Let's Get Killed

Really enjoyed the britfolk and the ensembles. Great album. Will listen again and put songs on playlists
could tell that it wasn't all recorded together. three different people could have put out three albums. no real flow between them. still some good songs i'd never heard before. lots about love and its beginnings.
Did not realize what an influential album this was. maybe it was just the day, but i didn't connect with it. Im not used to three different vocalists. One interesting note was that the Weight, the most popular osng, is an idyllic look at americana towns but the rest of the album looks at everything from a more pessimistic lens (golden claf, hexagram), etc. I was also surprised to hear theyre from canada/ny. lots to learn!
pretty fun listen. made me think of mike and hs hits. easy to work to, high bpm kept me going early in the AM. heard precursor to heavier bands like NIN (though at this point idk if this album came first).
Surprisingly well mixed and able to understand the lyrics more than most modern rap. Simple yet effective beats. Really heavily violence/drugs/misogyny throughout, further above the social commentary that is also there. Kinda lost me towards the end being a little repetitive.
Very refreshing to hear this after NWA. Smart lyrics, questioning male authority, touching on deeper themes, different beats each song. Surprisingly enjoyed it.
Hit machine. I knew most of the songs but enjoyed getting to hear a few more. Like garden and why go, especially now that I’m a parent. Wasn’t magical but solid album front to back.
enjoyable listen. his voice is not as raspy or baritone as i thought it was supposed to be. more of an ensemble than just the piano i expected as well. not anything in here that truly captured me but was nice background music as i worked.
good listen. had to read up to realize it was Rod Stewart on vocals, because that I recognized immediately. The guitar is distinctive and immediately placeable, so I'm glad i know now it's jeff beck. Enjoyable listen with some cool songs on here that aren't the mainstream rock of the era. cool guitar licks unlike others ive heard on records.
Lots of my favorite KOL songs. Great album front to back. His voice is less polished that later on and I like it that way.
Great album. Iconic voice. Will listen again.
Funky. Some funny songs and some big hits. Enjoyable journey.
Interested to see the movie. Interesting theme of working for yourself, not the man, and not doing drugs.
Pretty political and interesting stories told in the lyrics. Heavier southern rock. Interested to read about them as I know they’re very prolific
More meh than I thought it would be. Outside of the two songs I knew well I didn’t really connect with many of them.
Very fun listen. Hard not to smile and bop along. Boys loved it too.
Funky stoner music, a little more on the chill side than the doors. Liked a few of the songs plenty.
Funky, upbeat, lots of sexual lyrics, didn’t know this album had 20 songs. Some classics for sure.
Pretty meh. A lot sounded the same. I can see why included but prob won’t listen again
Really enjoyed the britfolk and the ensembles. Great album. Will listen again and put songs on playlists
reminded me of Ours. really like it, especially as it got further into the album.
Still just can’t get into the who
Definitely didn’t expect what I got from the album cover, but really enjoyed the down to earth similes and pop references alongside unmasked insecurity and vulnerability.
Fine
One of those things sounded just like sweet home Alabama. Pleasant album to have on in the background
great rangy basslines, deep echo mixing. will listen again and try to focus on the lyrics.
Exactly what I expected. Iconic voice instantly recognizable. Simple and relaxing songs.
Didn’t really think much of the album. Then I read about it and was surprised. I liked the female vocalist but otherwise wasn’t really impressed.
Wannabe Bowie? Fine listen but nothing special. Thought I heard some early punk in some of the lyrics though.
Enjoyed the beats and the message. Would like to listen again a little closer to the lyrics.
Really enjoyed the rock and roll instrumentals, even made it onto a playlist
Liked it better than the other album which I think is more popular. Enjoyed trying to place a lot of the influences
Meh. Very similar to the prodigy and some others
If they were early in synth, I get why they’d be on the list, but I’m not sure what was special about it from one listen.
Fun listen to the lyrics that are literal and metaphorical in a spoken type voice. Recognized the voice but didn’t connect til after.
Seems like this was the live album that started live albums. Sounded great.
Enjoyed it
Better than I expected for the whole album. Fun.
Not for me
Enjoyed the folksy, almost mundane lyrics in the beginning with some fun lyrics later on
Forgot how much I used to listen and like this album. Only critique is it could use some more variety.
Fun listen. Didn’t realize how many I’d heard before.
Need to see when this came out. Heard a lot of Jimi in it.
Enjoyable listen
Sounds go Green Day and jack white in here, liked it
More lo fi and chill than I thought. Liked it and the radio that came on after
Really wanted to give it a 2 but heard so much of the chill wave/loop based music of today it seemed maybe they’re and influencer rather than an influenced
Not at all what I expected. More talking heads than the Brian eno I am familiar with. Either way, didn’t do it for me
3.4
Really enjoyed. Will play when I need a pick me up. Boys will love it.
