Bayou Country
Creedence Clearwater RevivalGood old rock n roll
Good old rock n roll
Cool extended long songs, particularly enjoyed the first track (School)
Lovely harmonies and nostalgic/wistful feeling
Nice and chilled
Rich lovely voice but a bit slow
Quaint but nostalgic, love the song Village Green, has a melancholy feel
Cool concept album but maybe not the best for commuting
Really enjoyed this, very lyrical and Kate bush like
Very atmospheric guitars
Excellent
Really interesting and eclectic sound which vibed with me!
It was fine
I have this on CD - solid jazz album
Sounds like oasis but more interesting
One of the best albums of all time
Incredible iconic album, one of the best ever
Sad boi music but I enjoyed it
An assault on the senses, though the green day Holiday riff was cool
Not to my taste!
Sounds of silence is a better album in my opinion, but this is probably a bit more interesting in terms of the instrumental backing
Fine but too long
Some iconic tunes in here but quite samey
Very interesting rhythmically and melodically, hugely enjoyed this album and will definitely revisit!
Lovely voice but difficult to rate this one as most of the songs are covers, not originals
I'm scared of Madonna
Lovely live jazz album, made me feel like I was in a jazz club
Really not my cup of tea. Very offensive to my ears and could not finish.
Every song sounded the same
Started off very strong and I could see why Brian Eno is so influential, some of the songs sounded quite Animal Collective-y, then it got quite weird and not that cohesive. Still a solid album.
So much energy and such a great opening to an album! Rest of the album a bit difficult to live up to the opening but still v cool.
Really like Duncan and Me and Julio down by the schoolyard - very good storyteller but not as good as Graceland
This was very lo fi 90s alt rock/indie and it was fine
Solid album and quite funky, I enjoyed!
Standard Elvis album
Too long and too twee Tried to listen to this back in the day on pitchfork's recommendation and could not get through either
What a musically interesting album! So many different genres! Loved this.
Lovely folk album, listened to a lot of Nick Drake at school but never the album the whole way through. Very beautiful. Died so young :(
First album I went out and bought (in a fopp shop in Borders, how early 00s). Really nostalgic for me, and some bangers, obvs Parklife and Girls and Boys are iconic but also really love End of a Century. Some novelty songs though, it's true.
Very good pop album, lots of bangers I didn't know she had
Very good musically interesting rock álbum, melodically great, love Peace Frog and Queen of the Highway
Incredible flow and lyrics & topped up by great production, classic hip hop album
Solid album w lots of bangers
Between 2 and 3 for me, a couple of good songs but a bit too 90s grunge sounding
Lovely chill album
Some absolutely iconic songs here, probs because I loved Life on Mars the BBC series, but not all the songs vibed with me.
Some good songs in here but lots of filler
Such a good psych pop/rock album, v reminiscent of the flaming lips! I listened to this a lot back in the day when I read about it in an NME magazine (it was my friend's dad's and I picked it up cos it was about Kasabian) the mag had a feature about the 10 year re release of this cult album which intrigued me. This sound was v up my street. I especially liked goddess on a hiway, holes and opus 40, top tracks
Quite a fun album with some filler songs
Lots of different sounds which was a bit of a surprise, but sometimes they went too weird - Mother. Enjoyed wrapped around your finger. Has a bit of a 60s sound that Animal Collective want to imitate
She had such a great voice :'(
Incredible voice, I loved four women
Really enjoyed listening to this whilst walking around London, Stay was my fave
5 stars at the beginning and loses its energy towards the end, still very enjoyable
Great pop/funk album, so fun!
Nice easy listening
Solid album and very easy listening, would be good for a dinner party
Cool jazz album but quite challenging at times
Nice chilled album
Solid rock album, title song was v good
Excellent start but lots of the songs were quite samey towards the end
One or two songs were interesting ish and melodic but the rest were an assault on the ears
Nothing very stand out but really easy to listen to
Pleasant album to listen to but not really my style
It has that classic late 60s and early 70s country rock sound which is kinda nice, easy to listen to
Soooo funky and I loved the title song, very groovy
Really interesting rock álbum, free bird is such a tune
Janis Joplin's voice was so soulful, I really enjoyed this
Cool dub/reggae sound with interesting vocals
Started off so strong but then waned towards the end
Very cool happy tunes, cool guitar, great for playing while walking in the mountains or in a car (enjoyed the album in both settings)
Always a 5 star album
This will always be a 5* album for me. Every song is incredible.
Solid album, intro is such a good song, was the first song I heard from them back in the day (worked into a high school drama performance haha)
Not listened to much sitar/Indian music before, but this was a great introduction! Enjoyed the demos at the start, felt like a young persons guide to the sitar a la Britten. Last song was great
Good live album, I was surprised how much they sounded like REM! The Man Who Sold the World is a great cover
Not my usual genre but I appreciate this album, solid classic country rock and reminds me of big lebowski. Bad moon rising is a jam
Good fun album but lack of stand out songs
Really great reggae album, so bouncy and fun
Some good tracks and very influential but felt like a sketch lots of times
Really cool sound, put it on whilst unpacking our new place, enjoyed it a lot!
Nice easy listening album and quite chilled, but no stand out tracks
Great songs including I left my wallet in el segundo, can I kick it, bonita Applebum, very fun and good hip hop
Lovely country album with wonderful harmonies, all three vocalists have such distinctive voices!
Enjoyable, very nostalgic sounding 90s vocals
Such great energy in this, killing in the name and bombtrack always slaps
First song was cool then went down from there, very strange vocals and slightly atonal
Some fun songs with a 60s feel but also felt very novelty towards the end, 2.5 for me
Cool atmospheric album! Some standout tracks like Regiment
Nice easy listening jazz album, miles Davis always slaps
Very challenging. The songs which were more conventional eg Several Sins were much nicer to listen to but then sandwiched between other songs which were an assault on the ears
Buffalo stance was very cool, but the rest of the album was quite same-y
Quite weird album but interesting sound - interesting blend of country and blues and Hispanic influences.
Really cool desert blues. I knew the first song from a while back but not the whole album so was nice to listen to this! Nice groove, slightly same-y towards the end but would defo listen again
Great voice with iconic tracks
Really interesting songs, relax and War I have obviously heard but I enjoyed how the band really tried to make it a concept album. Not all of the songs hit but overall really cool album
Lovely relaxing album, perfect when I was doing my long run
Some bangers and very fun
Lots of energy but not my type of music
Interesting musically but some songs a bit atonal
Solid 5*
Best arctic monkeys album
Psycho killer is a 5* song but others are meh
Quite a fun album and great voice but nothing stand out
2 great songs but a lot of filler
OK country album
Such an eclectic mix of genres, blackbird, while my guitar softly weeps are so good, also can’t believe Helter Skelter is by them too! Not all the songs were to my taste but overall good album
Obviously iconic main song but I was honky tonked out by the end
Kinda kooky alt rock/punk, Steven Malkmus has a distinctive voice. I really tried to get into Pavement multiple times and they are just alright for me.
Obviously a huge event (I’ve seen walk the line) and great voice, but music is more interesting for historical value than things I’d listen to again
Sultans of Swing is so good! Then lots of the album is quite same-y, overall great sound
Enjoyed this a lot actually, when I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this genre! especially My My Hey Hey
Really grew up with this one and there are some bangers, Muse were really trying to sound like Queen here
Lovely harmonies, loved this band since they collabed with Paul Simon!
