murphy: „Hold my prune juice!“ Fav: Call the police

Dookie by Green Day
Jun 22 2026

It might not be one of the best albums, but definetly the one that influenced me the most, when I was young. After hearing this record, I got into Punkrock and discovered all time faves like Bad Religion, NOFX, Black Flag,… So, thanks! Fav: Chump

Jun 30 2026

I dont like the attitude and the arrogance of the Gallaghers and I would take Blur, Pulp, Suede, Supergrass, etc. over Oasis any time. Totally overrated, imo. The rating is not so bad, cause the album contains my favourite Song by them. Fav: Champagne Supernova

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jul 01 2026

Album that defined my youth, but only the third best Album by Nirvana, imo. Totally overplayed, but great songs. Fav: Lithium
