Popular Reviews

Graceland by Paul Simon

Has some nice songs but the lyrical style gets wearing and the African appropriation is cringe

Disraeli Gears by Cream

Just makes me want to watch freaks and geeks again. Losing a full star for this deranged blues song! Another star gone for Mother's Lament. Are we ok? WTF?

Love the Beatles but this is not top tier

Rapture by Anita Baker
Dec 31 2025

this sounds like being in my mum's kitchen in 1988. like soul music played by a plastic bag.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Jan 06 2026

Just makes me want to watch freaks and geeks again. Losing a full star for this deranged blues song! Another star gone for Mother's Lament. Are we ok? WTF?

Aja by Steely Dan
Jan 07 2026

It slid off my brain like an eel coated in oil

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jan 12 2026
Opus Dei by Laibach
Jan 14 2026

Incredibly strange. Loved it!

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Jan 15 2026

Some good tunes at the start made me wonder if I liked Dylan after all but several absolute dirges later and a loss of the will to love during the final track soon ended that

Cross by Justice
Jan 16 2026
Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jan 20 2026

There is a smugness to Sinatra that I can't get over. It's incredibly easy listening but it's also cheesy and slimy in a way that I don't like at all.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Jan 21 2026

I feel like this would be really fun to listen to live and dance to

Jan 22 2026

Oh no The tunes are great and then Morrissey's voice is the worst thing I've ever heard

xx by The xx
Jan 23 2026

Gosh this takes me back to my 20s. Generally very bland apart from infinity which I still like.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Jan 26 2026

My problem with Bob Dylan songs (other than his voice) is they just go on and on and on and on without changing. If they were 3 mins long I'd not have time to get bored.

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Jan 28 2026

I feel like Sonic Youth should be right up my alley but something about them is very unpleasant to listen to

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Jan 30 2026

Weird but I quite enjoyed it. Probably wouldn't listen again though.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Feb 02 2026
Dookie by Green Day
Feb 03 2026

Gosh this takes me right back to being 16. Love it.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Feb 06 2026

Extremely easy listening.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Feb 09 2026

Profoundly bland. 2008 is too recent so sounds dated.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Feb 10 2026

This project has taught me that I genuinely hate the Rolling Stones. You Gotta Move is actually offensive.

New Wave by The Auteurs
Feb 12 2026

Enjoyed this more than I expected

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Feb 17 2026

Clearly a work of technical genius

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Feb 20 2026

Her voice is good but every song sounds the same. Mid 2000s rnb inflected pop was boring then and is boring now

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Feb 25 2026

Always wondered where the music for teen dramas came from and now I know

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
Feb 27 2026

I am obsessed with this. Immediately bought it.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 10 2026

Perfectly fine but all the songs sound the same. The man starts at 11 and has nowhere to go.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Mar 11 2026
New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
Mar 13 2026

This project is making me appreciate that this era of British working class eccentrics being allowed to make pop music existed. Half these songs are straight music hall ditties and most of them sound exactly the same. I don't like them very much but I do appreciate their existence.

So by Peter Gabriel
Mar 16 2026
The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Mar 18 2026

Did not expect to enjoy this but I loved it

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Mar 20 2026
Faith by George Michael
Mar 27 2026
Either Or by Elliott Smith
Mar 30 2026

In 2000, the first boy I ever loved made me a mix cd with 2.45am was the first track. I cannot be even slightly impartial about this album or about Elliot Smith. I love it and I miss him.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Apr 02 2026

Ah the 70s

Sea Change by Beck
Apr 08 2026

Some nice orchestration but overall too ballady for me

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Apr 09 2026

I liked their songs very much but why did 60s producers insist that bands fill their albums with mediocre covers

Murmur by R.E.M.
Apr 21 2026
Roots by Sepultura
Apr 24 2026
Brothers by The Black Keys
Apr 27 2026
Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
May 01 2026

That this was inspired by Dylan made me suddenly appreciate Dylan way more than I ever have

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
May 11 2026

I have been underrating Dusty my whole life

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 13 2026

A lot of songs on this album I'm very fond of (scar tissue, other side, californication), and a lot that I violently hate (around the world, I like dirt). Weird listening experience.

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
May 14 2026

Her voice is pretty but I just hate this genre

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
May 18 2026
This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 26 2026

Inoffensive but a lot of it sounds like pink being played in the house next door

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jun 01 2026

Pure nostalgia

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Jun 04 2026

Felt like listening to a panic attack

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Jun 11 2026
Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 16 2026

Astonishing that this album contains a song as perfect as Beat It and a song as appalling as the Girl is Mine.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Jun 26 2026

Listened to this on a very pleasant train journey which absolutely made me like it more

Eagles by Eagles
Jul 02 2026
Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jul 07 2026

Didn't expect to enjoy this but had an absolutely great time

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Jul 13 2026

Takes me right back to being 13. Can't really stand the a lot of these songs anymore but Live Forever triggers something in me that I will never be able to exorcise.

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Jul 16 2026
Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Jul 17 2026

Loved this!

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jul 20 2026
Dirt by Alice In Chains
Jul 21 2026
Nixon by Lambchop
Jul 23 2026
Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Aug 03 2026

I hate them I hate them I hate them

Aug 04 2026

Some wild changes of tone here but the blues by/for white people thing that men were doing in the 1960s is so profoundly embarrassing
