1001 Albums Summary

Wow! Didn’t know I should have dropped a little cid before listening to this one! Definitely ahead of its time for 1971 and I guess I’d say Hit it and Quit it was the fave track. Either that or the title track. Not really my cup of tea, but can appreciate why it’s one of the 1001.

The early 2000s. A little more my speed, but not a mind scrambler. Good tunes including the “hit” Rebellion (Lies). I’d listen again

Classic jazz vocal and live to boot. Really good stuff.

Echo & the Bunnymen were the band that the ultra mega cool kids liked in high school. I liked this one well enough, I guess. Killing Moon will always be the fave on this record.

He’s the goat, no doubt about that! Miles kills it every time and Bitches Brew is no exception.

I already knew some songs from this record, but I’ve been wanting a reason to listen to the rest of it. This was it, and I’m glad I did.

Of course I’ve heard a couple tracks from this record, but I’d never heard it in its entirety. A true classic from a true legend.

How have I not listened to this album? Found out a lot about Harry and his music by listening and reading his Wikipedia page. It’s a shame he passed so early…like so many before and after him. Loved this record for sure.

This is definitely one of my fave Rush albums. Probably #2 only to be topped by Grace Under Pressure…but that’s just my personal taste. As far as Moving Pictures: The songs: perfect. The cover: iconic. The band: legends. I have no problem listening to this record, ever.

Surprised by a couple of these tracks I’d never heard and really liked them. Overall a good listen.

I didn’t really like SV back in the day, but you know what? This really wasn’t as bad as I remember. I kind of enjoyed it actually.

Loud and proud. Wasn’t into the Pixies too much back then, but I see the appeal and enjoyed this one.

An absolute classic and brought them into the extreme mainstream. Can’t remember if I had the LP or cassette, but I bought it when it was released.

Never heard this all the way through and I doubt I will ever again. I did appreciate the fact that the hit was buried within the album, and yeah, if it ever comes on in a party atmosphere I’m gonna sing it, but I just don’t like his voice.

An absolute fave of mine from the beginning. I like the way Kendrick raps, the song structures, the way it was produced, the story…I like everything about it.

The Boss. A legend. Not a huge fan but I get it.

Relaxing, ambient. Should have listened in the evening with low light and a quick hit. Instead, I was in the middle of my workday.

Even though this is 26 years old, I’m not a fan of “new” U2. I like OG U2…from the 80s.

Old standards beautifully performed by the legend himself. A nice listen.

I had no clue. These guys are great and a true garage band as they’re categorized. A little more raucous than some of the other bands around that time. I actually loved it.

I never heard Nick Drake until the resurgence of Pink Moon in the 2000s for the car commercial. Full album sounds pretty good.

An American classic.

Hadn’t been a big fan of Wilco in the past but I liked it.

This album kicks ass.

The last semi solid Metallica record in my opinion. Definitely not my fave though…too many “hits”.
