Super classic stuff, I just always find myself going back to the live performances of these songs (especially My Generation). They have such an energy to them that doesn’t translate as well in the studio recordings. At least that’s my preference!

It has so much shock value that it isn't even enjoyable. I think you can feasibly make art about just about anything, especially controversial and "dark" topics--but I really struggle to understand the message that The Marshall Mathers LP is trying to convey. Is there a message at all, or is the shock value the point? I really tried to give this one a fair shake, but in a social culture where misogynistic ideals are coming back in vogue in certain parts of America, I found this one extremely hard to listen to.
