it’s a fine album, i’m sure if you’re into this kind of thing you’ll appreciate it more, but i’m unfortunately not. i did like add it up but after that everything merged into one
at least the riffs aren't bad. it's a shame that the rest is. not really sure i'd consider this album a MUST listen to before i die, the title track is fine but i'm not sure the rest is worth listening to honestly
short album but really sweet. i'm a big fan of neil's voice, especially loved round & round. have never been big on country type stuff but this got me somewhere deep down
i think this is great... i really like the instrumentals i think they're really really interesting, it does make the second half feel a bit weaker to me but it doesn't matter all that much. also i'm a big fan of kraftwerk so i love hearing the influences here
BLUE BLUE ELECTRIC BLUE 🔥🔥🔥
velouria and all over the world have made me get the pixies. i've never been able to get into them much but i used to be really into bands like the smashing pumpkins so this album did appeal to that deep down part of my brain. big fan, think i will be listening a lot in the coming days/weeks
very cool, easy to get lost in which i really liked. inner city life is great
lost me a little bit in the middle but shining star is GREAT and even when it drops off a bit it isn't bad by any means. good album
i don't really remember a lot of the middle but i didn't hate it. probably not an album i'll be putting on a lot but there's some good stuff here... also i recommend the siouxsie and the banshees cover of this wheel's on fire, it's pretty good
this was a revisit for me and i had sort of forgotten how long the second half of this album feels, although thief of baghdad is a standout for me. i do really like this album though despite that. i think it has a really unique sound to it, the guitars are great. and although i'm not the biggest fan of julian cope, i do actually like his voice for the most part. enjoyed a lot
i feel quite bad now for actually not minding this lmao. i am not particularly fond of adam ant's voice but i do find that it works on some songs (dog eat dog, feed me to the lions, etc). i absolutely love the instruments here, i think they do save the album a bit.
i'm quite ashamed of the fact this was the best selling album of 1981 here... there's so much better from that year...
really loved this one!!! very sweet but also very melancholy, all around a great album
very impressed by this one, janet has a gorgeous voice
shocked this album came out in 1972, sounds way ahead of its time and the extended jamming parts on here are amazing. would never have thought to listen to this without it being generated but i'm really glad i did.
a fun album, thought a lot of the samples here were very cool
just really didn’t like this one, i can’t even really put into words why, guess i just don’t like tom waits’ voice here that much… although i did like the sheer anguish you can hear come through at times. also feel the need to highlight that a few hours after i listened to this, a friend of mine messaged me to ask if i was alright because he was “bedazzled” to see me listening to this. sorry tom waits i’m sure your other stuff is good.
i mean it was fine, felt quite nostalgic in a way? doesn’t really mean it was good though.
thought this was awesome. need to get on the neil grind more
not amazing, not terrible. i do like how many different inspirations you can hear on here but this also didn’t exactly blow me away
i cannot express how much both this and unknown pleasures mean to me. this album is very haunting in a way, when it comes to tracks like isolation and the eternal i feel like you can hear how truly troubled ian was. and i think decades is absolutely brilliant, it has such a hopeless tone to it. i love the synths here and i do really wonder what they could have done if they had the chance to make a third album.
actually not that bad for the most part, although a fair few songs feel like a "how similar can i sound to chris martin" contest
would have rather watched paint dry than listen to this
have to retype this since the website keeps lagging… i thought this was alright honestly. does go on slightly too long but i do think rufus has quite an interesting voice. just maybe not being used quite as well as it could be here. not bad at all in my opinion though 😆
great, i’ve only ever been a casual fan of PSB but i loved this. can you forgive her is such a tune
me and my friend were harassed in a record shop a few days ago, the owner was absolutely insistent that we buy this. i mean it's a good album but maybe not THAT good
can’t stand john lydon but my god this album just has everything going for it, love love love the bass
i loved this album a lot when i was like 14, i think it’s maybe not as good as i thought it was. but i do still like it
