A fantastic album that’s always fun to listen to, which is partially why I picked it for my album. This was really my third choice as the first two were already selected. I felt the list lacked a lot of strong modern rap music that has shaped modern culture. This was my choice as for me it’s a culmination of the gangster rap and lyrical conscious rap by Gibbs mixed with funky and soulful best productions of Madlib. This album flows so smoothly and its biggest drawbacks to me is some of the skit portions at the end of songs. Other than that it has impeccable features from older and newer artists to really make this a great album of the past and future. O’Doyle rules 9.3/10

Now this is an old school album that probably should have been on the original list. I’ve heard of Patti labelle and heard lady marmalade many times before but really this whole album was impressive. Was shocked that this is actually a trio and not just Patti by herself. The range on the songs while also being funky and soulful was great. This is a great add and one I would revisit. 7.6/10

This is some interesting prog art rock instrumental combo album. This is definitely a complex album and there were parts that I thought were peculiar while others I enjoyed listening to. This isn’t something I would revisit but it was definitely interesting. 5.0/10

One of the best and most nostalgic albums of the 90s. It’s impossible to ignore how good sublime was at making songs that felt like summer. This album is a bit long on the back end but it has some of the best hits alternative has seen and they’ve held up over the years. 7.8/10

This was some decent rock punk music. Definitely not as hardcore as some of their other albums or other punk bands but that’s what made this album more enjoyable. Less thrash and more technique in the instrumentals always makes me enjoy the punk sound more. this was decent but not great. 6.2/10

If I grew up in the 70s I could see how I’d really enjoy this deeper cut band of diverse rock. Over time it seems they’ve become more unknown and would definitely be considered underrated. They don’t do anything that’s too crazy or different but this album has a few different styles of rock that show the bands talent. This was a pretty wild album. From the album cover I assumed it was going to be kind of trash. Then when it started it and I had my bootcut jeans on and spiked my hair and rocked out. This is the perfect music for your dive bar. It’s not great but it has its moments where it’s plenty of fun. This gives Nickelback a run for their money. 6.4/10

This was a pretty solid album. Not sure if I’d call it a punk album. There were only a couple of songs that felt somewhat punk and also I actually liked it compared to most punk albums. Maybe it’s modern punk then because some of the songs were more typical to a indie rock. The Irish accent in the songs actually made it stronger and gave it some character in the story. Overall I’d revisit it and good choice. 7.0/10

Not shocked to see a Bon Iver album on the user submitted list. He’s definitely one of the more iconic modern artists with his unique style. This album I wouldn’t say is his best but it’s definitely one I like and also very experimental. Overall this is a catchy and brilliantly artistic album that deserves many re-listens. 8.2/10

One of the best albums of so many people’s childhood/teens/early adulthood . Blink 182 was able to capture so many people with their garage punk rock sound. This album has at least 4 major hits and emus easily their best album. Everything about growing up in the late 90s early 00s can be heard through this album. A nostalgic album that still rocks hard today. 8.4/10

Pretty solid 80s album by one of the biggest bands at the time. The user list is basically just everyone’s favorite albums from the times they grew up listening to a lot of music. This 80s pop album was probably immense when it came out. I don’t hear much of it now but overall it’s pretty good nothing really bad about it but not sure how much I’d revisit it. 6.5/10

This was a unique and definitely interesting themed album. It felt like a neutral milk hotel album but without the varying instruments and catchy parts. Overall it was a bit bland and made me Feel like a peasant because I couldn’t hear any exciting instruments. I wouldn’t revisit this and it’s too artsy for me. 4.3/10

This was fine to me. Nothing really amazing, just seemed like a hipster album with a story intertwined. I’d say that the devemberists are one modern band in a style of music I like but none of their songs have really wowed me. Doubtful this would be revisited but it’s not bad. 6.1/10

This was a nice retro album. It didn’t feel too prog rock like and more stunted to an instrumental 70s classic rock. Overall it was pretty good, and I listened to it several times as it was pretty easy going. None of the songs were bad. I didn’t find myself wanting to listen to any one specifically but they flowed together quite well. 6.3/10

This was an album I could not find enjoyment in. It felt like if a teenager was told to make an electronic album for Disney channel. It was very upbeat and poppy but it just felt very juvenile to me. Not something I would revisit. 3.8/10

Listening to this and I felt like it was a bit ahead of its time in comparison to the 00s and 2010s alternative. This is classified as power pop which is an interesting take on it. I don’t find it very poppy but it has upbeat instrumentals and the lyrics are pretty good. I found this to have a range of styles and sound that resembled some modern bands. If they came out with this album now they’d probably be bigger than when grunge ruled music. 7.0/10

This was my first choice of albums to add to the user list but somebody else beat me to it. How one of the ingenious and creative rap albums of all time didn’t make it in the original list I will not know but this album is amazing. The production mixed with MF DOOMs lyrics make this album like a rap version of kind of blue. It’s so well done and innovative that nothing compares to it. RIP DOOM 9.3/10

This also had me. The first song with Curtis mayfield was actually pretty decent. I thought it was going to be a funky pop album. And then every other song proved me wrong. This was something that really confused me. Not sure what most of these songs were but to me they were bad. This is a never revisit album for me. 2.4/10

They’ve had better albums but this one was still alright. I never loved death cab but they made some popular indie alt music in the 2000s. Overall this was what happens when you have too much talent but nothing to write songs about. Some of these songs just felt like they were talking about whatever they saw. Good catchy indie pop but nothing amazing. 6.2/10

To make this was a less talented sufjan album. Augustine really has one style this whole album and while the lyrics were pretty good, after about 3 songs it felt one note. This isn’t something I’d revisit. There are better artists that do the soft singing style better. 4.5/10

This feels like a lot of the modern pop music that I’ve been forced to listen by my SO however this one is a bit less up beat and more melodramatic. Something about foreign artists that have good vocals that really enjoy having a melancholy style of music. I’d be more inclined to listen to Benee or some other pop artists than this album. It wasn’t terrible, but it’s just not my taste. 5.3/10

There have been a lot of international albums on this list while also a lot of weird albums on this list. Here we have an album that is both of those and just incredibly difficult to enjoy. No idea what’s going on and glad it’s over. 1.1/10

We lost a legend when we lost Jimmy Buffett. The man that made the island life so cool. This album is great. It’s not the poppy Jimmy Buffett, just the laid back guy with the island sound. The back half of this album is great and has some classics. I’ll listen to this album along with many other Buffett albums whenever I want to escape or am escaping to an easier life. 8.4/10

I really enjoy the style the lumineers have. It’s perfect for all the modern day hipsters. Aside from that they make good folk pop music and it’s enjoyable to drive and listen to their albums. This one is a good example of that easy and upbeat lyrics. Catchy tunes and choruses. All around fun stuff. 7.2/10

What’s better than 1000 gecs, 10,000 gecs? Not too sure if any amount of gecs is considered great but some people love these guys. Maybe I’m just getting older and don’t know what good music is anymore. Or maybe it’s the kids who are wrong. Either way This is not for me. 4.1/10

Procol harum is more interesting in name than they are in their sound. I’ve always felt they were the more boring side of prog rock. This album isn’t much different. It’s a softer rock style that seems flat and not too diverse in range. The album blended together and it went through a few times before I realized it’s being repeated. All in all not bad but just way better options in the late 60s. 6.0/10

This album in 06 was pretty huge. John Mayer was able to combine beautiful guitar work with pretty simple pop music. None of it is that deep, breakup songs. Love songs anti ware songs but it’s done in a simple and tasteful way that can enjoyed today. Overall this is a solid album and a classic from the 00s. 7.5/10

I usually really enjoy 60s music and psychedelic rock but this was what happens when guys try to take the sound of other popular bands and do it themselves. Just a total miss on this one. Not really sure there was one standout song. You hate to see it. 5.0/10

This was like if you had Pink Floyd and genesis combine for an album. It was perfectly in the mix of prog rock and 80s pop rock. It wasn’t bad or anything but I think being in the middle with their sound made it less appealing than going one way or another. Overall it was okay. Nothing great but the sound was familiar. 6.7/10

This was a pretty average alt rock album. Some of the songs sounded vaguely familiar but it was hard to say where I heard them before. Sampras second album is a masterfully produced and fantastic composition of an album. I prefer Sampras first album but this one is also still excellent. He has a unique sound of modern production with soulful and strong lyricism. I will listen to both of his albums but the first one just a bit more than this one. 8.3/10

This was a rough album to get through. Not sure if I enjoyed any of the songs on this one. It was something that felt like garage punk and alternative metal mixed but without any of the positives. The lyricism was definitely weird and the instrumentals weren’t catchy or impressive at all. 2.6/10

in a world with enough silly pop music this album somehow has avoided me my whole life up until now. This isn’t bad it’s just generic mid 00s pop music and I’ve heard that stuff growing up. This one was a brit pop album so that’s probably why I never heard it but I’m not going to revisit this. It’s not terrible just not for me. 4.0/10

What if gangster rap was done by a poet. Well then you get this album. It’s full of street references and clearly appeals to a certain demographic. Mustafa a message is good and understandable but the way it’s presented falls a bit short with the soft tone and chill instrumentals. 4.5/10

Korn is one of those bands that didn’t pull any punches with the music they made. Intense, vulgar, and graphic lyrics are present in this album and that can definitely deter some people. However, music like this is life to some people. These harsh realities are what people don’t want to hear when they listen to music. Korn didn’t care their hardcore nu metal sound is the perfect way to implement their dark lyrics. It’s a well done album and there are some pretty solid songs on this album. Whenever I’m in the mood korn can be a good listen. 6.8/10

This was an alright album. I’d say better than the last eels album but a lot of the songs on this didn’t stick out in any memorable way. It was a well produced album with good instruments it just fell a little short of me capturing the essence of what other people find great it in. Overall it’s fine but I wouldn’t revisit it. 5.8/10

I don’t even have a joke for Norway that’s how uncommon it is. Took me 2 songs before I realized it’s in another language and my brain wasn’t collapsing. Not quite sure how I’m supposed to interpret an album that is supposed to be known for its song stories when I can’t understand the lyrics. Listened and moving on. 2.0/10

An absolute manger of an album. Weezer made Pinkerton for the music nerds but made the Blue album for everyone else. The songs are quick catchy and fun. The album is relatively short and quick but it’s pretty exceptional. A great choice for the list and should’ve been on the original. Either way this is Weezers best album and really a top album from the 90s. It still is great. 8.6/10

This was a pretty odd album. Being in a genre called noise rock sums it up pretty well. Not sure why a disjointed muddled sound would be considered a good idea yet the mates of the Jesus lizard thought it would be. I couldn’t get into this album. It was messy (probably intentionally). 4.7/10

This was a pretty decent album. It’s like if Bruce Springsteen made modern alternative music with an Americana style. The album cover definitely threw me off a bit but I thought the instrumentals and lyrics were actually quite good. Based on how it’s rated I’m shocked it isn’t more talked about or popular. As much as I like Bruce’s music a 2 hour live album of songs that have pretty much already been covered is a bit redundant for this list. I’m starting to think the user albums are half albums people like and half people just making others suffer. A decent album by the hilariously named Garbage. I’ve heard of a few of these songs before mainly in movies but this whole album was not that bad. Pretty shocked it was nominated for album of the year so not sure if it was a down year or the Grammys used to have taste outside of the top 40s. To me there’s better 90s alternative out there. This was a bit too upbeat yet trying to be edgy for me. I’d rather have more hardcore instrumentals with these lyrics. 5.9/10

This was a fantastic album and one I’ve listened to dozens of times before. Gambino was one of my favorite artists in the 10s and this album is exactly that is. This album wasn’t as pop rap as his previous albums and not as experimental and R&B as his most recent two. It’s got the right blend of soulful production with catchy, gimmicky rap lines. The only draw back of this album was it was a bit long and some songs didn’t fit into play as much but overall this is exceptional and I’ll continue to listen to it. 8.6/10

This is the type of music I wish I was able to find more often. Just some funky fun reggae music that is so smooth and fun to listen to. Aside from Bob Marley I’ve found that reggae is either hit or miss but when it hits it’s oh so good. This album was a pleasant experience and I enjoyed it and listened to some more of the upsetters after. 7.2/10

This was some lame 80s pop music. The repetitive lyrics and Richard Simmons feeling production had me wanting to skip some of these songs. Not the worst thing I’ve listened to but definitely not my speed. It was pretty meh throughout and won’t be revisiting this. 3.9/10

I would imagine I would prefer a funk metal album with heavy bass lines more than a traditional metal album but this did not flow well for me. Part of it was the lyricism just didn’t fit for me and t was hard to enjoy. The other part was it starts off so abruptly odd that it was hard for me to recover and enjoy it as it progressed. Not a likely return but not terrible. 4.6/10

This wasn’t much of a jazz album so whatever oncle is that had a big impact on the sound. The singer was very chill and soft which made it easy to listen to but the songs blended together and before I knew it I was halfway through my second listen. The instrumentals weren’t anything spectacular just chill to match. Overall it wasn’t bad but for me I doubt I’d revisit it as it isn’t the kind of chill I like to chill to. 5.5/10

What’s the difference between the DMV and the DMB? Not too much as you spend way too much time on it and you come out of it feeling better than other people. To me the DMB was a late 90s cult of listening. It was the non-grunge intellectual music that people felt different listening too. In the late 90s that may have been pretty cool, but to me it just seems like a white dude taking styles from all over and saying check this out. Were different. But was it good? Not exactly. 5.2/10

This was way more fun than I expected but an appropriate amount of fun from a band named oingo boingo. My first couple listens I thought this was some silly 80s pop album but as the day progressed and my alcohol intake increased I found myself enjoying this album and it being a treat of melodic silliness. Overall not too bad. Just the right amount of weird. 6.2/10

This just wasn’t for me. The hyper pop and synth sound of the 80s was heavy in this and it didn’t resonate with me. I found the upbeat music and fast paced lyricism to be dated. Even though this was 79 it listens like 80s and the 80s have always been hit or miss with me. This one was a miss. 4.5/10

Was a bit shocked this band was Australian because listening to them I heard influences from Springsteen and the Killers. Their sound is pretty similar to Bleachers with the spoken cadence singing and varied instrumentals that progress in tempo through the songs. Overall I enjoyed this quite a bit and think that Australian indie pop/rock is a great genre and many unknown bands are in it. I listened to this a few times and even some of their other music but this was their best work it seemed. Very good and enjoyable. 7.5/10

My first thought when I listened to this album was could you imagine if this was your friends favorite album and every time you visited or got in their car they were itching to play this album. Thankfully this list only requires one day of listening to whatever that album was. A wild collection of songs that were like if Tom waits stopped smoking and was part of a cult. 2.8/10

Id imagine the person that picked this album is a pretty big fan of Pink Floyd. I like this album but it does have the noticeable differences of it being a solo project. In an alternate world this was done by Pink Floyd and the wall was the solo project of Roger waters. I’m glad this was the solo project. It’s a more personal concept album and works as a solo album yet Waters could use some stronger help from Gilmour. Overall good but not as good Floyd. 7.0/10

Well that sure was a depressing album but that was kind of the point right. Not everything can be sunshine’s and this album did a good job of showing the darker side of people and the decisions they make. A bit of a drag at times but overall not too bad the grunge indie sound is solid and obviously very Seattle. A good deeper concept album for the darker days. 6.6/10

If you want old time jazz then this is what you want. 1920s swing jazz with Louis is clearly a historical fest and very important but to me the old time jazz is a bit bland and missing some of the spontaneity of later jazz that I prefer much more. This isn’t bad and it sure it has had major cultural impacts but it’s nothing id willingly revisit if I wanted to hear jazz. 6.4/10

This is more of a movie soundtrack than an album but then again the artist literally makes movie scores so that makes sense. Guess everyone has their own flavor but this one is not one I seek out. Not saying it’s bad, it’s just not for me. 4.5/10

My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy are the two bands that really tell you if someone grew up a millennial in the early 00s. This whole album is more of a nostalgic vibe than it is a good standalone album. It’s a bit long, the emo-pop sound goes more emo on some and more pop on the ones that are fun to listen to. This album has some solid creative marks and some overall really good songs. Not sure if this whole album will hold up over the years but some songs will. 6.8/10

There’s already been a bit of overkill on punk albums. And live albums are always divisive so the combination of a punk love album isn’t anything worthwhile. Maybe the person who submitted this was there. Not sure what else would make someone want to choose this since 90% of punk albums have already been on this list. Good energy though but not something I’ll revisit. 4.3/10

Sufjan is an excellent song writer and musician. The range among his albums is pretty wide and varying to the point where it’s easy for people to have different favorites. Carrie and Lowell is a great album and the category is a bit more sad and darker than what most music is about. Sufjan uses his soft style of singing to really make the album shine. Overall it’s a great album and Sufjan music is impressive. 7.9/10

This was an unexpectedly great album from an artist that I’ve never heard of before. The poetic Americana style had some excellent storytelling within the songs. Overall this was something I’d revisit as the Americana genre has been something I’ve found so raw and heartfelt. This album has all of that with the simplicity of the singer songwriter quality. 7.7/10

This is what I’d imagine stereotypical dub is like except it’s not a stereotype it’s the real thing. Just some funk dub beats with some dub lyrics for 35 minutes. To me it’s a very unique style of music that is probably best listened to while under the influence of a specific plant. Overall though it’s fun and easy going. 6.1/10

Well that was a bloody mess (pun intended). Not quite sure what they’re going for here or if there’s just a big sect of Dracula metal enthusiasts but I may not be the target audience. The summer breeze cover was also an interesting interpretation. Overall this album was like a chopped and screwed version done by white people about their weird hobbies. 2.7/10

This wasn’t nearly as good as the other Marillion album that was on the original list. The song has a good voice, but for an album that’s over 90 minutes it had plenty of time that was dull and fell flat. They’re like if Creed had a complex similar to The Smiths. It’s just an odd combination style wise that makes this album not that great. 4.5/10

This was alright but the amount of punk I’ve had to go through really makes this less enjoyable to listen to. Kind of ironic how many punk albums are on this list and even user submitted, you’d think it’s the most popular genre and mainstream. Overall this one was pretty good with The female lead and the punk instrumentals. 5.9/10

One of my favorite modern artists. These guys are the pinnacle of Dad Rock as to me they’re like if Floyd and Dylan had a child with all the modern music making abilities at their potential Lost In the Dream is my favorite of their work but this one is so chill and soothing. Can be put on whenever and it just rocks. Will always enjoy listening to them. 8.9/10

Imagine have the musical talent to make a prog rock album about a collection of poems from a real dark mind and make it fun. That’s apparently what this is. If only they did a collection of albums from famous writers what could have been. This was interesting, really made some poes literature less spooky when you have a nice bass line. 6.3/10

This album definitely brings back some memories. One of the first CDs I’ve ever owned, I used to listen to this album a lot. For a kid this is a great blend of rock music with easy to understand lyrics. That was as a kid, now I found the album to be nostalgic, but nothing more than some very generic genre blending of Christian and pop rock. 2003 was a simpler time for music as the popularity of this shows but it’s not 2003 anymore and this is already a bit dated. 6.6/10

Feel like a lot of the user albums are more of the nostalgic music people listened to a lot growing up. I never heard of this album before but I’d imagine if I grew up in the 80s this would be a popular one. To me this was some boy band solo artist 80s new wave stuff that was pretty dull and didn’t have any of the flair of the better new wave music. 4.3/10

Never heard of this band before but I thought they were alright. Extra points being from Detroit, but their biggest drawback was definitely the singer. pretty shocked this wasn’t on the original list. This is some great rock anthem music here. Overall it’s classic rock to a T, just catchy choruses and solid guitar action. Pretty hard to beat sometimes. 7.6/10

This was a bit of a snoozer. 15 tracks of some semblance of life in Texas. Didn’t really hit the mark for me as the singer has a sort of strained style of singing that feels like a Bob Dylan knock off. Plus the lyrics didn’t seem all that special. This was a miss and wouldn’t revisit it. 5.1/10

Another man from Michigan that made some of the best classic rock ever made. Bob Seger knew how to make music for driving, rocking, partying, relaxing. You name it. In just 40 minutes he was able to go up and down with strong emotions and rhythms. This is a fantastic album and maybe a couple songs that aren’t great but everything is good. 8.3/10

This was a nice chill brass jazz album. Easy to listen to and enjoy. Overall it was well done and jazz that I like to hear. 6.4/10

This was a pretty unique album. Felt like a rhythmic slam poetry session but with less slam and more political agenda. Overall it was okay but I couldn’t really get behind the way the singer enunciated so hard in some of his songs it was like he wanted us to know he’s smart. That’s great but good music is better than smart music sometimes. 5.3/10

This was a pretty cool and unique of soul, R&B with a bit of rock and folk. It had a lot of different tempos. The j instrumentals were solid and June has a very nice voice. All in all it was pretty nice to hear something new and this good while still being modern. 7.0/10

This is the kind of 80s music that doesn’t excite me much. The cool guy singer songwriter that sings about tales of unique life. To me it’s just an album of blow hard music with more unique instrumentals and rhythms. Nothing too exciting on this one. 5.4/10

I wasn’t able to find this album so I tried several other songs by this artist and I came to the same realization. I plant have mattered if I listened to this album because I wouldn’t have understood it. The beats and rhythms clearly match the African artist and I’m sure they’re good. Don’t have much knowledge to compare them. Overall this wasn’t for me. 2.4/10

This is just lofo electronic music. Hardly even music if you ask me but some people apparently love it. To each their own I suppose but this was background music for background music. This could be in for 8 hours and I probably wouldn’t notice. 1.9/10

I’m shocked I never heard of this band before. They got the alt rock 90s sound so well and they felt like a less whiny version of REM. Clean instrumentals and crisp lyricism makes this album a very simple one to enjoy. Overall this was a solid and id definitely revisit it. 6.9/10

Yo no soy comprendo. Me no quero es. I will say though I’ve never heard a Mexican rock album so that was new to me. It was decent to hear but huge drawback of just not understanding it. But at least I tried. 2.5/10

There was something about women’s 90s music where they really unleashed their raw emotions and problems into songs. Overall this album was very similar to Morrissette but just like Alanis, I didn’t care for this album either. This one was actually less poppy and more melancholy. All in all not for me. 4.3/10

An oddball album for sure. You have the funky music white boy and a Beatles cover. What is this album other than a bunch of dudes just playing what they think is good music. It’s not bad just so obviously 90s. This felt like if you took ska and tried to make it work for a wider audience. Meh. 5.3/10

The user albums started off so good and lately it’s been a weird combination of international and oddball music. Here we have a combination of both which really just begs the question of who chooses these albums. This just wasn’t for me. It’s not a rap album. It’s not a rock funk album. Not quite sure what this album was trying to be but to me it wasn’t good. 4.0/10

Never heard this album before but it felt like a light grunge alt rock album. The instrumentals were decent and had some hardcore moments but all in all wasn’t the full grunge sound. The drawback was none of the songs really stood out to me and got me rocking along. It was always toeing the line of real good that never really got there. 6.5/10

This is simply music for the theatrical people. This feels like something you would hear on an off off broadway show where you get a 10 minute introduction about the journey and how everything’s a metaphor for the new wave apartheid. Ok maybe that was a bit much but that’s exactly how this album is. It goes a bit further than the musical realm and brings performance too. If you’re into that then this is for you. 4.6/10

A decent modern folk album that is a bit more somber. Overall it’s a well made album that has strong lyricism, and nice smooth guitar work. Rice has a very calming and emotional singing voice that really highlights the highs and lows of the lyricism of the songs. This was pretty nice. 6.7/10

Is it possible to listen to EWF and not have a good time? I don’t think so. This is a solid album with a classic in boogie wonderland. This album has more funk and soul in one song than some do in whole albums now. EWF can never be recreated. They were locked in in their era and provided some of the best soul music ever. This is a solid album. 7.7/10

This was a decent album with a modern alt pop sound with some retro sounds. I thought it sounded a bit like the killers but maybe that was just Brandon flowers. It does have a good indie pop sound with that modern weirdness that makes newer music interesting. Pretty decent. 6.8/10

This is a pretty fun and groovy compilation album from some solid producers. This is like some older less electronic version of Jungle. The assortment of instruments and production is great mainly due to different people and their influences. This could easily be played for hours in the background and it would be enjoyed the whole time. 7.0/10

This is quite a quirky band. I’ve heard instanbul more times than I’ve wanted in life and this album is like a less cool, less catchy version of that song that makes me feel like this band is trying to stay relevant again. This album wasn’t really anything special and was not my style of alt rock music. Not planning on revisiting this one anytime soon. 4.7/10

a But before my time and probably why I don’t have as much for this album as others might. B-52s have some good songs and are fun but this album doesn’t have any of the major catchy hits to grab me in. Overall it’s very 80s new wave pop but just dated for me. 5.5/10

These guys are like chameleons with music. They play every genre and churn out albums like bands did back in the 70s. Overall this one was pretty cool. I like the transitions in songs and thought the general alt rock style was solid. Felt like it was 80s mixed with modern style. Overall a cool album. 7.2/10

The last 00s era blink 182 album where they went out on top with one of their best songs on thid album in I miss you. Feeling this was one of my favorites as it was in some nhl game I played as a kid. This album isn’t nearly as good as enema of the state as it has an odd interlude and different styling choices in songs on the back half of the album. This is solid but not nearly as good as a couple of their earlier albums. 7.6/10

Alexisonfire is one of those 00s emo scream bands that was right in the middle of melodic emo and screaming thrash. Dallas Green helps bring the tone down on Alexisonfire’s albums that make me enjoy them, yet I find his city and colour to be lame. Yet impressive the musical range and audience he reaches. The instrumentals are solid and are expected from a heavy rock band of the 00s. Crisis is probably my preferred album as it has their more palatable songs but this album was also very good. I enjoyed most of the songs. 6.9/10 (nice)

The UK grime rap style is a unique one compared to the various us styles but it has good lyricism. The biggest downfall I’ve always felt was the beats seem one dimensional and it makes UK rappers just sound like he’s free styling. Overall it’s a good album and for it being his first is pretty impressive too. 6.2/10

This is an interesting album. It has the sound of style of British music prior to the 2000s but feels like more it could get lost in the mix with all of the other alternative albums. I thought this was alright. It took styles from over the years but didn’t really do anything crazy with them. Just melded them for an updated alternative style. 6.3/10

i probably would’ve enjoyed this one quite a bit if I understood what was being said. The beats were really exciting and fun to chill to but overall it’s hard for me to enjoy the album without knowing what’s going on. 3.5/10

A little bit before its time with the metal core style but also after the numetal died down this was a tough transition that was for a niche crowd in the 00s. Feel like they’d have a better following now but overall the metal core sound is hit and miss for me and these guys are a miss. Just too messy and not quite what I like in metal music. 5.0/10

Was this cool in 2005? Maybe. Is this cool now? Not at all. The modern lyricism with some of the folky style music was a terrible combination and it just felt like a teenager who learned the word pussy and cock saying it as much as possible. Not great 2.6/10
