A nice old sound but the album doesn’t have much to offer in 2024 and it’s not to me at least clear how it différents from other temptation work I’ve heard

Strong 3 light 4 Def a good listen, some memorable tracks no fillers and a solid sound .. shout is great track

The 115th dream maybe one of my fav Dylan songs , the song writing is specialist throughout and the highs are good and consistent … even songs like on the road again which I didn’t necessity keep are a great listen Maggie’s farm , Mr tambourine man etc etc it’s gems

The highs are mid , overall it’s mediocre but an interesting sound …. Worth a skim

A pioneering and classic rap album , sounds dated on maybe the other side of raps peak. still, chuck D grabs your attention and the production is interesting. Not a fan of Flav, his solo track is a hard skip A few listens got me used to the sound and made it enjoyable but i don’t see a lot of replay value here , not in 2024 … i bet if it was 88 though id have this on repeat

The vocals are outstanding , the instrumental is very simplistic and doesn’t add much . The album itself sounds kind of dated and the story telling doesn’t resonate like some of the oldies to me . It’s a strong listen but with little replay value for me

The second album in my heavy metal journey and good one at that , the org and electric guitar interplay stands out, the vocals are solid Can’t wait to run to this, just short of that rare perfect tier , a solid 4

on the softer side of rock, travis doesn't offer anything too intriguing. The vocals are good specially notable in songs like as you are, its catchy in parts but i dont see too much replayable value here. Did't havee to slug through it though , a light 2/5

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy an indie rock album this throughly but the two vocal dancers make this album very enjoyable . Hooting and howling , got the taste on our tongue are great catchy tracks , it’s an enjoyable listen end to end as well. The instruments don’t dazzle , a solid 3

A classic post punk rock album with classic tracks (w/wo you ) and still haven’t found , clean solid production and good vocals. The lyricism is solid and the drum is tight and consistent. The sound seems predictable in 2024 and I don’t seem to get enough out of active listening to give it that 4 stamp

Clearly ahead of its time, a great work in creating an ambiance with instruments and exploring diffent moods … Not aloe of replay value and seems like an album that might grow on me … me not being a huge fan of ambiance music and the sound being replicated so many times now makes it hard for me to put it higher than a 3 but the innovation and spacey vibe of the album makes it hard to go lower A solid 3 with chance for long term appreciation

I enjoyed the guitar at parts , the sound is rough but it grew on me … the guitar solos stand out here and there but overall its not an easy listen… I suspect I’ll appreciate having heard this in my music journey though

In this folk classic, Dylan who I always have a sore spot for puts out multiple classic tracks . Blowing in the wind , hard rain gonna fall are amongst my all time favs .. .. However I have to admit the album had some slower spots and doesn’t offer much in its instrumentals ( as folk music rarely does ) … Regardless the lyricism , and my fandom for Dylan and the classic status of half a dozen tracks here makes this a solid 4

My third Dylan already in less than 30 , have to admit the sound is getting repetitive … with 4 adds in 9 and some classics like Rolling Stones , ballad of thin man and highway 61 this is yet another class Dylan wouldn’t wana miss Ultimately I’m landing on where I did for the previous Dylan projects , a solid 4 .

Nice in parts. Very classic rock vibes and some nice parts . Don’t see a ton of replay values , it’s always nice to hear some melancholy rod Stewart though … a firm 2 A nice example of an album where I enjoy side B more than A

a very intresting mix, nice deep lyrics, love the mesh of the different elements... i expect this to age well, specially the uniqueness of the jazz pop sound which im excited to try in diff contexts. a very strong 3.

Classic folk stuff , always enjoy the genre even if I get 5 this week , I think I prefer an older raspier cohen… a notch below Dylan and Joni Mitchell, a mid level 3 .

apparently my taste has evolved as this indie rock album captured me pretty quick. They were times (opening few songs ) and the instrumentals around attack el robot which made me consider a high score here Unfortunately the vocals are ultimately underwhelming and some of the songs in the middle sound repetitive and lost my for a bit. I can see myself replaying this a few times but not ultimately a special one , landing at a 3

A solid work in country, catchy tunes and a fun listen… did I enjoy it ? For sure … would I have been ok to die and not have heard it ? Ya probably . Historical impact aside , a solid 2

An unbelievable debut album, LZ1’s drums guitar , the progressive rock and the beautiful guitar sound keeps you engaged the entire time Closing in on a perfect album, LZ1 lacks slightly in polish and suffers from having only a few replayable single songs … a classic , LZ1 is a high level 4

A fun and solid punk rock album which outside of pulse beat track does not offer much ground breaking , Regardless a fun and interesting listen , excited to run or workout to this … idk if a punk rock could ever make it to a 4/5 for me though as this is fairly solid

A lot of classic pop tracks I’m pretty familiar with. It doesn’t dazzle as an “album” as opposed to a collection of great songs and the insuttumental is not outstanding enough but the song writing and catchyness and classic factors don’t let it drop below a solid 4

Iron Maiden’s debut album is an energetic and enjoyable listen that showcases the band’s raw talent and sets the foundation for their future work. a fun time , a good listen. I def seem to have a soft spot for 60s rock/ pop rock. A lot of songs are catchy , not beatles catchy but a good time. It doesn't stand out anywhere to warrant a 4 or above for me but I also did enjoy bopping my head and dancing around all morning to it too much to rank it lower. KICKS JUST KEEP GETTING HARDER TO FIND

Fan of Johnny for sure but just couldn’t get into this album , got this mid trip in Miami so the mood wasn’t really appropriate but have it marked as a revisit when I’m back home probably in a dark room late at night

It’s def old school and a throwback but nothing really stands out for me , it’s a fun enough listen to keep it from being a 1 but lacks the depth I neee to put it into “good” 3 category

love the mood setting, the calm story telling, the beautiful background instrumentals .. the concept and lyricism in intriguing and makes me wana listen more intently. I will revisit this for sure until i have feel like i have graspped the full story but its a very fun listen without it still

First Stevie wonder! Living for the city 🔥 One of my fav and most respected artists out there … def a project I will revisit over and over “Innervisions” by Stevie Wonder is an outstanding album that masterfully blends soul, funk, and R&B with innovative use of synthesizers and complex arrangements. Stevie’s expressive vocals and thought-provoking lyrics tackle significant social issues like racism, drug abuse, and urban struggles. Standout tracks like “Living for the City,” “Higher Ground,” and “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” showcase his ability to craft songs that are both musically engaging and deeply meaningful. Overall, “Innervisions” offers a compelling and influential listening experience that highlights Stevie Wonder’s artistic genius and maturity.

Super fun, very pop … tempted to rate this a 4 ( which would be my highest pop album ) but ultimately a pop rock as an album fails to impress me as much as other genres … At the same time i see high replay single value here and a fun time with a record I can put on in many happy occasions and singles I will certainly return to if there were a couple of more Fernando 🔥🔥🔥tracks this would be a serious 4

This is one of those albums that is really a sentiment to my growing taste throughout this jourjey … Heavy metal and grunge are strongly growing on me Home sick , country yard and the title track are strong rotation plays going forward as is the album … a very strong 3

It’s the sgt pepper lonely heard clubs band ! While Not my fav Beatle, this album is beautiful. She’s leaving home is brilliant , a day in life didn’t lick with me as much . Most other songs are really fun , def enjoyed the thestry ones the most out the rest .. I’m sure I’ll have a couple of 5 Beatles albums ( revolver) but this one is just a tad below

Classic heavy metal work I had heard before , it has a very strong start but I’m not a a fan of the B side Unforgiven and nothing else matters are some of my fav side and the upbeat tracks like sandman compliment it well

Not a fan , a couple of songs briefly grabbed my attention but this mix of punk pop rock is not for me

Really enjoyed this , specially the first lesson was super fun … a lot off adds ,great guitar work and intriguing lyrics … enjoyed the jazz incorporation and clean polished sound , specially impressive for 1972… ultimately just short of a 5, as i felt the last couple of tracks were a letdown and the album sound as a whole lacks long term replay value ( but has great short term one) it’s a very strong 4

It’s a fun album I like the sound and the vibe but it just didn’t rock with me today. I’ll revisit it down the road see if it plays differently … Silent all these years is def a stand out and I like hearing some jazz vibes always , getting this after steely dan hurt its value

my first album on this journey that I actually heard when it dropped! hile yeezus was controversial, i was always a fan of the mood and the dynamic productions. Not my favourite kanye album i cant deny the impact this has had on my listening patterns and how many of this songs dominate my workout and other playlists .. the nina simone sample is specially beautiful

Couldn’t quite get into it , will have it down for re- listens down the road … like the moody calm jazzy vibes for sure , see it as something I could def work too or pop into a vinyl on a winter afternoon

A lot of good songs I can appreciate , for some reason I can’t quite get through this as an album without zoning out however the vibe and sound is highly enjoyable .

A nice work of early hip hop with multiple notable tracks ( it’s tricky ) and an Aerosmith feature … it’s not something I’d play back too often but it’s a fun enough listen and the raw energy is enjoyable

The title track is a classic and there’s some nice other singles here but it falls short of the quality of his group works and the experimental tracks sound too rough in most places for my liking

My first Costello ! I can see a lot of the talent here and it’s certainly polished and well produced with good vocals and instrumental work . It doesn’t have the consistency or z factor for me to give it a 4 but it’s a very solid work and enjoyable listen

Typically I like to save my 5s for albums that are conceptual , sound spacey and flow great. Revolver is not quite excelling in any of these categories although it flows well and embodies core 60s rock as well as any. It maybe close to a compilation than a convention 5 album for me but it’s hard to deny it when every single song is an add for me. Whether it’s the sole experimental track , tomorrow never knows or the ever catch taxman or the psycheldic yellow submarine, the revolver never misses . In its own very Beatles way, the revolver is excellence

I’m not usually one to put on a jazz album but something very soothing and soulful about this def kept me engaged . I’m not sure where it will fall within my rotation but def glad to have heard it

Despite being exactly the type of album I’m looking for on this journey with it being a popular rock artist which I haven’t heard before the Kings of Leon Shaked heartbreak fail to impress me in any substantial way While the album is a fun lesson, it is neither technically impressive or catchy enough or experimental enough to grant a higher score than a 2 for me

Blues psychedelic rock mixed with folksy vibes , and successful experimental work .. just the type of album that hits the right spots for me… Haven’t heard much of the doors before but they lived up to the hype

Nice mellow and polished folky rock , i don’t see a ton of replay value for me as the album doesn’t differentiate itself from its time but a good listen and could make for some fun late night mellow listening

This album def grew on me in multiple listens , it’s post punk but melodic and at times orchestral It’s just below amazing for me in all of these categories to justify a 4 but def a worthwhile listen and maybe just unique enough to not be lost in all the 70-80s rocks albums

Every picture tells a story drags a little at times , but I enjoy rod Stewart raspy voice and specially the melancholy pieces It’s not quite at the level of led zepplin in its instrumental but it’s compact and fun . Rods voice doesn’t work as well in the more lively instrumentals like I know I’m losing you and the rock progression is not up to bar with the best , keeping this a notch below the top tier for me

Def a fun listen and very smooth in the background, this album didn’t quick impress me enough while I appreciate the technical skills and lyricism It maybe getting seemingly a dozen early 70s rocks album in a row but the level of enjoyment wasn’t higher than a 3 for me

A lot of classic singles I’m familiar with and had in rotation for years . The production is layered and polished , 50s bars don’t blow your mind but keep a nice Flow and fit in seamlessly with the production for the most part The subject matter is stagnant and the album flow is ok . It’s lacking that wow factor as an album for me to put it in the upper echelon but a high and solid 3

Wasn’t a fan of garage rock or its early revival , but I found white strips pretty fun to listen to … multiple songs stood out in the first side ; I wonder if this is a gateway for me to listen to more of the genre

Def not a genre I’m super familiar with but screaming trees seems to be great st capturing the essence of grunge The moody lyrics raw instrumentals fill a soundscape . The vocals are ok imo and the instrumentals don’t dazzle

Big fan of Sade and super familiar wit this album , not my fav Sade but no one does smooth quite like Sade … soulful and poppy and beautiful … a stable in my rotation

Ahead of its time , it’s funky catchy in parts and an easy listen in all the good ways . I think this would have been one of my fav albums if I was listening in 1969. 55 years or so later it holds up, it’s experimental in all the right ways , the instrumentals are fun and interesting and it holds up on replays

I like Peter Gabriel and Collins and some genesis and tried to get into this project . Unfortunately , even after a couple of listens it just didn’t click for me . It strikes me as something that may grow on me overtime if I keep revisiting but as for today, it’s hard to say I liked it

British folk rock super warm and upbeat love the medleys and the voice is beautiful

No one sets a mood , specially an introspective layered and somber mood quite like the cure. Perfectly ragged , polished but raw in the right ways , where other albums get stuck in top of ur mind . Robert smiths disintegration sneaks in the back . Never rushed , it dazzles you slowly by setting a mood and then being beautiful in pieces and being intriguing all the same . a classic, it’s hard to stop listening to it

A very unique mesh , kinda a modern day price Pyramids bad religion are very beautiful , I don’t quite connect with the A side as well but love the closing half … never these a very strong debut album with great vocals and unique and interesting mesh of sounds

The album is melancholy perfection . Manages to make its own space is a pretty crowded folky dark music vibes by going darker than most

Well here officially does my fav run of about 7 great albums going back to the bayou … I get that this album is supposed to be satirical but I guess most jokes are lost on me in the bad music.. there’s really only small parts of this I find listenable , although the ugly song was funny

Initially disappointed grew to enjoy it throughout the day … it doesn’t have the spike hard non stop energy of I but it’s beautiful in its progressions , the guitar is forever amazing … the folky mellow tracks are a weaker spot imo but it is distinctly and in all the good ways , led zeppelin

Very polished for an indie , beautiful samples but doesn’t blow your mind. I can def see myself coding to this

its an ok listen, def ambient. Maybe for the time it was revolutionary and forward thinking but in 2025 this sound like stuff we may confuse with AI generated music. its supposedly moody and it does set a mood but the layering is just not that impressive and it doesnt have the nostalgic soul samples or rock samples some other works do. I feel i would have been perfectly ok not having heard this before i die It is a nice change of pace form the barrage of new 70s rock which I’ve gotten recently

This album did certainly get some extra eyes on it due to it having been released during the peak of the me too movement by a female artist dealing with female issues , however it is genuinely good and at times thought provoking music. The comparison to Lauren hill at overblown as neither the rapping or signing is up to par but a fun listen in any case I am enjoying this hiatus from classic rock with the past few albums as well , nice to get some diversity

The fusion works for me , it’s smooth ambient and often beautiful . It’s different than most of the albums on here which makes it stand out and it doesn’t quite have the highs that some of my top rated albums do but it works … I can have this on and get through a hour of coding feeling peaceful

post punk is not my fav genre but its one where i can appreciate the art, this is apparent here as the guitar solos and the talent comes through .. the vocals are not my fav and the album not dynamic enough for me. The art rock component i did enjoy as my ears are warming up more and more to the experimental sides but it wasnt GREAT enough for me to justify the top tier

Number 100!!!!!!! The kinks , while fun in bits and catchy at times , suffer from a lack of substance and instrumental creativity over the span of an album . Enjoyed a couple of tracks but overall uninspired

I like and certainly enjoy Stevie wonder , he has some great classics specially in songs in key of life. Over the course of an album , I found it underwhelming . Superstition and sunshine of my life are great , Tuesday heartbreak and blame is on the sun are intriguing in their own ways but it’s missing that wow factor for me. I imagine watching Stevie live must be one of the most memorable performances

My run of albums I can’t get enough is well behind me as this is another in the stream I couldn’t really get into I tried to enjoy this, I’m a fan of progressive rock for sure but close to the edge missed the mark for me . I did like it in parts, it is ambients. I think it’s worth a listen but probably not many more for me

Costello is talented that comes through in most his work … this one was really hard for me to get into initially I liked brutal youth more than this , but I think Elvis Costello music kinda grows on you now for the second album in a row .. a strong 2 but a 2 for me

i hadn't heard any "glammour rock" before so this was a beautiful surprise. the only other bowie i've had is station to station which i did like but was kinda underwhemled by. This, made sense. The vocals are beautiful, i love a good piano and this is a great one --- the way lady grinning soul starts , its experimental its different its psychedelic and progressive

Another Getz in the span of a week! I wish i got this one a little later so i had enough time to sit with Getz/Gilberto which i loved its mellow techincal and beautiful. Its exactly the type of album id love to put on while i do my work, read or have dinner. The saxophone is great, the lack of standout vocal tracks relative to the other work is however notable. I think if i get this album with some gap , its closer to a 4 but for today its a strong 3

It’s not bad but it’s not great in any aspect. Its not that I don’t like folk music or slow singer songwriters but my ranking of Joan baez john cash (this one I come to regret ) albums as 2 was the same criticism here It’s way too monotone for 52 minutes without being distinctly great in any aspect I think beck is also a tier below Joan baez and johnny cash and Leonard cohen for me so vocally but the guitar is beautiful in just enough places To avoid a 1 here

well its def weird to hear a white guy say the N word i like the blues and the influence here is fun, i dont think the punk mesh if my fav, im not a punk fan for the most part. If youre gonna fuse blues with rock i think i prefer the led zep 1 type of fusions , heavier rock the heroin song is catchy and hearing this was intresting just for how unique a fusion it is , just not for me

Blue is a fun listen it’s catchy at parts melodic and has some fun instrumentals I’m not big on pop albums but I think I prefer Brit pops and this sounds to me like a sensible evolution from the age of Beatles . enjoyed it

This is certainly ambitious . Stills album spans 4 different genres ( sorta it’s got similarities across them as well) maintaining a level of quality in each I think my fav is the wilderness but I did enjoy the entire thing . I would have given it a higher score if some of the blending happened in indivisible songs rather than over the course of an album and or the transitions stoodout more. A solid 3

i am def growing more fond of instrumental albums throuout this journey, i gave gatz some strong 4s and 3s just last week , ive enjoyed jazz albums and have highly rated a lot of progressiv erock bongo rock is the bedrock of a lot of hiphop - my fav genre and i can appericiate that .. as a whole however, and as a standalone album it doesnt do enough for me

I infamously gave Johnny cash a 2 for the man comes around , an album that I ended up playing a ton and is easily under valued . ( I did get it Johnny a club day at Miami ) Stardust has similarities , it’s a cover album , the instrumentals are underspokn . I have generally stuck with a 2 for this beautiful but monotone albums and I don’t think I’ll regret this one

I try not to let any one song dramatically change my impression of the album but Tutti fruity on Ruiuuudytutty fruity O WAMNA WAMNADAMAMA or something like that It’s fun and classic , seriously how is this 1959 and sound this good ?! It does get kinda repetitive over the course of the 40 mins or so

Black crowes Magnus opus doesn’t separate itself from the other hundreds of rocks on here in anyway but it is polished energetic and hard well well done and to my taste …

I enjoyed the instrumental work a lot here but the lyrics get reparative . It’s still a strong 3 for me as as I seem to have a soft spot for glamour rock Also What exactly is glamor rock

I have enjoyed jazz more recently … and this is nice enough .. it didn’t really keep my attention and I think I prefer smoother stuff or some fusions for now , glad to have heard it though

Ok I think I like jazz … specially when there vocals as beautiful as Sarah … I also found the live aspect of it to be enriching it does make me feel like I’m there at times and the transitions are beautiful

Psychedelic blues with some fun writing and beautiful signing …. Enjoyed this a lot … the instrumental work is really fun it shines though in the buried alive , Mercedes Benz is one of the most unique standout songs ( I wonder how that would be received today ) and me and bobby mcgee brings them together perfectly I seem to have a soft spot for early 70s rock

My third Costello album and a new sound yet again. I know there’s a lot of complaints on this about the number of Costello albums but the three I’ve heard have been distinctly different and the same goes for this one As is fit for a late 70s album it’s got a subtle but growing synth influence , Elvis does sound younger here and just a little less raspy. I did enjoy the band work here even if I didn’t find the vocals a great fit

Who would have thought when I started this one of my highest genres would be glamour rock ?! Was every album in 1973 glamour ? Ok anyways , this was fun , very theatrical but I liked that I do like this album but is it good ?

Ah so that’s who inspired Eminem … Metal meets hip hop? I really enjoyed my first nu metal … why didn’t anyone tell me about this ?

I enjoy the doors and blues/rock is up my alley. This however, while being fun didn't strike the same chords doors usually for me (loved la woman) or most high calibre rock blues album. It was fun though

KIWANUKA self titled is soulful moody and beautiful . A few of these songs are headed for my R&B playlist I had heard love and hate before and think I still like it better but I’m sure there some familiarity bias there and I think this will age well

I really enjoyed this, it has a very post punk moody just enough synth and the right tone of melancholy. I imagine this will age very well

beautiful ,gets a little repetitive which keeps it from the top tier for me not super mundane to give it a lower score

Although this Prince of the Curtain doesn't quite have that special five-factor for me, it is ahead of its time, unique, and outstanding as most Prince projects are. The blend of synth, funk, pop, and Prince's singing makes him a standout singer-songwriter, clearly ahead of his time. I thoroughly enjoyed this and there's quite a few tracks I will come back to.

it blends in with the very similar singer songwriters doing melo melancholy music here. its a fine listen, but nothing that holds my interest or warants relistens for me

pop punk grunge feeling with some melodic elements. Not bad and different in some aspects but ultimately blends in too much for my taste with other albums of its genre and doesnt have enough single standouts to get to a 3

Velvet and nicos album does a great job of carving out a unique space midst the era of classic rock. It’s soothing and consistent and still experimental. I don’t think the experimental parts and some of the routines click for me but I’m glad to have revisited this as part of this journey

Another indie project I really like , that’s def been a new development form me in this project as well Hour of bewilderbeast is experimental and messy but it works , it comes together and creates a coherent and beautiful atmosphere

Classic stadium rock, doesn’t blow me but I can totally hear how crazy something like morning glory would be live

A very polished historical reference having record, I think i like this more than the velvet work. The historical references alone make this a 4 but the music is beautifully soothing too

Grew on me a ton second listen, Psalm is so beautiful

This one was tough to rate. While I recognize its importance as a precursor to the synth-pop and EDM wave I’ve become familiar with, it now sounds so close to the current landscape that it doesn’t stand out. Tracks like Under the Tide sound like something straight from an Illenium set. Well-produced and polished, but lacking that wow factor or freshness in 2025.

This was beautiful and mellow. Not necessary as active a listen as a lot of other 4s here. psychedelic folk-rock that really clicked with me. The layered guitars and prominent string sections, especially on tracks like A House Is Not a Motel, create a rich, hypnotic atmosphere.

Heavy metal has grown on me but going through 60 mins of it is still too much to ask . I did enjoy the fusion here, although I think I was hoping for more Brazilian and less nu metal … I will work my way through this and have a few songs for my workouts now though

It was beautiful in parts but repetitive. Enjoyed the post punk/ new synth vibes but not a project I see myself visiting often down the future road.

The bands album is not revolutionary but it’s compact , sounds good and has a few diff interesting instrumental beats. I enjoyed it ok

Glad to have heard this, it’s cool hearing morrisey with rich band instrumentation behind him. I do feel like he made the right move going solo here , it’s kinda odd hearing him be poppy although it’s not bad it’s just , could be great I’m curious to checkout more of smith / morrisey albums in this or on my own , looks like he has quite a coming into your own story

I’ve enjoyed both the faces and solo rod Stewart album I’ve had already . This one , while fun didn’t really carve out any space with me and melded more into back ground music . I think I like rods raspier cuts and this didn’t have enough

Brazilian music has def grown on me and I found myself going back to this throughout the day … it’s certainly groovy and engaging , the type of music that comes in my head when I think salsa done at a very high quality

I actually had no idea the legendary pink Floyd founder had a solo album after leaving . I wanted to like it , and I did it in parts , it’s intimate emotional but it doesn’t hit the mark much for me musically. Still a fascinating listen considering the context

Depeche Mode continues to hit the right synthpop notes for me. Music for the Masses is front-loaded with strong, melodic tracks—“Strangelove,” “Sacred,” and “Behind the Wheel” all stood out. Side A is nearly flawless for my taste. Side B loses me here and there, but I still appreciate the atmosphere and mood it carries throughout. “Pimpf” was an intriguing closer. Overall, a light 4 and another win in my growing Depeche Mode rotation.

Grew to enjoy this in some replays , it’s a unique enough sound and the electric works hands out

Wow — an indie rock album I really like, didn’t think I’d see the day. To be fair, this is much more polished than most indie out there. Soft Shock and Runaway were the early standouts for me. The mix of synth energy, Karen O’s emotional vocals, and the bold glam edge gave this a ton of replay value. This felt cohesive and dynamic start to finish. A pleasant surprise.

Ok this is really fun. Took me a few days to form an opinion but it’s funky upbeat and has a lot of nice fusions

A proto-genre album in one of if not my fav genres … really enjoyed the middle parts , there’s def a lot of bits I like here and rod Stewart seems to be perfectly cast here , the guitar is just the way i like

A step ahead of most singer song writer works here with its diversity of genres and instrumental creativity . Billy has a very inviting voice to top it . Very good, not enough experimentation for me to put it in that top tier

Learn to work the saxophone 🎷 I had some initial resistance as this is so different from buy a thrill , then work i associated with them and loved. Deacon of blues caught me on first listen and then album grew on me by Josie . I knew second listen was gonna be fun and it was . Ok this really grew on me , I love the fusion the jazz the guitar the vocals .. feels like the type of album I can listen to in a lot of settings … a classic

Fun jam session listen , probably nothing I go back to much and it didn’t blow me out of water but didn’t mind having it on

Fleetwood Mac operates in the soft rock space I really enjoy . The album had a lukewarm start for me but won me over by end of side B . Enjoyed this

REM once again fades into the background for me , nothing bothersome but nothing interesting , the beat in shaking through was fun but otherwise writing this off as early synth pop I didn’t vibe with

A very fun fusion for me, I’ve been warming up more and more to jazz funk and have always loved soul… The world is a ghetto is a near perfect jam session , type of album I can have running all day , get something new each time and bop the groovy parts , sing alone the hooks and mimick the jazz

this grew on me more than i anticipated from a stoner rock vibe. I think I like the psychodelic stuff here but the dragging on nature of it gets to me. A decent listen

This was fun enjoyed the funk and a few banges Freddie dead , pusha man … it’s a bit below that top tier for me in terms of consistency but a fun time

This was def interesting, chores of enhancments is one of those albus that carves a unique sound and space for me. Giant sand seems to be able to seamlessly transition between genres and flows giving a sense of music mastery. The album flows well too. I don't see myself revisting this too often but something about it , probably its uniqueness) makes me very glad to have heard it

I enjoy supertramp, breakfast in america has bee in my playlist for some time. Crime of the century is not quite as catchy but it has very similar strength, beautiful piano, philosophical lyrics and nice progressions . It lacks enough catchy and top tier songs for me to rate it in top albums but very enjoyable

Big rap fan and the story telling and image painting here is really good. I do find most jokes funny , although I don’t agree with their sentiments , the skits maybe go on a little too longer and there’s a couple of skips but it remains one of the better rap albums

A well researched history album I hadn’t heard of done by an artist I really like and done very well… that’s exactly the type of gem I joined this project looking to find . I can’t wait to play this when I learn more about ww1 and connect some dots Musically, Harvey does not disappoint . Her voice has aged from her 2000 stories , she has darker aged tone. Daunting at times , alongside her beautiful poetry , Harvey sets a tone. The instrumentation is apt, gingles are well done and they handle the heavvier moments. It me the song writing where it ultimately excels

Not sure why there’s so many top negative comments here but I enjoyed it . I do like female singer song writers and this was a nice mesh

Live version of what is already pretty ragged rock largely missed the mark for me . I haven’t heard of them before so maybe if I had some familiar id feel different

Ah my first trip hop… this was smooth and beautiful and relaxing … extra points for sorta reminding me of the genre I hadn’t listened to in quite a while

Disappointing at first as it sounds like a lot of other Brit pop this list is full of , as the album progresses the songs become more layered while maintaining their accessibility

Sitting at what seems like the juncture of soul / funk giving way to rap in hip hop , Lauren hill excels in both sides. Groovy flows that remind me of Curtis mayfield and Marvin Gaye, lyrical raps on par with anyone, fun ragge and tons of beautiful r/b integration.

Made me dance early on , some fun lyrics … the emotional parts didn’t hit as much , didn’t like most of the lushness but enjoyed the melody

A classic but dated original in gangster rap . Im pretty familiar with the history but actually hadn’t heard many songs on the album . The rhymes are def dated but Dre’s production stands the test of time.

Lush and dense , i tried to give this album a few tires as it sounds like something i can grow to appreciate , will reviver

Like this a bunch, there’s something about the simple lyricism and serious material that drew me in as well as the mood

Well that’s the third and final of their albums for me on this list . An artist I had some familiarity with but hadn’t delved into and have now heard a bunch from . Surprisingly this became an artist I bonded with my mother on so it may stay in my playlists for some time . The album itself was beautiful , easily my fav of theirs and a true 5 contender . It’s peaceful soothing and still attention grabbing

This is a significant album for me as it’s the last album I had listened to on my own prior to starting this list … it’s inclusion the list was a determining factor on me starting this off I’m glad to say I still enjoy this immensely , maybe more. It’s a true testament to how my ear has grown over the last 200 plus days in this project and air remains a standout

Not generally a fan of the ambiance albums but this has enough intricacy to be enjoyable for me. I can see myself playing this, as a chill background

There’s a lot I like here, the song with timber lake is really fun , the singing is soulful and the rapping is fun. It does feel like it captured the time really well… it drags on a little for me

Had def heard a lot about this recently and with ozzy passing recent I was very aware of the context around it. Although musically fine, it didn’t do much for me . I can imagine If it’s 1970 and I haven’t heard any metal, this may blow my mind, but now that I have , this blended in and at times underwhelmed

I almost def caught this in the wrong days mid vacation but it failed to Grab my attention in the ways their other works had

Classic rock stuff , enjoyed the riftier parts … the soft stuff don’t hit as much for me but it was a fun bike ride album

Fun upbeat, listened to this on a couple bike rides in NY and def keeps the vibe up … the glamour rock which I’ve enjoyed is also audible in multiple parts which I imagine are bowies finger print

my complaint of lack of diversity of melodies and moods in country albums shows up here as well but there’s something about the record ( maybe how long it’s been since I got country ) stands out to me. The lyrics do grab my attention at time as well and the first few songs are super fun

Ok I came in pretty pessimistic … I’m not a huge fan of punk music and the album is literally called garbage … I played it through passively and was ready to dismiss it. Thankfully I have a 2+ play policy and boy did it grab me …. I’m not sure why I was so quick to dismiss it as it really wore on me … it got stuck on my replay for the day !! This is exactly why I am doing this project !

Classic soul, def enjoyed a few songs here… it’s missing a little grove that I’ve gotten used to with some of the later works for me

I had actually missed some stadium rock , it had been a while . Slipperwhen wet has its classic tracks and generally is upbeat and fun with a banging opener … it does lose its flame by the end

I found their previous album to sound dated but aftermath specially in its first few track was much more to my speed

The vocals work for me and the instrumental is nice and engaging … love my female singer writers specially Canadian ones

ok I was kinda fully ready to hate this because who wants to hear Buckley depress them for an hour... but the album surprised me, more range than I expected and his cover of lilac wine was extremely good. OFC hallelujah is a classic .. i'm still not going to be tempted to play this very often but some credit is surely due here for the vocal range and solid range

turns out , as I learnt from this project, I didn't love progressive rock coming in, or knew exactly what it was. It's not my fav genre, and this album was a miss for me at the start. However, after a few playbacks i came around to it more and ended up enjoying a few tracks specially on side B.

so this is def a genre i've grown to like since the cure first listen.. I did enjoy this and it sure sounds like robert smith at part but i cant fight the feeling that something is a miss from my first love

Great soulful stuff enjoyed it

As I restart the journey here this album was a little too experimental for me to get into right away, def added a few songs and enjoyed it and will revisit for but day one it landed at a solid 3

Appreciated the instrumental depth, mellow beautiful and well executed Def a keeper

I generally don’t enjoy a full punk rock album as it doesn’t give me the musical depth I like , but crossing the redsea was a surprisingly fun listen I could hop my head too all day

I’ve really started to enjoy cleaning over the past couple of years. This album held up really well to replay. The lyrics are nice of the instrumental. Experimental sense is really well done I really enjoyed it. Might come back and give it a five.

The start was really good, but the second half is a very specific mood which I’m excited to listen to a certain sentence but doesn’t keep up for me in general daily place and replability

I really enjoyed the prevs joni record and gave this one multiple chances but for some reason never could quite get into it

I am aware of its historical significance and the tracks here are iconic. However , for me, not much set this apart sufficiently from the similar records

the opening is a banger, it does suffer from sameness but it made for a fun bike ride
