Cupid & Psyche 85
Scritti PolittiI really like the grooves on this album and gives me all the 80s pop feels that i didn’t know i wanted. Pleasantly surprised by this one.

The context around this album is obviously really important. Probably the most consequential and famous live album of all time. However, without knowing any of the history here, the songs very much hold up on their own merit. Unapologetic, art-forward, and uniquely their own - this is what music is about.
There are some classic tunes on here and the album as a whole was really pleasing to listen to.
Groovy
American Girl >>>> Otherwise the rest is ok, not a huge fan of the vocals in some areas.
Didn’t blow me away but wasn’t offensive.
It’s got Jump, man.
Solid riffs, Layla in its original forme
I’m sure it was influential, but it honestly sounds like elevator music. Maybe culture and time didn’t do it much favors there.
Grimy and stanky
Kicks your ass off the bat with DRC and then Beth hits you in the feelings kidneys
I don’t really get it
It’s good jazz, i didn’t know when the album finished and other songs started the shuffle though.
Multi-generational, gritty, inspiring, and just good music.
The first track was crazy with headphones and the last track was crazy with headphones but more cat sounds and fart noises.
Touch me would’ve made it a 5
I get this is probably the birth of techno that i know and love but it’s just not super fun to listen to.
Good anthems, catchy tunes, an overall melancholic but hopeful tone to the album in wake of one of our greatest disasters and eventual triumphs.
Some bangers, i felt the groove, not something I’d go back to super frequently.
I mess with this. Good lyrics, solid and interesting production. Could use some catchier hits i think, but overall it was fun to listen to.
I actually really fw the beastie boys
It was tough to listen to some of it - a little bit too prog for my taste at the first song. But then it kind of grew on me.
Very glad i got to listen to an entire Jay Z album. Good beats, good lyrics, i am way too white to listen to this regularly.
Nothing i was too super hyped about on this one.
It’s Elvis baby
My first Beatles album on here. It’s catchy, it’s interesting, and it’s actually pretty calming.
Jazzy, fun live parts, classic music, and i gotta share it with everyone.
A little too much weird for me
Cool sounds, but not something I’d listen to every day
Nice - lots of sex noises though.
It was very ethereal and artsy.
It’s going straight to Kiel
It’s very free form, but i prefer some tighter music for stuff other than background work music
First Alice In Chains album, i love how gritty it is. It’s haunting and heavy but not in an obnoxious screamy kind of way.
Classic rock at its most classic
A lot like the last one, some British pop rock. Not too offensive.
I don’t think so buddy. It’s just odd and not quite what I’m looking for in an album right now.
Hell yeah. Huge iron.
Seven seas carry this one, but the other tunes are classic Queen and always a joy to listen to.
It was aight
Really exceptional songwriting. Melancholy and poetic. Good tunes.
Tainted Love carried this but I had to draw the line at Sex Dwarf.
Difficult to put down at the start, and then finishes with one of the best songs ever written.
Had a recognizable tune, some good riffs, some of the background talking was weird.
Suck daddy
My sources tell me that they are the robots
Legendary riffs by a legendary guitarist.
Good tunes, i really mess with Joni
Chill tunes, and a huge hit to kick it off.
I really like the grooves on this album and gives me all the 80s pop feels that i didn’t know i wanted. Pleasantly surprised by this one.
Some cool tunes, good background music for work or chores.
Cry more libs
Interesting to see how these beginning tunes evolved into some of the massive hits Eminem put out in later works. Also interesting to hear some of the reviews on this album. Lots of praise for the beats, flow, technique, and general musical talent presented on this album. And in the same breath, a one star review solely due to the themes presented in the lyrics. If Eminem was rapping about rainbows and butterflies, would that evolve this from a one star to a four or five star album for these people? I’d posit that it would take away from the project. To me it doesn’t seem like he is advocating for violence but rather the opposite as this album is seeped in satire and mockery. I wouldn’t pretend to have deeply researched this album, but my thoughts now are that if you’re primary issue with the album is the harsh and offensive lyrics, you didn’t really get the point of the project.
Catchy tunes and hits that I’ve heard before - but didn’t know the name. Now I do.
The whamola goes crazy in this one.
Pretty good rock from a group i haven’t heard of before. Also the band name and album name are both very cool.
Anything less is a crime. Banger after banger - no matter how overplayed.
It’s challenging to rate an album with two of my favorite songs on it any lower than 5 stars. Even more challenging to go any less for the genius of The Beach Boys at their best. Nothing else quite like it.
Came into this one knowing one song, came out of it enjoying a lot of them. We Got The Beat surprisingly was not my clear favorite on here, which was a pleasant surprise.
Beautiful vocals, right up my alley kind of country, pleasant surprises. This one i might need to buy for my collection.
Kind of forgetful tunes, not offensive though - it was average to listen to.
Can’t go wrong with Led Zeppelin, some iconic songs and vibes.
I liked some of the tunes, i think they were more in the background - none stood out to me as particularly notable. But the vibes are there.
A lot of fun tunes with good writing and vibes, but a lot of it just sounded too same-y to me. My Generation the extended version really rocked hard though.
A very relaxing but also at times melancholy album. I like the melodies and production, and Neil’s unique vocals. Would listen again.
A pretty cool vibe from this one. It’s interesting and different from anything I’ve heard before. Would make a good movie soundtrack i feel like (if it hasn’t already been included in movies idk)
Ultra vibe-y, some great throwback features, and some super catchy songs. There are some annoying parts to it that i would not go back to though.
Groovy, classic, timeless, and a precursor for I’d think much greater things to come (idk i haven’t listened to a TON of MJ before).
I know this music wasnt made for me, but i still really like it.
Funny voice but i dig the vibes. Take me to this river again.
Solid tunes and hits that i didn’t know the origin of. I liked the production and the range of the songs on this one. Would live through the end of the world as we know it again.
Immaculate vibes on this one. I’m a fan of putting on some lofi music every once in a while, and this scratches that itch while also upping the production value and creativity to 11. It was so unique compared to the other albums I’ve listened to on this project so far, and definitely something i didn’t know i needed.
Enjoyable live rock album, i like the guitar artistry and some of the melodies in these songs. Always love to hear jumpin jack flash.
A newer one from this century… very happy to hear - good vibes on this but not very memorable.
Just such joy here in this album.
Eh was not really feeling these tracks. They dragged on a bit long for my taste and just didn’t give me much in return. Not poor but not up to par with the other albums so far.
It was good background music but not quite something i would listen to on a regular basis.
Incredible orchestral arrangements, dominating performances, and timeless writing by Jim Steinman. No wonder it is one of the best selling albums of all time - this one is for everyone.
I’m not sure i was the intended audience for this, but i was able to enjoy it anyways.
I liked the uniqueness of the songs and the overall vibe of the album.
I think R.E.M. definitely have their own particular vibe. The lyrics are so artsy but kind of nasally sung and every song on here vaguely sounds like something I’ve heard before - maybe being played at a mall. All that being said, i love that vibe.
I liked this one better than happy sad, but i think i need a break from Tim for a few months at least.
I did like the lyrics and vocals on this one but otherwise there wasn’t really any one song that stood out to me on the album.
Enter Sandman is the goat of this album, and really carries the whole gig. The rest of the songs aren’t offensive to listen to, but they don’t stack up - they play all of their cards on this one right from the start.
Three bangers and the rest is not too bad.
When they try to make actual music - it’s not bad (Human Cannonball), but way too much of this album is not quite right. Some of it actively hurts to listen to.
Chill electronic music that isn’t really challenging or particularly memorable, but it’s easy to digest.
An odd no-hits Beach Boys album that left me thinking it was kind of forgettable. Still some good writing and production though, as is customary from the group.
Classic grooves. Actually iconic music and lives up to every bit of hype it receives.
Chill vibes, good tunes. Only gripe is a lot of them blend together, but that also gives the album a very consistent feel.
Some interesting tunes, i liked the production and uniqueness of these songs. There weren’t any that particularly stood out to me, seemed like generic pop/rock, but it was enjoyable to listen to.
Really compelling grungy pop rock. I liked a lot of the riffs and vocal performances by Harvey. Only issue was that there wasn’t a whole lot that stuck in my memory from the album, but maybe the lack of a catchy tune is not so much a bad thing.
Some 96 tears old 60s vibes on here but nothing that really got me too interested.
I haven’t listened to Elvis Costello much before, and that’s the joy of this project. This album was fun and upbeat and really surpassed my expectations. It didn’t overstay its welcome either, was just an overall pleasure.
There are good songs and some that I’d probably skip next time. But the tunes, influence, and snoop carry this to one of the top hip hop albums I’ve heard. Regarding the lyrics, yeah they’re pretty offensive to listen to at times, but i think that’s just how art is sometimes, it’s meant to be challenging.
I did like a few of the beats and lyrics on this one. Doesn’t have the weight of a lot of the other more mainstream hip hop album hits that I’ve heard from this time, but it holds its own well.
The context around this album is obviously really important. Probably the most consequential and famous live album of all time. However, without knowing any of the history here, the songs very much hold up on their own merit. Unapologetic, art-forward, and uniquely their own - this is what music is about.
Lots to like here, and a lot i probably wouldn’t single out to listen to again on repeat. I enjoyed the production and the vocals, and the calm vibes were very welcome (although not all of the topics were peaceful and calm, the music remained fairly so). It sounds like music for a fancy dinner party or inner reflection.
Groovy and moody and just all around a good vibe. I could see myself rocking out to this on the regular.
Maybe it’s because it took me weeks to get through it but i didn’t think there was all that too special on here. Might be worth coming back to.
Absolutely not anything that i would’ve found myself or chose to listen to outside of a project like this. However, it really holds its own as a unique sound. The guitar on here is what spoke to me the most, as i couldn’t relate much to the lyrics here - but was able to surmise something from the beautifully haunting progressions.
An unapologetically crushing album. Sick riffs, great vocals, and really makes you think about the circumstances and history surrounding its creation. Truly an artifact, but also fun to listen to.
Drugs are a hell of a thing, huh?
Pretty groovy beats and good lyrics. I didn’t think there was much to write home about but really did enjoy it.
For sure bopped along with some of these tunes - the vibes were good.
Not really a fan of the 15 minute mega-songs. Feels like it pigeonholes the tunes into “background music”. That being said, it was an enjoyable listen otherwise. I like this guy’s mustache.
Amazed that all of these hits are in one album. Even some of my favorite songs by CCR that weren’t massive hits (Run Through the Jungle) show up here. Just great vibes and tunes, iconic songs all the way around.
Pretty unique rock songs. Missing a few catchier lyrics and hooks, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I just wanted something more memorable from this to hold on to. The album cover art is pretty dope tho.
I definitely lean towards this kind of music as one of my favorite genres. Dusty does a good job and there’s a lot of strong covers in here. Wanted a bit more variety out of it, but overall was happy i listened.
Pretty groovy damn
I actually really enjoyed this much more than I thought i would. Bongo Bong all day long.
He’s just a goofy guy!
I miss my wife now (I’ve never been married)
Great flow and great nutritional tips and tricks
Exceptional flow and catchy hooks make this a certified hood classic
I love some of the chord progressions on this and the guitar work. Just very calming and folksy.
Gotta give it at least a 4 star for style points and just overall iconic sounds. Ozzy was a master at his craft, will never be another artist like him.
Not much more than more than a feeling but it’s enough
Not really my thing, i can appreciate the sound though - it’s not quite like anything else out there.
Great riffs and a huge hit in Sunshine - one of my favorite guitar focused songs (shoutout to guitar hero on the Wii). Glad i got a chance to experience this album in it’s entirety.
I’ve heard of Kings of Leon before, but never really dove into their music. I think listening to this album has convinced me to do so. It was really great to listen to with some recognizable tunes and some things that should’ve definitely come up in my algorithm before.
Knows exactly what it wants to be and executes it well. Very pleasing to listen to pop country album, and sometimes that’s all i need.
I do like this version of Elvis - Suspicious Minds is for sure one of my favorite of his songs. And this version slaps pretty hard. Others on here like Kentucky Rain really just hit right for me.
A perfect album for our day and age. Yes it’s offensive, rough, misogynistic and homophobic and all of that. But it also teaches an important lesson - sometimes we’re gonna get offended by something and that’s ok. Doesn’t mean it’s evil, doesn’t mean it’s going to harm us or harm our children, or harm our church. If you’re offended by it, you give it a 1, call it bad and move on no worse for wear (other then the time it spent to engage with it - which you may decide to never do again). It doesn’t need to be banned or silenced or otherwise taken action against. You call it bad if that’s how you feel, and move on with your life. There are people who disagree with you, and that’s ok too. I guess what I’m saying is it’s great we all get to have our own opinions here. And the world needs to learn something from it and chill the hell out. Also Em has got it, but i can’t handle some of these skits.
There are some classic tunes on here and the album as a whole was really pleasing to listen to.
No huge standout songs for me on this album, but overall it was pretty pleasant to listen to. I was looking for a bit more memorable tunes though.
I’ve got to slightly disagree with the dude. Take it easy is a bop and i won’t be convinced otherwise. The rest i can probably do without listening to again though.
Listened to it while playing a game of MTG commander, pretty chill vibes.
I love how at the end of Voodoo Chile you get a little applause and some chatter from the audience of that recording. If that was a live performance today it would be the biggest pop of all time. That’s how iconic and mind boggling some of the tunes are on here. There is some… interesting stuff that feels kind of like filler on here. But when you get to the good stuff, it’s good.
Some iconic songs on here and overall a good listen.
No clue what this guy did, but damn this music is right up my alley. Each song is jam packed with grooves, i can only imagine the energy in this club during the live recording. It had me dancing along doing my laundry and cleaning the kitchen - really good stuff.
I liked a lot of this. Just classy tunes that don’t go too crazy and leave you feeling happy and hopeful.
