Not bad, although now two days later I don't recall it! I just remember it being mid, a 3/5, okay for background music.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jan 16 2026

I wasn't expecting to like this, but I did, it was super relaxing and I quite liked the talking clips too.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jan 17 2026

Pretty good, I'd only ever heard or recognised the popular ones, but it was a solid album start to end.

21 by Adele
Jan 17 2026

A talented singer, great voice. I wished the musical arrangements were louder in the mix, and the singing let off now and again. This wasn't exciting, it was predictable, it was hard to get through but glad I did because Someone like you has some fantastic moments.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jan 18 2026

Fun, energetic. This would be great to queue up with guests over, as background music or blasted all over the neighbourhood.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jan 19 2026

This guy was a master of the 80s sound, which is good if you like that but I don't.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jan 20 2026

Feels like a concept album, OK for background music.

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Jan 21 2026

The production is excellent, most of the song writing is simple, but it was an easy listen.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Jan 22 2026

This was great, I loved his singing and his message. Will definitely spin this up again.

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Jan 23 2026

This was alright, I didn't find it memorable, it was generic sounding.

Low by David Bowie
Jan 24 2026

That was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing ambient album.

Jan 25 2026

This was pretty average, but an easy listen.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 26 2026

Excellent album.

Blur by Blur
Jan 27 2026

Some great songs on this, it's mostly a fun, anytime listen album, cheery chod progressions, energetic. 3/5

Nope, didn't like it. Some of the music was artsy and interesting, but really disliked the vocals. 1.5/5

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Feb 02 2026

I wouldn't have guessed this is a 70's album. Nice production, it has a modern classic feel to it. Stand out tracks: Someone I Care About, Modern World. Good album. 3/5

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Feb 03 2026

Solid album, enjoyable, a few standout moments. He uses the piano so well.

1984 by Van Halen
Feb 04 2026

Great! Can't believe I've never listened to it before. Fantastic guitar work, as expected, but surprised how much I liked it. 4

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Feb 19 2026

Good fun, unpredictable, an enjoyable listen.

Feb 20 2026

Fantastic album. Beautiful music, interesting, the vocals were delicate with real substance. Some lovely lyrics, with lines like "We kissed like we invented it" and "So yes I guess I'm asking you, to back a horse that's good for glue". My first 5 in this musical journey.

Arrival by ABBA
Feb 21 2026

Not my king of thing, but it's abba, no complaints here.

The Cars by The Cars
Feb 22 2026

Great song after great song, so well produced too.

The Score by Fugees
Feb 23 2026

I'd have liked this more with less talking.

The Wall by Pink Floyd

Some fantastic, iconic tunes on thus one. Too much fluff for a 4 though.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Feb 25 2026

Not bad, a fun listen

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Feb 26 2026

Chill, a good listen but nothing exciting

KE*A*H** (Psalm 69) by Ministry
Feb 27 2026

Meaty. It's been a long time since hearing this, and I remember it being heavier. That aside, I felt it was a bit repetative but still a solid album.

The Stooges by The Stooges
Mar 01 2026

That was pretty cool, some really nice psychedelic guitar work. 3.5

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Mar 03 2026

Fun, soulful, happy.. The master

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Mar 04 2026

Not good. At times it sounds like the guitar is playing along to a drum and bass click track, then the singing (if you can call it that) makes it really hard to complete the album. Camparing this to Captain Beefheart is absurd.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Mar 05 2026

Pretty good, no complaints, but nothing really stood out as interesting either.

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Mar 09 2026

Unexpectedly good. 15 seconds into the first song I was hoping it wouldn't be painful. My opinion changed, I'd listen to this again, probably the French half only.

Dummy by Portishead
Mar 10 2026

Awesome album. The masterpieces on this make up for the very few flailing moments

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Mar 11 2026

Boring, repetative. Surprised its not earlier than 1990 really.

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Mar 13 2026

I don't mind pavement, nothing about them have really jumped out to me, including this. Some solid rock.

Horses by Patti Smith
Mar 14 2026

Always a good listen. So many styles, timeless.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Mar 17 2026

Pretty good, wish it was longer. Simple and still interesting. Solid 3.

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Mar 18 2026

Nod bad, 2.5/5 I was thinking most of the way through how much it sounded like that 'Come on Eileen' song which I momentarily thought was The Cure for some reason.

Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma
Mar 20 2026

So relaxing, I'll definitely listen to this again.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Mar 21 2026

Good album, nothing to complain about, but I don't get the hype about it being a masterpiece. 7/10 or a light 4.

Soul Mining by The The
Mar 22 2026

Didn't enjoy this.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Mar 23 2026

Was okay, more bluesy than I was expecting. Light 3

Nevermind by Nirvana
Mar 24 2026

The more times I hear this, the more I like the second half more. Solid 9/10, or a 5/5.

Mar 25 2026

Was okay, and better than expected for so many shirt songs. In saying that, many songs could have cut to make this a non-double album. Also, I didn't find the attempted humour funny. Ill give it a 3. You need the glory, wtf.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Mar 26 2026

Some good ones on here, some not so good. Light 3

OK by Talvin Singh
Mar 29 2026

Not good. This felt like someone made or obtained some mediocre music and tried to add beats it.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Mar 30 2026

Not bad at all, some really good tracks, especially in the first half. Easy 3.

xx by The xx
Mar 31 2026

That was okay, really enjoyable at times, but nothing unforgettable.

Apr 01 2026

Damn, I thought this was going to be good, it wasn't. It was repetative, egotistical and boring. It sounded like the 90's and should stay there.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Apr 02 2026

This was pretty cool, the last two tracks especially, fantastic guitar work, a fun jam session.

The Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies
Apr 03 2026

It was okay, nothing memorable, nothing offense. Light 3, or 5/10

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Apr 04 2026

Pretty good, solid 3

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Apr 06 2026

Was okay, a few hits, everything else was unmemorable on one listen, but understand how someone could really get 8nto this album. But, for me, a 3.

Apr 07 2026

This was awesome. So now I got to listen to more of this guy, and also revisit some John Coltrane now that I know I may just like Avant-garde jazz. This just escaped in as a 4,but would have been an easy 4 if there was less piano and guitar.

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Apr 08 2026

This was okay, at times relaxing. I may not listen to it again, scoring is hard sometimes, I'd like to give this a 2.5,2 is too low, so 3 it is.

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Apr 09 2026

This was okay, was expecting better, all the songs have a somewhat similar sound/feel.

En-Tact by The Shamen
Apr 10 2026

Oh no, this it shit. Track 1, yeah nah, 1 hour and 7 minutes of this is gonna be tough. Track 2 amplified this feeling, shitty 80s/90's dance music with shitty beats and shitty synths.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Apr 11 2026

Rather enjoyable. The child crying on Runaway Child was a bit uncomfortable to hear.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Apr 12 2026

Good. Short songs that feel longer than they are, so I guess this had fantastic listening time value. 3

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Apr 13 2026

Was just okay. Vanilla, predictable.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Apr 15 2026

This got better and better as it went on, I need to give it another listen. 3 for now, but it could easily turn into a 4.

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Apr 16 2026

This was horrible. Boring melodies, repetative, void of atmosphere, not fun. One song was OK, the instrumental. Why is this even on the list?

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Apr 17 2026

Pretty good, relaxing. Although, It dies kind of sound like a stripped down version of the Smiths.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Apr 18 2026

That was okay, but nothing outstanding IMO.

One World by John Martyn
Apr 19 2026

This was tolerable, but I'd never listen to it again. It felt like a collection on B sides really, 2.5/3

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Apr 20 2026

Somewhat okay, a bit too poppy for me. The 2nd half was better, 2.5, but not 3.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Apr 21 2026

I was expecting better, almost looking forward to this one. But no, I didn't like it. One okay song, "The Cross", "Forever in my life" was embarrassing. 2/5

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Apr 22 2026

Enjoyable, some really good tracks, some average.

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Apr 24 2026

There were a few good moments, but mostly this was either boring or incredibly amateurish.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Apr 25 2026

Fantastic album, so many perfect songs, and it flows so well.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Apr 26 2026

Great album. I'd like to give this a 9/10, but don't think it's a 10, but it's better than 8/10, so 5/5 it is.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Apr 27 2026

Nothing exciting here. Though I aren't a fan of of the beach boys.

Aja by Steely Dan
Apr 28 2026

Fantastic album, great production.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 29 2026

Pretty good stuff, nothing extraordinary, but a good listen.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Apr 30 2026

Some bangers on here, very easy listen without being boring.

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
May 01 2026

Enjoyable album, I don't see why this one specifically ended up on this list though.

May 02 2026

Id never heard of this guy, had no idea what to expect. It was fantastic, I was very surprised to see it was a 70's album, expected much later.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
May 03 2026

Was okay. Good background music, I don't mint ambient music but this was a little lacking and quiet. But still, a light 3.

Ten by Pearl Jam
May 06 2026

Ten. 10/10, well 9/10, but higher than 8/10,so it's gotta be a 5.

Faith by George Michael
May 07 2026

Icky lyrics, icky 80's synths and beats, yuck.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
May 09 2026

I know this has some great songs on it, but as an album there was a lot of crap. It's a 2 for me.

May 10 2026

Pretty good, sounds like they had fun Makin it.

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
May 11 2026

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
May 12 2026

Wow, this was boring and repetative!

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 13 2026

Some great songs, John has an amazing voice.

Ray Of Light by Madonna
May 14 2026

I liked this more than I expected, I guess the lack of horrible 80's synths and beats, but not quite into the 2000s edgy Electronica made the music tolerable, and her voice is definitely nice. 3/5

Pump by Aerosmith
May 15 2026

I've never been an Aerosmith fan, they have a few ok songs, but I just am not keen on their sound.

Station To Station by David Bowie
May 16 2026

This got better as it progressed, the last few songs were great.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
May 17 2026

Awesome. I'd have rather this be instrumental, but the vocals while not bad at all, were minimal.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
May 18 2026

Mostly average, but some great tracks too. They do have a good sound, relaxing, comforting.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
May 19 2026

What a great variance, some of it ahead of its time.

The Specials by The Specials
May 20 2026

I didn't like this, there were a few songs with nice guitar licks that I have heard in newer music, so guess they have inspired others.

Repeater by Fugazi
May 21 2026

So good, these guys definitely inspired Nick oliveri.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
May 22 2026

Was pretty good, instrumental, not just bongos. Good background music perhaps.

So by Peter Gabriel
May 23 2026

Quite enjoyable. What a great voice.

World Clique by Deee-Lite
May 24 2026

'Groove is in the heart' is so much better than the other songs.

The Only Ones by The Only Ones
May 25 2026

The music was okay, but didn't think much of the singing. Just scrapes in as a 3.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
May 26 2026

David Bowie, good, but not as his best.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
May 27 2026

Fantastic. A good range, rough and gentle, love it.

May 28 2026

Okay for background music, nothing really interesting, but nothing unpleasant either.

May 30 2026

Pretty good album, heard it many times, but not sure why it's on the list!

Black Monk Time by The Monks
May 31 2026

A bit to long. They could have cut the silly songs, atleast it sounds like they had fun making it.

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
Jun 01 2026

Wasn't too bad but I'd never choose to listen to it, no tracks stood out, and the singing is monotonous.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jun 02 2026

What a satisfying and comforting voice, fantastic song writing, and interesting guitar work.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Jun 03 2026

Beautiful voice, maybe the album as a whole is little one dimensional.

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Jun 04 2026

Was just okay, some good singing, and some annoying singing.

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Jun 05 2026

Wow, so good. Relaxing, interesting. The style of drumming Waa the only let down.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Jun 06 2026

Pretty good, a nice collection of songs

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Jun 07 2026

Cool music, not much of a singer though. Good on him for trying. Some great guitar work.

Kimono My House by Sparks
Jun 08 2026

Bloody great, I'd never have guessed it was from 1974. it was so much like the last dinner party or similar.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jun 09 2026

Hard to believe this was less than 10 years before the rolling stones. Boring

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Jun 10 2026

Ahead of its time, some fantastic songs on here, I like the (probably unintended) low-fi sound.

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Jun 11 2026

Okay, but nothing that makes we want to listen again. Great musicians, and singers.

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Jun 12 2026

This was a breath of fresh air, interesting, pleasant, fun.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jun 13 2026

A few good songs

The Renaissance by Q-Tip
Jun 14 2026

Nah, didn't like it. Not the music or the vocals.

Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton
Jun 15 2026

Not bad at all, maybe. Cheating though, it's kind of a greatest hits, so lose a point for that! 3.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Jun 16 2026

Was okay, a bit long. Black Country Woman could have been Jack White and I wouldn't have been the wiser.

2112 by Rush
Jun 17 2026

Some good singing, very much like led zep, but think I prefer the more buesy music of led zep. Still an okay listen.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Jun 18 2026

What a beaeast, start to end.

Melodrama by Lorde
Jun 19 2026

Wow, so good. I dint think I was going to like this, but it I did. She's almost up there with Lana I think. It somewhat reminded me of Lola young and the last dinner party. So I guess Lorde has definitely inspired some other artists.

Guero by Beck
Jun 20 2026

Beck, Beck, what can I say, he's got the magic, always interesting.

Let It Be by The Replacements
Jun 21 2026

Was OK, I might listen again. 7/10 or 3/5.

The Undertones by The Undertones
Jun 22 2026

Not bad, although now two days later I don't recall it! I just remember it being mid, a 3/5, okay for background music.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jun 23 2026

I liked this, a bit bluesier than the other album I heard. A bit quieter, but not at all boring. 3/5 - almost 4.

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Jun 24 2026

Unexpectedly enjoyable. Constant Craving is not the best, but it's the only one I was familiar with. She has a rather nice voice, the arrangements were very good. 3.4/5

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jun 25 2026

This was pretty good, I reckon Frank Black likes it too.

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Jun 28 2026

This was really good, I was getting Adalita (Magic Dirt) vibes, and the well known and shiny 'heart of glass' at the end was a perfect finish.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jun 29 2026

This was OK, but nothing memorable. I think this guy inspired a lot of modern music, but I'm rating just on the sound. A 3.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jun 30 2026

A few songs were okay, but this was mostly meh

Black Metal by Venom
Jul 01 2026

Fantastic. I hear Melvins, Kyuss and lots of others in this.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jul 03 2026

How coincidental that I partially listened to this album only 3 weeks ago. I can't remember why I didn't complete it, but I did add the album and artist to my library. I liked this, however the drums and bass are not interesting, so I'll give this a 3.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jul 04 2026

Fantastic, I felt the 1st half was stronger, but overall very enjoyable.

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Jul 05 2026

This was not interesting. The singing was not good.

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Jul 06 2026

Cars was the only one I knew, funny that most of the songs kind of sounded like cars outtakes. Extra point for such a crunchy synth sound so early in the 80s.

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jul 07 2026

What a boatload of fun, I do wish the music was louder in the mix though.

Jul 08 2026

Track #1 "Djed" felt like several ideas bolted together, it didn't need to be 20 minutes. The remainder if the album see-sawed between music and wankery. I did not need to hear this. For 1996 it is not impressive or evolutionary.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Jul 09 2026

What great music, soothing, good walking music, makes the weather better.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Jul 11 2026

Was okay, but I was expecting better from what I've heard of this guy.

Country Life by Roxy Music
Jul 12 2026

I was expecting better! Don't know why, nothing to dislike.

Jul 13 2026

Not the best party music, but lots of fun. Loved it.

In Utero by Nirvana
Jul 14 2026

Superb

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams
Jul 15 2026

Oof. That was boring. Joy was kind of ok, but too late, second last song.

Third by Portishead
Jul 16 2026

Was OK, doesn't compare to Dummy, but still a few great tracks. 'We Cary On' was my fav.

Goo by Sonic Youth
Jul 17 2026

Solid, a good mix bag of relaxation and tension.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jul 18 2026

Enjoyable if I felt like listening to some Latin music

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 19 2026

The beats were annoying and so one dimensional, don't like the vocals either, predictable, void of any feeling. Sounds very amateurish.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Jul 20 2026

Was okay, some meh bits though.

Odelay by Beck
Jul 21 2026

Yo Beck, a good one, not his best though, there's a few tracks that don't grab me as some others do, but maybe I need a few more listens.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Jul 22 2026

Nice album, great for a quiet afternoon or morning. The final track was a perfect ending

Jul 23 2026

This was okay. I can only recall 'sexy boy' as another Air song prior to this, so I was expecting more, less ambient, this was like a movie soundtrack. Jokes aside, it was absolutely fine for some background music.

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Jul 24 2026

Was okay, not really my style, but certainly wouldn't complain if someone put it on.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 25 2026

Awesome, I'm so close to giving this a 5. I know they're pioneers, but I can't give everything a 5 can I? Fuckit, it's a 5.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Jul 26 2026

A bit weird, but some fun and psychedelic guitar work, will have to give this another spin.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jul 28 2026

Nice voice, nice melodies, enjoyable and catchy hooks, a very nice package. I especially like how Chrissie gives the rest of the instruments plenty of space. Easy 4.

New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
Jul 29 2026

I was considering a 2 for this, until Blockheads came around. Before then it just felt a bit to much of a parody, but some grit came through to pushit to a 3.

Rejoicing In The Hands by Devendra Banhart

Enjoyable, peaceful, no song in particular stood out, but Devendra has been added as a favourite artist, I wanna hear more.

I've listened to this one many times, many years ago, but still know all the lyrics. This time around a little more analytical, I loved it. The first track "Drive" a fantastic start, easing into it, and then just 3 tracks in, the energetic "The sidewinder sleeps tonights" really shifts the mood and lets the listner know what we're in for early on. I was almost cringing when "Everybody Hurts" started, given the monstrous airplay it received in the day, but the cringe quickly subdued. The rest of the album kept the strength of the first half, with such a spot on ending.

This pretty much defines what I dislike about modern hip hop.

Dookie by Green Day

So. Much. Fun.

The Man Who by Travis
Aug 06 2026

I don't see why this should be on the 1001 list, it really feels like it wishes it was a collection of Radiohead B sides. Not saying it's bad though.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Aug 07 2026

Relaxing, but lively. His voice is so soothing, and the musical arrangements are top notch.

Frank by Amy Winehouse

Fantastic! I really like back to black, but had never listened to this one. It wasn't as interesting I guess, but really enjoyable.

Music was enjoyable, didn't really like the vocals though, they were a bit annoying, both in style and tone/accent.

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
Aug 10 2026

I want to give this two scores, one foe how interesting some of the songs were and how beautiful the woman's voice was, the other score for how grating some of the music was, which seemed to soften by the end.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Aug 11 2026

I'm not a fan of Willie. He's not a bad singer by any means, just nothing I find interesting about it, pretty boring.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Aug 12 2026

Classic. It was amazing hearing it for the first time in 1993, and still amazing.

Purple Rain by Prince
Aug 13 2026

Some good songs, some that felt so 9ut of place, and I don't get the love for Purple Rain.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Aug 16 2026

So bloody good. So much better than Bad.

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Aug 17 2026

Fun, and messy. 3.5-4.0

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Aug 18 2026

I've listened to Hendrix a number of times, and yeah, I understand the hype, but always found it too bluesy for my tastes. This time, I really listened, the drums were amazing at times, and put this a I've mid for me.

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl

Sheesh. Boring. Didn't like it.
