This is not my era, but the album does hold up extremely well.
My expectations were low, but this was better than I expected. A lot of punk from this era blends together for me, but this stands out slightly.
This was interesting as a historical exercise at least; I am not sure if I have ever listened to an Elvis song all the way through until now. Long Black Limousine was a standout but the rest is not my jam.
This is a vibe; I liked the parts with the full orchestra in particular.

I mean on concept alone this is exceptional. Johnny Cash?? Playing at a prison?? And he plays a song criticizing the prison?? And then he plays it a second time right afterwards?? I'm also a sucker for live albums where you can hear the audience getting super hype. Unfortunately none of the songs hit that hard for me outside of A Boy Named Sue.
This is certainly pummeling... almost in a good way!
Nothing about this really stood out, but I feel like this is base of a sound that I would go on to like once it got refined later.

Out of all of David Bowie's classic albums, this random one made this list of top 1001 albums?? His voice is still vaguely interesting here, but the instrumentation was pretty boring and too slow-paced for me. "I'd Rather Be High" stood out as being ok, but yeah this was largely a slog.
I feel like this sound has been done better, but this is still a solid listen.

Back when pop music was fun! I have a huge soft spot for this era and JT in particular. His partnership with Timbaland is super underrated in music lore. Cry Me a River is an all-time favorite pop song of mine and a great karaoke song as a bonus.
