I'm not sure I love the tinny vocals on a lot of the tracks that are common for that genre in the 80s. The Yo Yo Man is a bop though.

Enjoyable. Crisp vocals and enjoyable riffs. I also got a bit more into the lyrics of this and found a new Christmas song. I don't think I've ever listened to an album all the way through that it a story about a character - so an interesting first for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed the energy of this album. Interspersed with some real crooners but I don't mind a soppy love song tbh. Trying to Get to You and I'm Counting On You are personal faves. Definitely an era defining release.

I'm surprised You're Crazy isn't more widely known. Best song on the album - those guitars!!! Have to say a couple of their songs are pretty bad - but overall a really fun listen.

Till There Was You is quite nice but I'm surprised this album is on the list - it's quite forgettable. Constant harmonising lol.

Loved every second of it. Never thought I'd like a Live album so much. Jealous of those who were there!

This really isn't very good, it was quite difficult to get through in honesty. I think of plenty other female R&B artists that would be a better choice

The contrast of the lyrics content and sound is initially quite jarring but in a good way? Sweet guy. It is a slightly repetitive-sounding album but I can put that aside

I really like this genre but it's quite a forgetful, long album where the songs all merge into one

Very naively hadn't appreciated just how much this album has influenced the dance music I listen to today. Absolute belters. Full Throttle in particular took me back to festivals from my late teens.

Too much girly screaming prevents this from being a 5* - the sound quality is amazing.

Someone was deeply obsessed by someone that rejected them lol.

Unforgettable tunes on this album. I love the echoey reverbed samples, combined with slow broken-beats. Reminiscent of sensuality and hedonism in the dance.

Lost interest towards the end - still pretty fun though

I am generally a big fan of breakbeat so this was pretty enjoyable - not the best - but perfectly listenable.

Pretty great. I was expecting a bit more grit from their vocals though, they sound almost too clean.

Why is this getting so much hate - fun easy listening. Love hearing the English voices against a classically American hip-hop sound.

A cathartic listening experience - they really have a unique sound and so nice to hear some times I've not heard for a while!

I quite like his voice tbf... it's fine and a bit samey after a while

I think this has an unfairly low average score. I think that the hybrid rock/blues/country (at times) sound sets the band apart from the usuals from that era.

One of the first CDs I bought - once in a generation artist. Soulful, witty, profound

She was a sweetheart wasn't she with such a glorious voice. Very easy listening. I could have made up some of the rhyming of the lyrics though.

Really into ambient experimental house/trip-hop at the moment. It is bad to say I prefer the newer stuff that has obviously taken influence from this LP?
