I can definitely see why this was recommended and I heard some songs I recognized but I probably wouldn’t throw it on in a daily basis.
I wasn’t excited to put this in at first but it was a banger front to back. Would listen again.
I was excited to listen because I knew their hits but had never listened to a full album of theirs. This album was great. One thing that stuck out to me was how immaculate the production was. Everything sounds so crisp and clean and every note sounded intentional. I only listened to the album one time through but I am planning to listen again on a 1001 free weekend.
I failed my assignment and didn’t listen to the whole thing and believe it or not there were a lot of songs I hadn’t heard before. I enjoyed what I did listen to, though.
There’s definitely some nostalgia at play here for me. These songs have such somber tones and catchy melodies. This album definitely had an impact on my song writing and overall taste in music.
Dominion/mother russia - really catchy. Love the classic 80s vibe. Flood I - also good but sounded similar to the previous track Lucretia my reflection - that fat bass riff. Love it. Wanting to throw on sunglasses during my 5am commute at this point. 1959 - bringing it down a little with some softer piano. Kind of cheesy. Piano recording quality is terrible. This corrosion - not bad but I started getting bored at this point and arrived at work. I listened to the remaining songs on the way home and although I thought they were good, nothing really stood out to me. I enjoyed this album for what it was and I was pumped to get another album from an artist I had never heard of. Loved the 80s goth vibes but the album really lost my interest after 1959. Would listen to the first three tracks again.
Wilco is always recommended to me by Spotify and Heavy Metal Drummer is on my current playlist. I hadn’t heard an album of theirs in full before this one, though. First listen: bored to tears to be honest. The next morning I caught myself humming the chorus of Kamera so I threw the album on again and I really enjoyed it this time. Favorite tracks: Ashes of American Flags Kamera Heavy Metal Drummer Pot Kettle Black Honestly just the entire last half of the album is great. I’m still trying to figure out my personal 5 point scale but I’m giving this a 3 because I thoroughly enjoyed it but it’s not going to be on repeat.
New to me. Would listen to it again.
"it sounds like this band played the same song in a bunch of different ways until they found one that white people would play at every event" Nah but for real I was pleasantly surprised.
Good drum work. Really liked Then She Did… and Classic Girl. Probably wouldn’t listen again.
Almost had to choose did not listen because I nearly fell asleep. Boring.
I loved this. It was very entertaining.
Good, classic music. Really enjoyed it but didn’t absolutely love it.
Already love this band’s radio hits. I had never heard this album. Absolutely loved it. The bass lines slap. Favorite songs: chocolate cake, it’s only natural, fall at your feet, weather with you, four seasons in one day, there goes god (interesting lyrics), as sure as I am. Wow what an album. Will definitely listen to this again.
Another solid album. I love the hits on this album but it felt less cohesive overall than pretzel logic.
Finally got around to listening to this. I’m not usually a fan of live albums but this was phenomenal.
Going in I only knew their hit. The album was really nice. Despite never having heard it, it gave me a pang of nostalgia. And the last song on the album hit me like a ton of bricks. Very glad to have listened.
Loved the fact that none of the songs overstayed their welcome - made this a very easy listen. Lots of catchy Melodie’s. Great drum work and awesome vocals.
Pretty good but wouldn’t listen again
Kind of corny at times but a very fun listen
Better than the last Jane’s addiction album we had. Still not my bag baby. I know I’m supposed to be reviewing the album and not the list itself, but why are there so many artists with multiple albums? I’d rather see an artist’s defining album and then move on.
I love how interesting the guitar riffs are. This album has some real gems.
Not at all what I expected but a very fun listen. Lots of catchy tunes.
Ok this wasn’t objectively bad but I am not sure why it was on here. The ocean was pretty good but overall this album was not memorable.
Glad I got to hear this because without this list I wouldn’t have. Very enjoyable.
Great vibes. Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks was an immediate favorite.
Loved highway patrolman. Happy to have heard this album.
I listened to this on the way to work. It was good but nothing memorable.
This album was an absolute banger. Disappointed that I have to listen to a different album tomorrow.
Loved what this man could do with a guitar and his voice. Very comforting music. Loved it.
I knew all the tracks but had never listened to the album front to back. It’s insane that they have so many great songs on this album. Wow.
Did not know this was bjork until the second song. This album was great. I adore the song “Birthday”.
Some good classics. Overall not my favorite Beatles.
Two weeks is a special song to me but I hadn’t really heard the rest of the album before. Fun fact, I actually saw them open for spoon and remember the front man saying “we just want everyone to know we have more songs than Two Weeks.” And it turns out they were right. This album was a real treat.
Kind of slow. Had some good songs but I probably wouldn’t be excited to listen to it again.
Feels like a greatest hits album which means it’s full of bangers but didn’t feel cohesive
Interesting but not for me
Unexpectedly great. I loved how intricate all of the songs were. Lots of different instruments and moving pieces.
Interesting concept and pretty good quality sound and guitar work. For some reason I couldn’t really get into it though.
It was ok. I wanted to love it but nothing was catchy enough.
I’ve never been a huge fan and still feel the same.
Great guitar work and melodies. Odd but interesting lyrics. Vocals sound like they took one take and said that’ll do.
Good vibes on this album. Would listen again.
Drum work was fire. Unfortunately this album didn’t resonate with me.
Not what I’d normally listen to but very good
I wanted to hate it but it was pretty good
Really good. I was only familiar with a few songs - none of which are in this album - and am glad to have heard this album.
It was good but very long and repetitive songs.
Really want to give it a 5 but it falls flat toward the end
Wow this was much better than anticipated. I thought they were a one hit wonder.
Some great songs and some stinkers. I remember buying this album when it came out. Not a fan of the 2 song tracks. It’s no dookie.
