Classic power pop. Enjoyed it quite a bit!

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jan 28 2026

Wow! Didn’t know I should have dropped a little cid before listening to this one! Definitely ahead of its time for 1971 and I guess I’d say Hit it and Quit it was the fave track. Either that or the title track. Not really my cup of tea, but can appreciate why it’s one of the 1001.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jan 29 2026

The early 2000s. A little more my speed, but not a mind scrambler. Good tunes including the “hit” Rebellion (Lies). I’d listen again

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Jan 30 2026

Classic jazz vocal and live to boot. Really good stuff.

The Clash by The Clash
Jan 31 2026

Not bad for late 70s punk.

Ocean Rain by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jan 31 2026

Echo & the Bunnymen were the band that the ultra mega cool kids liked in high school. I liked this one well enough, I guess. Killing Moon will always be the fave on this record.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Feb 01 2026

He’s the goat, no doubt about that! Miles kills it every time and Bitches Brew is no exception.

Feb 02 2026

I already knew some songs from this record, but I’ve been wanting a reason to listen to the rest of it. This was it, and I’m glad I did.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Feb 03 2026

Of course I’ve heard a couple tracks from this record, but I’d never heard it in its entirety. A true classic from a true legend.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Feb 05 2026

How have I not listened to this album? Found out a lot about Harry and his music by listening and reading his Wikipedia page. It’s a shame he passed so early…like so many before and after him. Loved this record for sure.

Moving Pictures by Rush
Feb 06 2026

This is definitely one of my fave Rush albums. Probably #2 only to be topped by Grace Under Pressure…but that’s just my personal taste. As far as Moving Pictures: The songs: perfect. The cover: iconic. The band: legends. I have no problem listening to this record, ever.

Play by Moby
Feb 07 2026

Surprised by a couple of these tracks I’d never heard and really liked them. Overall a good listen.

Kilimanjaro by The Teardrop Explodes
Feb 08 2026

Didn’t care for it too much

The Man Who by Travis
Feb 12 2026

Not bad, but again, not a mind scrambler.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Feb 13 2026

The classic early days of jazz. Can’t beat it.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Feb 14 2026

C’mon man. You definitely can’t beat this…well, maybe you can…wink, wink… Yeee heee!

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Feb 15 2026

This ain’t no party, this ain’t no disco, this ain’t no foolin around!

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Feb 16 2026

Classic power pop. Enjoyed it quite a bit!

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Feb 17 2026

An absolute classic, no denying this one.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Feb 19 2026

An iconic 90s staple.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Feb 26 2026

Another legend.

Suzanne Vega by Suzanne Vega
Feb 27 2026

I didn’t really like SV back in the day, but you know what? This really wasn’t as bad as I remember. I kind of enjoyed it actually.

Doolittle by Pixies
Feb 28 2026

Loud and proud. Wasn’t into the Pixies too much back then, but I see the appeal and enjoyed this one.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Mar 01 2026

An absolute classic and brought them into the extreme mainstream. Can’t remember if I had the LP or cassette, but I bought it when it was released.

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Mar 02 2026

Never heard this all the way through and I doubt I will ever again. I did appreciate the fact that the hit was buried within the album, and yeah, if it ever comes on in a party atmosphere I’m gonna sing it, but I just don’t like his voice.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Mar 03 2026

An absolute fave of mine from the beginning. I like the way Kendrick raps, the song structures, the way it was produced, the story…I like everything about it.

Mar 05 2026

Relaxing, ambient. Should have listened in the evening with low light and a quick hit. Instead, I was in the middle of my workday.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Mar 07 2026

Old standards beautifully performed by the legend himself. A nice listen.

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Mar 08 2026

I had no clue. These guys are great and a true garage band as they’re categorized. A little more raucous than some of the other bands around that time. I actually loved it.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Mar 11 2026

Love Kate Bush. I think I was IN love with her at one point during the 80s. I fondly remember this album from the Wherehouse days!

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Mar 12 2026

It was ok, but not mind blowing. Liked the first track.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Mar 13 2026

A nice retro listen. Definitely rhythmic…

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Mar 14 2026

Love this record. A shame that he was taken way too soon.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Mar 16 2026

I prefer disco era Bee Gees much more than this if I’m being honest.

Debut by Björk
Mar 19 2026

Iceland’s finest. Quirky and unique.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Mar 21 2026

A classic display of early 80s goth, punk. She’s the queen.

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Mar 23 2026

Misunderstood guy. mad genius? Not sure about that…

Kenya by Machito
Mar 25 2026

Enjoyed it, but not my usual go to.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Mar 28 2026

I never heard Nick Drake until the resurgence of Pink Moon in the 2000s for the car commercial. Full album sounds pretty good.

Being There by Wilco
Mar 30 2026

Hadn’t been a big fan of Wilco in the past but I liked it.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Mar 31 2026

This album kicks ass.

Metallica by Metallica
Apr 01 2026

The last semi solid Metallica record in my opinion. Definitely not my fave though…too many “hits”.

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Apr 03 2026

Um, curious…why is this on the list? I did not like this at all.

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Apr 05 2026

Nah. Not for me.

Apr 07 2026

Never listened to too many deep tracks by Queen. Good, but had to rate in the middle.

OK by Talvin Singh
Apr 10 2026
Dummy by Portishead
Apr 11 2026
Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Apr 14 2026

I’m not the biggest Stones fan, but I do like this one.

2112 by Rush
Apr 15 2026

Another classic. Again, not my fave Rush record(I have a couple others in line before this one), but it’s good.

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Apr 16 2026

Was an instant classic. Still stands up today.

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Apr 17 2026

Not really my cup of tea…

Apr 18 2026

High energy, repetitive club hits from the late 90s. I think I’m more of a Crystal Method fan.

The White Room by The KLF
Apr 19 2026

Didn’t listen. Original not available on Spotify

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Apr 21 2026

Classic rock at its finest. Houses of the Holy is still my personal fave though.

Fly Or Die by N.E.R.D
Apr 27 2026

I liked this. Different vibe.

Achtung Baby by U2
Apr 28 2026

Not my first U2 choice, again, more of an 80s U2 person, but this one’s pretty good.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Apr 30 2026

Enjoyed this too…some tracks better than others, but overall good.
