Bringing It All Back Home
Bob DylanFolksy.
Folksy.
First repeat artist! Turns out all those huge nerds in the 2010s telling me I would love Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were right! Dug this one, although not as much as Murder Ballads
Not super familiar with Simon (or Garfunkel honestly). Thought the album started strong with Mother and Son Reunion and Duncan, but never quite hit those highs again. Enjoyable enough, would listen to more of Simon’s work.
Hot damn. I was all set to give this 3 or even possibly 2 stars after the first listen. I've never been a big Rolling Stones fan, but was kind of expecting this album to wow me. And that first spin, it just didn't. There were a few songs I enjoyed here and there but it mostly was forgettable. But the second time around? I cranked up the volume and all of a sudden it was like a different album. Standout songs: Wild Horses, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Sister Morphine, Moonlight Mile.
Never would have listened to or heard of this one without the website. This one was honestly a joy. Relatively contemporary guitar focused rock/blues with catchy beats and good vocals. Their 2017 album Resistance also SLAPS!
Hell yeah. Smooth as all hell.
“Her voice is annoying.” Are y’all high?
“Alright guys. It’s the first song on our first album. Let’s not get too crazy.” *Single handily invents Doom Metal*
Folksy.
I’ll be this shit would go so hard at The Bronze.
Jeez, 11th album and you drop this much of a banger? Funky dancing music with some sick guitar mixed in? Hell yeah. 4.5
I have never in my life heard a song like Tonite It Show, where the music sounds like the town theme for a SNES/PS1 era Final Fantasy town, and the vocals/lyrics sound like they’re from a Muppet Movie. 3.5 Stars
Certainly some variety here.
Whew! Long as hell but some real catchy songs. Love Below was better.
My 2004 Dodge Neon ate this CD and for years it was the only album I could listen to. Five Stars
Never heard of these guys before but this sounds like 90s hip hop distilled down to its essence, poorly aged lyrics and all. Would listen again.
Wake up Dead and Peace Sells are classic Megadeth, but the rest of the album isn’t quite as strong. An extra star for being still very listenable, but it’s no Rust In Peace.
Nothing bad about it, but nothing that stood out too much either.
Honestly Superstition alone might make this five stars, but fortunately the rest of the album is also a bop.
Yeah chief this just ain’t it. I’ve never been a big country fan, but wondered if maybe the problem was I was mostly exposed to post 9/11 country. Maybe the old shit would be better, more like good folk music with more soul. Then I hit something like “The Christian Way” and I honestly don’t know if I’m listening to a parody song it’s so on the nose. First 2 star review.
Gonna need to give this one more listens. Love me some Wu Tang and this scratched the itch. 3.5 stars.
I mean this in the absolute best way possible, this sounds like an album for of Disney Villain songs. 4.5 stars
Will listen to more. 3.5
Cmon man, it’s Parliament. It’s Funk personified. 4.5 stars.
Eh. Kinda half baked. Maybe I’m Amazed is great but otherwise forgettable.
Never heard of these dudes and while the cover art is beyond cursed, I really dug this album.
Pleasant enough to listen to but not my favorite.
First repeat artist! Turns out all those huge nerds in the 2010s telling me I would love Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were right! Dug this one, although not as much as Murder Ballads
Started fairly strong but lost me in the back half. 3.5 stars.
There’s some interesting sounds on here but they don’t always quite take them interesting places. Maybe a 2.76 stars but much better than the garbage Byrds country album y’all made me listen to.
Never listened to Costello before. Some song that sounded similar but also some honest to god bangers.
Awwww yeah smooth as all hell. Maybe my favorite jazz album of the ones I’ve listened to thus far
This is probably Neil Young’s best album. The trio of Cinnamon Girl, Down by the River, and Cowgirl in the Sand is truly impossible to beat. 4.5 stars.
Love James Brown. Not my favorite live album but the dude had it. 3.5 stars.
Hell yeah.
I really did not like the opening minute of this album, but as it went on it redeemed itself, and it honestly has some pretty good tunes.
Smooth as butter.
Man, the Big Four of Grunge are so good. Maybe the only knock on this album is it’s a little top heavy, with the post Jeremy songs not being as strong, but cmon, that first half is godly. 4.5 stars.
These guys have been one of my blind spots, can’t deny it.
Dang. It turns out even early mid Beatles are pretty damn good. Not nearly as inspired as their post Revolver output, but you can see the flashes of where they will go in the not too distant future. 3.5 Stars
Enjoyable and lots of songs I hadn’t heard before, but not as strong as the last Stones album.
I can appreciate what they were going for 20 years ago, and there’s time when it works, but this album just ain’t very good. Linkin Park is better than their meme reputation, but in other ways they’re like if Simple Plan was a little bit heavier. 2.5 Stars
1990 but sounds right out of the late 60s/70s. Don’t get the fools saying this sounds overly southern? It’s just a good time, man. 3.5 Stars
