4 stars - classic rock album that really sets the tone for how rock should sound
3 stars - not bad musically at all. very nice guitar
so tender, so comforting, so beautiful. such rich music that leaves you feeling warm. record flows really well and it just feels so continuous that it makes it a proper listening experience rather than just a bunch of songs. gorgeous occasional psychedelic influences and brilliant combination of instruments to make such a gorgeous sound
i've never really listened to new wave much before so this was a nice introduction to the genre! i have to say i wasn't a massive fan of the first track (sorry!) but the rest of the album was really good and the use of synths was so catchy and upbeat that it kept me wanting more!
look, i am not one to rate things negatively, i don't like doing it and i much prefer to see the good in the majority of music, however i just can not understand the appeal of this. the music itself is fine, but this guys' vocals are so grating they go right through me. not a pleasant listening experience whatsoever
his voice really works very well with the genre - that's my main takeaway from this but i do imagine this was really influential for the psychedelic scene and for that i really respect this album. really relaxing too!
i often find that when i see an album is this long, i have to encourage myself to listen to it. but this was such an experience that i finished the record (which with all the added tracks was over 2 hours) and barely realised any time had passed. this is the sort of music i love hearing from the 70s because it feels so pure and grounded in a way you don't often get anymore. george is a fabulous musician (as we all know) and this record is no exception! what a beautiful listening experience
this is such a powerful album with a powerful message, great production and brilliant lyricism. i did find some tracks weaker than others, but overall this project is spectacular and deffo worth a listen
what is going on?
the guitar on this is so awesome oh my god
nice! i think there's some really nice tunes in here a very enjoyable listen
i never thought i would really become a fan of jazz, but here we are. maybe i was just listening to the wrong stuff before
this was really intriguing - wonderfully weird with some beautiful tracks and a way of pulling you in by how unique it is. definitely a fun listen even if it isn't everyone's thing
i rarely ever like albums this much after the first listen but oh my god this absolutely blew me away. the guitar and drums are so crisp and the voice matches perfectly with the genre. i can see why this is something lots of people rave about and having never even dipped my toe into pearl jam before, i will 100% be listening to more of their discography!
drew barrymore absolutely slaps omg
i respect this as a record but unfortunately grime just isn't my thing
i gain respect for this album every time i listen to it - an absolute classic, really well produced and so timeless
you know in friends when ross starts playing his music for everyone and it's a collection of random sound effects over a repeated baseline? that is exactly what the second track sounded like. the other three were better - i can see why this is called experimental though
this was solid but it just dragged on for too long - too much of the same thing over and over
solid - very good rock hooks and really enjoyable to listen to!
really fun and solid punk album! really fun to listen to
i really enjoyed this! really well produced, very groovy and a really chilled listen
man this was one i've really been waiting to hear! bowie is really talented, every track on this had its own character and work really well as both individual tracks and the whole album experience. what a project
